10. Static charged dilaton black hole cannot be overcharged by gedanken experiments

Abstract

We consider the new version of the gedanken experiments proposed recently by Sorce and Wald to overcharge a static charged dilaton black hole. First of all, we derive the first-order and second-order perturbation inequalities in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton gravitational theory based on the Iyer-Wald formalism. As a result, we find that the weak cosmic censorship conjecture associated with this black hole can be protected after taking into account the second-order perturbation inequality, although violated by the scene without considering this inequality. Therefore, there is no violation of the weak cosmic censorship conjecture around the charged static dilaton black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton gravity, Comment: 8 pages, 1 figure

11. Holographic complexity of charged Taub-NUT-AdS black holes

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the holographic complexity in the charged Taub-NUT-AdS black holes with Misner strings present in the Einstein-Maxwell gravity. We show that differing from the normal black holes, where the late-time complexity growth rate is only determined by the quantities at outer and inner ``Reissner-Nordstrom''-type (RN-type) horizons, here the quantities (the Misner potential and Misner charge) related to the Misner strings also play an important role in CA complexity. Similar to the case of the normal electromagnetic black hole, the late-time rate for the original CA conjecture is independent on the magnetic charges. However, disparate with common results of the dyonic solutions, the electric charge appeared here is the total charge of this black hole. Besides, we found that the result in this original CA conjecture also violates the electromagnetic duality. And this duality can be restored by adding the Maxwell boundary term with the proportional constant $\g=1/2$. In this case, the late-time rate is sensitive to the magnetic charge. Moreover, we also found that the additional term only changes the proportion between the electric and magnetic charges, and it does not affect the Misner term appeared in the late-time rate. Finally, we studied the time-dependence of the complexity growth rate and found that they share similar behaviors with that in RN-AdS black holes., Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures. 31. Theoretical study on Mα transition parameters of He-like to C-like cobalt ions.

Abstract

The multi-configuration Dirac–Hartree–Fock method is employed to investigate the Mα transitions of He-like to C-like Co ions. This study encompasses various parameters, such as energy levels, wavelengths, transition rates, oscillator strengths, and line strengths. The Breit interaction, vacuum polarization, and self-energy corrections were included in the computation of energy levels. The computed results we obtained align well with both experimental and theoretical findings. The differences for most energy levels, transition wavelengths, and oscillator strengths are all below 0.6%, 0.8%, and 20%, respectively. The uncertainty estimation method of the transitions of line strength is evaluated using quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods. The resulting accurate and consistent MCDHF data are expected to be useful for theoretical research on cobalt ions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

In the present study, detailed comparative experiments on a heavy-duty diesel engine used in the world harmonized transient cycle (WHTC) and road spectrum reversely deduced cycle (RSRDC, which was derived from a road test) were carried out. Fuel consumption and gaseous and particulate pollutants, along with some engine operation parameters, were measured transiently; thus, specific emissions can be calculated. Results showed that the BSFC of WHTC and RSRDC was 201.8 and 210 g/kW·h, respectively, because the real road driving cycle (RSRDC) had wider operating point distributions and more points located in the low-efficiency zone relative to WHTC. Thus, WHTC operations exhibited higher raw CO (abundant CO formation needed a specific temperature threshold) and NOx but lower HC. Furthermore, with aftertreatment, all pollutants met the newest China regulation limit. Finally, transient emissions were analyzed in detail. Although the specific emissions of some pollutants were similar in value for both cycles, transient processes may largely be different. Therefore, the current study is meaningful, and we not only provide broad and detailed information but also directly compare two types of operations (one is a real road driving cycle) in the laboratory: this is rarely discussed in the literature.
