The use of modern microscopes and alternative training tools for computer-aided imaging systems in laboratory education has become widespread today. In this study, the microscope, also used in scientific studies, is also regarded as a tool that facilitates learning in applied lessons from the first years in colleges. From this point of view, the research problem was determined "as the effect of using technical and visual devices used in the laboratory on student performance.” While the population of the study is composed of the students studying at the Department of Laborant and Veterinary Health Program at Afyon Kocatepe University Bayat Vocational School, the sample consists of a total of 125 first and second-grade students studying at the same university and department in the 2019-2020 academic year. In the study, a survey model was used to reveal the students' knowledge of microscope usage. The "microscope usage knowledge scale" developed by the researchers, which consists of technical information and terms, was applied to the sample group. As a result, it was observed that 72.8% of the students thought that the training provided through the microscope with the trinocular head was better and more effective., Laboratuvar eğitiminde bilgisayar destekli görüntüleme sistemine ait modern mikroskoplar ve alternatif eğitim araçlarının kullanımı da günümüzde yaygın hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada bilimsel çalışmalarda da kullanılan mikroskop aynı zamanda yüksekokullarda ilk yıllardan itibaren de uygulama derslerinde öğrenmeyi kolaylaştıran bir araç olarak görülmektedir. Buradan hareketle çalışmanın ana fikir cümlesi “laboratuvarda kullanılan teknik ve görüntülü cihazların kullanımının öğrenci performansı üzerine etkisi” olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın evrenini Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Bayat Meslek Yüksekokulu Laborant ve Veteriner Sağlık bölümü’nde öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluştururken, örneklemini 2019-2020 eğitim-öğretim senesinde aynı üniversite ve bölümden seçilen 1. ve 2. sınıfta öğrenim gören toplam 125 veteriner laborant öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma öğrenci adaylarının mikroskop kullanım bilgilerini ortaya koyan tarama modelindedir. Araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ve görüntünün incelenmesi, teknik bilgi ve terimlerden oluşan “mikroskop kullanım bilgisi ölçeği” örneklem grubuna uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak öğrencilerin % 72.8’i trinokuler başlığa sahip mikroskopta verilen eğitimin daha iyi ve etkili olduğunu düşündüklerini göstermektedir.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of Mentha spicata L. (Lamiaceae), which contains caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid, alpha tocopherol, and eugenol, on hormonal regulation of energy metabolism in rats. Obesity is a risk factor for various diseases such as hyperlipidemia, arteriosclerosis, and fatty degeneration in the liver. Furthermore, it has been aimed to inquire the effect of the Mentha spicata L. whether it is effective as a liver protective factor in rats fed on high fat diet. In this study, 70 Wistar-Albino male rats aged 2-3 months were used. The animals were allocated into 7 groups (10 rats in each group): 1 control group and 6 experimental groups, including negative control; carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC); high-fat diet, positive (HFD); M. spicata petroleum ether extract (PE); M. spicata ethyl acetate (EtOAc) extract; and M. spicata methanol (MeOH) extract. All experimental groups were given dietary fat and M. spicata extracts, excluding the control group. The group C rats were fed the standard rat diet; group CMC high-fat diet (40% beef tallow + 1% cholesterol) + 1 mL 0.5% CMC; group I-IFD high-fat diet; and groups PE, EtOAc, and MeOH petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts of M. spicata, respectively, via gastric gavage for 60 days. The plasma concentrations of hormones [leptin, ghrelin, adiponectin, insulin, and thyroid hormones (T-4, FT4, T-3, and FT3)], glucose, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, total protein, and lipid profiles (cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, high-density lipoprotein, and triglycerides) were monitored. The histopathologic examination revealed fatty degeneration in the liver tissue and perivascular accumulation of inflammatory cells in the experimental groups. The PE extract obtained from M. spicata was effective in maintaining the body weight and protecting against liver degeneration. Further studies are required to verify this.

