Under the background of big data development, more intelligent technologies make work and life convenient, and the traditional English-US literature translation methods and means are difficult to adapt to the fast-paced era of big data, so this paper conducts research and analysis on this problem. In terms of the English-Chinese translation strategy based on BERT and multi-similarity fusion of English and American literature, the article first introduces the concept and principle of BERT, and multi-similarity fusion algorithm then constructs the model of BERT and multi-similarity algorithm fusion, analyzes and discusses the English and American literature translation dataset respectively, and compares it with three different similarity algorithms in terms of three indicators. The data shows that BERT has the greatest effect on the accuracy rate, followed by BLEU value and Manhattan distance. Compared with the fusion of the three methods, the data analysis of a single method is better, and the three selected index values all remain above 90%, and this study is conducive to improving the accuracy and efficiency of English and American literature work, which is of great historical significance for international literary communication.

Tropical lotus (Nelumbo) is an important and unique ecological type of lotus germplasm. Understanding the genetic relationship and diversity of the tropical lotus is necessary for its sustainable conservation and utilization. Using 42 EST-SSR (expressed sequence tag-simple sequence repeats) and 30 SRAP (sequence-related amplified polymorphism) markers, we assessed the genetic diversity and inferred the ancestry of representative tropical lotus from Thailand and Vietnam. In total, 164 and 41 polymorphic bands were detected in 69 accessions by 36 EST-SSR and seven SRAP makers, respectively. Higher genetic diversity was revealed in Thai lotus than in Vietnamese lotus. A Neighbor-Joining tree of five main clusters was constructed using combined EST-SSR and SRAP markers. Cluster I included 17 accessions of Thai lotus; cluster II contained three Thai accessions and 11 accessions from southern Vietnam; and cluster III was constituted by 13 accessions of seed lotus. Consistent with the results from the Neighbor-Joining tree, the genetic structure analysis showed that the genetic background of most Thai and Vietnamese lotus was pure, as artificial breeding has been rare in both countries. Furthermore, these analyses indicate that Thai and Vietnamese lotus germplasms belong to two different gene pools or populations. Most lotus accessions are genetically related to geographical distribution patterns in Thailand or Vietnam. Our findings showed that the origin or genetic relationships of some unidentified lotus sources can be evaluated by comparing morphological characteristics and the data of molecular markers. In addition, these findings provide reliable information for the targeted conservation of tropical lotus and parent selection in breeding novel cultivars of lotus.

The previously reported begonias in a limestone forest of Guangxi mainly belong to Begonia sect. Coelocentrum Irmscher. In this article, we described and illustrated a new species in sect. Platycentrum (Klotzsch) A.DC., Begonia parvibracteata X.X.Feng, R.K.Li & Z.X.Liu, which was discovered in a karst forest of south-western Guangxi. The begonia shows high morphological similarity to B. subhowii S.H. Huang and B. psilophylla Irmscher, but differs from the latter two in its narrower oblique-ovate asymmetric leaf blade, 4 (occasionally 6) tepals of pistillate flower and smaller membranous inflorescence bracts. Molecular phylogenetic analysis, based on ITS sequence data, supports the new species as monophyletic and distinct from B. subhowii and B. psilophylla. Considering its narrow distribution and the disturbance of human activities, the conservation status of new taxon is evaluated as “Vulnerable” (VU B1, B2 ab (i, iv, v), D2) according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

IntroductionBegonia L., one of the 10 largest plant genera, contains over 2,100 species, most of which have a very limited distribution range. Understanding the spatial genetic structure and distribution dynamics of a widespread species in this genus will contribute to clarifying the mechanism responsible for Begonia speciation.MethodsIn this study, we used three chloroplast DNA markers (ndhF-rpl32, atpI-atpH, and ndhA intron), coupled with species distribution modeling (SDM), to investigate the population genetic structure and distribution dynamics of Begonia grandis Dryand., the species of Begonia with the widest distribution in China.ResultsThirty-five haplotypes from 44 populations clustered into two groups, and haplotype divergence began in the Pleistocene (1.75 Mya). High genetic diversity (Hd = 0.894, HT = 0.910), strong genetic differentiation (FST = 0.835), and significant phylogeographical structure (GST/NST = 0.848/0.917, P < 0.05) were observed. The distribution range of B. grandis migrated northwards after the last glacial maximum, but its core distribution area remained stable.DiscussionCombined, the observed spatial genetic patterns and SDM results identified the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the Three Gorges region, and the Daba Mountains as potential refugia of B. grandis. BEAST-derived chronogram and haplotype network analysis do not support the Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae and Flora of China for subspecies classification based on morphological characteristics. Our results support the hypothesis that population-level allopatric differentiation may be an important speciation process for the Begonia genus and a key contributor to its rich diversity.

