The increasing number of patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) has caused a substantial rise in the number of individuals receiving hemodialysis.ESRD, for most patients, is the result of kidney function deterioration over a period of time that is secondary to another chronic medical condition, such as diabetes or hypertension. Treatments that are currently available for ESRD include renal transplantation and a number of forms of renal dialysis. Objective- To assess the quality of life among the patient undergoing haemogialysis. Methodology- Quantitative approach and descriptive research design adopted for this study. Total 50 patients(30 male and 20female) selected for this study by purposive sampling technique. Result and Findings- this study found that most o the patient had poor quality of life due to the disease condition and haemodialysis. Conclusion- Chronic Kidney disease as increasing and patients opted for dialysis have idea to live, hence health professionals need to aware various factors influencing quality of life of those patients so that quality of life of these patients can be taken care to improve. Preterm birth, defined as birth at less than 37 completed weeks of gestation, remains a significant cause of infant mortality and morbidity worldwide. Preterm births are on the increase globally with about 15 million babies born preterm annually .Parents are central to children’s health and development and successful parenting is a key element in promoting overall parental wellbeing as well as children’s physical and psychosocial development. Family integrated care (FIC) is increasingly becoming a more popular model of care delivery in neonatal units. Objective To assess the existing level of competency on Parent Centered Developmental Care among the control and experimental group mothers of preterm neonates admitted in NICU Methodology Quantitative research approach and Quasi experimental design was adopted in this study. Simple random sampling Technique was adopted to select the sample for the study. Total 21 Samples - 10 for experimental group and 11 for control group were selected . Result and Findings: Regarding demographic variable of Mother and newborn shows that highest number 3(30%) & 3(27.3%) of Women were in the age group of 31-35years. With regards to level of Competency of mothers result shows that during pretest mothers 8(80%) had incomepetent level of practice and 2(20 %) had competency to perform the care for new born in the experimental group,10(90%) had incomepetent level of practice and 1(10 %)had competency to perform the care for new born in the control group . Whereas in post test 7(70%) mothers had achieved the level of competency and still 3(30 %) mothers were considered as incompetent in the experimental group and 9(88%) mothers had not achieved the level of competency and 2(12 %) mothers were considered as competent in the control group. Conclusion This above result of the study clearly indicates that there was significant improvement in the level of Competency after teaching programme and thus the Video assisted teaching programme on PCDC was found effective in improving the level of Competency among mothers of Preterm neonates. The birth of preterm infant can turn the parents pleasure into pain. WHO report on preterm birth, half of babies born below 37 weeks die due to lack of cost effective care such as warmth, breast feeding support, basic care to prevent infection etc.. More than three quarters of these death could be prevented with current, cost-effective interventions. Evidence suggesting that parent involvement was beneficial for infant and parent outcome, the Parent centered developmental care was one of the pragmatic approaches to enable parents to become primary care givers in NICU. Screening for cancer is plays important role to reduce mortality and morbidity by early detection and treatment. However, despite availability of various screening method for cervical cancer, women are not showing interest to participate in screening in regions where programme are available. Objective To assess the effectiveness of sensitization program on level of acceptance among group I and group II women at the selected Villages of Puducherry. Methodology Quantitative research approach and Quasi experimental design was adopted in this study. Simple random sampling Technique was adopted to select the sample for the study. Total 20 Samples - 10 for experimental group and 10 for control group were selected. Result and Findings: Regarding demographic variable the study findings are: majority 40% and 70% of women were in the age group of 25-35yrs and 36-45yrs in the group I and II respectively. With regards to acceptance of Screening method it was found that in group I all 10(100%) women had accepted whereas from group II only 1(10%) had accepted for test Conclusion- This study findings highlights that participants acceptance towards self sampling method is better than for assisted sampling method. Background: Inadequate dietary intake of iron is the most common cause of anemia among Indian pregnant women. Increasing awareness of nutritional iron supplementation helps to reduce the impact of anemia in pregnancy. Objective: The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of nutrition education on nutritional knowledge, attitude, practices, compliance to Iron-folate therapy, and hemoglobin levels among anemic pregnant women. Methods: This intervention study was conducted from December 2020 to March 2021 in a secondary care level women and child hospital at Puducherry, India. The intervention group (n=59) and control group (n=58) included mild to moderately anemic pregnant women attending antenatal clinics. Nutrition education intervention and SMS alerts for four weeks were given to the mothers. Baseline data and hemoglobin levels were measured at the time of enrolment. Maternal compliance to iron-folate tablets (IFA) was assessed using a five-item Medical Adherence Rating Scale (MARS-5). End line data were collected after 4 weeks of nutrition education intervention. Results: At the end of the nutrition education intervention, there was a significant improvement in the hemoglobin level in the intervention group compared to the control group (P<0.02). The change in the knowledge, attitude and practice scores regarding nutritional management of anemia and maternal compliance to iron-folate therapy were significantly high in the intervention group over the control group (P<0.001). Conclusion: Individual nutrition education was significantly associated with improved nutritional knowledge, attitude, practice scores, and compliance to IFA tablets. Cleft lip and palate (CLP) affect about one baby of every 700 newborn due to alterations in the normal development of the primary and/or secondary palate. The prevalence of clefts in India is between 27,000 and 33,000/year. Searches were undertaken in PubMed, Cochrane database, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases, for primary research studies that report on feeding interventions/feeding techniques/feeding methods, challenges faced by mother/care taker/health personnel as they include most of the publications in this area. Papers were independently reviewed by two authors and Thomas et al's assessment criteria checklist (2003) was used to assess the methodological quality. This systematic review was registered in PROSPERO under number CRD42020208437. The review included 25 studies: 21 quantitative, 2 qualitative, and two mixed methods study, involving 1564 infants and children (age ranging from 1 week to 5 years old) and 790 mothers of Infants with CLP from 13 countries. While comparing the efficacy of the three feeding techniques such as paladai fed, bottle fed, and spoon fed in improving the weight gain pattern the result showed mean weight gain among paladai feeding was better than the bottle or spoon-feeding. Common feeding problems observed were nasal regurgitation, vomiting, and choking, etc. Infants with cleft palate had some major challenges such as aspiration, choking, and inadequate growth. Beyond the esthetic and psychologic implications of the presence of orofacial clefts, the feeding of the child is usually the next concern of the parents and caregivers, a factor which can result in considerable stress to the mother. A prompt diagnosis, especially of a CP, and visit by the cleft team immediately after the birth so that the family can be supported and taught the skills of feeding, is essential. A Non experimental descriptive approach was used for this study. Objectives are to assess the knowledge regarding the adverse effect of alcoholism among adolescents and to find out the association between the level of knowledge with selected demographic variables. The study was carried out in Panchayat Union Middle School, Pallipattu at Vaniyambadi. The sample comprised of 60 adolescents studying in 6t` to 8t` standard, selected by convenience sampling technique. A total of 60 students selected for the study by using structured knowledge questionnaire. The result of this study showed that students having 53.3% average knowledge regarding adverse effect of alcoholism and no significant association was found between demographic variables and knowledge level.
