A higher degree of angiogenesis is associated with shortened survival in glioblastoma. Feasible morphometric parameters for analyzing vascular networks in brain tumors in clinical practice are lacking. We investigated whether the macrovascular network classified by the number of vessel-like structures (nVS) visible on three-dimensional T1-weighted contrast⁻enhanced (3D-T1CE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) could improve survival prediction models for newly diagnosed glioblastoma based on clinical and other imaging features. Ninety-seven consecutive patients (62 men; mean age, 58 ± 15 years) with histologically proven glioblastoma underwent 1.5T-MRI, including anatomical, diffusion-weighted, dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion, and 3D-T1CE sequences after 0.1 mmol/kg gadobutrol. We assessed nVS related to the tumor on 1-mm isovoxel 3D-T1CE images, and relative cerebral blood volume, relative cerebral flow volume (rCBF), delay mean time, and apparent diffusion coefficient in volumes of interest for contrast-enhancing lesion (CEL), non-CEL, and contralateral normal-appearing white matter. We also assessed Visually Accessible Rembrandt Images scoring system features. We used ROC curves to determine the cutoff for nVS and univariate and multivariate cox proportional hazards regression for overall survival. Prognostic factors were evaluated by Kaplan-Meier survival and ROC analyses. Lesions with nVS > 5 were classified as having highly developed macrovascular network; 58 (60.4%) tumors had highly developed macrovascular network. Patients with highly developed macrovascular network were older, had higher volumeCEL, increased rCBFCEL, and poor survival; nVS correlated negatively with survival (r = -0.286; p = 0.008). On multivariate analysis, standard treatment, age at diagnosis, and macrovascular network best predicted survival at 1 year (AUC 0.901, 83.3% sensitivity, 93.3% specificity, 96.2% PPV, 73.7% NPV). Contrast-enhanced MRI macrovascular network improves survival prediction in newly diagnosed glioblastoma.

Background and Purpose- Physiological effects of stroke are best assessed over entire brain networks rather than just focally at the site of structural damage. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging can map functional-anatomic networks by analyzing spontaneously correlated low-frequency activity fluctuations across the brain, but its potential usefulness in predicting functional outcome after acute stroke remains unknown. We assessed the ability of resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging to predict functional outcome after acute stroke. Methods- We scanned 37 consecutive reperfused stroke patients (age, 69±14 years; 14 females; 3-day National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score, 6±5) on day 3 after symptom onset. After imaging preprocessing, we used a whole-brain mask to calculate the correlation coefficient matrices for every paired region using the Harvard-Oxford probabilistic atlas. To evaluate functional outcome, we applied the modified Rankin Scale at 90 days. We used region of interest analyses to explore the functional connectivity between regions and graph-computation analysis to detect differences in functional connectivity between patients with good functional outcome (modified Rankin Scale score ≤2) and those with poor outcome (modified Rankin Scale score >2). Results- Patients with good outcome had greater functional connectivity than patients with poor outcome. Although 3-day National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score was the most accurate independent predictor of 90-day modified Rankin Scale (84.2%), adding functional connectivity increased accuracy to 94.7%. Preserved bilateral interhemispheric connectivity between the anterior inferior temporal gyrus and superior frontal gyrus and decreased connectivity between the caudate and anterior inferior temporal gyrus in the left hemisphere had the greatest impact in favoring good prognosis. Conclusions- These data suggest that information about functional connectivity from resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging may help predict 90-day stroke outcome.

