This study makes an attempt to examine the exchange rate pass-through (ERPT) to domestic prices in India from 1993M4 to 2021M3. In the empirical literature, the relationship between the exchange rate and the price was found to be linear. However, in emerging economies recently the asymmetric relationship between these variables is noticed: the effect of appreciation on price is found to be negligible while the effect of depreciation is found to be significant. To study this behaviour, we have used non-linear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model by employing five variables (viz., exchange rate, consumer price, output gap, money supply and oil prices). The structural break techniques are used to examine the differential effects of the pass-through. It found that exchange rate shocks do not lead to significant changes in consumer prices in the long run. In terms of policy, this means that the ERPT has insignificant consequences for monetary policy, and depreciation might pose a little threat to price stability. It is also established that oil price shocks are not one of the major determinants of inflation in the country and they do not pose serious challenges to price stability. Intrinsic human capacities or character strengths have been widely known to have much impact on the well-being of adolescents. However, less is clear about the role of character strengths and virtues in either the prevention or precipitation of psychological disorders. The current study aims to understand the relationship between 24-character strengths and internalizing and externalizing problems among adolescents. This is a short study that incorporated 30 students of 13 to 17 years of age from the community using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Values in Action Inventory of Strengths for Youth (VIA-Youth) for evaluating 24-character strengths and Youth Self Report (YSR) for assessing psychological problems. Statistical analysis involved correlational and stepwise regression methods. Findings reflected the character strengths to have a significant predictive and contributory impact on behavioural and psychological ailments among adolescents. Meaning in life is a crucial positive psychological construct that helps to bring about a reformative experience in people. The experience of suffering often leads to poor life satisfaction and inner void because of which the convicts face difficulty in realizing the meaningfulness of their existence. In view of this, the current study aimed to determine whether there is any contribution of hope, forgiveness, posttraumatic growth and depression in the presence of meaning in life of the convicts. The sample comprised of 165 convicts who stayed at a Correctional Home. The tools that were used in the study were Information Schedule to obtain socio-demographic details, The Trait Hope Scale (Snyder, 2002); Meaning in Life Questionnaire (Steger et al., 2006); Heartland Forgiveness Scale (Thompson et al., 2005); the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (Tedeschi & Calhoun, 1996); and Beck Depression Inventory - II (Beck et al., 1996). The administration of the tools was done following the standardized protocol with the convicts. The results showed that hope pathways, depression, relating to others which a subdomain of posttraumatic growth and forgiveness of situation have significant contribution in the presence of meaning in life of the convicts. All the variables positively predicted presence of meaning in life, except depression. The findings can help in formulating rehabilitation programmes for the convicts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Law violation amongst adolescents have become a very important area of concern for the nation as a whole. In the current study, the objectives are to find whether there exist any neuropsychological markers that will help to differentiate children in conflict with law (CCL) from neurotypicals who have never engaged in law violation and also to find whether there exists any significant difference between CCL-I, CCL-E and CCL-M with respect to the neuropsychological markers. The sample included 59 adolescents out of which 10 were neurotypicals, 14 CCL with predominantly internalising manifestation (CCL-I), 17 CCL with predominantly externalising manifestation (CCL-E), 18 CCL with both internalising and externalising manifestation (CCL-M). The tools used in the study are Child Behaviour Checklist-Youth Self Report(CBCL/YSR), Bhatia Battery of Performance tests and three subtests from Delis-Kaplan Executive Functioning System. Statistical analysis was done using Kruskal Wallis test. Test results included significant differences between the groups with respect to 'Twenty Questions Test' and 'Colourword Interference Test'. 1. Introduction and Motivation Grid computing uses software to integrate computing resources across a distributed and heterogenous set of computers linked by a network. These resources can be composed of […], Grid computing uses software to integrate computing resources, such as CPU cycles, storage, network bandwidth, and even applications, across a distributed and heterogeneous set of networked computers. It is now widely deployed by organizations and provides seamless temporary processing-capacity expansion to handle peak-period demand on e-commerce servers, distributed gaming, and content storage and distribution. We develop a market-based resource-allocation model that adds an economic layer to the current approach of treating resource allocation as primarily a scheduling issue. We design a value-elicitation and allocation scheme that provides the economic incentives for buyers and sellers of computing resources to exchange assets. We formulate the problem as a combinatorial call auction and present a portfolio of three solution approaches that trade off economic properties, such as allocative efficiency, incentive compatibility, and fairness in allocation, with computational efficiency. The first of these is an efficient solution that maximizes social welfare and yields incentive-compatible Vickrey-Clarke-Groves prices, but requires solving multiple instances of an NP-hard problem. For markets where having a commodity price is critical, we show how the addition of fairness constraints to the efficient model can somewhat reduce the computational burden and yet preserve incentive compatibility. Finally, for markets that require real-time fast solution techniques, we propose a time-sensitive fair Grid (tsfGRID) heuristic that relaxes the maximal allocation requirement of the welfare-maximizing fair solution. Its solution is not guaranteed to be incentive-compatible, but the heuristic is designed to be fast, maintain fairness in allocations, and yield commodity prices. Notably, while incentive compatibility is not guaranteed by tsfGRID, computational results comparing it with the efficient solution technique indicate that there are no significant differences in the expected-revenue and operational-allocative characteristics.
