Ethylene is the most common ripening phytohormone in fruits, and excess ethylene can overripen the fruit. However, the in-field detection of ethylene is still limited. In this work, ultrafine Pd nanoparticles-decorated porous ZnO nanosheets (UPNP ZnO nanosheets) were conveniently synthesized through a facile solvent reduction method. The UPNP ZnO nanosheets were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrum, X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The ZnO nanosheets were uniformly coated with Pd nanoparticles. The size of the Pd nanoparticle was very small, with a diameter of approximately 2 nm. Due to the unique structure of the porous ZnO nanosheets and the excellent catalytic properties of the ultrafine Pd nanoparticles, the as-prepared samples showed very high sensing performance in ethylene detection. The lowest detection concentration was 10 ppb, which is the lowest detection limit to our knowledge. It has been proved that the decoration of ultrafine Pd nanoparticles can largely increase the relative percentage of chemisorbed oxygen and deficient oxygen, which are benefits for ethylene oxidation, and actually accelerate the process of the sensing reaction. Furthermore, the UPNP ZnO nanosheets can even be applied in fruit maturity detection. Using mangos as an example, our experiment revealed that the response of UPNP ZnO nanosheets to mangos at different maturity stages was quite different. This result suggests that our product has broad application prospects in monitoring fruit ripening stage.

A novel and convenient photocatalytic cyclization of terminal alkynes for the construction of 4-sulfonylquinoline-2(1H)-ones by radical Markovnikov addition/6-endo-trig cyclization/selective C(O)–CF3 bond cleavage was disclosed.

A simple palladium-based catalytic system for hydrosulfonylation of allenamides was established. Various nitrogen-containing linear allylic sulfones can be generated in moderate to excellent yield with E-selectivity and 100% atom utilization.

As an important ecological barrier for the North China Plain, research on the spatial variations of soil nutrients in the southern foot of the Taihang Mountains is of great significance for the forestry ecological construction in this rocky mountainous area. With the typical slopes (the artificial forestland and the natural wild slope) of the southern foot of the Taihang Mountains as the research objects, we used the grid method to arrange sampling points, and combined classical statistics, geostatistics and constrained sorting methods to analyze the spatial variations of soil nutrients. Accurate spatial distribution information of soil properties would be helpful for improving the accuracy of soil organic carbon storage estimation. In this study, terrain factors were used as predictors, and the fuzzy C-means (FCM) clustering method was used to make digital soil prediction mapping for soil organic carbon content, soil bulk density, soil depth, and soil gravel content in Nanshan forest farm in Jiyuan City of Henan Province. Based on the digital mapping results, the prediction mapping of soil organic carbon density and the estimation of soil organic carbon storage were realized. The results showed that the average soil organic carbon density in the study area based on the digital soil mapping method was 4.24 kg·m精准的土壤属性空间分布信息有助于提升土壤有机碳储量估算的精度。本研究以河南省济源市南山林场为研究区,以地形因子为预测因子,利用模糊C均值(FCM)聚类方法对土壤有机碳含量、土壤容重、土壤厚度和土壤砾石含量进行数字土壤预测制图,基于数字制图结果实现土壤有机碳密度预测制图和土壤有机碳储量估算。结果表明: 基于数字土壤制图方法得到的研究区土壤有机碳密度平均值为4.24 kg·m

In this work, a novel low-cost adsorbent MgO porous nanoplates modified pumice (MgO@Pumice) was developed through a facile wet chemistry method. Characterization studies were performed using XRD, SEM, TEM and EDS analysis. The results indicate that the pumice is capsuled by huge number of huge number of MgO porous nanoplates. The individual MgO porous nanoplates is about several tens of micrometers in width and 50 nm in thickness. The loading amount of the MgO porous nanoplates can be conveniently adjust by control the growth cycles, and the loading amount of the MgO porous nanoplates on pumice would reaches 2.14 g/g. The fluoride adsorption performances of the MgO@Pumice samples were investigated. With the increase of growth cycles, the fluoride adsorption performances of the MgO@pumice samples steady increase. The MgO@pumice-6 exhibits the best fluoride adsorption property, and the adsorption capacity is larger than 37.9 mg/g at neutral. The absorbent also showed high fluoride removal ability in a wide pH range of 2–10. The adsorption mechanism also has been studied. The column test indicates that 324 bed volumes can be treated with the effluent under 1.0 mg/L. It is believed that the low-cost MgO@Pumice adsorbent can be used in a packed bed for the removal of fluoride from drinking water.