OBJECTIVE: Blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability has been proposed as a predictor of hemorrhagic transformation (HT) after tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) administration; however, the reliability of perfusion computed tomography (PCT) permeability imaging for predicting HT is uncertain. We aimed to determine the performance of high-permeability region size on PCT (HPrs-PCT) in predicting HT after intravenous tPA administration in patients with acute stroke. METHODS: We performed a multimodal CT protocol (non-contrast CT, PCT, CT angiography) to prospectively study patients with middle cerebral artery occlusion treated with tPA within 4.5 hours of symptom onset. HT was graded at 24 hours using the European-Australasian Acute Stroke Study II criteria. ROC curves selected optimal volume threshold, and multivariate logistic regression analysis identified predictors of HT. RESULTS: The study included 156 patients (50% male, median age 75.5 years). Thirty-seven (23,7%) developed HT [12 (7,7%), parenchymal hematoma type 2 (PH-2)]. At admission, patients with HT had lower platelet values, higher NIHSS scores, increased ischemic lesion volumes, larger HPrs-PCT, and poorer collateral status. The negative predictive value of HPrs-PCT at a threshold of 7mL/100g/min was 0.84 for HT and 0.93 for PH-2. The multiple regression analysis selected HPrs-PCT at 7mL/100g/min combined with platelets and baseline NIHSS score as the best model for predicting HT (AUC 0.77). HPrs-PCT at 7mL/100g/min was the only independent predictor of PH-2 (OR 1, AUC 0.68, p = 0.045). CONCLUSIONS: HPrs-PCT can help predict HT after tPA, and is particularly useful in identifying patients at low risk of developing HT.

OBJECTIVE: Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) is an MRI technique with potential applications in measuring brain tumor perfusion, but its clinical impact remains to be determined. We assessed the usefulness of IVIM-metrics in predicting survival in newly diagnosed glioblastoma. METHODS: Fifteen patients with glioblastoma underwent MRI including spin-echo echo-planar DWI using 13 b-values ranging from 0 to 1000 s/mm2. Parametric maps for diffusion coefficient (D), pseudodiffusion coefficient (D*), and perfusion fraction (f) were generated for contrast-enhancing regions (CER) and non-enhancing regions (NCER). Regions of interest were manually drawn in regions of maximum f and on the corresponding dynamic susceptibility contrast images. Prognostic factors were evaluated by Kaplan-Meier survival and Cox proportional hazards analyses. RESULTS: We found that fCER and D*CER correlated with rCBFCER. The best cutoffs for 6-month survival were fCER>9.86% and D*CER>21.712 x10-3mm2/s (100% sensitivity, 71.4% specificity, 100% and 80% positive predictive values, and 80% and 100% negative predictive values; AUC:0.893 and 0.857, respectively). Treatment yielded the highest hazard ratio (5.484; 95% CI: 1.162-25.88; AUC: 0.723; P = 0.031); fCER combined with treatment predicted survival with 100% accuracy. CONCLUSIONS: The IVIM-metrics fCER and D*CER are promising biomarkers of 6-month survival in newly diagnosed glioblastoma.

- Abstract
This article analyses the use of peer evaluation as a tool for evaluating teamwork and students' perceptions of this type of evaluation. A study was conducted of six subjects included on five degree courses at the University of Girona. In all of these subjects, students carried out a team activity, evaluated the performance of the team and the involvement of its different members, and responded to a survey on their perceptions of this evaluation system. We found the main factors influencing the evaluation and perception of teamwork to be teachers' and students' prior experience in this type of evaluation activity, the field where it is applied, the academic year students are enrolled on and the weight of the activity in the final mark. The results show that, in general, students' views regarding such evaluation procedures are positive.

Altres ajuts: Acord transformatiu CRUE-CSIC, Unidad de excelencia María de Maeztu CEX2019-000940-M, The use of Land use and Land cover (LULC) data is gradually becoming more widely spread in studies relating the environment to human health. However, little research has acknowledged the compositional nature of these data. The goal of the present study is to explore, for the first time, the independent effect of eight LULC categories (agricultural land, bare land, coniferous forest, broad-leaved forest, sclerophyll forest, grassland and shrubs, urban areas, and waterbodies) on three selected common health conditions: type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), asthma and anxiety, using a compositional methodological approach and leveraging observational health data of Catalonia (Spain) at area level. We fixed the risk exposure scenario using three covariates (socioeconomic status, age group, and sex). Then, we assessed the independent effect of the eight LULC categories on each health condition. Our results show that each LULC category has a distinctive effect on the three health conditions and that the three covariates clearly modify this effect. This compositional approach has yielded plausible results supported by the existing literature, highlighting the relevance of environmental heterogeneity in health studies. In this sense, we argue that different types of environment possess exclusive biotic and abiotic elements affecting distinctively on human health. We believe our contribution might help researchers approach the environment in a more multidimensional manner integrating environmental heterogeneity in the analysis.

