A novel mode converter with broad bandwidth, high mode conversion efficiency, and large fabrication tolerance is proposed and fabricated on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform. By using a modified 3 × 3 multimode interference coupler and an enlarged butterfly-shaped phase shifter, mode conversion from the fundamental mode (TE0) to second-order mode (TE2) is achieved numerically and experimentally. Performance analysis of the mode converter is carried out numerically, and the results show high performance of the mode converter with mode conversion efficiency larger than 91% (i.e., insertion loss less than 0.40 dB) in the whole C-band. In addition, the mode converter has large fabrication tolerance. For example, the width and the length deviations of the multimode interference coupler can be as large as 50 and 250 nm, respectively, whereas the width and the length deviations of the phase shifter can be up to 25 and 400 nm, respectively.

In order to help homeowners to control the temperature of each room in the case of household heating, the heating system with remote control is proposed based on Internet of things by using the distributed and networking technology. The core controller inculdes the STM32 incorporated with ARM Cortex-M3 and the MSP430 of the TI company. MSP430 captures the temperature of each room, and then transmits it to the user's core via wireless transmission ARM. The ARM controls the heating pipe valve of every room to realize the personalized temperature control. The data is send to the heating unit through the building control network as the asis for calculating heat costs. The remote monitoring of home's temperature can be achieved through the Internet of things. The design runs by the simulation equipment of laboratory to achieve good results.

A novel integrable optical analog-to-digital converter (OADC) scheme based on phase-shifted optical quantization has been proposed for years, the quantization module of which is mainly composed of a 1×2 multi-mode interference (MMI) coupler, a phase modulator and a 4×4MMI. Although the manufacture technology of 1×2 MMI and phase modulator has been very mature, the 4×4MMI on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate with superior performance has not been realized. Since the 4×4MMI is crucial for the realization of the OADC, we designed and fabricated a 4×4 MMI coupler on SOI substrate. The width and length of the multi-mode section are 10.2 um and 182.6 um respectively. Measurement results show that the imbalance of the four output ports at 1550-nm is around 1.9 dB, while the insertion losses are 5.6 dB.

We propose a novel high-performance mode convertor based on Multimode Interference waveguides, which can convert the fundamental mode (TE0) to the second-order mode (TE2). Simulation results show that the device is wavelength insensitive and has excellent fabrication tolerance.

A new method for determining the optical impurity of Pregabalin is developed. The method is based on Pregabalin, and its isomers can be derivatized with Na-5-fluoro-2,4-dinitrophenyl-5-L-alanine amide. These derivated compounds can be separated by an ordinary chromatography column (Inertsil ODS-2.5 microm, 250 mmx4.6 mm i.d.). Phosphoric acid buffer and acetonitrile (55:45, v/v) are used as mobile phase and 1.0 mL/min flow rate at room temperature. The detective wavelength is fixed at 340 nm. The results indicate that the limit of detection of R model optical impurity 1.1x10(-8) g/mL (signal-to-noise=3), accuracy, and repeatability is satisfied. Therefore, the method can be used for the quality control of Pregabalin.

Combined with the construction of agricultural mechanics of quality curriculum in Shandong university of technology, The plan for improving the quality curriculum standard was established by analyzing content plan, teaching module, testing and assessing system, and timely update system of this course, which laid a foundation for a high level of quality curriculum.

Based on the analysis on the computer vision detection unit of the automated guided vehicle system (AGVS), some image processing methods are studied, an algorithm for guiding line detection by Hough transformation is presented. The calculation results for two typical practical lines are satisfactory. However, the algorithm should be optimized further to save time for the practical system application.
