In a pandemic like Covid-19, there are many countries of lower-earning cannot provide a complete locked-down within the duration of the detected case. The locked-down may result in famine throughout the region of underdeveloped countries after the outbreak. So, a conjectural setup of an epidemic has been studied by applying specific period of locked-down (30 days) in 5 different scenarios. The stochastic approach to the SEIR (Susceptible, Exposed, Infected and Recovered) model has been used to evaluate the dynamics and the effects of locked-down. It is observed that there exist a suitable period to apply locked-down where more susceptible escape from the infection. The effect of the early (as soon as the infected case detected) and late (with respect to the estimated peak of detected cases for no locked-down) implementation of the locked-down has also been studied and found that the late implementation of locked-down will take the least time to end the epidemic. The CFR (Case Fatality Rate) has also been found to be varied from 7.55 to 8.02 for all the considered scenarios., Comment: 9 pages (including references), 1 diagrams and 5 figures

We study the diffusion of charm and beauty in the early stage of high energy nuclear collisions at RHIC and LHC energies, considering the interaction of these heavy quarks with the evolving Glasma by means of the Wong equations. In comparison with previous works, we add the longitudinal expansion as well as we estimate the effect of energy loss due to gluon radiation. We find that heavy quarks diffuse in the strong transverse color fields in the very early stage (0.2-0.3 fm/c) and this leads to a suppression at low $p_T$ and enhancement at intermediate low $p_T$. The shape of the observed nuclear suppression factor obtained within our calculations is in qualitative agreement with the experimental results of the same quantity for $D-$mesons in proton-nucleus collisions. We compute the nuclear suppression factor in nucleus-nucleus collisions as well, for both charm and beauty, finding a substantial impact of the evolving Glasma phase on these, suggesting that initialization of heavy quarks spectra in the quark-gluon plasma phase should not neglect the early evolution in the strong gluon fields., Comment: 12 pages, 8+1 figures. A generalized equation is constructed for a class of classical oscillators with strong anharmonicity which are not exactly solvable. Aboodh transform based homotopy perturbation method (ATHPM) is applied to get the approximate analytical solution for the generalized equation and hence some physically relevant anharmonic oscillators are studied as the special cases of this solution. ATHPM is very simple and hence provides the approximate analytical solution of the generalized equation without any mathematical rigor. The solution from this simple method not only shows excellent agreement with the exact numerical results but also found to be better accuracy in comparison to the solutions obtained from other established approximation methods whenever compared for physically relevant special cases.

We study the propagation of heavy quarks (HQs) in the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) by means of a relativistic Boltzmann transport (RBT) approach. The non-perturbative interaction between heavy quarks and light quarks is described by means of a quasi-particle approach able to describe simultaneously the experimental data for the nuclear suppression factor $R_{\rm AA}$ and the elliptic flow $v_2(p_T)$ of D mesons from RHIC to LHC energies. In the same framework we predict the B meson nuclear modification factor at LHC. Finally, we discuss the relevance of initial state fluctuations that allows to extend the analysis to high order anisotropic flows $v_n(p_T)$ as well as to investigate the role of QCD interaction in developing correlations between the light and the heavy flavour anisotropic flows., Comment: 27th International Conference on Ultrarelativistic Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions (Quark Matter 2018)

We report on broadly based systematic investigations of the modeling components for open heavy-flavor diffusion and energy loss in strongly interacting matter in their application to heavy-flavor observables in high-energy heavy-ion collisions, conducted within an EMMI Rapid Reaction Task Force framework. Initial spectra including cold-nuclear-matter effects, a wide variety of space-time evolution models, heavy-flavor transport coefficients, and hadronization mechanisms are scrutinized in an effort to quantify pertinent uncertainties in the calculations of nuclear modification factors and elliptic flow of open heavy-flavor particles in nuclear collisions. The decay of odd-odd $^{150}$Pm has been studied by populating the nucleus with the $^{150}$Nd(p,n)$^{150}$Pm reaction at E$_{beam}$ = 8.0 MeV using 97$\%$ enriched $^{150}$Nd target. The presence of an isomeric state with $\beta$ decay half life of 2.2(1) h could be identified in $^{150}$Pm by following the half lives of the observed $\gamma$ transitions. The decay of the isomer to the excited levels of $^{150}$Sm has been confirmed by observing the $\gamma - \gamma$ coincidence with the VENUS array of six Compton suppressed Clover HPGe detectors. The $\beta$ decay end-point energies corresponding to the decay from the $^{150g}$Pm and $^{150m}$Pm have been measured using a $\beta-\gamma$ coincidence setup of two thin window Planar HPGe detectors and four Clover HPGe detectors of the VENUS array. The systematics of the similar isomeric states in neighboring nuclei has been studied to understand the underlying structure of these states. Shell model calculation has been performed by using OXBASH code which indicates the presence of a 5$^-$ isomeric state at very low excitation in the nucleus. The calculation also suggests hindered electromagnetic decay of this isomer and supports the possibility of its $\beta$ decay to the excited levels of $^{150}$Sm., Comment: 15 pages, 13 figures