The aim of thepresent study was to evaluate the protective effect of taurine on acrylamide-induced oxidative stress in rats.Totally, 35 Wistar albino male rats were fed standard rodent diet and dividedinto 5 equal groups. I. Group: control group, II. Group: only 15 mg/kg acrylamidetreated by gastric gavage for 60 days.III., IV., and V. group received 15 mg/kg acrylamide with taurine at dose of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg/day by gastricgavage. Treatment with acrylamide significantly increased malondialdehydelevels and decreased glutathione levels in blood and tissues of rats.Additionally, acrylamide treatment decreased superoxide dismutase and catalaseactivities in erythrocyte and tissues of rats. However, treatment of taurineinhibited acrylamide-induced oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation, and enhancedthe antioxidant enzymes activities. Besides, mRNA expression levels of IFN-γ,IL-1β, TNF-α, and NFĸB in liver and brain of acrylamide exposed rats weredecreased with taurine treatment. Moreover, taurine exhibited protective actionagainst the acrylamide-induced histopathological changes in tissues. In conclusion, it wasdetermined that taurine in a dose-dependentmanner has a protective effect against acrylamide induced oxidative stress byincreasing antioxidant defense mechanism in rats., Bu çalışmada, sıçanlarda akrilamid ile oluşturulan oksidatif stresekarşı antioksidan ajan olan taurinin koruyucu etkisinin araştırılmasıamaçlandı. Toplam 35 Wistar erkek sıçan standart rodent yemiyle beslendi ve 5eşit gruba ayrıldı. I. Grup: kontrol grubu, II. Grup: sadece 15 mg/kgakrilamid 60 gün boyunca gastrik gavaj yolu ile verildi. III., IV. ve V.gruplara sırasıyla akrilamid (15 mg/kg) ve taurin 50, 100 ve 200 mg/kg/günolacak şekilde ağızdan gastrik gavaj ile verildi. Akrilamid uygulamasısıçanların kan ve dokularında malondialdehid seviyelerinde önemli bir artışa veglutatyon seviyelerinde azalmaya neden oldu. Buna ilave olarak, akrilamiduygulaması ile süperoksid dismutaz ve katalaz aktivitelerinin sıçan eritrositve dokularında azaldığı belirlendi. Taurin uygulamasının akrilamid ileindüklenen oksidatif stres ve lipid peroksidasyonu azaltarak vücudun antioksidan savunmasistemini iyileştirdiği belirlendi. Bunun yanı sıra, taurin uygulaması ile akrilamidverilen sıçanların karaciğer ve beyin dokularındaki IFN-γ, IL-1β, TNF-α ve NFĸBmRNA ekspresyon düzeylerinin azaldığı gözlendi. Ayrıca, taurindokularda akrilamid ile indüklenen oksidatif stres sonucu oluşan histopatolojikdeğişikliklere karşı koruyucu etki gösterdi. Sonuçta doza bağlı olarak taurininsıçanlarda antioksidan savunma mekanizmasını artırarak akrilamidle indüklenen oksidatif strese karşı koruyucu etkigösterdiği belirlendi.

The aim of this study was to examine the protective effect of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) on testicular oxidative damage, spermatological parameters and DNA damage caused by Glyphosate (GLF) in rats. In total, twenty-eight Wistar male rats were evaluated by being separated into four groups in an equal way. Rats in group I, which represented the control group, were fed normal diet without GLF or NAC, group II received normal feed containing 160 mg/kg/daily NAC, group III received normal feed containing 375 mg/kg/daily GLF, and group IV received normal feed containing 160 mg/kg/daily NAC + 375 mg/kg/daily GLF. GLF administration decreased sperm motility, abnormal sperm rate, sperm plasma membrane integrity, glutathione level and superoxide dismutase in the rats’ testicular tissue. On the other hand, high malondialdehyde level and DNA damage were detected in the group administered with GLF. Besides, in histopathological terms, a decrease in sperm concentration and degeneration of sertoli cells were determined in the testicular tissue. NAC and NAC+GLF administration reversed lipid peroxidation and DNA damage induced by GLF, the activity of antioxidant enzymes and cell integrity in rats’ testis. The above-mentioned findings indicate that NAC reduces lipid peroxidation caused