Wireless Network-on-Chip (WNoC) is a promising concept which provides a solution to overcome the scalability issues in prevailing networks-in-package for many-core processors. However, the electromagnetic propagation inside the chip package leads to energy reverberation, resulting in Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) with high delay spreads. Time Reversal (TR) is a technique that benefits the unique time-invariant channel with rich multipath effects to focus the energy to the desired transceiver. TR mitigates both ISI and co-channel interference, hence providing parallel communications in both space and time. Thus, TR is a versatile candidate to improve the aggregate bandwidth of wireless on-chip networks provided that a Medium Access Control (MAC) is used to efficiently share the wireless medium. In this paper, we explore a simple yet resilient TR-based MAC protocol (TR-MAC) design for WNoC. We propose to manage multiple parallel transmissions with simultaneous spatial channels in the same time slot with TR precoding and focused energy detection at the transceiver. Our results show that TR-MAC can be employed in massive computing architectures with improved latency and throughput while matching with the stringent requirements of the physical layer.

Script identification plays a vital role in applications that involve handwriting and document analysis within a multi-script and multi-lingual environment. Moreover, it exhibits a profound connection with human cognition. This paper provides a new database for benchmarking script identification algorithms, which contains both printed and handwritten documents collected from a wide variety of scripts, such as Arabic, Bengali (Bangla), Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Devanagari, Japanese, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Roman, Tamil, Telugu, and Thai. The dataset consists of 1,135 documents scanned from local newspaper and handwritten letters as well as notes from different native writers. Further, these documents are segmented into lines and words, comprising a total of 13,979 and 86,655 lines and words, respectively, in the dataset. Easy-to-go benchmarks are proposed with handcrafted and deep learning methods. The benchmark includes results at the document, line, and word levels with printed and handwritten documents. Results of script identification independent of the document/line/word level and independent of the printed/handwritten letters are also given. The new multi-lingual database is expected to create new script identifiers, present various challenges, including identifying handwritten and printed samples and serve as a foundation for future research in script identification based on the reported results of the three benchmarks.

Computer-aided segmentation methods can assist medical personnel in improving diagnostic outcomes. While recent advancements like UNet and its variants have shown promise, they face a critical challenge: balancing accuracy with computational efficiency. Shallow encoder architectures in UNets often struggle to capture crucial spatial features, leading in inaccurate and sparse segmentation. To address this limitation, we propose a novel \underline{P}rogressive \underline{A}ttention based \underline{M}obile \underline{UNet} (\underline{PAM-UNet}) architecture. The inverted residual (IR) blocks in PAM-UNet help maintain a lightweight framework, while layerwise \textit{Progressive Luong Attention} ($\mathcal{PLA}$) promotes precise segmentation by directing attention toward regions of interest during synthesis. Our approach prioritizes both accuracy and speed, achieving a commendable balance with a mean IoU of 74.65 and a dice score of 82.87, while requiring only 1.32 floating-point operations per second (FLOPS) on the Liver Tumor Segmentation Benchmark (LiTS) 2017 dataset. Symmetric key cryptography stands as a fundamental cornerstone in ensuring security within contemporary electronic communication frameworks. The cryptanalysis of classical symmetric key ciphers involves traditional methods and techniques aimed at breaking or analyzing these cryptographic systems. In the evaluation of new ciphers, the resistance against linear and differential cryptanalysis is commonly a key design criterion. The wide trail design technique for block ciphers facilitates the demonstration of security against linear and differential cryptanalysis. Assessing the scheme's security against differential attacks often involves determining the minimum number of active SBoxes for all rounds of a cipher. The propagation characteristics of a cryptographic component, such as an SBox, can be expressed using Boolean functions. Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) proves to be a valuable technique for solving Boolean functions. We formulate a set of inequalities to model a Boolean function, which is subsequently solved by an MILP solver. To efficiently model a Boolean function and select a minimal set of inequalities, two key challenges must be addressed. We propose algorithms to address the second challenge, aiming to find more optimized linear and non-linear components. Our approaches are applied to modeling SBoxes (up to six bits) and EXOR operations with any number of inputs. Additionally, we introduce an MILP-based automatic tool for exploring differential and impossible differential propagations within a cipher. Foundational models (FMs) have tremendous potential to revolutionize medical imaging. However, their deployment in real-world clinical settings demands extensive ethical considerations. This paper aims to highlight the ethical concerns related to FMs and propose a framework to guide their responsible development and implementation within medicine. We meticulously examine ethical issues such as privacy of patient data, bias mitigation, algorithmic transparency, explainability and accountability. The proposed framework is designed to prioritize patient welfare, mitigate potential risks, and foster trust in AI-assisted healthcare.