Open and hidden heavy-flavor physics in high-energy nuclear collisions are entering a new and exciting stage towards reaching a clearer understanding of the new experimental results with the possibility to link them directly to the advancement in lattice Quantum Chromo-dynamics (QCD). Recent results from experiments and theoretical developments regarding open and hidden heavy-flavor dynamics have been debated at the Lorentz Workshop "Tomography of the quark-gluon plasma with heavy quarks}, which was held in October 2016 in Leiden, the Netherlands. Two different probes, viz., 111In/111Cd and 181Hf/181Ta, simultaneously have been incorporated in both pure rutile and Hafnium (Hf) -doped rutile Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) systems following a soft chemical method. The local information around two different probe sites in the same sample could be extracted in a single Time Differential Perturbed Angular Correlation (TDPAC) measurement using LIST mode data acquisition. The two probes were incorporated in the rutile samples by co-precipitation technique and then annealed at 1273K for 10h to get the rutile structure. The rutile structure was identified by the hyperfine parameters, viz., quadrupole frequency ({\omega}Q) and asymmetry (eta). At 111Cd site, {\omega}Q=16.8(1) Mrad/s and eta=0.19(1) while at 181Ta site, {\omega}Q=127.2(2) Mrad/s and eta=0.56(1). Due to the doping of Hf at 5 and 10 atom%, the sample partially lost the purity of the crystal and the fact has been reflected at both the probe sites., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures, 2 tables

Excitation functions were measured by stacked-foil activation technique for the $^{150}$Nd(p, xpyn) reaction using 97.65$%$ enriched $^{150}$Nd target. Measurement up to $\sim$50$%$ above barrier and down to 18$%$ below the barrier was performed using proton beam energy (E$_p$) of 7 - 15 MeV from VECC Cyclotron. The yield of suitable $\gamma$ rays emitted following the decay of relevant evaporation residues was determined using a 50$%$ High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detector.(p,n) cross section was found to follow the expected trend with a maximum value of 63.7(4.9)mb at E$_p$ $\sim$ 8.6 MeV. (p,2n) cross section gradually increased with E$_p$ and had maximum contribution to the total reaction cross section after E$_p$ $\sim$ 9.0 MeV. (p, p$^{\prime}$n) reaction channel also showed a reasonable yield with a threshold of E$_p$ $\sim$ 12.0 MeV. The experimental data were corroborated with statistical model calculations using different codes, viz., CASCADE, ALICE/91 and EMPIRE3.1. All the calculations using a suitable set of global parameters could reproduce the excitation function fairly well in the present energy range.

The end point energies of nuclear $\beta$ decays have been measured with a segmented planar Ge LEPS detector using both singles and coincidence techniques. The $\beta - \gamma$ coincidence has been performed with a segmented planar Ge LEPS and a single 10$\%$ HPGe detector. The $\gamma$ ray and $\beta$ particle responses of the Segmented planer Ge LEPS detector were studied using monte carlo simulation code GEANT3. The experimentally obtained $\beta$ spectrum was in reasonably good agreement with the simulation results. The experimental end point energies are determined with substantial accuracy for some of the known $\beta$ decays in $^{106}$Rh, $^{210}$Bi and $^{90}$Y. The end point energies corresponding to three weak branches in $^{106}$Rh $\rightarrow$ $^{106}$Pd decay has been measured for the first time., Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures and 1 table

