When a ball on a pool table moves to hit another ball, people feel the causal impression between the two balls: The first ball causes the second ball's motion, which is known as the launching effect. Previous research has shown that the causal impression becomes stronger when the two balls have a similar direction of movement. Here, we tested whether this good continuation influenced perception of the contact time between the causal object and the effect object. A variant of Michotte's visual collision event was used as a stimulus, consisting of two competing cause objects and one effect object. In the display, the two cause objects on the left begin to move and contact the effect object in the center, causing it to move. In Experiments 1 to 4, the contact order of the cause objects and the motion direction of the effect object were systematically varied. The observers were asked to judge which of the cause objects had a more causal relationship and made contact first. The results showed that the observers were more likely to judge a cause object as having a more causal relationship with the effect object when there was good continuation, and they often erroneously judged the cause object as having first contacted the effect object; this effect was maintained with up to approximately 100 ms of delay after contact. These results suggest that good continuation is an important cue that postdictively determines perception of the contact time of a cause object in a short time window.

Detection performance of the smoke in the outdoor depends on weather conditions, the shadow by the movement of the sun, or illumination changes, etc. In this paper, a smoke detection system in conjunction with a robust background estimate algorithm to environment change in the outdoor in daytime is proposed. Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is applied as background estimation algorithm, and also, Adaboost algorithm is applied to detect the smoke for candidate region. Through the experiments with input videos obtained from a various weather conditions at the same actual road, the proposed algorithms were useful to detect smoke in the outdoor. Index Terms—GMM, adaboost, smoke detection, outdoor environments.

In this paper, we propose a method to infer the user’s behavior and situation through collected data from multi-sensor equipped with a smart clothing and it was implemented as a smartphone App. User context reasoning and behavior determine is very difficult using single sensor depending on the measured value of the sensor varies from environmental noise. So, the reasoning and the digital filter algorithms to determine user behavior reducing noise and are required. In this paper, we used EWMA, Kalman Filter and SVM processing behavior for 3-axis value as a representative value of one. In this research, we designed the various movements on the screen based on a touch pad of a smart TV. Due to the increment of smart TV, diverse interfaces are applied on the screen and movement is the crucial part of the interfaces. However, the screen is comprised of pattern as a button; the availability of new interface is less effected for users. Therefore, it is necessary to research new screen composition to escape the existing one. Smart TV's screen layout suggests new directional properties such as moving the position where we want with simple gesture. Moreover, we found the fact in this research that less change from movement of many objects is showed compared with existing movement. Based on the result of this research, it is possible to show the motion of various effects and two-dimensional movement better than existing one-dimensional movement.

In this paper we present a serious game design for HTML5 multi cross-platform environment. Previously existing application were restricted to their specific platforms and users could not enjoy them elsewhere (Smart phones, pc, Smart TV). In this paper we take advantage of the HTML5 multi cross-platform and make use of Smart TV technology in order to bring a new type of content to the big screen where more than one person can be involved, learn and enjoy.

In this paper, a new de-allocation scheme which the de-allocation channels can be used by both voice calls and packet calls is proposed. To research the possible neglect effect on voice calls for the de-allocated channels can be allocated to the new packets, a threshold of a new packet call can obtain a de-allocation channel or not is proposed and studied. The simulation results show that the new scheme can achieve excellent performance and it is really necessary to let the new packets use the de-allocated channels, when the threshold thetas=2/3 of our scheme in this paper, the blocking probability of voice calls and the mean packet transmission time have nearly no degradation, while the blocking probability of packet calls is decreased evidently and the mean channel utilization is improved significantly.