Cold recycling technology is a widely applied asphalt pavement rehabilitation technology. The properties of emulsified asphalt residues after water evaporates play an important role in the performance of the asphalt pavement. This paper investigates the rheological and fatigue properties of emulsified asphalt residues under different evaporation methods. Two different matrix asphalt binders and emulsifiers were selected to prepare the emulsified asphalt. Moreover, the direct heating method (DHM) and the EN13074 and ASTM D7497-09 evaporation methods were used to obtain emulsified asphalt residues. Furthermore, the linear viscoelasticity, the permanent deformation resistance, and the fatigue resistance were evaluated by the temperature sweep and frequency sweep tests, the multiple stress creep recovery (MSCR) test, and the linear amplitude sweep (LAS) test, respectively. The test results show that under the three evaporation conditions, the growth amplitude order of the rutting factor, recovery percent, complex modulus, and fatigue life of emulsified asphalt residues is ASTM D7497-09 > EN13074 > DHM, and as is the attenuation amplitude order of the nonrecoverable creep compliance and phase angle. The results reveal that the evaporation process leads to oxidation and hardening of the residues. The hardening degree of the ASTM D7497-09 evaporation method is higher than that of the EN13074 evaporation method, and the hardening degree of the EN13074 evaporation method is higher than that of the direct heating method. The rheological and fatigue performances of the emulsified asphalt residues depend on the matrix asphalt. Moreover, the residue that was prepared from 70# asphalt has good high-temperature and fatigue properties, but it has higher temperature sensitivity and stress sensitivity.

Although temozolomide (TMZ) is the most effective chemotherapy agent for glioma, chemotherapy resistance has limited its clinical use. Fluoxetine (FLT), which is widely used in cancer-related depression, has exhibited potent anticancer properties in different cancer cell types. The aim of this study was i) to evaluate the antitumor mechanism of FLT, and ii) to further evaluate the effects of a combination of FLT and TMZ on glioma cells. Glioma cell lines were exposed to FLT and/or TMZ. Cell viability and apoptosis were examined by CCK-8 assay, flow cytometry and caspase-3 activity assay, respectively. The expression of endoplasmic reticulum-stress (ERS) apoptosis-related proteins was measured using real-time PCR and western blotting. Synergism between the two drugs was evaluated by the combination index (CI) through CompuSyn software. FLT significantly and dose-dependently inhibited the proliferation of various glioma cell lines, and rat glioma C6 cells had a highly sensitive response to the addition of FLT. FLT treatment increased the early apoptosis rate, induced typical apoptotic morphology in the C6 cells and activated caspase-3 with no change in the mitochondrial membrane potential. Further study showed that FLT activated the ERS marker, CHOP. This induction was associated with activation of the PERK-eIF2α-ATF4 and ATF6 cascade. Concomitantly, GADD34, a downstream molecule of CHOP, was also increased. Combined FLT and TMZ treatment showed a synergistic cytotoxic effect in the C6 glioma cells. Knockdown of CHOP expression abolished the synergistic effect of FLT and TMZ in the C6 cells, which suggests that FLT may sensitize glioma cells to TMZ through activation of the CHOP-dependent apoptosis pathway. These results revealed that FLT induced glioma cell apoptosis and sensitized glioma cells to TMZ through activation of the CHOP-dependent apoptosis pathway. The present study provides a primary basis for using the combination of these drugs in patients with advanced glioma.