This work proposes a novel process of using pen tip and tail 3D trajectory for air signature. To acquire the trajectories we developed a new pen tool and a stereo camera was used. We proposed SliT-CNN, a novel 2D spatial-temporal convolutional neural network (CNN) for better featuring of the air signature. In addition, we also collected an air signature dataset from $45$ signers. Skilled forgery signatures per user are also collected. Recent literature has witnessed significant interest towards 3D biometrics employing monocular vision for robust authentication methods. Motivated by this, in this work we seek to provide insight on recent development in the area of 3D biometrics employing monocular vision. We present the similarity and dissimilarity of 3D monocular biometrics and classical biometrics, listing the strengths and challenges. Further, we provide an overview of recent techniques in 3D biometrics with monocular vision, as well as application systems adopted by the industry. Vision Transformers (ViTs) have become ubiquitous in computer vision. Despite their success, ViTs lack inductive biases, which can make it difficult to train them with limited data. To address this challenge, prior studies suggest training ViTs with self-supervised learning (SSL) and fine-tuning sequentially. However, we observe that jointly optimizing ViTs for the primary task and a Self-Supervised Auxiliary Task (SSAT) is surprisingly beneficial when the amount of training data is limited. We explore the appropriate SSL tasks that can be optimized alongside the primary task, the training schemes for these tasks, and the data scale at which they can be most effective. Our findings reveal that SSAT is a powerful technique that enables ViTs to leverage the unique characteristics of both the self-supervised and primary tasks, achieving better performance than typical ViTs pre-training with SSL and fine-tuning sequentially. Our experiments, conducted on 10 datasets, demonstrate that SSAT significantly improves ViT performance while reducing carbon footprint. We also confirm the effectiveness of SSAT in the video domain for deepfake detection, showcasing its generalizability. This work explores various ways of exploring multi-task learning (MTL) techniques aimed at classifying videos as original or manipulated in cross-manipulation scenario to attend generalizability in deep fake scenario. The dataset used in our evaluation is FaceForensics++, which features 1000 original videos manipulated by four different techniques, with a total of 5000 videos. We conduct extensive experiments on multi-task learning and contrastive techniques, which are well studied in literature for their generalization benefits. It can be concluded that the proposed detection model is quite generalized, i.e., accurately detects manipulation methods not encountered during training as compared to the state-of-the-art.

Welch--Gong (WG) is a hardware-oriented LFSR-based stream cipher. WG-7 is a version of the eStream submission Welch--Gong, used for RFID encryption and authentication purposes. It offers 80-bit cryptographic security. In modern days, almost all ciphers achieve the security by exploiting the nonlinear feedback structure. In this paper, we investigate the security of the nonlinear feedback-based initialization phase of the WG-7 stream cipher using the conventional bit-based division property of cube attack, by considering the cipher in a non-blackbox polynomial setting. In our work, we mount the cube attack using mixed-integer-linear-programming(MILP) models. The results of our attack enable us to recover the secret key of WG-7 after 20 rounds of initialization utilizing $2^{10}$ keystream bits in $2^{73}$ time. We show that our proposed attack takes significantly lower data complexity. To the best of our knowledge, our attack is the first one that investigates the security of the nonlinear feedback-based initialization phase of WG-7 cipher.

Inspired by the recent work of Nima Arkani Hamed and collaborators who introduced the notion of positive geometry to account for the structure of tree-level scattering amplitudes in bi-adjoint $\phi^3$ theory, which led to one-loop descriptions of the integrands. Here we consider the one-loop integrals themselves in $\phi^3$ theory. In order to achieve this end, the geometrical construction offered by Schnetz for Feynman diagrams is hereby extended, and the results are presented. The extension relies on masking the loop momentum variable with a constant and proceeding with the calculations. The results appear as a construction given in a diagrammatic manner. The significance of the resulting triangular diagrams is that they have a common side amongst themselves for the corresponding Feynman diagrams they pertain to. Further extensions to this mathematical construction can lead to additional insights into higher loops. On relating the three primary colors namely red, green and blue with a triplet representation of the non-abelian group $SU(3)$, it is established that the three secondary and six tertiary colors along with two neutral colors transform as anti-triplet and octet under the same group respectively.

The need to efficiently execute different Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) on the same computing platform, coupled with the requirement for easy scalability, makes Multi-Chip Module (MCM)-based accelerators a preferred design choice. Such an accelerator brings together heterogeneous sub-accelerators in the form of chiplets, interconnected by a Network-on-Package (NoP). This paper addresses the challenge of selecting the most suitable sub-accelerators, configuring them, determining their optimal placement in the NoP, and mapping the layers of a predetermined set of DNNs spatially and temporally. The objective is to minimise execution time and energy consumption during parallel execution while also minimising the overall cost, specifically the silicon area, of the accelerator. This paper presents MOHaM, a framework for multi-objective hardware-mapping co-optimisation for multi-DNN workloads on chiplet-based accelerators. MOHaM exploits a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm that has been specialised for the given problem by incorporating several customised genetic operators. MOHaM is evaluated against state-of-the-art Design Space Exploration (DSE) frameworks on different multi-DNN workload scenarios. The solutions discovered by MOHaM are Pareto optimal compared to those by the state-of-the-art. Specifically, MOHaM-generated accelerator designs can reduce latency by up to $96\%$ and energy by up to $96.12\%$.
