We present a detailed simulation study of the signatures from the sequential decays of the triple-strange pbar p -> {\Omega}+{\Omega}- -> K+{\Lambda}barK- {\Lambda} -> K+pbar{\pi}+K-p{\pi}- process in the PANDA central tracking system with focus on hit patterns and precise time measurement. We present a systematic approach for studying physics channels at the detector level and develop input criteria for tracking algorithms and trigger lines. Finally, we study the beam momentum dependence on the reconstruction efficiency for the PANDA detector.

The planned MALTA3 DMAPS designed in the standard TowerJazz 180 nm imaging process will implement the numerous process modifications, as well as front-end changes in order to boost the charge collection efficiency after the targeted fluence of 1 × 1015 1 MeV neq/cm2. The effectiveness of these changes have been demonstrated with recent measurements of the full size MALTA2 chip. With the original MALTA concept being fully asynchronous, a small-scale MiniMALTA demonstrator chip has been developed with the intention of bridging the gap between the asynchronous pixel matrix, and the synchronous DAQ. This readout architecture will serve as a baseline for MALTA3, with focus on improved timing performance. The synchronization memory has been upgraded to allow clock speeds of up to 1.28 GHz, with the goal of achieving a sub-nanosecond on-chip timing resolution. The subsequent digital readout chain has been modified and will be discussed in the context of the overall sensor architecture.

The study of baryon excitation spectra provides insight into the inner structure of baryons. So far, most of the world-wide efforts have been directed towards N * and Delta spectroscopy. Nevertheless, the study of the double and triple strange baryon spectrum provides independent information to the N * and Delta spectra. The future antiproton experiment (P) over bar ANDA will provide direct access to final states containing a (Xi) over bar Xi pair, for which production cross sections up to mu b are expected in (p) over barp reactions. With a luminosity of L = 10(31) cm(-2) s(-1) in the first phase of the experiment, the expected cross sections correspond to a production rate of similar to 10(6) events/day. With a nearly 4 pi detector acceptance, (P) over bar ANDA will thus be a hyperon factory. In this study, reactions of the type (p) over barp -> (Xi) over bar (+)Xi*(-) as well as (p) over barp -> (Xi) over bar*(+)Xi(-) with various decay modes are investigated. For the exclusive reconstruction of the signal events a full decay tree fit is used, resulting in reconstruction efficiencies between 3 and 5%. This allows high statistics data to be collected within a few weeks of data taking.

The Large Hadron-Electron Collider (LHeC) is designed to move the field of deep inelastic scattering (DIS) to the energy and intensity frontier of particle physics. Exploiting energy-recovery technology, it collides a novel, intense electron beam with a proton or ion beam from the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). The accelerator and interaction region are designed for concurrent electron-proton and proton-proton operations. This report represents an update to the LHeC's conceptual design report (CDR), published in 2012. It comprises new results on the parton structure of the proton and heavier nuclei, QCD dynamics, and electroweak and top-quark physics. It is shown how the LHeC will open a new chapter of nuclear particle physics by extending the accessible kinematic range of lepton-nucleus scattering by several orders of magnitude. Due to its enhanced luminosity and large energy and the cleanliness of the final hadronic states, the LHeC has a strong Higgs physics programme and its own discovery potential for new physics. Building on the 2012 CDR, this report contains a detailed updated design for the energy-recovery electron linac (ERL), including a new lattice, magnet and superconducting radio-frequency technology, and further components. Challenges of energy recovery are described, and the lower-energy, high-current, three-turn ERL facility, PERLE at Orsay, is presented, which uses the LHeC characteristics serving as a development facility for the design and operation of the LHeC. An updated detector design is presented corresponding to the acceptance, resolution, and calibration goals that arise from the Higgs and parton-density-function physics programmes. This paper also presents novel results for the Future Circular Collider in electron-hadron (FCC-eh) mode, which utilises the same ERL technology to further extend the reach of DIS to even higher centre-of-mass energies. Yilmaz, Ali/0000-0001-5963-8306 WOS: 000515091400065 We investigate the sensitivity of the anomalous dimension-8 neutral triple gauge couplings via process pp -> nu nu gamma with fast detector simulation including pile-up effects for the post LHC experiments. The transverse momentum of the final state photon and missing energy transverse distributions are considered in the analysis. We obtain the sensitivity to the C-(B) over tildeW/Lambda(4), C-BB/Lambda(4), C-WW/Lambda(4) and C-BW/Lambda(4) couplings at HL-LHC and HE-LHC with an integrated luminosity of 3 ab(-1) and 15 ab(-1), respectively. Finally, our numerical results show that one can reach the constraints at 95% confidence level without systematic error on C-(B) over tildeW/Lambda(4), C-BB/Lambda(4), C-WW/Lambda(4) and C-BW/Lambda(4) couplings for HL-LHC (HE-LHC) as [-0.38;0.38]([-0.12;0.12]), [-0.21;0.21]([-0.085;0.085]), [-1.08;1.08]([-0.38;0.38]) and [-0.48;0.48]([-0.25;0.25]), respectively. The potential of triphoton production to obtain limits on anomalous Higgs boson couplings at $H\gamma\gamma$ and $HZ\gamma$ vertices is studied in Standard Model Effective Field Theory (EFT) framework for the post-LHC circular high-energy hadron colliders: High Luminosity-LHC (HL-LHC), High Energy LHC (HE-LHC) and Low Energy FCC (LE-FCC) which are designed with standard configurations of 14 TeV/3 ab$^{-1}$, 27 TeV/15 ab$^{-1}$ and 37.5 TeV/15 ab$^{-1}$. Madgraph in which the effective Lagrangian of the SM EFT is implemented using FeynRules and UFO framework is used to generate both background and signal events. These events are then passed through Pythia 8 for parton showering and Delphes to include realistic detector effects. After optimizing cuts on kinematics of three photons as well as the reconstructed invariant mass of the two leading photons, invariant mass of three leading photon is used to obtain constraints on the Wilson coefficients of dimension-six operators. We report the result of two dimensional scan of $\bar{c}_{\gamma}$ and $\tilde{c}_{\gamma}$ couplings at 95\% confidence level and compare with LHC results. Our obtained limits without systematic error on $\bar{c}_{\gamma}$ ( $\tilde{c}_{\gamma}$) are $[-3.15;1.41]\times10^{-2}$ ($[-2.12;2.12]\times10^{-2}$), $[-1.21;0.78]\times10^{-2}$ ($[-0.98;0.98]\times10^{-2}$) and $[-0.89;0.66]\times10^{-2}$ ($[-0.77;0.77]\times10^{-2}$) for HL-LHC, HE-LHC and LE-FCC, respectively., Comment: 16 pages, 10 figures, version accepted in Acta Physica Polonica B. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1901.04784