The accuracy and precision of predictions of soil texture based on visible–near-infrared (Vis-NIR) spectra are affected by the soil moisture content at the time of measurement. This study aimed to quantify these effects. We also developed a method to improve the accuracy of soil texture prediction when the difference in moisture content is large and unknown, as is usually the case in field measurements. Reflection spectra (380–2400 nm) of 89 soil samples were obtained in the laboratory under nine moisture conditions. Prediction models for each moisture condition were built separately using partial least-squares (PLS) regression. Each model was applied to independent validation sets under the same moisture condition as the calibration sets, and then the model based on air-dried soils (dry model) was applied to the other eight moisture conditions to quantify the effect of soil moisture on the prediction accuracy. Finally, the perpendicular drought index (PDI) was used as an indicator of soil moisture, and the nine moisture conditions were regrouped to four groups using the PDI. Prediction models for each group with the same PDI were built and evaluated. The results show that Vis-NIR spectra can be directly applied to predict the soil texture of soils in different known moisture states. When the moisture state is unknown, the models based on PDI grouping markedly improve prediction accuracy. The RMSEₚ of prediction from PDI-grouped models of prediction of the content of clay and sand separates were between 1 and 2% and between 8 and11%, respectively, for the different moisture classes. This method has potential for direct application in the field with on-the-go sensors.

The reactions occurred through sulfonylation/6-exo-dig/6-exo-trig bicyclization/in situ desulfonylation/5-exo-trig cyclization/alkyl or alkenyl migration cascade mechanism to give benzo[j]phenanthridines regioselectively.

A catalytic domino spirocyclization of 1,7-enynes with simple cycloalkanes and cyclo-1,3-dicarbonyls has been established via multiple C-C bond formations from alkynyl/alkenyl functions and dual α,α-C(sp(3))-H abstraction/insertion. The reaction involves addition, 6-exo-dig cyclization and radical coupling sequences under convenient catalytic conditions and provides a concise access to spiro cyclopenta[c]quinolines in good to excellent yields.

A very popular method to analyze the quadrifilar helix antenna is by equalizing it into two mutually perpendicular dipoles and two mutually perpendicular magnetic dipoles. In most of the available literature analyzing the quadrifilar helix antenna by using circular array theory has not been reported. In this paper quadrifilar helix antenna is equivalent to a circular array antenna which is consisted of four helix antennas along the ring. By this method the radiation pattern and polarization of helix, bifilar helix, trifilar helix and five-arm helix antenna are proposed and researched. When the number of the arm of multi-arm helix antennas is more than two, the radiation patterns are similar, they have a wide beam, wide 3 dB axial ratio radiation pattern on the meridian plane and omnidirectional radiation pattern on the equatorial plane. And a trifialr helix antenna is modeled and simulated. Simulation results show that the proposed antenna exhibits the gain of 5.8 dB in the maximum radiation direction, half power beamwidth of 2θ 05 =120°, 3 dB axial ratio of θ = 155° on the meridian plane, and omnidirectional radiation pattern on the equatorial plane, and the reflection coefficient |S n

A new catalytic difluorohydration of β-alkynyl ketones using NFSI as the fluorinating reagent has been established, diastereoselectively furnishing a range of structurally diverse difluoride 1,5-dicarbonyl products through C(sp3)–H fluorination. Notably, the sterically encumbered t-butyl functionality located at the α-position of the carbonyl group of substrates 1 showed excellent diastereoselectivity (up to >99 : 1 dr). The reaction enabled multiple bond-forming events including two C(sp3)–F formation through Ag-catalysis to provide a highly efficient and practical method toward difluoride 1,5-dicarbonyls, some of which were successfully converted into difluorinated isoquinolines.

In the present study, two new trinor-guaiane sesquiterpenes, named clavuridins B (1), and A (2), along with three known sesquiterpenes (3-5), were isolated from the Xisha soft coral Clavularia viridis. Their structures and absolute configurations were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis with Cu Kα radiation and by comparison with related model compounds. Compounds 1 and 3-5 were evaluated for their cytotoxic activity.

On account of the design method shortcomings of cold recycled (CR) mixture with emulsified asphalt,the material compatibility problems between emulsifier and asphalt and RAP were researched,by which the key indicators of emulsified asphalt and the emulsifying effect of different kinds of emulsifier for asphalt is concluded, and summarizes the basic principles of special emulsified asphalt selection for the high-performance CR technology. On the basis of the research at home and abroad, the early strength evaluation methods and indicators are also discussed in this paper that puts forward to three kinds of test methods: cohesive test, raving loss test, coreability test.Finally,the evaluation method was verified in practical project and reached the effect to be hoped.

