Spacecraft image denoising is a crucial basic technology closely related to aerospace research. However, the existing deep learning-based image denoising methods lack deep consideration of the characteristics of spacecraft image. To address the aforementioned shortcomings, we analyses spacecraft noise image and identifies two main characteristics. One is that there are a large number of low-light images in the obtained spacecraft noise image dataset. Another is there are a lot of repetitive periodic features in spacecraft image. According to the above mentioned characteristics, we propose a Edge modeling Activation Free Fourier Network (EAFFN), which is an efficient spacecraft image denoising method including Edge Modeling Block (EMB) and Activation Free Fourier Block (AFFB). We present EMB to effectively model edge and extract structural information and better identify the spacecraft components from dark regions in spacecraft noise image. We present AFFB and utilize an improved fast fourier block to extract repetitive periodic features and long-range information in noisy spacecraft image. In addition, Simple Gate is designed in our AFFB to reduce the computational complexity. Extensive experimental results demonstrate our EAFFN performs competitively to the state-of-the-art on spacecraft noise image datasets.

Image restoration aims to recover high-quality images from their corrupted counterparts. Many existing methods primarily focus on the spatial domain, neglecting the understanding of frequency variations and ignoring the impact of implicit noise in skip connections. In this paper, we introduce a multi-scale frequency selection network (MSFSNet) that seamlessly integrates spatial and frequency domain knowledge, selectively recovering richer and more accurate information. Specifically, we initially capture spatial features and input them into dynamic filter selection modules (DFS) at different scales to integrate frequency knowledge. DFS utilizes learnable filters to generate high and low-frequency information and employs a frequency cross-attention mechanism (FCAM) to determine the most information to recover. To learn a multi-scale and accurate set of hybrid features, we develop a skip feature fusion block (SFF) that leverages contextual features to discriminatively determine which information should be propagated in skip-connections. It is worth noting that our DFS and SFF are generic plug-in modules that can be directly employed in existing networks without any adjustments, leading to performance improvements. Stereo image super-resolution (stereoSR) aims to enhance the quality of super-resolution results by incorporating complementary information from an alternative view. Although current methods have shown significant advancements, they typically operate on representations at full resolution to preserve spatial details, facing challenges in accurately capturing contextual information. Simultaneously, they utilize all feature similarities to cross-fuse information from the two views, potentially disregarding the impact of irrelevant information. To overcome this problem, we propose a mixed-scale selective fusion network (MSSFNet) to preserve precise spatial details and incorporate abundant contextual information, and adaptively select and fuse most accurate features from two views to enhance the promotion of high-quality stereoSR. Specifically, we develop a mixed-scale block (MSB) that obtains contextually enriched feature representations across multiple spatial scales while preserving precise spatial details. Furthermore, to dynamically retain the most essential cross-view information, we design a selective fusion attention module (SFAM) that searches and transfers the most accurate features from another view. To learn an enriched set of local and non-local features, we introduce a fast fourier convolution block (FFCB) to explicitly integrate frequency domain knowledge. Extensive experiments show that MSSFNet achieves significant improvements over state-of-the-art approaches on both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.

Image restoration is a challenging ill-posed problem which estimates latent sharp image from its degraded counterpart. Although the existing methods have achieved promising performance by designing novelty architecture of module, they ignore the fact that different regions in a corrupted image undergo varying degrees of degradation. In this paper, we propose an efficient and effective framework to adapt to varying degrees of degradation across different regions for image restoration. Specifically, we design a spatial and frequency attention mechanism (SFAM) to emphasize crucial features for restoration. SFAM consists of two modules: the spatial domain attention module (SDAM) and the frequency domain attention module (FDAM). The SFAM discerns the degradation location through spatial selective attention and channel selective attention in the spatial domain, while the FDAM enhances high-frequency signals to amplify the disparities between sharp and degraded image pairs in the spectral domain. Additionally, to capture global range information, we introduce a multi-scale block (MSBlock) that consists of three scale branches, each containing multiple simplified channel attention blocks (SCABlocks) and a multi-scale feed-forward block (MSFBlock). Finally, we propose our ECFNet, which integrates the aforementioned components into a U-shaped backbone for recovering high-quality images. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of ECFNet, outperforming state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods on both synthetic and real-world datasets.