We review the physics opportunities of the Future Circular Collider, covering its e+e-, pp, ep and heavy ion programmes. We describe the measurement capabilities of each FCC component, addressing the study of electroweak, Higgs and strong interactions, the top quark and flavour, as well as phenomena beyond the Standard Model. We highlight the synergy and complementarity of the different colliders, which will contribute to a uniquely coherent and ambitious research programme, providing an unmatchable combination of precision and sensitivity to new physics. © 2019, The Author(s). In response to the 2013 Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study was launched, as an international collaboration hosted by CERN. This study covers a highest-luminosity high-energy lepton collider (FCC-ee) and an energy-frontier hadron collider (FCC-hh), which could, successively, be installed in the same 100 km tunnel. The scientific capabilities of the integrated FCC programme would serve the worldwide community throughout the 21st century. The FCC study also investigates an LHC energy upgrade, using FCC-hh technology. This document constitutes the second volume of the FCC Conceptual Design Report, devoted to the electron-positron collider FCC-ee. After summarizing the physics discovery opportunities, it presents the accelerator design, performance reach, a staged operation scenario, the underlying technologies, civil engineering, technical infrastructure, and an implementation plan. FCC-ee can be built with today’s technology. Most of the FCC-ee infrastructure could be reused for FCC-hh. Combining concepts from past and present lepton colliders and adding a few novel elements, the FCC-ee design promises outstandingly high luminosity. This will make the FCC-ee a unique precision instrument to study the heaviest known particles (Z, W and H bosons and the top quark), offering great direct and indirect sensitivity to new physics. © 2019, The Author(s). WOS:000477858500001 In response to the 2013 Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics (EPPSU), the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study was launched as a world-wide international collaboration hosted by CERN. The FCC study covered an energy-frontier hadron collider (FCC-hh), a highest-luminosity high-energy lepton collider (FCC-ee), the corresponding 100km tunnel infrastructure, as well as the physics opportunities of these two colliders, and a high-energy LHC, based on FCC-hh technology. This document constitutes the third volume of the FCC Conceptual Design Report, devoted to the hadron collider FCC-hh. It summarizes the FCC-hh physics discovery opportunities, presents the FCC-hh accelerator design, performance reach, and staged operation plan, discusses the underlying technologies, the civil engineering and technical infrastructure, and also sketches a possible implementation. Combining ingredients from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the high-luminosity LHC upgrade and adding novel technologies and approaches, the FCC-hh design aims at significantly extending the energy frontier to 100TeV. Its unprecedented centre of-mass collision energy will make the FCC-hh a unique instrument to explore physics beyond the Standard Model, offering great direct sensitivity to new physics and discoveries.