Purpose: Demonstrate the potential of spatiotemporal encoding (SPEN) MRI to deliver largely undistorted 2D, 3D, and diffusion weighted images on a 110 mT portable system. Methods: SPEN's quadratic phase modulation was used to subsample the low‐bandwidth dimension of echo planar acquisitions, delivering alias‐free images with an enhanced immunity to image distortions in a laboratory‐built, low‐field, portable MRI system lacking multiple receivers. Results: Healthy brain images with different SPEN time‐bandwidth products and subsampling factors were collected. These compared favorably to EPI acquisitions including topup corrections. Robust 3D and diffusion weighted SPEN images of diagnostic value were demonstrated, with 2.5 mm isotropic resolutions achieved in 3 min scans. This performance took advantage of the low specific absorption rate and relative long TEs associated with low‐field MRI. Conclusion: SPEN MRI provides a robust and advantageous fast acquisition approach to obtain faithful 3D images and DWI data in low‐cost, portable, low‐field systems without parallel acceleration. Influenced by increasing global extreme weather and the uneven spatiotemporal distribution of water resources in monsoon climate areas, the balance of agricultural water resources supply and demand currently faces significant challenges. Conducting research on the spatial allocation trade-offs and synergistic mechanisms of agricultural water resources in monsoon climate areas is extremely important. This study takes the spatial layout of reservoir site selection in water conservancy projects as an example, focusing on Shandong Province as the research area. During the site selection process, the concept of water resource demand is introduced, and the suitability of reservoir siting is integrated. It clarifies ten influencing factors for suitability degree and five influencing factors for demand. A bi-objective optimization model that includes suitability degree and demand degree is established. Utilizing machine learning methods such as the GA_BP neural network model and the GA-bi-objective optimization model to balance and coordinate the supply and demand relationship of agricultural water resources in the monsoon region. The study found that: (1) in the prediction of suitability degree, the influencing factors are most strongly correlated with the regulatory storage capacity (regulatory storage capacity > total storage capacity > regulating storage coefficient); (2) compared with single-objective optimization of suitability degree, the difference between water supply and demand can be reduced by 74.3% after bi-objective optimization; (3) according to the spatial layout optimization analysis, the utilization of water resources in the central and western parts of Shandong Province is not sufficient, and the construction of agricultural reservoirs should be carried out in a targeted manner. This study provides new ideas for promoting the efficient use of water resources in monsoon climate zones and the coordinated development of humans and nature, reflecting the importance of supply and demand balance in the spatial allocation of agricultural water resources, reducing the risk of agricultural production being affected by droughts and floods. Glaesserella parasuis cytolethal distending toxin (GpCDT) can induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Our laboratory's previous work demonstrated that GTPase 4b (Rab4b) is a key host protein implicated in GpCDT-induced cytotoxicity. This study investigated the probable involvement of Rab4b in the process. Our study used CRISPR/Cas9 technology to create a Rab4b-knockout cell line. The results showed greater resistance to GpCDT-induced cell cytotoxicity. In contrast, forced Rab4b overexpression increased GpCDT-induced cytotoxicity. Further immunoprecipitation study reveals that GpCDT may bind with Rab4b. In PK-15 cells, GpCDT is transported to the early endosomes and late endosomes, while after knocking out Rab4b, GpCDT cannot be transported to the early endosome via vesicles. Rab4b appears essential for GpCDT-induced cytotoxicity in PK-15 cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Begonia giganticaulis, a huge new species in Begonia sect. Platycentrum of Begoniaceae from southern Xizang (Tibet) of China, is described. Morphologically, it is mostly similar to B. longifolia and B. acetosella, but clearly differs from the former mainly by its dioecious and taller plants, sparse hairs on abaxial veins, longer inflorescence, unique shape of fruits, and differs from the latter mainly by its late and longer flowering time, 6-tepals of female flower and 3-loculed ovary. The phylogenetic analyses also support the separation of the new species from other taxa. Based on the current data, its conservation status is assigned to Endangered (B2a) according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

Begonia pseudoedulis, a new species in Begonia sect. Platycentrum (Klotzsch) A.DC. (Begoniaceae) from southern Guangxi of China, is here described and illustrated. It morphologically resembles B. edulis H.Lév. and B. dielsiana E.Pritz. ex Diels but differs easily by its hairy petioles and inflorescences, and red hispidulous flower tepals, ovary and capsules. The molecular phylogenetic analysis based on ITS supported that the new species was a monophyletic lineage, separating from both B. dielsiana and B. edulis. Due to its isolated distribution with several small populations, which are possibly disturbed by human activities, the species is considered as “Near Threatened” (NT) according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.