A statistical graph can offer an alternative compelling approach to statistical thinking that focuses on important concepts rather than procedural formulas. Nowadays, visualizing multidimensional/multivariate data is essential but can also be challenging. In sport analytics, the exploration and descriptive analysis of data using visualization techniques has increased in recent years to, for example, describe possible patterns and uncertainty of player performance. These visualization techniques have been used so far with different purposes by various professionals in the sport industry, such as managers, coaches, scouters, technical staff, journalists, and researchers. The abuse of graphs, such as the radar plot, and their frequent misinterpretation in the world of sports and possible implications for coaching decisions has led us to create more informative and accurate visualizations. Here, we propose new, more educational visualizations we have termed violinboxplots and enhanced radar plot for their use in the sports analytics and other fields. These allow us to visualize, besides distribution and statistical summaries, the extreme data values that can be fundamental in performance studies and allow us to benchmark. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

International audience; Ruminants are dependent on their rumen microbiota to obtain energy from plants. The composition of the microbiome was well-known to be associated with health status, and production traits, but published results are difficult to reproduce due to large sources of variation. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the associations of ruminal microbiota and its association with genetic lines selected by somatic cell score (SCS) or milk persistency (PERS), as well as milk production, somatic cell score, fat and protein contents, and fatty acids and proteins of milk, using the principles of compositional data. A large sample of 700 Lacaune dairy ewes from INRAE La Fage feeding the same diet and belonging to two divergent genetic lines selected for SCS or PERS was used. The ruminal bacterial metagenome was sequenced using the 16S rRNA gene, resulting in 2,059 operational taxonomic units affiliated with 112 genera. The abundance data were centred log-transformed after the replacement of zeros with the geometric Bayesian method. Discriminant analysis of the SCS showed differences between SCS+ and SCS- ewes, while for PERS no difference was obtained. Milk traits as fat content, protein content, saturated fatty acids and caseins of milk were negatively associated with Prevotella (R = [-0.08;-0.16]), Suttonella (R = [-0.09;-0.16]) and Ruminococcus (R = [-0.08;-0.16]), and positively associated with Lachnospiraceae (R = [0.09;0.16]) and Christensenellaceae (R = [0.09;0.16]). Our findings provide an understanding of the application of compositional data to microbiome analysis, and the potential association of Prevotella , Suttonella , Ruminococcaceae and Lachnospiraceae with milk production traits such as milk fatty acids and proteins in dairy sheep.