A new metal-free oxidative hydrophosphinylation of 1,7-enynes for forming polyfunctionalized 3,4-dihydroquinolin-2(1H)-ones has been realized using readily accessible diarylphosphine oxide and TBPB as an oxidant. The reaction pathway involves an in situ-generated P-centered radical-triggered α,β-conjugate addition/6-exo-dig cyclization/H-abstraction sequence, providing a direct and promising protocol for the formation of C–P, C–C and C–H bonds and rapid construction of complex heterocyclic compounds.

The reaction pathway involves in situ-generated sulfonyl radical-triggered α,β-conjugated addition/6-exo-dig cyclization/radical coupling sequence, resulting in continuous multiple bond-forming events including C-S, C-C and C-I (or C-Br) bonds to rapidly build up molecular complexity.

The use of landscape covariates to estimate soil properties is not suitable for the areas of low relief due to the high variability of soil properties in similar topographic and vegetation conditions. A new method was implemented to map regional soil texture (in terms of sand, silt and clay contents) by hypothesizing that the change in the land surface diurnal temperature difference (DTD) is related to soil texture in case of a relatively homogeneous rainfall input. To examine this hypothesis, the DTDs from moderate resolution imagine spectroradiometer (MODIS) during a selected time period, i.e., after a heavy rainfall between autumn harvest and autumn sowing, were classified using fuzzy-c-means (FCM) clustering. Six classes were generated, and for each class, the sand (> 0.05 mm), silt (0.002–0.05 mm) and clay (< 0.002 mm) contents at the location of maximum membership value were considered as the typical values of that class. A weighted average model was then used to digitally map soil texture. The results showed that the predicted map quite accurately reflected the regional soil variation. A validation dataset produced estimates of error for the predicted maps of sand, silt and clay contents at root mean of squared error values of 8.4%, 7.8% and 2.3%, respectively, which is satisfactory in a practical context. This study thus provided a methodology that can help improve the accuracy and efficiency of soil texture mapping in plain areas using easily available data sources.

By analyzing and comparison among four different ways, it is concluded that cold in plant recycling has more advantages on economic,rationality,energy-saving & environment-friendly and so on. On the basis of comparison in four different regeneration methods, the writer analysis technology and economic advantages and prospects of application of the emulsified asphalt cold in plant recycling, combining with the status quo of highway maintenance and improvement, and point out that emulsified asphalt cold in plant recycling is the ideal choice to solve our current semi-rigid base problem,which avoid reflective cracking and extend the pavement life.

Targeting angiogenesis is considered an effective strategy for treating the expansion and metastasis of tumors. The aim of this study is to assess the effects of perifosine, an inhibitor of Akt, on cell proliferation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, and VEGF-induced cell migration in cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) in vitro. MTT and cell cycle analysis results indicated that perifosine inhibited the growth of HUVECs in a dose-dependent manner, arrested cell cycle progression at the G(2) phase with regulation the expression of p21 and cyclinB1. Apoptosis induced by the higher concentrations of perifosine in HUVECs was also observed. In addition, tube formation of HUVECs and VEGF-induced cell migration were markedly inhibited by perifosine. Western blotting analysis of cell signaling molecules indicated that perifosine inhibited ERK and p38 phosphorylation in HUVECs. These results suggest that perifosine exerts anti-angiogenic activity in HUVECs and is a promising agent for treatment of angiogenesis related-diseases.

Seismic performance of a kind of superposed wall, which is composed of two precast panels and the cast- in- place core concrete, was studied in the paper. Two groups of superposed wall units with different edge elements were constructed and tested under quasi- static reversed cyclic loading. The strength, stiffness, ductility, energy dissipation and failure modes of the walls under lateral load were investigated, and the influence of different edge elements to the seismic response of the wall panels was discussed. Moreover, numerical simulation analysis was conducted applying multi- spring (MS) model with the finite element analysis procedure CANNY. Results of the inelastic analysis were compared with the experimental ones to validate the reasonability of the numerical model and evaluate the seismic response of superposed walls further.

