International audience; The ANR SO-DRIIHM project (October 2020 - March 2024) has two main objectives, firstly to promote open science within the multidisciplinary DRIIHM community, and secondly to co-design an ergonomic "open science gateway" platform. This presentation provides an overview of the tasks carried out for each work package:- WP1: a survey on data sharing practices, the support of OHM pilot projects (data management plans, data deposits, data paper...) and the search tool for open science resources called ORRSO. We have also contributed to the data policy roadmap for CNRS-INEE infrastructures.- WP2: identify services (search data and publications, deposit data through our platform, make FAIR data as possible, draft a data paper...), set up an IT team with additional funding and carry out IT developments, involve volunteer researchers and the data steward support team in codesigning the future platform.

International audience; Le projet ANR SO-DRIIHM (octobre 2020 – mars 2024) a deux grands objectifs dont le premier vise à la promotion de la science ouverte auprès de la communauté pluridisciplinaire du DRIIHM et le deuxième, le codesign d'une plateforme ergonomique "aiguilleur de la science ouverte". L'objectif de cette plateforme est de faciliter le dépôt, le partage de ressources et favoriser les coopérations en offrant de nouvelles solutions à la communauté de recherche interdisciplinaire (environnement et SHS) et à la communauté en soutien à la gestion des données.Cette plateforme se focalise sur la couche d'intermédiation des utilisateurs avec l'écosystème de la science ouverte. Nous travaillons notamment à définir et à développer les besoins et usages attendus pour la recherche et le dépôt de données en étroite collaboration avec la communauté intéressée. Au cœur du système se trouvent les métadonnées descriptives des ressources du DRIIHM alignées selon le standard DCAT du web de données et son profil DCAT-AP de l'union européenne. Nous utilisons également l'ontologie PROV-O pour le suivi du lignage des données. Nous poursuivons les développements selon notre feuille de route et appelons à contributions externes pour soutenir et enrichir cette plateforme open source.

Ce document est une synthèse courte au format A4 recto-verso des résultats de l'enquête en ligne menée en juin 2021 auprès de la communauté scientifique de recherche multidisciplinaire du LabEx DRIIHM (Dispositif de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Interactions Hommes-Milieux) du CNRS-INEE.107 personnes de la communauté DRIIHM des 13 Observatoires Hommes-Milieux (11%) ont participé à cette enquête dont 68% de chercheurs ou enseignants-chercheurs, 17% d’ingénieurs/techniciens, 9% de doctorants/post-doctorants, 4% de partenaires territoriaux/associatifs.L’enquête visait à mieux comprendre les pratiques d’utilisation, de partage et de publication de données, pour aider à la co-conception de la plateforme DATA-DRIIHM dans le cadre du projet ANR Science ouverte SO-DRIIHM.Cette plaquette en illustre les principaux résultats.Pour en savoir plus, les données d’enquêtes pseudonymisées ont été déposées dans l’entrepôt Nakala (DOI 10.34847/nkl.db933xfo) accompagnées de la synthèse détaillée des résultats, question par question (34 questions).

Dans le cadre du mouvement international de la science ouverte, le projet ANR SO-DRIIHM traite de la structuration, du partage et de l’ouverture des données produites au sein d’un dispositif rassemblant treize observatoires (OHM) du CNRS-INEE : le Dispositif de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Interactions Hommes-Milieux soutenu par l’ANR (LabEx DRIIHM 2012-2025). Le projet ANR SO-DRIIHM (octobre 2020 - mars 2023) est l'un des 25 lauréats de l'appel Flash science ouverte de l'ANR. L'un des objectifs de ce projet est la spécification, la conception et le développement d'une e-infrastructure pour la science ouverte de la communauté du labEx DRIIHM. Cette dernière vise à faciliter le dépôt, le partage de ressources et favoriser les coopérations en offrant de nouvelles solutions à la communauté de recherche interdisciplinaire (environnement et SHS) et à la communauté en soutien à la gestion des données. C'est l'un des uses cases de l'alliance académique transdisciplinaire sur les ressources numériques et les pratiques de connaissance DataNoos, basée à Toulouse. Ce use case se focalise sur la couche d'intermédiation des utilisateurs avec l'éco-système de la science ouverte. Nous travaillons notamment à définir et à développer les besoins et usages attendus pour la recherche et le dépôt de données en étroite collaboration avec la communauté intéressée.