Background Balloon guide catheter (BGC) in stent retriever based thrombectomy (BGC +SR) for patients with large vessel occlusion strokes (LVOS) improves outcomes. It is conceivable that the addition of a large bore distal access catheter (DAC) to BGC +SR leads to higher efficacy. We aimed to investigate whether the combined BGC +DAC+SR approach improves angiographic and clinical outcomes compared with BGC +SR alone for thrombectomy in anterior circulation LVOS. Methods Consecutive patients with anterior circulation LVOS from June 2019 to November 2020 were recruited from the ROSSETTI registry. Demographic, clinical, angiographic, and outcome data were compared between patients treated with BGC+SR alone versus BGC+DAC+SR. The primary outcome was first pass effect (FPE) rate, defined as near complete/complete revascularization (modified Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction (mTICI) 2c-3) after single device pass. Results We included 401 patients (BGC+SR alone, 273 (66.6%) patients). Patients treated with BGC+SR alone were older (median age 79 (IQR 68-85) vs 73.5 (65-82) years; p=0.033) and had shorter procedural times (puncture to revascularization 24 (14-46) vs 37 (24.5-63.5) min, p<0.001) than the BGC+DAC+SR group. Both approaches had a similar FPE rate (52% in BGC+SR alone vs 46.9% in BGC+DAC+SR, p=0.337). Although the BGC+SR alone group showed higher rates for final successful reperfusion (mTICI ≥2b (86.8% vs 74.2%, p=0.002) and excellent reperfusion, mTICI ≥2 c (76.2% vs 55.5%, p<0.001)), there were no significant differences in 24 hour National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score or rates of good functional outcome (modified Rankin Scale score of 0-2) at 3 months across these techniques. Conclusions Our data showed that addition of distal intracranial aspiration catheters to BGC+SR based thrombectomy in patients with acute anterior circulation LVO did not provide higher rates of FPE or improved clinical outcomes. Background Large-bore aspiration catheters enabling greater flow rates and suction force for mechanical thrombectomy might improve outcomes in patients with stroke secondary to large-vessel occlusion. Complete or near-complete reperfusion after a single thrombectomy pass (first-pass effect) is associated with improved clinical outcomes. We assessed the efficacy and safety of novel MIVI Q™ aspiration catheters in combination with stent-retriever devices. Methods We retrospectively analyzed demographics, procedure characteristics, and clinical data from consecutive patients with acute anterior large-vessel occlusion treated with a combined approach using MIVI Q™ aspiration catheters and stent retrievers. Reperfusion was defined according to the modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction (mTICI) score. Clinical outcomes were measured by the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and modified Rankin scale (mRS) scores. Results We included 52 patients (median age, 75 y IQR: 64–83); 31 (59.6%) women; 14 (26.9%) with terminal internal carotid artery occlusions, 26 (50%) middle cerebral artery (MCA) segment M1 occlusions, and 12 (23.1%) MCA segment M2 occlusions; median NIHSS score at admission was 19 (IQR: 13–22). After the first pass, 25 (48%) patients had mTICI ≥ 2c. At the end of the procedure, 47 (90.4%) had mTICI ≥ 2b and 35 (67.3%) had mTICI ≥ 2c. No serious device-related adverse events were observed. Symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage developed in 1 patient. Mean NIHSS score was 13 at 24 h and 5 at discharge. At 90 days, 24 (46.2%) patients were functionally independent (mRS 0–2). Conclusion This preliminary study found good efficacy and safety for MIVI Q™ aspiration catheters used in combination with stent-retriever devices

On standard control charts, the hypothesis of normality is usually assumed without any additional verification. Nevertheless, in some cases this assumption is not accurate and might cause errors in process quality monitoring. In particular, for the control of the proportion of nonconforming units (p-chart) the normality is doubtful when p is small and consequently, lower control limit less than or equal to zero are frequent. Some authors have proposed new techniques to define limits in the p-chart. Others have proposed transformations to improve the detection of special causes. In X-bar charts, the mean of a critical to quality (CTQ) characteristic is monitored. When the variable is far from normality, then parametric, or even nonparametric, control charts might be used. Recent works suggest applying transformations to make the data quasi-normal. This kind of lack of normality is usually present when in those analyses CTQ is a part of a composition. Our proposal is to highlight how above mentioned problems can be treated from a compositional point of view. New strategies are proposed and illustrated trough a case study where a proportion has the role of a CTQ

Multivariate analysis ,Anàlisi multivariable - Abstract
nterpretation of out-of-control signals in multivariate control charts is a persistent problem. Identifying the variables contributing to the signal is of crucial importance for process control. Both procedures turn out to be more complicated when observations are compositions (variables adding to a constant sum). Compositional T-2 control chart (TC2) is suitable for monitoring compositions because it is based on a transformation of the data, which moves it from restricted to real space. This paper proposes a method for interpreting the out-of-control signals of the TC2 control chart for three-part compositions on the basis of an appropriate selection of the transformation. An example of industrial application illustrates the introduced techniques This work has been partially financed by the Agencia de Gestio d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (Ref: 2009SGR424) and by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovacion (Ref: MTM2012-33236 and Ref: MTM2009-13272). The amalgamation operation is frequently used to reduce the number of parts of compositional data but it is a non-linear operation in the simplex with the usual geometry, the Aitchison geometry. The concept of balances between groups, a particular coordinate system designed over binary partitions of the parts, could be an alternative to the amalgamation in some cases. In this work we discuss the proper application of both concepts using a real data set corresponding to behavioral measures of pregnant sows Geologische Vereinigung; Institut d’Estadística de Catalunya; International Association for Mathematical Geology; Càtedra Lluís Santaló d’Aplicacions de la Matemàtica; Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament d’Innovació, Universitats i Recerca; Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia; Ingenio 2010.