30 keV 111mCd and 50 keV 199mHg beams from ISOLDE were used to implant on preformed target of C60 with the thickness of 1 mg/cm2. Endofullerene compounds, viz.,111mCd@C60 and 199mHg@C60 formed during implantation were separated by filtration through micropore filter paper followed by solvent extraction. Dried samples of the endofullerene compounds were counted for the coincidence for the 151-245 keV cascade of 111mCd and 374-158 keV cascade for 199mHg for the TDPAC measurement on a six LaBr3 detector system coupled with digital electronics. The results indicate a single site occupied by the Cd atom in the fullerene cage with fast relaxation component which means that the Cd atom does move inside the cage at room temperature. The quadrupole interaction frequency and asymmetry parameter of the Cd atom occupying the site in C60 are WQ=8.14(42) Mrad/s and eta= 0.42(9) respectively with a site population of 28%. Fast relaxation constant is 0.003 ns-1 with a site contribution of 72%. On the other hand, Hg atom has two static sites of quadrupole frequencies, WQ1=281.60(16.9) Mrad/s and WQ2=202.30(22.7) Mrad/s. Respective asymmetry parameters are eta1=0.1(1) and eta2=0.2(1). The static components have a contribution of 40% with the rest 60% coming from the fast relaxing component., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures one table

Electron Capture (EC) decay of $^{146}$Gd($\it{t_{1/2}}$ = 48d) to the low lying states of $^{146}$Eu has been studied using high-resolution $\gamma$ ray spectroscopy. The $^{146}$Gd activity was produced by ($\alpha$, 2n) reaction at E$_{\alpha}$ = 32 MeV using 93.8% enriched $^{144}$Sm target. The level structure has been considerably modified from the measurement of $\gamma$ ray singles, $\gamma\gamma$ coincidences and decay half lives. Lifetime measurement has been performed for the 3$^-$ (114.06 keV) and 2$^-$ (229.4 keV) levels of $^{146}$Eu using Mirror Symmetric Centroid Difference (MSCD) method with LaBr$_3$ (Ce) detectors. The lifetimes for these two states have been found to be 5.38 $\pm$ 2.36 ps and 8.38 $\pm$ 2.19 ps respectively. We study the excess free energy due to phase coexistence of fluids by Monte Carlo simulations using successive umbrella sampling in finite LxLxL boxes with periodic boundary conditions. Both the vapor-liquid phase coexistence of a simple Lennard-Jones fluid and the coexistence between A-rich and B-rich phases of a symmetric binary (AB) Lennard-Jones mixture are studied, varying the density rho in the simple fluid or the relative concentration x_A of A in the binary mixture, respectively. The character of phase coexistence changes from a spherical droplet (or bubble) of the minority phase (near the coexistence curve) to a cylindrical droplet (or bubble) and finally (in the center of the miscibility gap) to a slab-like configuration of two parallel flat interfaces. Extending the analysis of M. Schrader, P. Virnau, and K. Binder [Phys. Rev. E 79, 061104 (2009)], we extract the surface free energy gamma (R) of both spherical and cylindrical droplets and bubbles in the vapor-liquid case, and present evidence that for R -> Infinity the leading order (Tolman) correction for droplets has sign opposite to the case of bubbles, consistent with the Tolman length being independent on the sign of curvature. For the symmetric binary mixture the expected non-existence of the Tolman length is confirmed. In all cases {and for a range of radii} R relevant for nucleation theory, gamma(R) deviates strongly from gamma (Infinity) which can be accounted for by a term of order gamma(Infinity)/gamma(R)-1 ~ 1/R^2. Our results for the simple Lennard-Jones fluid are also compared to results from density functional theory and we find qualitative agreement in the behavior of gamma(R) as well as in the sign and magnitude of the Tolman length., Comment: 25 pages, submitted to J. Phase transition from anatase to rutile for the 70nm TiO2 crystallite has been investigated by annealing at different temperatures followed by TDPAC measurement of these TiO2 crystallites adsorbed with 181Hf tracer. The width of the peaks in XRD spectra for TiO2 crystallites annealed at different temperatures indicates the growth of the crystallites with temperature. The samples annealed upto 823K for 4hrs showed no phase transition, except the growth of the crystallites. However, it showed phase transition at the same temperature (823K), when annealed for longer duration. Annealing for shorter duration at 1123K showed phase transition. 181Hf tracer adsorbed on 70 nm anatase TiO2 is found to be in different polymorphs (anatase & rutile) formed during annealing process. Surface to bulk mass-transfer is found to play a significant role in the phase transition process., Comment: 14 pages, 4 figures
