A new organic–inorganic hybrid, namely [Ni2(en)4(C2H3NO2)(H2O)][Ni(en)3][Ni(en)2][P2W18O62]·6H2O (1, en = 1,2-ethylenediamine), was synthesized hydrothermally by mixing the ligands of 1,2-ethylenediamine and glycine. Notably, compound 1 exhibits the first example of coordination polymer derived from the Wells–Dawson polyoxoanions and di-nuclear nickel(II)-glycine cations. As a result, an intriguing 3D supramolecular architecture was fabricated with the [P2W18O62]6− fragments and the nickel counter-cations via hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, the compound with this unique structure exhibited outstanding electrocatalytic properties in terms of the reduction of iodate and nitrite. This work brings a new inspiration for the design and synthesis of new hybrids with functional behaviors towards various fields of catalysis.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF), a progressive and life-threatening pulmonary disease, is the main pathological basis of interstitial lung disease (ILD) which includes the idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). No effective therapeutic strategy for pulmonary fibrosis has been established. TGF-β signaling has emerged as the vital regulator of PF; however, the detailed molecular mechanisms of TGF-β in PF were uncertain. In the present study, we proved that inhibition of MTORC2 suppresses the expression of P27 in MRC5 and HLF cells. And in bleomycin-induced PF model, the expression of α-SMA and P27 was upregulated. Moreover, TGF-β application increased the level of α-SMA, vimentin, and P27 in MRC5 and HLF cells. Furthermore, P27 overexpression advanced the cell cycle process and promoted the proliferation of MRC5 and HLF cells. Finally, the rescue experiment showed that MTORC2 knockdown reversed P27 overexpression-induced cell cycle acceleration and proliferation. Thus, our results suggest that P27 is involved in TGF-β-mediated PF, which was regulated by MTORC2, providing a novel insight into the development of PF.

Background Recently, multiple poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors have demonstrated excellent efficacy among patients with ovarian cancer with or without BRCA mutations. However, alternative therapeutic options are urgently required for patients who cannot benefit from conventional chemotherapy or PARP inhibitors. Case Presentation A patient with high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma presented to our clinic after developing resistance to chemotherapy. Paired tumor-normal next-generation sequencing (NGS) was performed using peripheral blood to identify potential actionable mutations. NGS revealed the patient harboring a GOPC-ROS1 fusion, which was subsequently verified using a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assay. No germline or somatic mutation in BRCA1/2 or mismatch repair genes was detected. Therefore, the patient received crizotinib treatment. A rapid, favorable clinical response (partial response at 1 month) was observed, with further pathological response monitored and evaluated in follow-up interrogation. Conclusion This study suggested that crizotinib was an off-the-shelf, practical, and ostensibly effective treatment option for patients with ovarian cancer with ROS1 rearrangement. NGS-based genetic testing may guide to plan therapeutic paradigms, and render precision medicine promising in ovarian cancer treatment. Implications for Practice Despite the previous report of ROS1 fusion in patients with ovarian cancer, it remains unknown whether patients can benefit from targeted therapeutic drugs. This study reports a GOPC-ROS1 fusion identified by next-generation sequencing in a patient with chemotherapy-resistant ovarian cancer. The patient was administered crizotinib and showed rapid, remarkable response. This study suggests that comprehensive sequencing should be offered for patients with ovarian cancer without effective therapeutic strategies, and crizotinib can be used to treat ROS1-rearranged ovarian carcinomas.

Three new organic–inorganic hybrid di‑copper-complex substituted monovacant polyoxotungstates, [{Cu I 3 (phen)} 3 Cl 2 ]{[Cu II (phen) 2 ][Cu II 2 (phen)]} 2 ( α -PW 11 O 39 ) ( 1 ), Na[Cu II 2 (bpy) 2 (OH) 2 ][Cu II 2 (bpy) 2 (H 2 O)( α -PW 11 O 39 )]·3H 2 O ( 2 ) and [Cu II (bpy)(H 2 O)][Cu II 2 (bpy) 2 (H 2 O)( α -HPW 11 O 39 )]·H 2 O ( 3 ) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), have been made under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, XRD, thermogravimetric (TG) analyses and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The compounds 1 – 3 are isostructural and all containing di‑copper-complex substituted monovacant phosphotungstate subunits as well as different pendant copper cations. Compound 1 represents the first discrete di‑copper-phen complex substituted monovacant Keggin polyoxotungstate. For compound 2 , it can be regarded as a dimmer of two di‑copper-bpy substituted {[Cu II 2 (bpy) 2 (OH)][Cu II 2 (bpy) 2 (H 2 O)( α -PW 11 O 39 )]} clusters that were connected by two μ-OH groups. Compound 3 is the rare di‑copper-bpy substituted monovacant Keggin phosphotungstate with 1D dual-bridging chain structure. Furthermore, the variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility of 1 has been investigated in detail.