by GLF, improves the antioxidant defense mechanism and regenerates tissue damage in rats’ testis. Bu çalışmanın amacı, N-asetilsisteinin (NAC) sıçanlarda Glifosat (GLF) 'nin neden olduğu testiküler oksidatif hasar, spermatolojik parametreler ve DNA hasarı üzerindeki koruyucu etkisini incelemektir. Toplam yirmi sekiz Wistar erkek sıçan, eşit bir şekilde dört gruba ayrılarak değerlendirildi. Kontrol grubunu olan grup I'deki sıçanlar, GLF veya NAC olmaksızın normal diyetle beslendiler, grup II’deki hayvanlara 160 mg / kg / günlük NAC içeren normal rat diyeti uygulandı, grup III’deki hayvanlara 375 mg / kg / günlük GLF içeren normal rat diyeti verildi ve grup IV’deki hayvanlara 160 mg / kg / günlük NAC + 375 mg / kg / günlük GLF içeren normal rat diyeti uygulandı. GLF uygulaması sıçanların testis dokusunda spermatozoon motilitesini, anormal spermatozoon oranını, spermatozoon plazma membran bütünlüğünü, glutatyon ve süperoksit dismutaz düzeyini azaltmıştır. Diğer taraftan GLF uygulanan grupta yüksek malondialdehid düzeyi ve DNA hasarı saptandı. Ayrıca histopatolojik olarak testis dokusunda spermatozoon konsantrasyonunda azalma ve sertoli hücrelerin dejenerasyonu belirlendi. NAC ve NAC + GLF uygulaması, lipid peroksidasyonunu ve GLF tarafından indüklenen DNA hasarını, sıçanların testislerinde antioksidan enzimlerin aktivitesini ve hücre bütünlüğünü tersine çevirdi. Yukarıda belirtilen bulgular, NAC'nin GLF'nin neden olduğu lipit peroksidasyonunu azalttığını, antioksidan savunma mekanizmasını geliştirdiğini ve sıçanların testislerinde doku hasarını rejenere ettiğini göstermektedir.

Çalışmada gentamisin maruziyeti ile toksisite oluşturulan ratlarda borun (B) muhtemel koruyucu etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Bu amaçla Wistar albino 56 erkek rat kullanıldı. Her grupta 7 hayvan olacak şekilde, kontrol, gentamisin (100 mg/kg i.p.), B-5 (5 mg/kg B, i.p.), B-10 (10 mg/kg B, i.p.), B-20 (20 mg/kg B, i.p.), B-5 + gentamisin (5 mg/kg B ve 100 mg/kg gentamisin, i.p.), B-10 + gentamisin (10 mg/kg B ve 100 mg/kg gentamisin, i.p.), B-20 + gentamisin (20 mg/kg B ve 100 mg/kg gentamisin, i.p.) olarak 8 gruba ayrıldı. Ratlara B uygulaması gentamisin enjeksiyonundan 4 gün önce verilmeye başlandı. Gentamisin uygulamasına 4. gün başlandı ve 12. gün bu uygulama sonlandırıldı. Gentamisin uygulamasının bitişinden itibaren hayvanlara 2 gün daha B verildi. Uygulama sonunda hayvanlardan anestezi altında karaciğer, kalp, beyin, akciğer ve testis dokuları alındı. Gentamisinin karaciğer dokusunda malondialdehid düzeylerini arttırdığı, buna karşın redükte glutatyon düzeylerini, superoksid dismutaz ve katalaz aktivitelerini azalttığı tespit edildi. Histopatolojik incelemede gentamisinin dokularda hasar oluşturduğu gözlendi. Buna karşın, B uygulamasının gentamisin ile indüklenen hasarı azalttığı tespit edildi., The objective of this study was to determine the protective effects of boron on gentamicin induced toxicity in rats. Rats were divided into eight experimental groups containing seven animals in each group. Experimental groups were as follows; control group (fed without B), gentamicin group (100 mg/kg, i.p.), B-5 group (5 mg/kg B, i.p.), B-10 group (10 mg/kg B, i.p.), B-20 group (20 mg/kg B, i.p.), B-5 + gentamicin group (5 mg/kg B and 100 mg/kg gentamicin, i.p.), B-10 + gentamicin group (10 mg/kg B and 100 mg/kg gentamicin, i.p.), and B-20 + gentamicin group (20 mg/kg B and 100 mg/kg gentamicin, i.p.). B was given to rats before four days. Gentamicin was given to rats on the fourth day and finished on the twelfth day. Also, administration of B was completed the fourteenth day. End of the experiment, liver, hearth, brain, lung, and testis tissues were collected from animals under anaesthesia. Administration of gentamicin increased malondialdehyde levels whereas decreased reduce glutathione levels, superoxide dismutase and catalase activities in the liver. Histopathologically, damages were detected in the tissues of gentamicin group. However, treatment of boron resulted in a reversal of gentamicin-induced damages.