International audience; Since 2019, dataNooS (http://datanoos.univ-toulouse.fr/en/) is an academic alliance bringing together members of the academic community in Toulouse area to deal with issues related to digital resource sharing and knowledge practices. Thanks to use cases, we collect, compare and share research experiences related to the production, management and valorization of research data. We carry out a transdisciplinary process in coherence with (inter)national and disciplinary initiatives. Thanks to several experimental projects, we are currently implementing a generic and integrated platform to manage cross-disciplinary datasets. It supports dataset description with semantic metadata and their query through a faceted search interface. A prototype of the platform provides several services such as:•setting up a domain ontology adapted from a generic one to select the vocabulary for metadata descriptions;•designing templates of metadata based on this ontology, so that the quality of the metadata be checked;•a faceted search device that guides the input of search criteria thanks to the ontology;•a dataset visualization and browsing service.•repositories of digital objects (datasets, queries, templates, workflows) and knowledge (ontologies, vocabularies, catalogs, services directories);This platform is connected to the heterogeneous Open science eco-systems. Search requests are based on shared or open data repositories, metadata repositories and data portals to reference disseminated data on one point.This platform also integrates users' experience and feedback to provide personalized assistance. The platform will also support how to use the datasets in workflows, and in data processing environments.The poster presents the FAIR principles and ontologies that guided the design of the Platform. It will expose its architecture and the modules already implemented in the prototype.