Image deblurring aims to restore a high-quality image from its corresponding blurred. The emergence of CNNs and Transformers has enabled significant progress. However, these methods often face the dilemma between eliminating long-range degradation perturbations and maintaining computational efficiency. While the selective state space model (SSM) shows promise in modeling long-range dependencies with linear complexity, it also encounters challenges such as local pixel forgetting and channel redundancy. To address this issue, we propose an efficient image deblurring network that leverages selective state spaces model to aggregate enriched and accurate features. Specifically, we introduce an aggregate local and global information block (ALGBlock) designed to effectively capture and integrate both local invariant properties and non-local information. The ALGBlock comprises two primary modules: a module for capturing local and global features (CLGF), and a feature aggregation module (FA). The CLGF module is composed of two branches: the global branch captures long-range dependency features via a selective state spaces model, while the local branch employs simplified channel attention to model local connectivity, thereby reducing local pixel forgetting and channel redundancy. In addition, we design a FA module to accentuate the local part by recalibrating the weight during the aggregation of the two branches for restoration. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches on widely used benchmarks.

Image restoration aims to recover the high-quality images from their degraded observations. Since most existing methods have been dedicated into single degradation removal, they may not yield optimal results on other types of degradations, which do not satisfy the applications in real world scenarios. In this paper, we propose a novel data ingredient-oriented approach that leverages prompt-based learning to enable a single model to efficiently tackle multiple image degradation tasks. Specifically, we utilize a encoder to capture features and introduce prompts with degradation-specific information to guide the decoder in adaptively recovering images affected by various degradations. In order to model the local invariant properties and non-local information for high-quality image restoration, we combined CNNs operations and Transformers. Simultaneously, we made several key designs in the Transformer blocks (multi-head rearranged attention with prompts and simple-gate feed-forward network) to reduce computational requirements and selectively determines what information should be persevered to facilitate efficient recovery of potentially sharp images. Furthermore, we incorporate a feature fusion mechanism further explores the multi-scale information to improve the aggregated features. The resulting tightly interlinked hierarchy architecture, named as CAPTNet, extensive experiments demonstrate that our method performs competitively to the state-of-the-art., Comment: IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (2024)