WOS:000433323900001 The potential of the e(+)e(-) -> vvH over barH process in the first stage of CLIC considering center-of-mass energy of 380GeV and assuming the baseline integrated luminosity of 500 fb(-1) is examined to probe CP-conserving dimension-six operators in a model-independent Standard Model effective field theory framework. In the analysis, a detailed fast simulation on e(+)e(-) -> vvH over barH signal processes and dominant backgrounds is performed including parton showering with PYTHIAand detector simulation based on ILD type detector with DELPHES in MadGraph. The obtained best limits on (c) over bar (HB), (c) over bar (W) = -(c) over bar (B), and (c) over bar (HW) are [- 4.82; 1.53] x 10(-2), [- 5.11; 4.13] x 10(-3), and [- 6.58; 5.55] x 10(-3), respectively.

In this study, the zenith angle distribution of the ground level cosmic ray flux have been measured at 900 meters above the sea level by using the developed prototype detector. The mea- surements have been done in Experimental Particle Physics Laboratory, Department of Physics, AIBU Bolu. The method used to carry out the experiment is by using simultaneous particle hits on two scintillator boxes that are arranged in tower mode then counts will accumulate in the scin- tillator counter boxes. This detector prototype provides a simpler, cheaper and suitable alternative to the common cosmic ray detectors for the detection of particles at ground level. The orientation of module is in the south-east direction. The fluxes and rates were measured for different zenith angles between 0o and 90o. The attenuation effect of the architectural components on the mea- sured cosmic ray flux was carried out by using GEANT4 simulation program and this effect was taken into account in the given results., Bu çalışmada, zemin seviyesindeki kozmik ışın akısının zenit açısı dağılımı, geliştirilen prototip detektörü kullanılarak deniz seviyesinden 900 metre yukarıda ölçülmüştür. Ölçümler, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi Fizik Bölümü Deneysel Parçacık Fiziği Laboratuvarında yapılmıştır. Ölçümleri gerçekleştirmek için kullanılan yöntem, kule modunda düzenlenmiş iki sintilatör kutusu üzerindeki eşzamanlı parçacık darbelerini kullanmaktır, daha sonra sayımlar sintilatör sayaç kutularında birikecektir. Bu detektör prototipi, parçacıkların yer seviyesinde tespit edilebilmesinde bilinen kozmik ışın detektörlerine göre daha basit, daha ucuz ve uygun bir alternatif sunar. Akılar ve oranlar, 0o ve 90o arasındaki farklı zenit açıları için ölçülmüştür. Mimari bileşenlerin ölçülen kozmik ışın akısı üzerindeki zayıflama etkisi, GEANT4 simülasyon programı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiş ve bu etki verilen sonuçlarda dikkate alınmıştır.

Cu(II)–copolymer macrocomplexes were prepared by incorporation of copolymers with copper sulfate in aqueous solution at $40^ oC$. Structure and composition of the obtained copolymers, and the formation of coordinated Cu(II)- complexes between amide VP unit and Cu(II) ions were studied by FTIR spectroscopy, DSC and TGA-DTG methods, as well as by the electrical conductivity measurements. Compositon of the copolymers synthesized in a wide range of monomer feed ratios were determined by FTIR and $^ 1H (^ {13}C)$ NMR–DEPT-135 spectroscopy. The monomer reactivity ratios were determined by Fineman-Ross, Kelen-Tüdös and non-linear regression methods. It was observed that studied monomer pair has some tendency to alternation in the chosen monomer feed ratios due to formation of intermolecular interaction through H-bonding and N→O=C coordination. The copolymers predominantly show amorphous structure while their Cu(II)–macrocomplexes exhibit crystalline phase. The conductive properties of the synthesized Cu(II)–poly(VP-co-NIPA) complexes was also discussed.The synthesized poly(NIPA-co-VP)s show temperature sensitiveness ($T _s$) and higher glass-transition temperature ($T _g$) and thermal stability, polyelectrolyte and stimuli-responsive (temperature- and pH-sensitive) behavior, and can be attributed to the class of bioengineering functional copolymers useful for application in various gene- and bioengineering processes, drug delivery systems, and biomacromolecule conjugations.