Two new organic-inorganic hybrid copper-substituted supramolecular polyoxotungstates, namely H[Cu(en)2(H2O)]2[Cu(en)2][P2W18O62]Cl·7H2O (1) and H3[Cu(en)2(H2O)]2[Cu(en)2]1.5[CuP2W17O62]·39H2O (2) (en = 1,2-ethylenediamine), have been prepared via a simple one-pot hydrothermal synthesis method and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, XRD, thermogravimetric (TG) analyses and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. X-ray structural analysis reveals that both of them are containing Wells-Dawson polyoxoanions and copper-en cations. With the rare connection modes of W O Cu and W O W linkers, compound 1 further displays an organic-inorganic hybrid 1D ladder-like mono-chain whereas 2 is in a stable configuration of an interesting double-chain. Subsequently, the intriguing 2D double-layer for 1 and 3D supramolecular architecture for 2 were fabricated through hydrogen bonding among the [P2W18O62]6− fragments and the copper counter-cations, respectively. It is worthy to note that the connection modes and the packing networks of the title hybrid complexes are rare. In addition, the photodegradation properties of the title complexes for methylene blue under UV irradiation have been investigated in detail. This work guides us to design and synthesize more attractive hybrid materials for extensively potential applications.

The application of high-dose irradiation to centrally-located lung tumors is generally considered to be of high risk in causing bronchial injury. The aim of the present retrospective study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for patients with centrally-located lung tumors. In total, 28 patients who underwent SBRT for lung tumors within 2 cm of a major bronchus were retrospectively analyzed. The median total dose prescribed was 45 Gy (range, 36.3–52.5 Gy), the median fraction was 12 (range, 10–15) and the median dose per fraction was 3.6 Gy (range, 3–5 Gy). The median follow-up period for the surviving patients was 14 months (range, 10–41 months). The local control rate of SBRT was 100%, with a complete response (CR) rate of 32.1% (9/28); a partial response (PR) rate of 50% (14/28) and a stable disease (SD) rate of 17.9% (5/28). In total, 15 patients survived and 13 patients succumbed; 11 patients succumbed to tumor progression, one to congestive heart failure and one to a brain hemorrhage. The main side-effects included grade 2 esophagitis (17.9%; 5/28) atelectasis (10.7%; 3/28) and grade 2 late radiation pneumonitis (7.1%; 2/28). Severe late toxicity (≥ grade 3) was not observed in any patient. SBRT is an effective and safe therapy for centrally-located lung tumors.

The ultra-high-strength steel (UHSS) plays an important role in the mechanical industry because of their special performances. The machinability of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel was studied in dry milling with two different coated tools in the present work. This paper introduced that 30CrMnSiNi2A steel was a kind of difficult-to-machine materials. The results showed that the cutting force components of feed direction and cutting width direction, i.e. Fx and Fy, increased slightly with increasing the cutting speed and feed rate. The values of axial force component Fz were much larger than Fx and Fy, and increased obviously with increasing the milling speed. The workpiece surface had the minimum roughness at the cutting speed of 150 m/min. The physical vapor deposition (PVD) coated ((Ti, Al)N-TiN) insert was more suitable for machining 30CrMnSiNi2A steel than the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) coated (Ti(C, N)-Al2O3) insert. Moreover, the main failure modes of PVD-coated insert were micro-chipping and coating spalling. The wear modes of CVD-coated insert were ploughing, coating spalling, and cratering. The serious adhesive wear and the abrasion with some adhesion were the main wear mechanism of PVD- and CVD-coated inserts, respectively.

A fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method for nuclear power plants is introduced in this article. First, a risk index system is established of which these indicators will be explained accordingly latter. Then, an evaluation set is constructed, and the weight of each index and corresponding membership is determined according to suggestions of experts and membership function to make evaluation level by level ，until a final comprehensive evaluation is obtained. This method is not very objective but simple and available.