International audience; Semantics4FAIR ( https://www.irit.fr/semantics4fair/ ) is one of the projects selected by the French National Research Agency (ANR) on theFLASH CALL Open Science entitled "research practices and open research data". It aims at facilitating the tasks of finding and accessing scientific data by a scientific community, in order to support the development of new usages by other scientific communities. The originality of the proposed approach is twofold: (i) a human factor method to capture user’s needs and vocabularies; and (ii) a semantic-based approach takes up the findability challenge thanks to ontologies and metadata templates. We have built an ontology to better describe and document domain specific datasets so that they are more easily findable and reusable byusers from other domains. The core of this ontology reuses standard vocabularies (e.g., GeoDCAT-AP, RDF Data Cube). The domain specific partof the ontology and domain vocabularies account for the various points of view on the domain data and provide a standard language to describethe data sets, their structure and content. To instantiate the developed ontological model by expert domains that are not familiar with ontologies, we have to implement an application with ergonomic interfaces. To tackle this issue, in our project and similar projects like dataNooS, we designed and implemented a prototype of a generic application for semantic dataset description. This application takes as an input an ontological metadata model and allows the user, familiar with ontologies, to semi-automatically define a template (i.e., input form) based on this model. This template allows domain experts to describe datasets with metadata (instantiate the model) without having to deal with ontologies. Once datasets are represented, it is essential to offer search services to improve their findability and reuse. We are working on the development of semantic search algorithms that exploit the ontological model and knowledge bases (e.g. Geonames) to improve the classic facet search of datasets. These applications will be included in the dataNooS platform (see dataNooS poster).This work relies on the collaboration of a computer science lab (IRIT) and a human-factor institute (MSH-T) with scientific communities that want to make their datasets FAIR, and scientific communities that want to reuse this data for their own research projects. We are currently testing the approach with meteorology datasets provided by the atmospheric scientific community (OMP and CNRM), and two data user communities: the Palynologist community (GET) and meteorology data exploitation (Météo-France) services.Scientific Discipline / Research Area: Natural Sciences/Earth and related environmental sciencesRelevance / Link to RDA:We propose a semantic-based approach to improve the FAIRness of scientific datasets in the context of cross-disciplinary research. Communication orale présentant le projet SO-DRIIHM, lors de la journée de lancements des 25 projets financés par l'appel Flash "science ouverte" de l'ANR. Résumé du projet SO-DRIIHM : Dans le cadre du mouvement international de la science ouverte, ce projet traite de la structuration, du partage et de l’ouverture des données produites au sein d’un réseau de treize observatoires (OHMs) du CNRS-INEE : le Dispositif de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Interactions Hommes-Milieux soutenu par l’ANR (LabEx DRIIHM 2012-2025). Il implique près de 1000 scientifiques. De grandes quantités de données hétérogènes sont produites ou collectées dans les domaines des Sciences de la Nature et du Vivant, et des Sciences Humaines et Sociales. Plusieurs initiatives ont été menées au sein du LabEx pour augmenter la visibilité et le partage des données, mettre en relation des équipes scientifiques, favoriser la ré-utilisation de données et potentiellement faire émerger de nouvelles recherches. Un panel d’outils a ainsi été mis en place au fil des années : géo-catalogues de métadonnées, web SIG, photothèque, collections HAL, etc. Cependant, il existe des contrastes importants dans l’alimentation et l’utilisation de ces outils entre les OHMs, et deux enquêtes menées en 2017 et 2018 ont révélé que les chercheurs demeurent peu informés sur les pratiques de science ouverte. La communauté DRIIHM est globalement motivée par le partage, mais ne sait pas comment procéder et identifie certains freins tels que la peur du piratage, la mésutilisation, la sécurité, la perte de propriété des données. L’objectif de ce projet est d’optimiser l’appropriation de la démarche de science ouverte par la communauté DRIIHM à travers : i) l’organisation de campagnes de sensibilisation montrant les bénéfices du partage et de l’ouverture des données ; ii) la co-construction d’une e-infrastructure plus ergonomique et interopérable, intégrant les outils existants et accompagnant les chercheurs pour trouver, partager et (ré)utiliser les données avec l’implémentation concrète et progressive des principes FAIR. Ce projet s’intègre ainsi dans les initiatives internationales telles que la Research Data Alliance et GO FAIR. Cet appel Flash offre l’opportunité de renforcer la collaboration initiée depuis peu avec des ergonomes et spécialistes du développement web, afin de mieux répondre aux attentes de notre communauté. La méthode repose sur un développement AGILE itératif et incrémental : l’e-infrastructure sera enrichie de nouvelles fonctionnalités après chaque itération. L’originalité de ce projet réside dans la co-construction avec l’implication des chercheurs dès les phases amont du projet. Les enjeux sont d’identifier les pratiques actuelles en matière de gestion et de mise à disposition des données, puis de gérer le changement avec l’intégration des pratiques de la science ouverte dans le cycle de la donnée. Des formations permettront à la communauté d’apprendre à utiliser la nouvelle e-infrastructure. Des indicateurs seront mis au point afin de mesurer l’évolution des pratiques, l’utilisation de l’e-infrastructure et le niveau de “FAIRisation” des données. Ce projet aura pour impacts un potentiel d’utilisation directement quantifiable auprès de la communauté de producteurs et d’utilisateurs des données. Les chercheurs auront acquis une meilleure connaissance de la démarche science ouverte et bénéficieront d’une meilleure visibilité de leurs jeux de données. Ils seront sensibilisés à la gestion de données à l’aide d’un modèle de Plan de Gestion de Données et auront la possibilité de générer une première version de data paper. Les codes sources produits seront en accès libre, maintenus sur une plateforme de dépôt dédiée. La production scientifique sera en open access et référencée dans HAL. Le développement et l’expérimentation de solutions méthodologiques à l’échelle du LabEx pourront être exploités à une plus large échelle. Enfin grâce à la mise en oeuvre de l’interopérabilité, les données de recherche seront visibles à terme dans les grandes infrastructures de données nationales et internationales dont le futur portail European Open Science Cloud., Financement ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche)

Retour sur leIG RDA - “Virtual Research Environments - Working towards building a common reference model and a catalogue of design patterns for VREs"Romain David INRA UMR MISTEA-Pascal Dayre CNRS/IRIT/ENSEEIHT