The positioning accuracy and positioning time of CNC system have recently been the main performance criteria for industrial applications. The acceleration/deceleration modes, especially deceleration mode, have an important effect on them. The linear deceleration mode is a commonly used deceleration mode. In conventional linear deceleration mode, there is a positioning stage at low speed for a long time after decelerating to ensure the positioning accuracy, because of the “dead zone” and the deceleration point error. In this paper, firstly, some problems in the conventional linear deceleration algorithm are analyzed. Then an improved linear acceleration/deceleration is introduced. In this algorithm, the deceleration point is predicted exactly, and then the deceleration point error is compensated for at higher feedrates. Furthermore, a higher resultant maximum acceleration than that in the conventional scheme is selected to shorten the acceleration/deceleration time. Thus, the positioning stage in conventional scheme is almost cancelled. Compared with that of conventional linear acceleration and deceleration algorithm, the system performance has been significantly improved. Finally, it is confirmed by many simulations and experiments.

A metal-free synthesis of bifunctionalized indole derivatives was developed through a novel TBHP/TBAI-mediated oxidative coupling of C2,C3-unsubstituted indoles with arylsulfonyl hydrazide. Under the same conditions C3-methyl substituted indoles underwent a diazotization process, affording 2-sulfonyldiazenyl-1H-indoles. The former reaction simultaneously established C–S and C–N bonds through selective sulfonylation and diazotization of the indole framework, enabling a mild and practical access to polyfunctionalized indoles with good to excellent yields.

Background Human milk not only contains nutrients and antibodies, but also can be used as an indicator for levels of organic pollutants in human bodies. We developed a method for determining persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in the colostrum of women in preterm labor, the POPs of 36 colostrum samples have been examined. Methods Thirty-six samples of colostrum from preterm women were extracted by acetone–acetonitrile, enriched and purified by solid-phase Florisil columns. The purified POPs were further separated by the capillary columns, and detected by the gas chromatography–electron capture detection (GC–ECD). Results The average recovery rates of 6 types of organochlorine-based pesticides were 80.2%–112.1%, which represent the first 3 categories of the 12 species of POPs. The precise quantities detected were 3.85%–9.32% (the limits of detection were 0.03 μg/l to 0.08 μg/l), and the linear correlation coefficients were ≥ 0.9969. Of the 36 women tested, 10 (27.8%) were found to have colostrums containing traces of dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane (DDT), and 2 (5.56%) were tested positive for dieldrin. Conclusions The combination of using GC–ECD proved to be both accurate and reliable, and this process proved to be both simple and time-effective. This method is applicable for determining the levels of POPs in organisms.

Numerous studies have investigated the direct retrieval of soil properties, including soil texture, using remotely sensed images. However, few have considered how soil properties influence dynamic changes in remote images or how soil processes affect the characteristics of the spectrum. This study investigated a new method for mapping regional soil texture based on the hypothesis that the rate of change of land surface temperature is related to soil texture, given the assumption of similar starting soil moisture conditions. The study area was a typical flat area in the Yangtze-Huai River Plain, East China. We used the widely available land surface temperature product of MODIS as the main data source. We analyzed the relationships between the content of different particle soil size fractions at the soil surface and land surface day temperature, night temperature and diurnal temperature range (DTR) during three selected time periods. These periods occurred after rainfalls and between the previous harvest and the subsequent autumn sowing in 2004, 2007 and 2008. Then, linear regression models were developed between the land surface DTR and sand (> 0.05 mm), clay (< 0.001 mm) and physical clay (< 0.01 mm) contents. The models for each day were used to estimate soil texture. The spatial distribution of soil texture from the studied area was mapped based on the model with the minimum RMSE. A validation dataset produced error estimates for the predicted maps of sand, clay and physical clay, expressed as RMSE of 10.69%, 4.57%, and 12.99%, respectively. The absolute error of the predictions is largely influenced by variations in land cover. Additionally, the maps produced by the models illustrate the natural spatial continuity of soil texture. This study demonstrates the potential for digitally mapping regional soil texture variations in flat areas using readily available MODIS data.
