A new triterpenoid saponin (1), along with five known compounds (2–6), was isolated from Bupleurum marginatum Wall. ex DC, of which compounds 2–4 were obtained for the first time from this plant. The structures were confirmed by the analysis of 1D, 2D NMR, and HR-ESIMS data, and comparison with previous spectral data. The felsic volcanogenic tuff known as 'green bean rock' (GBR) and its carbonates are widely dispersed across the western Yangtze Block. This study investigates the origin, tectonic setting and genesis of GBR, as well as the environmental disruptions evident in carbonates from the western edge of the Yangtze Block. The analyses include mineralogy, whole‐rock geochemistry and the isotopic composition of zircon Hf, carbon and oxygen in GBR samples from the western edge of the Yangtze Block. The geochemical profile of GBR shows enriched LREE, Th and U content, depleted levels of Nb, Ta, Sr, Ba, K, Rb and Ti, and strong‐to‐moderate negative Eu anomalies (δEu = 0.15–0.18). Zircon Hf isotopes exhibit S‐type geochemical affinities with low negative εHf(t) values (−13.3 to −5.7) and TDM2 ages of 1684–2110 Ma. This suggests that the volcanic ashes originate from the magma of an intermediate to felsic composition. X‐ray directionality data show that the most prevalent clay minerals are illite and illite/smectite. Lithium fixed in these minerals is likely to have leached from brine. Early Triassic variances in δ13C profiles are reliable indicators of environmental disturbances, pointing to cycles of devastation and restoration in marine ecosystems, interspersed with extraneous events including volcanic activity. The limited treatment options for advanced prostate cancer (PCa) lead to the urgent need to discover new anticancer drugs. Mannose, an isomer of glucose, has been reported to have an anticancer effect on various tumors. However, the anticancer effect of mannose in PCa remains unclear. In this study, we demonstrated that mannose inhibits the proliferation and promotes the apoptosis of PCa cells in vitro, and mannose was observed to have an anticancer effect in mice without harming their health. Accumulation of intracellular mannose simultaneously decreased the mitochondrial membrane potential, increased mitochondrial and cellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, and reduced adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production in PCa cells. Mannose treatment of PCa cells induced changes in mitochondrial morphology, caused dysregulated expression of the fission protein, such as fission, mitochondrial 1 (FIS1), and enhanced the expression of proapoptotic factors, such as BCL2-associated X (Bax) and BCL2-antagonist/killer 1 (Bak). Furthermore, lower expression of mannose phosphate isomerase (MPI), the key enzyme in mannose metabolism, indicated poorer prognosis in PCa patients, and downregulation of MPI expression in PCa cells enhanced the anticancer effect of mannose. By HPLC-MSn and HRMS analyses, the structures of 52 polyoxypregnane glycosides were rapidly inferred from Dregea sinensis Hemsl on the basis of their sodium-cationized molecules [M + Na]+ and predominant diagnostic ions resulting from the saccharic chain on C3 and the neutral loss of substituent on C11 and C12. A 2 × VDD CMOS output buffer with process, voltage and leakage (PVL) detection mechanism is proposed such that slew rate is auto-adjusted to reduce the variations at different corners. To boost the driving current, low threshold voltage transistors are used instead of devices with typical threshold voltage in the driving transistor of output stage. More importantly, to prevent large leakage of those large low threshold voltage devices, leakage detection resistors are added at the gates of the always-on low threshold voltage transistors to clamp the leakage. The static power consumption is reduced when it is not activated. Another feature of the proposed design is that the gate-oxide leakage is also reduced by lengthening the driving transistors. Besides, all biases in the proposed design are generated from bandgap circuits such that not only is the variation caused by temperature drifting reduced, the area overhead and power dissipation are also minimized. The proposed design is carried out by using 28-nm CMOS process. The data rate proved by physical measurement is proved to be 2.0 GHz given 1.8/1.05 V supply voltage, namely, VDD or 2 × VDD, when the proposed PVL detection as well as the compensation circuitry are activated. To explore the dynamic impacts of simulated microgravity (SM) on different vital brain regions of rats. Microgravity was simulated for 7 and 21 days, respectively, using the tail-suspension rat model. Histomorphology, oxidative stress, inflammatory cytokines and the expression of some key proteins were determined in hippocampus, cerebral cortex and striatum. 21-day SM decreased brain derived neurotrophic factor and induced neuron atrophy in the cerebral cortex. Strong oxidative stress was triggered at day 7 and the oxidative status returned to physiological level at day 21. Inflammatory cytokines were gradually suppressed and in striatum, the suppression was regulated partially through c-Jun/c-Fos. The results revealed that the significant impacts of SM on rat brain tissue depended on durations and regions, which might help to understand the health risk and to prevent brain damage for astronauts in space travel.
