The objective of this article is to determine the degree of knowledge and attitudes of nursing personnel regarding biosecurity measures in a public hospital. This study focuses on the correct use of personal protective equipment and the constant exposure of the nursing staff to risks of infections and occupational accidents. The study is based on a quantitative approach, descriptive type with transversal cut, the study universe considered a Public Hospital of Ecuador, the population consisted of 135 nursing professionals, and for the sample was taken into account the total population under a non-probabilistic sample, called by convenience, for the data collection technique was used the survey. Based on this, the statistical analysis of the results was carried out with the organization and presentation of simple tables, using the SPSS program. In this study it was possible to demonstrate the existence of a minimum degree of ignorance of 4% on the part of the nursing personnel, who do not know or omit the change of gloves, hand washing and the use of complete protective equipment, due to lack of supplies or lack of adequate knowledge., El objetivo de este articulo es determinar el grado de conocimiento y actitudes del personal de enfermería frente a las medidas de bioseguridad en un hospital público. Este estudio se enfoca en el uso correcto de los equipos de protección personal y la exposición constante que se encuentra el personal de enfermería a riesgos de infecciones y accidentes laborales. El estudio realizado se basa en un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo descriptivo con corte transversal, el universo de estudio consideró un Hospital Público del Ecuador, la población consistió en 135 profesionales de enfermería, y para la muestra se tomó en cuenta el total de la población bajo un muestro no probabilístico, denominado por conveniencia, para la técnica de recolección de datos se hizo uso de la encuesta. En base a ello, el análisis estadístico de los resultados se lo realizó con la organización y presentación de tablas simples, a partir del programa SPSS. En este estudio se pude demostrar la existencia de un grado de desconocimiento mínimo el 4% por parte del personal de enfermería, que omiten el cambio de guantes, el lavado de manos y el uso de equipo de protección completo, por falta de insumos o no se tiene el conocimiento adecuado.

Introduction: Overwork, bad conditions for the worker, as well as other details, many times imperceptible, cause work-related diseases. An occupational disease is a disease produced as a consequence of working conditions, for example: pneumoconiosis, allergic alveolitis, lumbago, carpal tunnel syndrome, occupational exposure to pathogenic germs, various types of cancer, etc. Objective: To identify the incidence of occupational diseases present in the nursing staff working at the General Hospital Teófilo Dávila, through a survey applied to nursing professionals and an updated bibliographic review. Methods: The type of study is transversal because the information was collected on a single occasion at the General Hospital Teófilo Dávila, being also quantitative because a survey was applied to nursing professionals, which was validated and allowed by the management staff of the Hospital. It was also descriptive since a systematic search was made of scientific information in high impact journals of the last 5 years. Results: Of the 41 nursing graduates surveyed, 28 reported being female, representing 68.3% of the total number of respondents, and the remaining 13 reported being male, representing 31.7% of the total, suggesting that more than 50% of the professionals working in this health centre are female. Conclusions: The nursing professional has a high rate of occupational accidents or illnesses, due to the fact that they are exposed to risks that cause different illnesses on a daily basis, Introducción: El exceso de trabajo, las malas condiciones para el trabajador, así como otros detalles, muchas veces imperceptibles, ocasionan enfermedades relacionadas con el trabajo. Se denomina Enfermedad Profesional a una enfermedad producida a consecuencia de las condiciones del trabajo, por ejemplo: neumoconiosis, alveolitis alérgica, lumbago, síndrome del túnel carpiano, exposición profesional a gérmenes patógenos, diversos tipos de cáncer, etc. Objetivo: Identificar la incidencia de enfermedades profesionales presentes en el personal de enfermería que labora en el Hospital General Teófilo Dávila, a través de una encuesta aplicada a los profesionales de enfermería y revisión bibliográfica actualizada. Métodos: El tipo de estudio es transversal debido a que se lo recolecto la información en una sola ocasión en el Hospital General Teófilo Dávila, siendo tambien de tipo cuantitativa ya que se aplicó una encuesta dirigida hacia los profesionales de enfermería, el cual fue validado y permitido por el personal de gerencia del Hospital. Tambien fue descriptiva ya que se hizo búsqueda sistemática de información científica en revistas de alto impacto de los últimos 5 años. Resultados: De los 41 licenciados en enfermería encuestados, 28 señalaron ser de sexo femenino representando al 68,3% del total de encuestados, y los 13 restantes señalaron ser de sexo masculino siendo el 31,7% del total, Dando a entender que más del 50% de los profesionales que laboran en esta casa de salud son de sexo femenino. Conclusiones: El profesional de enfermería tiene un alto índice de accidentes o enfermedades laborales, debido a que su exposición a riesgos causantes de diferentes enfermedades es diaria.

