Traditional data center infrastructure suffers from a lack of standard and ubiquitous management solutions. Despite the achieved advances, existing tools lack interoperability and are sometimes hardware dependent. Vendors are already actively participating in the specification and design of new standard software and hardware interfaces within different forums. Nevertheless, the complexity and variety of data center infrastructure components that includes servers, cooling, networking, and power hardware, coupled with the introduction of the software defined data center paradigm, led to the parallel development of a myriad of standardization efforts. In an attempt to shed light on recent works, we survey and discuss the main standardization efforts for traditional data center infrastructure management.

En Colombia es encargado de prestar servicios de almacenamiento y soporte en el área de operaciones, por lo que cuenta con un Data Center que permite que estos servicios se brinden de la mejor manera, razón por la cual, surge la necesidad de tener un control de los dispositivos que se encuentran allí, es por ello que nacen los DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management). Por lo anterior se quiere proponer otro sistema de monitoreo (DCIM), que permita un mayor control de los dispositivos del centro de datos, debido a que el sistema actual es analógico y no cuenta con los suficientes recursos para tener un registro de las condiciones ambientales, con este trabajo de grado se busca revisar diversos sistemas de monitoreo que brinden mayor información y que a su vez se puedan almacenar en un repositorio en la nube. In Colombia, it is in charge of providing storage and support services in the operations area, so it has a data center that allows these services to be provided in the best way, which is why the need to have control arises of the devices that are there, that is why the DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) were born. Therefore, we want to propose another monitoring system (DCIM), which allows greater control of the devices in the data center, because the current system is analog and does not have enough resources to have a record of environmental conditions. The human factor psychology are phenomenally adjust at identifying biases, errors, failures, defects, and deficiencies in how other people in the team think. The Institute Abnormal Incident Reports (AIRs) database reveals that approximately 70 percent of the reported data center outages are directly involved with human error. This paper has been investigated on 2 case studies, the case of data center failure of British Airways in May 2017, and data center assessment of two commercial banks in Bangkok Thailand. Data center outage according to operations and maintenance had been investigated subject to human factors much related to data center outages rather than systems failure. This paper proposes a personal certificated standard, an umbrella team structure, and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) to eliminate human error from data center operations and maintenance.

At present, the safety, high-efficiency, green are becoming the key issues of system networking for data center infrastructure management. Meanwhile, some communications technolgies have been utilized into it. Therefore, the data center infrastructure management system based on AI and big data technology is analyzed in this paper, including the architecture of the whole networking system, different functions in mangement system, the implement cases using data center infrastructure management system, the international and domestic standardization activities and future trend of research, etc.

Data Centers (DCs) are becoming increasingly important in recent years and require efficient operation and management. Thus, a topic of focus has been DC Infrastructure Management (DCIM) that can manage ICT equipment, power equipment, HVAC systems, etc. In this study, we developed a method to design the ICT equipment layout in the server room by using DCIM and Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The method's effectiveness was evaluated and its ability to achieve efficient data center operation and management was validated.

The Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) indicator for efficiency of data center infrastructure has been very successful. But focusing solely on PUE tends to restrict action to data center infrastructure management and in some situations even gives a perverse stimulus against optimization at the IT equipment and software levels. Despite the high relevance, no accepted metric has emerged to support optimization and allow the rating of the energy efficiency of the whole stack. This paper presents a metric, the Consumption Near Sweetspot (CNS), that for a part can fill this gap. It captures how well the system-relative energy efficiency optimum and its utilization are aligned. A strong point is, that it allows a comparison of functionally very different services. The metric is compared to the Fixed to Variable Energy Ratio (FVER) metric for data centers recently proposed by the British Computer Society.