Per assolir aquest objectiu s’ha realitzat un treball dividit en les cinc fases que es presenten a continuació Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) have become installation devices mandatory in certain parts of the city as its use can help save lives in the case cardiopulmonary arrest. Many cities, in addition to the locations set by law, have installed DEA at other points to offer a better level of cardioprotection to its inhabitants. Determine the number and locations of DEAs is not an easy problem to deal with and in many cases distribution then it may not be the best. Girona was one of the first cities to install DEA, becoming a benchmark in terms of issues of cardioprotection. Tests d'hipòtesi (Estadística) ,Tests psicològics - Abstract
In most psychological tests and questionnaires, a test score is obtained by taking the sum of the item scores. In virtually all cases where the test or questionnaire contains multidimensional forced-choice items, this traditional scoring method is also applied. We argue that the summation of scores obtained with multidimensional forced-choice items produces uninterpretable test scores. Therefore, we propose three alternative scoring methods: a weak and a strict rank preserving scoring method, which both allow an ordinal interpretation of test scores; and a ratio preserving scoring method, which allows a proportional interpretation of test scores. Each proposed scoring method yields an index for each respondent indicating the degree to which the response pattern is inconsistent. Analysis of real data showed that with respect to rank preservation, the weak and strict rank preserving method resulted in lower inconsistency indices than the traditional scoring method; with respect to ratio preservation, the ratio preserving scoring method resulted in lower inconsistency indices than the traditional scoring method Geologische Vereinigung; Institut d’Estadística de Catalunya; International Association for Mathematical Geology; Càtedra Lluís Santaló d’Aplicacions de la Matemàtica; Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament d’Innovació, Universitats i Recerca; Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia; Ingenio 2010.

This work arises from the problem that is repeated year after year in one beverage supply company When summer arrives, demand soars to the great increase in tourism in the coastal towns of the Costa Brava, with one demand is markedly seasonal. So much so, that the distributing companies of drinks are often outweighed by demand. The object of the work is to create a statistical model, assuming that the future data is can predict from past data. Once the statistical model is done, it will be created an algorithm based on graph theory in order to know the optimal paths to follow between the different municipalities throughout the week.

Intravenous administration of tissue plasminogen activator is conducted in patients with acute ischemic stoke (AIS) within 4.5 hours of onset. However, around a third of AIS patients do not have accurate onset time and most could not satisfy the inclusion criteria for thrombolysis. Therefore, it is recommended to investigate a reliable method that can determine the onset time of stroke. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI) is an effective method of identifying good candidates for thrombolysis. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a recently MRI method which allows the mapping of the diffusion process of molecules, mainly water, in biological tissues, in vivo and non-invasively. Molecular diffusion in tissues is not free, reflecting interactions of molecules with many obstacles, such as fibers and membranes. Therefore, DTI provides information on the predominant direction and degree of tissue water diffusion, commonly expressed as the fractional anisotropy (FA). Diffusion anisotropy MRI detects microstructural changes from ischemic injury, but its real clinical value remains unclear. On the other hand, the corticospinal tract (CST) is the most important motor pathway and motor deficit is one of the most common sequelae of AIS. Early prediction of motor outcome is of interest in stroke management because it contributes significantly to patients’ ability to live independently: over 50% of AIS patients have residual motor deficits. More accurate prediction of motor function would enable clinicians and patients to set realistic goals and allocate resources efficiently. DTI-metrics could potentially be used as imaging surrogate markers for long-term motor deficit. Objectives: In this thesis the primary objectives are whether (1) to investigate temporal changes of diffusion anisotropy on MRI by analyzing distinct ischemic regions and to test the predictive ability of DTI-metrics to determine time from symptom onset in AIS. The other main objectives are (2) to develop a model to predict which variables in the first month after stroke are more accurate in predicting long-term (2 years) motor outcome. Material and Methods: We evaluated 60 consecutive patients with MCA AIS onset clearly within 12 hours admitted to our stroke during a 19-month period. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) to assess clinical deficit at admission, at day 3, at day 30, at day 90, and at 2 years from stroke onset. The m-NIHSS subindex (5a, 5b, 6a, 6b) was used to categorize the severity of limb weakness as grade I (total m-NIHSS score of 0), grade II (m-NIHSS, score of 1–4), or grade III (m-NIHSS, score of 5–8). Motricity Index scores were used to categorize the long-term motor outcome at 2-years follow-up. All scans were performed with an 1.5T MR system. DTI was performed by using a single-shot echo-planar imaging sequence with the sensitivity encoding parallel-imaging scheme (15 noncollinear directions). Results: We found that variables with significant differences between infarcts ≤4.5 and >4.5 hours were rFA deep white matter (WM) (p=0.001), mean diffusivity ratio (rMD) cortical grey matter (GM) (p=0.036), apparent diffusion coefficient ratio (rADC) cortical GM (p=0.009), rT2 deep WM (p=0.006), and FLAIR (p4.5. The sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values for infarct ≤4.5 h of onset by rFA deep WM > 0.970 were 93.8%, 84.6%, 88.2%, and 91.7%, respectively. On the other hand, lower rFA values correlated with motor deficit at day 30 (p