Bu çalışmada, Afyonkarahisar ilinin Gazlıgöl bölgesinden alınan kaplıca suyu ve bu suyun bekletilerek, distile ve deiyonize edilerek tüketilmesinin oksidan-antioksidan denge ve bazı biyokimyasal parametreler ile karaciğer ve böbrek dokusuna etkilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada her grupta 6 sıçan yer almıştır. 30 gün boyunca, deney grubundaki sıçanlara taze, bekletilmiş, deiyonize ve distile edilmiş kaplıca suyu, kontrol grubundakilere ise normal su verilmiştir. Deneme sonunda sıçanlardan kan numuneleri ile karaciğer, böbrek ve kalp doku örnekleri alınmıştır.Hemoglobin değeri bekletilmiş kaplıca suyu tüketen sıçanlarda taze ve deiyonize tüketen sıçanlara göre önemli oranda düşük olduğu gözlenmiştir(p, The objective of this research is to determine the effects of the consumption of the bottled, distilled and deionized versions of thermal water taken from the Gazlıgöl district in the city of Afyonkarahisar on the oxidant – antioxidant balance and on certain biochemical parameters, along with possible effects on liver and kidney tissue. The research involved 6 rats in each group. The experiment group was given fresh, bottled, deionized and distilled thermal water for 30 days whereas the control group was given normal water. Doğada birçok bileşiği bulunan, sanayi alanındaki kullanımının yanı sıra bitkiler için esansiyel bir element olan borun, canlıların metabolik ve fizyolojik olaylarında etkin bir rol oynadığı bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada, ilk kez borun embriyo gelişimine etkisinin in vivo olarak belirlenmesi amaçlandı. İn vivo değerlendirmede dişi ratlar her grupta 3 hayvan olacak şekilde, kontrol-pozitif (normal yem), kontrol-negatif (bor içermeyen), düşük (0.04 µg bor/ml), marjinal (0.3 µg bor/ml) ve normal (2 µg bor/ml) miktarda bor içeren diyetlerle beslenenler olarak 5 gruba ayrıldı. Dişi ratlar 14 gün boyunca beslendi ve çiftleşmeden sonra 10-13 günlük embriyolar gebelik süresince gruplardan toplandı. Embriyo gelişimleri morfolojik incelendi. Buna göre embriyoların morfolojik gelişim parametrelerinin bordan eksik diyetle beslenen grupta bor verilen gruplara kıyasla istatistiksel olarak azaldığı belirlendi. Sonuç olarak borun ratlarda embriyonel gelişimin şekillenmesinde önemli rol oynadığı sonucuna varıldı.

Cysticercus tenuicollis, köpek, tilki, çakal, kurt gibi karnivorların ince bağırsaklarında yaşayan Taenia hydatigena’nın larva formudur ve dünya üzerinde geniş bir yayılışa sahiptir. Bu form geviş getiren hayvanlar başta olmak üzere birçok küçük memeli hayvanda karaciğer dokusundaki göçü sırasında (Hepatitis cysticercosa) ve akciğerde (Pneumonitis cysticercosa) önemli patolojik bozukluklara sebep olur.Bu çalışmada Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Patoloji Anabilim Dalına getirilen 18 aylık bir koyunun ölüm sebebinin belirlenmesi amacıyla nekropsi yapılmış, organlar ve görülen patolojik lezyonlar paraziter açıdan değerlendirilmiştir. Nekropside karaciğer yüzeyinde birbirlerine paralel veya yer yer birbirlerini kesen yollar şeklinde çok sayıda kanama alanları ile içleri jelatinimsi sıvıyla dolu beyaz pirinç tanesi şeklinde parazit formasyonlarına rastlanmıştır. Bu değişiklikler aynı zamanda organın kesit yüzünde de görülmüştür. İç organlardan alınan kesitler tamponlu nötral formalin solüsyonunda 48 saat süreyle tespit edilmiştir. Doku takibinin ardından parafinde bloklanarak mikrotom aracılığı ile 5-6 mikron kalınlığında kesitler alınmıştır. Kesitlere hematoksilen-eozin (HE) boyası uygulanarak ışık mikroskobunda incelenmiştir. This form causes significant pathological disorder mainly during the migration in the liver (hepatitis cysticercosa) and lung (pneumonitis cysticercosa) especially in ruminants and many small mammals.In this study, necropsy was made determining of the cause of death of a 18 months sheep and it was evaluated organs and pathological lesions in terms of parasitic aspect which brought to Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Department of Pathology. During necropsy, it was found large number of hemorrhages as shape of parallel or crossing each other on the liver surface and it was seen interference forms as shape of white rice which filled with gelatinous liquid. These changes were also seen on the cut surface of organ. The sections taken from internal organs were fixed in neutral buffered formalin for 48 hours. After the following of tissue, it was blocked in paraffin and the sections were obtained via tissue microtome with 5-6 micron. The sections were examined by light microscopy that applied hematoxylin-eosin (HE). It was found cystic forms of the parasite and it caused lesions in liver, lungs and mesenterial lymph nodes in the histopathological examination. In addition, it was noted, peritonitis is accompanied on these findings. As a result, cysticercosis case was diagnosed which caused Hepatitis cysticercosa, Pneumonitis cysticercosa and Lenfadenitis cysticercosa by 18 month sheep.