Image restoration is the task of aiming to obtain a high-quality image from a corrupt input image, such as deblurring and deraining. In image restoration, it is typically necessary to maintain a complex balance between spatial details and contextual information. Although a multi-stage network can optimally balance these competing goals and achieve significant performance, this also increases the system's complexity. In this paper, we propose a mountain-shaped single-stage design base on a simple U-Net architecture, which removes or replaces unnecessary nonlinear activation functions to achieve the above balance with low system complexity. Specifically, we propose a feature fusion middleware (FFM) mechanism as an information exchange component between the encoder-decoder architectural levels. It seamlessly integrates upper-layer information into the adjacent lower layer, sequentially down to the lowest layer. Finally, all information is fused into the original image resolution manipulation level. This preserves spatial details and integrates contextual information, ensuring high-quality image restoration. In addition, we propose a multi-head attention middle block (MHAMB) as a bridge between the encoder and decoder to capture more global information and surpass the limitations of the receptive field of CNNs. Spacecraft pose estimation plays a vital role in many on-orbit space missions, such as rendezvous and docking, debris removal, and on-orbit maintenance. At present, space images contain widely varying lighting conditions, high contrast and low resolution, pose estimation of space objects is more challenging than that of objects on earth. In this paper, we analyzing the radar image characteristics of spacecraft on-orbit, then propose a new deep learning neural Network structure named Dense Residual U-shaped Network (DR-U-Net) to extract image features. We further introduce a novel neural network based on DR-U-Net, namely Spacecraft U-shaped Network (SU-Net) to achieve end-to-end pose estimation for non-cooperative spacecraft. Specifically, the SU-Net first preprocess the image of non-cooperative spacecraft, then transfer learning was used for pre-training. Subsequently, in order to solve the problem of radar image blur and low ability of spacecraft contour recognition, we add residual connection and dense connection to the backbone network U-Net, and we named it DR-U-Net. In this way, the feature loss and the complexity of the model is reduced, and the degradation of deep neural network during training is avoided. Finally, a layer of feedforward neural network is used for pose estimation of non-cooperative spacecraft on-orbit. Experiments prove that the proposed method does not rely on the hand-made object specific features, and the model has robust robustness, and the calculation accuracy outperforms the state-of-the-art pose estimation methods. Uncontrolled spacecraft will disintegrate and generate a large amount of debris in the reentry process, and ablative debris may cause potential risks to the safety of human life and property on the ground. Therefore, predicting the landing points of spacecraft debris and forecasting the degree of risk of debris to human life and property is very important. In view that it is difficult to predict the process of reentry process and the reentry point in advance, and the debris generated from reentry disintegration may cause ground damage for the uncontrolled space vehicle on expiration of service. In this paper, we adopt the object-oriented approach to consider the spacecraft and its disintegrated components as consisting of simple basic geometric models, and introduce three machine learning models: the support vector regression (SVR), decision tree regression (DTR) and multilayer perceptron (MLP) to predict the velocity, longitude and latitude of spacecraft debris landing points for the first time. Then, we compare the prediction accuracy of the three models. Furthermore, we define the reentry risk and the degree of danger, and we calculate the risk level for each spacecraft debris and make warnings accordingly. The experimental results show that the proposed method can obtain high accuracy prediction results in at least 15 seconds and make safety level warning more real-time.

Image restoration is a long-standing low-level vision problem, e.g., deblurring and deraining. In the process of image restoration, it is necessary to consider not only the spatial details and contextual information of restoration to ensure the quality, but also the system complexity. Although many methods have been able to guarantee the quality of image restoration, the system complexity of the state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods is increasing as well. Motivated by this, we present a mixed hierarchy network that can balance these competing goals. Our main proposal is a mixed hierarchy architecture, that progressively recovers contextual information and spatial details from degraded images while we design intra-blocks to reduce system complexity. Specifically, our model first learns the contextual information using encoder-decoder architectures, and then combines them with high-resolution branches that preserve spatial detail. In order to reduce the system complexity of this architecture for convenient analysis and comparison, we replace or remove the nonlinear activation function with multiplication and use a simple network structure. In addition, we replace spatial convolution with global self-attention for the middle block of encoder-decoder. The resulting tightly interlinked hierarchy architecture, named as MHNet, delivers strong performance gains on several image restoration tasks, including image deraining, and deblurring.

Natural language question-answering over RDF data has received widespread attention. Although there have been several studies that have dealt with a small number of aggregate queries, they have many restrictions (i.e., interactive information, controlled question or query template). Thus far, there has been no natural language querying mechanism that can process general aggregate queries over RDF data. Therefore, we propose a framework called NLAQ (Natural Language Aggregate Query). First, we propose a novel algorithm to automatically understand a users query intention, which mainly contains semantic relations and aggregations. Second, to build a better bridge between the query intention and RDF data, we propose an extended paraphrase dictionary ED to obtain more candidate mappings for semantic relations, and we introduce a predicate-type adjacent set PT to filter out inappropriate candidate mapping combinations in semantic relations and basic graph patterns. Third, we design a suitable translation plan for each aggregate category and effectively distinguish whether an aggregate item is numeric or not, which will greatly affect the aggregate result. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments over real datasets (QALD benchmark and DBpedia), and the experimental results demonstrate that our solution is effective.