Compositional data are defined as vectors of components that represent parts of a whole and contain relative information (e.g. %, ppm, mg/l...). CoDa are widely found in chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries among others. This thesis proposes a control chart based on the T2 statistic to monitor processes in which the quality characteristic is a composition. The thesis shows how traditional approaches are not consistent with this type of data, i.e. do not follow the principle of subcompositional coherence and result in control regions outside the restricted sample space. We propose a new control chart (compositional T2, T2C) based on a representation of CoDa into coordinates on real space by the use of log ratios of components. The thesis also proposes an algorithm to identify the components that are responsible of the anomaly. We have applied the T2C to a grit manufacturing process and to control the impurity profile of a drug substance, Les dades composicionals (CoDa) es defineixen com a vectors de components que representen parts d’un tot i que contenen informació relativa (e.g. %, ppm, mg/l...).

In Catalonia, according to the nitrate directive (91/676/EU), nine areas have been declared as vulnerable to nitrate pollution from agricultural sources (Decret 283/1998 and Decret 479/2004). Five of these areas have been studied coupling hydro chemical data with a multi-isotopic approach (Vitòria et al. 2005, Otero et al. 2007, Puig et al. 2007), in an ongoing research project looking for an integrated application of classical hydrochemistry data, with a comprehensive isotopic characterisation (δ15N and δ18O of dissolved nitrate, δ34S and δ18O of dissolved sulphate, δ13C of dissolved inorganic carbon, and δD and δ18O of water). Within this general frame, the contribution presented explores compositional ways of: (i) distinguish agrochemicals and manure N pollution, (ii) quantify natural attenuation of nitrate (denitrification), and identify possible controlling factors. To achieve this two-fold goal, the following techniques have been used. Separate biplots of each suite of data show that each studied region has a distinct δ34S and pH signatures, but they are homogeneous with regard to NO3- related variables. Also, the geochemical variables were projected onto the compositional directions associated with the possible denitrification reactions in each region. The resulting balances can be plot together with some isotopes, to assess their likelihood of occurrence Geologische Vereinigung; Institut d’Estadística de Catalunya; International Association for Mathematical Geology; Càtedra Lluís Santaló d’Aplicacions de la Matemàtica; Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament d’Innovació, Universitats i Recerca; Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia; Ingenio 2010.

Anàlisi funcional ,Estadística - Abstract
Functional Data Analysis (FDA) deals with samples where a whole function is observed for each individual. A particular case of FDA is when the observed functions are density functions, that are also an example of infinite dimensional compositional data. In this work we compare several methods for dimensionality reduction for this particular type of data: functional principal components analysis (PCA) with or without a previous data transformation and multidimensional scaling (MDS) for diferent inter-densities distances, one of them taking into account the compositional nature of density functions. The difeerent methods are applied to both artificial and real data (households income distributions) Geologische Vereinigung; Institut d’Estadística de Catalunya; International Association for Mathematical Geology; Càtedra Lluís Santaló d’Aplicacions de la Matemàtica; Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament d’Innovació, Universitats i Recerca; Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia; Ingenio 2010.