The role of nurses is essential in the delivery of health services, playing a crucial role in the care and well-being of patients. Materials and methods: A quantitative and descriptive approach was used, Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was used with a sample of 81 professionals, resulting in a score of 0.625, which is acceptable for the research. Results: 64.3% (31 to 41 years of age), 55.5% (6 to 10 years of work experience), 85.2% with a degree in nursing, in relation to the evaluation of workload 43.2% complexity, 39.5 overtime, 35.8 insufficient staff, 54.3 rest during the working day; Evaluation of the incidence of occupational accidents 45.7 has experienced, 49.4 work fatigue, 4.9% training; mental workload 40.7% requires concentration, 42% is exhausting. Conclusion: A significant proportion of nursing professionals experience considerable mental workload, with a high level of concentration required and notable mental exhaustion at the end of the workday., La función del personal de enfermería es esencial en la entrega de servicios de salud, desempeñando un papel crucial en la atención y el bienestar de los pacientes. Materiales y métodos: Se usó un enfoque cuantitativo y descriptivo, se utilizó el coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach con una muestra de 81 profesionales, dio como resultado de 0,625 el cual es aceptable para la investigación. Resultados: Se obtuvieron el 64,3% (31 a 41 años de edad), 55,5% (6 a 10 años de experiencia laboral), 85,2% licenciados/as en Enfermería, en relación a la evaluación de la carga laboral 43,2% complejidad, 39,5 horas extras, 35,8 personal insuficiente, 54,3 descanso durante la jornada laboral; Evaluación de la incidencia de accidentes ocupacionales 45,7 ha experimentado, 49,4 fatiga laboral, 4,9% capacitación; carga mental 40,7% requiere concentración, 42% es agotador. Conclusión: Una proporción significativa de profesionales de enfermería experimenta una carga mental considerable, con un alto nivel de concentración requerido y un notable agotamiento mental al final de la jornada laboral.

Currently, there is a growing interest in the study of fertility because fertility-related problems affect up to 15% of the world’s population. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of the Mediterranean diet on seminal quality in men of reproductive age. For this purpose, a systematic review of the literature was carried out following the PRISMA method. Electronic searches were carried out in the international databases PubMed, Scopus, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science. In total, 10 articles with 2032 men were included. As inclusion criteria, articles published between 2012 and 2022 were selected, including those that included men aged between 18 and 55 years. Nutritional status was assessed through weight, height, and BMI. Dietary habits were evaluated through different indexes and food frequency questionnaires, and finally, semen quality was evaluated by measuring sperm concentration and motility (progressive and non-progressive). In six (60%) of the included articles, a positive relationship between adherence to the Mediterranean diet and semen quality was demonstrated; in two (20%) of the articles, no association was found; and finally, in two (20%) of the included articles, the relationship between dietary patterns typical of DM and semen quality was evaluated. Dietary habits influence semen quality. Adherence to the Mediterranean diet can improve male reproductive health, as it is a diet with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. This is the first systematic review about the influence of the Mediterranean diet on semen quality, and the results are positive. These findings may allow us to provide better advice to our patients and to establish interventions with the aim of improving the results of assisted reproduction techniques.