As part of the international Open Science movement, this project deals with the structuration, sharing and opening of research data in the context of a network of thirteen CNRS-INEE observatories (OHMs): the Interdisciplinary Research Facility on Human-Environment Interactions supported by the ANR (LabEx DRIIHM 2012-2025). This network involves nearly 1000 scientists. Large amounts of heterogeneous data are produced or collected, covering research in Natural and Life Sciences, and Human and Social Sciences. Several initiatives have been carried out within the LabEx DRIIHM to increase visibility and data sharing to connect scientific teams that are not always linked, promote the re-use of data and potentially lead to the emergence of new research topics. A range of tools has been developed over the years: metadata geo-catalogs, web GIS platforms, photo libraries, HAL collections, etc. However, there are significant contrasts in the contribution to these tools and their use between OHMs, and two surveys conducted in 2017 and 2018 showed that researchers remain poorly informed about Open Science practices. The DRIIHM community is globally motivated by data sharing, but does not know how to proceed and identifies obstacles such as fear of hacking, misuse, security or loss of data ownership. The objective of this project is to optimize the appropriation of Open Science by the DRIIHM community through: i) the organization of awareness campaigns showing the benefits of data sharing and openness; ii) the co-construction of a more ergonomic and interoperable e-infrastructure, integrating existing tools and accompanying researchers to find, share and (re-)use data through the concrete and gradual implementation of the FAIR principles. This project is part of international initiatives such as the Research Data Alliance and GO FAIR. This Flash call offers the opportunity to strengthen the collaboration recently initiated with ergonomists and web development specialists to respond more closely to the community health needs and highly improve the existing infrastructure. The methodology is based on an iterative and incremental AGILE software development: the e-infrastructure will be enhanced with new features after each iteration. The originality of this project lies in the co-construction, researchers being involved at the early stages of the project. Challenges are to identify the current practices in data management and data access, and then to manage change with the integration of Open Science practices into the data lifecycle. Training workshops will enable the DRIIHM community to learn how to use and evaluate the new e-infrastructure efficiently. Indicators will be developed to measure the evolution of practices, the usability of the e-infrastructure and the level of data FAIRness. The impacts of this project will be the directly quantifiable use of the e-infrastructure by the community of data producers and users. As a result, researchers will acquire a better knowledge of Open Science and their datasets will gain in visibility. They will be aware of data management using a Data Management Plan model and will have the opportunity to generate a data paper draft. The e-infrastructure source codes will be freely accessible and maintained on a dedicated repository platform. The scientific production will be open access and referenced in HAL. The methodological solutions developed and tested in this is project can be exploited beyond the LabEx DRIIHM. This workshop follows two national training courses CNRS / INRA on the Semantic Web (APSEM 2018 and 2019) bringing together participants belonging in particular to very large research infrastructures, such as REX (Inria), Pangeo (CNES), Data Terra (MESRI) and the national biodiversity cluster (PNDB).; L’objectif de l’atelier Environnement Virtuel de Recherche (EVR) a pour motivation la nécessité d’ouvrir les environnements virtuels de recherche et les rendre interopérables pour améliorer l’accès aux ressources scientifiques et techniques en termes de données, de codes algorithmiques, de processus/chaînes de traitements, de modélisation, d’analyse, de visualisation des informations, de recherche par les données et plus largement de support à l’activité de recherche. This deliverable presents the high-level specification for the first release (M12) of the shared space for knowledge practices software, including the requirements, the functionality, as well as the service-oriented software architecture of the system. The requirements section describes the requirements process and the resulting high-level functional requirements. The functionality of the software is presented from the end-user perspective and divided into parts that form the major components of the architecture. The proposed architectural design introduces a number of components: the KP-Lab Portal and the portal level tools, the Knowledge artefact tools, the Knowledge process tools, the Shared space management tools, the core services and APIs, as well as the data layer.

From the interpretation of 1986 aerial photographs organized in a 125 meters side grid map, the Urban District of Montpellier has been analysed. Some methods of data processing are developed here.