Afyonkarahisar ili kaplıca suları bakımından zengin bir coğrafyada bulunması nedeniyle, yoğun bir kaplıca turizmi mevcuttur. Bu bölgedeki termal sular, yerel halk ve turist olarak gelen kişiler tarafından özellikle banyo ve içme kürü amaçlı kullanılmaktadır. Çalışmamız içme kürü uygulamasına yönelik olduğundan, içme kürü uygulamasında halk tarafından bilinen ve en çok kullanılan su kaynağından alınan suyun tüketilmesinin antioksidan göstergeler, biyokimyasal parametreler ve böbrek dokusu üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Çalışmamızda ratlara 30 gün süreyle kaplıca suyu, C vitamini eklenmiş kaplıca suyu, şebeke suyu, C vitamini eklenmiş şebeke suyu verilmiş ve 30 günün sonunda kan ve doku örnekleri alınmıştır. Çalışmamızda C vitamini güçlü bir antioksidan etki göstererek, C vitamini eklenen hem normal şebeke suyu hem de termal nitelikli su verilen gruplarda AST (Aspartat amino transaminaz) düzeyini düşürdüğü gözlendi. Kullanılan su kaynağının, AST düzeyini arttırıcı bir etkisi olduğu söylenebilir. Bu termal nitelikteki su tek başına verildiğinde böbrek fonksiyon göstergeleri olan üre, BUN, kreatinin değerlerini değiştirici bir etki göstermemiştir. Ancak C vitamini verilen gruplarda üre, BUN, ve kreatinin değerlerinde İstatistiksel anlamda bir düşüş gözlenmiştir. C vitamininin kaplıca suyuna göre daha etkili bir destek sağladığı düşünülebilir. Grupların histopatolojik veri değerlendirmesinde kaplıca suyu içirilen grupta renal alanda bowman kapsülü İle glomerül arasındaki açıklığın arttığı görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak, kaplıca suyu olarak kullandığımız termal nitelikteki suyun kalp dokusunda oksidatif ve dokusal hasara yol açabileceği, İçme küründen beklenen antioksidan ve onarıcı etkileri göstermeyebileceği kanaatine varılmıştır.

The testicular measurement is important criteria for experimental researches especially in toxicological studies and the prediction of spermatogenesis. In light of this knowledge, we aimed to estimate and compare these parameters in two different kinds of cattle breeds. The gross anatomical measurements were performed by vernier caliper, volume of the testis was estimated by Cavalieri method and seminiferous tubule diameter was measured on the histological sections by software-loaded computer attached to microscope. The mean testis weight, length, width, volume, and tubule diameter of the Simmental bulls and the Holstein bulls measured as 316 g, 12.1 cm, 6.9 cm, 295 cm3 and 226.68 µm and 299 g, 12.1 cm, 6.8 cm, 285 cm3 and 223.44 µm, respectively. In conclusion all investigated parameters were not found statistically important in groups and between the breeds (p>0.05). The authors believed that the obtained data will contribute to the literature and facilitate future research. La medición testicular es un criterio importante para las investigaciones experimentales sobre todo en los estudios toxicológicos y predicción de la espermatogénesis. El objetivo fue estimar y comparar estos parámetros en dos diferentes tipos de razas de ganado. Las mediciones anatómicas fueron realizadas con un pie de metro, el volumen de los testículos se estimó por el método de Cavalieri y el diámetro de los túbulos seminíferos se midió en las secciones histológicas observadas al microscopio mediante software. La Media del peso testicular, longitud, ancho, volumen y diámetro de los túbulos seminíferos de los toros Simmental fueron 316 g, 12,1 cm, 6,9 cm, 295 cm3 y 226,68 µm y de los toros Holstein fueron 299 g, 12,1 cm, 6,8 cm, 285 cm3 y 223,44 µm, respectivamente. En conclusión, todos los parámetros investigados no tuvieron una importante significación en los grupos y entre las razas (p> 0,05). Creemos que los datos obtenidos contribuirán a la literatura y facilitar las futuras investigaciones.