FUNDAMENTOS // Actualmente, la esterilidad afecta a entre el 15% y 20% de las parejas en edad fértil. El éxito reproductivo femenino está determinado fundamentalmente por la edad y la reserva ovárica (RO). Recientes estudios remarcan la influencia de factores modificables como los hábitos dietéticos y el estado nutricional en la RO. A este respecto, la Dieta Mediterránea (DM) se postula como un estándar de alimentación saludable. Por ende, el objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la influencia de la adherencia a la DM y el estado nutricional en la RO de mujeres estériles. MÉTODOS // Se efectuó un estudio descriptivo transversal, de un año de duración, entre los meses de febrero de 2022 y febrero de 2023, en una muestra de cuarenta y cinco pacientes de sexo femenino que acudieron a la consulta de Ginecología-Esterilidad en el Hospital Marina Salud de Denia (España) por deseo genésico mayor a un año. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo de carácter exploratorio basado en una estadística univariable. RESULTADOS // El estudio incluyó una muestra total de cuarenta y cinco mujeres (n=45) siendo la media de edad de 31,84 (±3,99) años, siendo el IMC medio de 26,27 (±6,08) kg/m2, teniendo el 44,4% (n=20) un IMC por encima de los valores normales. En cuanto a la RO, se midió en base a la AMH, siendo el valor promedio de 2,32 (±1,59) ng/ml, y al RFA, siendo la media de 19,80 (±14,13) folículos antrales. Se encontró una asociación estadísticamente significativa entre la baja adherencia a la DM y menores niveles de hormona antimülleriana (AMH; p=0,025). Además, se determinó una asociación entre el bajo consumo de verduras y hortalizas (p=0,044), el excesivo consumo de carne roja (p=0,027) y de bebidas carbonatadas (p=0,015) con insuficientes niveles de AMH, indicativos de baja RO. Female reproductive success is mainly determined by age and ovarian reserve (OR). Recent studies highlight the influence of modifiable factors such as dietary habits and nutritional status on OR. In this regard, the Mediterranean Diet (MD) is postulated as a standard of healthy eating. Therefore, the objective of this paper was to analyze the influence of adherence to DM and nutritional status on the OR of infertile women. METHODS // A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, lasting one year, between February 2022 and February 2023, in a sample of forty-five female patients who attended the Gynaecology-Esterility consultation at the Marina Salud Hospital in Denia (Spain) due to genital desire older than one year. An exploratory descriptive analysis based on univariate statistics was performed. RESULTS // The mean age of the sample (n=45) was 31.84 (±3.99) years, with an average BMI of 26.27 (±6.08) kg/m2, with 44.4% (n=20) having excess body weight. The RO was measured based on AMH, with an average value of 2.32 (±1.59) ng/ml and RFA, with an average of 19.80 (±14.13) antral follicles. A statistically significant association was found between low adherence to DM and lower anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH; p=0.025) levels. In addition, an association was found between low consumption of vegetables (p=0.044), excessive consumption of red meat (p=0.027) and carbonated beverages (p=0.015) with insufficient AMH levels, indicative of low OR. Low fruit consumption was also found to be associated with low oestradiol levels (p=0.045). Statistically significant associations were also found reflecting the influence of nutritional status on OR. CONCLUSIONS // One of the main factors conditioning the success of ART (assisted reproductive technology) is the woman’s OR. The most widely used parameter to assess OR is AMH. Lifestyle and diet are modifiable factors that can influence OR.

The present work has as a general objective, to reflect on the role of the public accountant in the expertise of economic crimes. For the scope of this purpose, a research design based on documentary analysis was required, which was supported by a study where information was collected online in a scientific and academic database where there was access to brochures, theses and articles from specialized web magazines. The results allow us to observe the classification of economic crimes such as fraud, crimes against the market, frustration of the execution, punishable insolvencies, money laundering, against the Public Treasury and Social Security. In the determination of this type of crime, the accounting professional is required, in his capacity as an expert, with extensive experience in analysis of calculations and operations, in this sense, he is the guarantor of providing accounting information for decision-making in a court level. Which requires honest professionals in the fulfillment of their functions and in the observance of four basic requirements: Credibility, Professionalism, Quality of Service, and Trust, established in the Code of Ethics of the Professional Accountant of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). , in order to prevent the appearance and progress of criminal realities such as current economic crimes., El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo general, reflexionar acerca del rol del contador público en el peritaje de delitos económicos. Para el alcance de dicho propósito, se requirió de un diseño de investigación basado en el análisis documental, el cual tuvo su soporte en un estudio donde se recolectó información vía online en base de datos de naturaleza científica y académica donde se tuvo acceso a folletos, tesis y artículos de revistas web especializadas. Los resultados permiten observar la tipificación de los delitos económicos como la estafa, delitos contra el mercado, frustración de la ejecución, insolvencias punibles, blanqueo de capitales, contra la Hacienda Pública y la Seguridad Social. En la determinación de este tipo de delitos, se requiere del profesional de la contabilidad, en su calidad de perito, con amplia experiencia en análisis de cálculos y operaciones, en tal sentido, es el garante de arrojar información contable para la toma de decisiones en un nivel judicial. Lo cual requiere de profesionales probos en el cumplimiento de sus funciones y en la observancia de cuatro exigencias básicas: Credibilidad, Profesionalismo, Calidad del Servicio, y Confianza, establecidos en el Código de Ética del Contador Profesional de la Federación Internacional de Contadores (IFAC), a fin de evitar la aparición y el avance de realidades delictivas como los delitos económicos actuales.