A phenomenological study of CP-violating dimension-six operators via the $e^+e^-\to\nu \bar{\nu} H$ process is performed in a model-independent Standard Model effective field theory framework at all energy stages of CLIC using the updated baseline integrated luminosities. All signal and relevant background events are generated in MadGraph and passed through PYTHIA for parton showering and hadronization at parton level. Detector effects are considered via tuned CLIC detector cards in Delphes. Since we reconstruct the Higgs boson from a pair of b-jets, limits on CP-violating dimension-six couplings are obtained at three $b$-tagging working points: tight, medium and loose defined in the CLIC Delphes card for all three energy stages of CLIC. Our best 95 \% C.L. limits at the loose working point (90 \% b-tagging efficiency) on $\tilde c_{HW}$ and $\tilde c_{HB}$ are $[-7.0\times10^{-3};7.0\times10^{-3}]$ and $[-3.0\times10^{-2};3.0\times10^{-2}]$, respectively at the 3 TeV energy stage of CLIC with an integrated luminosity of 5.0 ab$^{-1}$. Considering a 0.3 \% systematic uncertainty from possible experimental sources worsens the limits on these couplings by a factor of two., Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures

We study the sensitivity of anomalous neutral triple gauge couplings ($aNTGC$) via $pp \rightarrow ZZ$ production in the 4$\ell$ channel at 100 TeV centre of mass energy of future circular hadron collider, \verb"FCC-hh". The analysis including the realistic detector effects is performed in the mode where both Z bosons decay into same flavor, oppositely charged lepton pairs. The sensitivities to the charge-parity (CP)-conserving $C_{\tilde{B}W} / \Lambda^{4}$ and CP-violating $C_{WW} / \Lambda^{4}$, $C_{BW} / \Lambda^{4}$ and $C_{BB} / \Lambda^{4}$ couplings obtained at 95\% Confidence Level (C.L.) using the invariant mass distribution of 4$\ell$ system reconstructing the leading and sub-leading Z boson candidates are $[-0.117, \,\, +0.117]$, $[-0.293, \,\, +0.292]$, $[-0.380, \,\, +0.379]$, and $[-0.138, \,\, +0.138]$ in the unit of TeV$^{-4}$, respectively., Comment: 6 pages, 10 figures

After the recent discovery of a neutral Higgs boson with a mass about 125 GeV, we assess the extend of discovery potential of future circular hadron collider (FCC-hh) for a charged Higgs boson in the bottom and top quark decay channel. The charged Higgs boson can be produced through the pp->h^{-}t+X process with a subsequent decay h^{-}->b bar{t} channel. This decay channel is particularly important for studying the charged Higgs boson heavier than the top quark. We consider an extension of the standard model Higgs sector, namely two Higgs doublet model (2HDM), and perform a dedicated signal significance analysis to test this channel for the FCC-hh running at the center of mass energy of 100 TeV and the integrated luminosity of 1 ab^{-1} (initial) and 30 ab^{-1} (ultimate). The antiproton experiment PANDA at FAIR is designed to bring hadron physics to a new level in terms of scope, precision and accuracy. In this work, its unique capability for studies of hyperons is outlined. We discuss ground-state hyperons as diagnostic tools to study non-perturbative aspects of the strong interaction, and fundamental symmetries. New simulation studies have been carried out for two benchmark hyperon-antihyperon production channels: $\bar{p}p \to \bar{\Lambda}\Lambda$ and $\bar{p}p \to \bar{\Xi}^+\Xi^-$. The results, presented in detail in this paper, show that hyperon-antihyperon pairs from these reactions can be exclusively reconstructed with high efficiency and very low background contamination. In addition, the polarisation and spin correlations have been studied, exploiting the weak, self-analysing decay of hyperons and antihyperons. Two independent approaches to the finite efficiency have been applied and evaluated: one standard multidimensional efficiency correction approach, and one efficiency independent approach. The applicability of the latter was thoroughly evaluated for all channels, beam momenta and observables. The standard method yields good results in all cases, and shows that spin observables can be studied with high precision and accuracy already in the first phase of data taking with PANDA., Comment: 26 pages, 16 figures. We study the CP-conserving and CP-violating dimension-six operators of Higgs-gauge boson couplings via $pp\to\gamma\gamma$+n-jet signal process in a strongly interacting light Higgs based effective field theory framework at the center of mass energy of 100 TeV. In order to perform a simulation which includes realistic detector effects, the signal events in the existence of $\bar{c}_{\gamma} $, $\tilde{c}_{\gamma}$, $\bar{c}_{g} $ and $\tilde{c}_{g}$ Wilson coefficients and the relevant SM background events are generated in MadGraph, then passed through Pythia 8 for parton showering and finally run Delphes with FCC-hh detector card. In our analysis, we focus on the kinematic variables of the two photons in the final states of signal and relevant background processes that can reconstruct Higgs boson. We obtain constraints on the four Wilson coefficients of dimension-six operators using the transverse momentum distribution of reconstructed di-photon system with optimized kinematic cuts. The obtained 95\% confidence level limits on these four Wilson coefficients including detector effects at $\sqrt s$=100 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 30 ab$^{-1}$ without systematic error are at least one order or more better than current experimental limits reported by ATLAS experiment.