Afyonkarahisar ili kaplıca suları bakımından zengin bir coğrafyada bulunması nedeniyle, yoğun bir kaplıca turizmi mevcuttur. Bu bölgedeki termal sular, yerel halk ve turist olarak gelen kişiler tarafından özellikle banyo ve içme kürü amaçlı kullanılmaktadır. Çalışmamız içme kürü uygulamasına yönelik olduğundan, içme kürü uygulamasında halk tarafından bilinen ve en çok kullanılan su kaynağından alınan suyun tüketilmesinin antioksidan göstergeler, biyokimyasal parametreler ve böbrek dokusu üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Çalışmamızda ratlara 30 gün süreyle kaplıca suyu, C vitamini eklenmiş kaplıca suyu, şebeke suyu, C vitamini eklenmiş şebeke suyu verilmiş ve 30 günün sonunda kan ve doku örnekleri alınmıştır. Çalışmamızda C vitamini güçlü bir antioksidan etki göstererek, C vitamini eklenen hem normal şebeke suyu hem de termal nitelikli su verilen gruplarda AST (Aspartat amino transaminaz) düzeyini düşürdüğü gözlendi. Kullanılan su kaynağının, AST düzeyini arttırıcı bir etkisi olduğu söylenebilir. Bu termal nitelikteki su tek başına verildiğinde böbrek fonksiyon göstergeleri olan üre, BUN, kreatlnln değerlerini değiştirici bir etki göstermemiştir. Ancak C vitamini verilen gruplarda üre, BUN, ve kreatlnln değerlerinde İstatistiksel anlamda bir düşüş gözlenmiştir. C vitamininin kaplıca suyuna göre daha etkili bir destek sağladığı düşünülebilir. Grupların histopatolojik veri değerlendirmesinde kaplıca suyu İçirilen grupta renal alanda bovvman kapsülü İle glomerül arasındaki açıklığın arttığı görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak, kaplıca suyu olarak kullandığımız termal nitelikteki suyun kalp dokusunda oksidatif ve dokusal hasara yol açabileceği, İçme küründen beklenen antioksidan ve onarıcı etkileri göstermeyebileceği kanaatine varılmıştır. Thermal water tourism is intense in Afronkarahisar province where is in a geographical zone rich for thermal water sources. Thermal water in this zone is used for mainly bath and drinking cure by the local people and tourists. Because this study is an implementation of drinking cure, effects of antioxidant indicators, biochemical parameters and renal tissue were investigated for most widely consumed thermal water by the people. Thermal water, vitamin C added thermal water, tap water and vitamin C added tap water were given to the rats during 30 days.Tissue and blood samples were taken at the end of 30 days. Our study showed that vitamin C is a strong antioxidant effect. Decrease in AST (aspartate amino transaminase) levels were observed in Vitamin C groups. Used water resources can be said that additive effect on the level of AST. On urea, BUN and creatinin levels which are indicators of renal function observed no effect in only thermal water given group. However, levels of Urea, BUN and Creatinine in vitamin C given groups observed statistically significant decrease. It can be said that Vitamin C is more supportive than thermal water. In histopathologic examination of the groups has been identified increased expansion between Bowman's space and glomerul in the thermal water given group. Because, in this region, the thermal water is primarily used for dropping kidney As a result, the use of the thermal water may lead to oxidative and tissular damage in heart tissue. The thermal water as drinking cure may not indicate expected anti-oxidants and restorative effects.
