8. A wideband and directive metasurface FPC antenna with toroidal metal structure loading.

Abstract

In this paper, a novel metasurface-based Fabry−Perot cavity antenna loaded with toroidal metal structures is presented. The antenna is compact, wideband, and has high directivity and a high front-to-back ratio. The idea of the antenna is based on loading a microstrip narrow band patch antenna resonating at 4.5 GHz by a single layer metasurface superstrate and with a toroidal metal structure. The metasurface superstrate comprises a periodic array of square patch cells. Compared to conventional microstrip antenna, the front to back lobe ratio is increased from 7 to 20 dB and the directivity is increased by 7 dB. Also, the antenna impedance bandwidth is 34% which is increased four times. This is the first-ever antenna with enhanced bandwidth and directivity using a single layer of metasurface and that too made up of periodic cell array and has application as an energy harvester. Abstract

Radio controlled cars have been commonly being sold as toys for a long time and they are popular at that too. R.C Car is one of the major attractions for the toys markets. However, these toys are not limited to just the toy market. R.C Car in itself can provide a huge opportunity for a new generation of students to learn the basic building blocks of robotics and robotics design. RC car can usually be found in two types of configurations. This configuration is namely known as the wired configuration as well as the wireless configuration, not only that but depending upon the configuration we are employing, the complexity of the circuit will increase or decrease. [1] The history of the RC car began in the 1960’s when the first company originated from Britain produced the first commercial RC Car. They did so with the help with the nitrogen gas. Years down the line the Japanese were the first one to make a working RC car which was able to run on electricity” [1] RC cars are fun DIY projects that can include as much as or little the user want to implement in their design. The basic design of the RC Car contain the chassis, the wheels and the Dc motor foot their operation. Abstract

Such type of robot can be a useful deployment in various industries and manufacturing sector such as auto-mobile industries, textile industries etc. where transfer of a goods are required in confined space. Other advantages of such a robot is to ease the movement over the production line and enhance mobility of goods over different phases of production .The platform that has been chosen for the purpose is LabVIEW, which is a visual programming language and is easy to learn and implement.

Abstract

Antenna parameter optimization using S-shaped metamaterial embedded in antenna substrate is elucidated in this paper. Upon incorporation of proposed metamaterial array inside the antenna substrate, the bandwidth of antenna increases by 74% and directivity by about 11%. Results obtained are in good coherence when using the FEM based Ansoft HFSS simulation and MATLAB programming based on CAD formulas using the equivalent circuit analysis of patch antenna. The evolution of ‘S-shape’ has been explained beginning from the primitive Single Split Ring Resonator’s shape. The proposed structure was fabricated and nearly 6% deviation was obtained in comparison with the simulation results. This metamaterial antenna overcomes the low bandwidth limitation of patch antenna and helps in maintaining a low profile by obtaining 81% miniaturization.

Abstract

The past few years have been very eventful with respect to the evolution of the concept and implementation of “left-handed materials (LHMs)”. This paper elucidates antenna parameter optimization using 2 Segment Labyrinth metamaterial embedded in antenna substrate at high frequency (THz). Ansoft HFSS has been used to design and analyse the RMPA (rectangular microstrip patch antenna) with design frequency 9.55 THz and operating range of 8.55 THz to 10.55 THz having RT Duroid (er = 2.33) as substrate material. Magnetic properties of labyrinth resonator have been used to mathematically demonstrate the negative refraction. Nicolson Ross Wier (NRW) method has been used to retrieve the material parameters from transmission and reflection coefficient. Upon incorporation, bandwidth widens to around 4% and VSWR improves by approx 1.5%.

Abstract

A new metamaterial-inspired patch antenna is proposed, wherein swastika metamaterial is embedded into the substrate resonating at 3.85 THz, for Ultra-Wide Band applications. Miniaturization occurs by 44% with appearance of two secondary resonances around 2.5THz and 1.9THz, which is lower than the patch's ones and bandwidth broadens by 400%. Abstract

A new type of metamaterial-inspired monopole antenna designed for satellite transmission communication systems has been elucidated. By adding a 'C' Shaped Pair (CSP) metamaterial into the near field of monopole antenna resonating at 7.5 GHz, a secondary resonance has been created in C-Band which is lower than the monopole's ones. At this new resonance, the directivity of the structure was enhanced and its profile was reduced. Next, the tunability of the structure was observed with respect to the coupling distance between the monopole antenna and the CSP. The directivity of the structure has also been enhanced. 27. Performance Enhancement of RMPA Using ESRR Metamaterial at THz.

Abstract

Left handed materials which have both negative permittivity and permeability, have been the area of potential research over a decade. This paper elucidates antenna parameter optimization using Double Negative Group (DNG) Electric SRR, having 19.13 THz as resonant frequency forming metamaterial array embedded in antenna substrate at high frequency (THz). Ansoft HFSS has been used to design and analyse the RMPA (Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna) with design frequency 22.5 THz and operating range of 20 THz to 25 THz having FR4 (εr = 4.4) as substrate material. Nicolson Ross Wier (NRW) method has been used to retrieve the material parameters from transmission and reflection coefficient. Upon incorporation, remarkable enhancement in parameters is observed whereby bandwidth increases by factor of 3.75, directivity increases by 5% and front to back lobe ratio improves by 31% with ESRR metamaterial.
