Abstract

We study the solvability of a quadratic integral equation of fractional order with linear modification of the argument. This equation is considered in the Banach space of real functions defined, bounded and continuous on an unbounded interval. Moreover, we will obtain some asymptotic characterization of solutions.

In this paper, we establish an existence theorem for a cubic Urysohn-Stieltjes integral equation in the Banach space C([0, 1]). The equation under consideration is a general form of numerous integral equations encountered in the theory of radioactive transfer, in the kinetic theory of gases and in the theory of neutron transport. We investigate a q-fractional integral equation with supremum and prove an existence theorem for it. We will prove that our q-integral equation has a solution in C[0, 1] which is monotonic on [0, 1]. Using the technique of a suitable measure of noncompactness in Banach algebra, we prove an existence theorem for some functional-integral equations in Banach algebra, namely Erdélyi–Kober quadratic functional-integral equation.
