This contribution is inspired by a current scenario regarding the city of Naples, Italy, where a strong popular uprising is underway against local institutions that are destroying the Camorra murals celebrating its “heroes” died in “war”. These events are very interesting to analyse the theme of the iconographic exploitation of urban space by the criminal part of society in order to amplify the identity symbols of a tribal structure such as the Camorra. While on the one hand the analysis aims to show the positive response of civil society and institutions in eradicating these celebratory icons of evil, on the other hand the research intends to emphasise the profound and worrying systemic modification of public space according to subjective and negative canons that, however, are also shared by some intellectuals and even an administrative court.

The process of awareness of the value of environmental sustainability is currently changing, also due to the the media lever that has catalyzed its dynamics both individually and collectively ones. At a European level, particularly, with the von der Leyen presidency, the orientations based on a vision linked to the Green Deal seem to have strengthened even more, according to which Europe must aim to become the first continent with zero climate impact by 2050, at the same time stimulating the economy, improving people’s health and quality of life, taking care of nature and in the absence of geographical differentials. The real effectiveness of these actions, however, will only materialize where integrated approaches will be adopted able to improve other variables directly related to the propensity for environmental sustainability. The present contribution, through a multivariate regressive analysis, a clustering methodology and the related cartographic representation, therefore tries to understand which are, in the Italian scenario (Nuts 3 scale), these socio-economic variables of possible influence, in order to clarify the territorial differentials that can be detected in the domain of sustainability.

A fundamental objective for the effectiveness and, above all, for the efficiency of the dynamics of environmental sustainability is related to the correct directing of project actions towards those areas that need them most. This contribution intends to verify whether the spatial distribution of eco-innovation projects in some regions of Southern Italy affects areas characterized by greater environmental fragility. The proposed approach highlights a centrality of the spatial perspective, thus underlining how important and necessary it is for political actors to evaluate the goodness of projects not in absolute terms but in relation to their relationship with the territory in which they are implemented. To this end, the methodology used envisages two actions, a cartographic comparison between the distribution of environmental projects and that of environmental fragility and an analytical evaluation of the spatial autocorrelation between contiguous areas to detect any geographical determinisms. The results show a “positive” independence regarding the presence of ecoinnovation even in the absence of environmental fragility but not vice versa

Il presente contributo, partendo dai dati del Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), il principale database delle agenzie investigative del governo statunitense, analizza da un punto di vista geografico le dinamiche relative all’andamento dei posti di lavoro nei diversi settori produttivi pre- e post-pandemia.L’approccio metodologico proposto si basa su un test di ipotesi bivalente. Una prima ipotesi è relativa alla possibile differenziazione geografica tra gli Stati, in relazione alle variazioni nel numero dei posti di lavoro persi e recuperati. Una seconda ipotesi attiene alla possibile differenziazione tra i vari settori produttivi a cui i dati si riferiscono.I risultati hanno mostrato tre particolari evidenze, una forte omogeneità delle variazioni analizzate tra tutti gli Stati, una particolare autocorrelazione spaziale riconoscibile sia negli Stati caratterizzati da perdite maggiori, sia in quelli a minore e media intensità di perdite, e infine, un’assenza di differenziali settoriali.

La pandemia di Covid-19 ha generato rilevanti ripercussioni non solo sotto l’aspetto sanitario e umano, ma anche in termine di produzione di beni e servizi. I governi nazionali hanno assunto un inedito ruolo nella sfera economica e, parallelamente, imprese, lavoratori e consumatori hanno dovuto adattarsi alle varie misure imposte dagli Stati e reagire alle condizioni presenti nei mercati. Questo contributo presenta come si inserisce lo shock pandemico nello studio della globalizzazione e vuole illustrare qual è stata reazione alla crisi sanitaria delle imprese italiane implicate in relazioni con l’estero. I dati evidenziano come le imprese che nella fase pre-Covid avevano trainato la performance dell’export tendono a reagire con maggiore determinazione alla crisi indotta dalla pandemia.

The disruptive explosion of technology that has characterised these last decades has, erroneously, been considered in an early period as the main plan of interest for the studies of global phenomena, especially smart phenomena, while instead the exact opposite is true, because these phenomena represent projections of the new micro-urban phenomena that are seen in smart cities and in the corollaries related to smart urbanism. The most significant emblematic smart urban elements are able to highlight the transition towards new sociocultural paradigms at a global level, which constitute and represent the theoretical foundations of every current process of urban regeneration and renewal. Since the 1980s when the informatics revolution exploded, the magnitude of the revolutionary effects on, first, urban and second, global paradigms have been continuously determined by smart urbanism, as touched upon within the current analysis. It makes sense to reflect on the most relevant transition, in terms of urban planning implications, that has already characterised the course of history and which seems to be recurring in another form: the transition from a hunter-gatherer society to a farmer society by the use of advanced technologies. This transition is currently fully present, in which urban environments become smart cities and smart work becomes prey. Therefore, the citizens are moving away from hunters of traditional work and are increasingly becoming farmers of smart work. The current paper, based on theoretical reflections, reviews research in the field to highlight that there are conflicting views in smart city planning and analyses the concept of smart urbanism with historical comparisons, focusing on both positive and negative urban implications.

Mentre da un lato diversi studi hanno documentato lo straordinario incremento dell’uso di applicazioni mobili, soprattutto con riferimento alla piattaforma social Instragram nella fascia di età minore dei trenta anni, ancora poche analisi sono state condotte sui particolari impieghi del tempo dedicato a tali applicazioni e sulle loro finalità e meno ancora si sa sul loro utilizzo per la conoscenza e la fruizione digitale di beni culturali, in particolare di musei e gallerie che stanno rapidamente adeguandosi a offrire interfacce digitali. Nel presente contributo, dopo una riflessione teorica sul tema, si propone un’analisi empirica finalizzata a rilevare l’eventuale azione di accrescimento dell’interesse verso i beni culturali mediante fruizione digitale di soggetti a basso tasso di scolarizzazione.