Background: Nowadays, there is a growing interest in the relationship among lifestyle, reproductive health, and fertility. Recent investigations highlight the influence of environmental and lifestyle factors such as stress, diet, and nutritional status on reproductive health. The aim of this review was to determine the influence of nutritional status on ovarian reserve in order to improve the reproductive health of women of childbearing age. Methods: A systematic literature review was carried out following the PRISMA method. The quality of the studies was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration Risk of Bias tool. Data were extracted, and the results were summarized into two blocks: according to the technique used to assess ovarian reserve and nutritional status; according to the results found in the relationship between ovarian reserve and nutritional status. Results: A total of 22 articles involving 5929 women were included. In 12 of the included articles (54.5%), a relationship between nutritional status and ovarian reserve was demonstrated. In seven publications (31.8%), the increased body mass index (BMI) led to a decrease in ovarian reserve, two of them (0.9%) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, showing a decrease only if BMI > 25. In two articles (0.9%), there was a negative relationship between ovarian reserve and waist-to-hip ratio, and in one (0.45%), a positive relationship was shown between ovarian reserve and testosterone levels, the latter being related to body mass index. In five articles (22.7%), body mass index was used as a confounder and was negatively related to ovarian reserve, and in another four (18%), no correlation was found. Conclusions: Ovarian reserve appears to be influenced by nutritional status. A high body mass index has a negative impact on the ovary, decreasing antral follicle count and anti-Müllerian hormone. Introduction: Pregnancy is a transcendent period for the mother and the fetus, characterized by an increase on energy requirements. Mediterranean diet (MD) is considered a healthy eating pattern that can provide the nutritional requirements of pregnancy and protect from the development of obstetric pathologies. Objective: To know the relationship between adherence to the MD and its maternal-fetal benefits. Methodology: A systematic review was conducted by identifying articles in the PubMed and Cochrane databases. The publication date of the studies was between 2010 and 2020, and the inclusion criteria established were that the articles were written in English and Spanish and were accessible in full text. Studies concerning assisted reproduction, gene modulation, conference abstracts, systematic reviews, and pilot studies were excluded. Results: Finally, a total of 14 studies were included in the review. The association between the MD and the reduction of some pathologies of pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes, overweight or obesity, sleep quality, complications of childbirth, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and alterations in fetal growth was demonstrated, as well as perinatal problems, including birth weight, prematurity, gastroschisis, and other childhood problems. Conclusion: The MD is an optimal diet to consume during pregnancy.

Looking at the compositional dimension of publications allows us to think about the relationships between literature and periodicals based on what the magazines expose and offer to the view/read and how they do it. Journals can be considered as intermediaries (Chartier) with specific modes of display (Rogers). Within the framework of these definitions, I propose to study the relationships between journals, literature and publishing practices in Samuel Glusberg’s journal Babel, published between 1921 and 1929, trying to pinpoint two distinct moments that corresponded to particular strategies of material organization of the publication that impacted and shaped the very notion of literature within the journal. During the first stage, as Revista de Arte y Crítica (n.° 1 – n.° 12), it articulated what it considered artistic practices through the mediation of a critical word about what it circumscribed within the term art. During the second period, as Revista de Bibliografía (n.° 13 – n.° 29), there was a clear change in the architecture of Babel; this change was linked to a movement of editorial specialization that imbued the journal with the same name, founded in 1922, and brought it closer to the catalogue form., Olhar para a dimensão composicional das publicações permite pensar as relações entre literatura e periódicos a partir do que as revistas expõem e oferecem ao olhar/lido e como o fazem. Os periódicos podem ser considerados como intermediários (Chartier) com modos específicos de exibição (Rogers). No âmbito dessas definições, proponho-me a estudar as relações entre periódicos, literatura e práticas editoriais na revista Babel, de Samuel Glusberg, publicada entre 1921 e 1929, tentando apontar dois momentos distintos que corresponderam a estratégias particulares de organização material da publicação que impactaram e moldaram a própria noção de literatura dentro da revista. Na primeira etapa, como Revista de Arte e Crítica (n.° 1 – n.° 12), articulou o que considerava práticas artísticas por meio da mediação de uma palavra crítica sobre o que circunscrevia no termo arte.
