Abstract

The expression of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) was up-regulated and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) was significantly increased in colon cancer patients. As the main prostaglandin produced by COX-2, PGE2 plays an important role in angiogenesis, survival, invasion and migration of colon cancer cells. The EP4 receptor, as an important transporter of PGE2 signaling, increases the survival and development of colon cancer cells through various mechanisms of overexpression. Signal pathway starting from COX-2, continuing with PGE2 and ending with EP4 can promote the spread and growth of colon cancer. Therefore, targeting the COX-2/PGE2/EP4 axis may be a valuable treatment method for colon cancer. This article outlines the biological activity of COX-2, the mechanism of action of COX-2/PGE2/EP4 as a signal axis in colon cancer, and the research progress of targeted drugs in colon cancer prevention.

Abstract

Thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN), also known as lithium niobate on insulator, is an important integrated optical platform due to its broad transparency window (from ultraviolet to mid-infrared) and exceptional nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. TFLN is a revolutionary technology that revitalizes micro/nano photonics based on LN, which holds prime importance in on-chip frequency conversion owing to its remarkable NLO properties. This review focuses on the optical nonlinearity of thin film lithium niobate and its applications in integrated optics. We commence with a brief overview of the TFLN platform. Followed by an introduction to the common device structures. We then present the recent advancements of TFLN in NLO frequency conversion, including χ (2) based optical frequency generation processes (second harmonic generation, sum frequency generation, and difference frequency generation, etc), frequency comb generation, and supercontinuum generation, etc. Finally, we propose future prospects for nonlinear photonic integrated circuits based on the TFLN platform. 27. Photothermionic Effect-Assisted Ultrafast Charge Transfer in NbS2/MoS2Heterostructure

Abstract

Two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals heterostructures (vdW HSs) composed of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have emerged as frontrunners in the optoelectronics field, owing to their exceptional optical and electrical properties. Recent research on the intrinsic interlayer charge transfer mechanism has been primarily focused on the Type II HSs, while metal–semiconductor (MS) vertical HSs, promising for advancing photodetector technology, have received comparatively less attention. Here, we reveal the first experimental observation of photothermionic effect-assisted ultrafast interlayer charge transfer in the NbS2/MoS2heterostructure using femtosecond transient absorption technology and first-principles calculations, effectively ignoring the Schottky barrier height. We demonstrate that within 500 fs, charge transfer occurs from NbS2to MoS2in the heterostructure, resulting in supplementary carrier generation in the visible spectrum when excited with infrared light below the MoS2bandgap, at wavelengths of 1030 and 1500 nm. Such promising characteristics of 2D NbS2-semiconductor heterostructures offer a potential platform for synergistically combining low contact resistance with broadband photocarrier generation, marking a significant advancement in optoelectronics and light harvesting.

Abstract

Witnessing intimate partner violence (IPV) could have long-term negative impacts on children. Such exposure is, however, often overlooked by professionals. We developed a VR scenario which allowed participants to witness IPV from a child’s perspective. In this pilot study, we found that they made more child protective decisions and showed higher levels of empathy towards the child after VR exposure. When comparing the impact between the child’s perspective and third-person perspective, no statistically significant differences were found in empathy and decision-making, even though those with the child’s perspective had significantly higher levels of presence.

34. An Improved Ant Colony Algorithm for New energy Industry Resource Allocation in Cloud Environment

Abstract

The new energy industry development is affected by many factors. Among them, the resources utilization ratio is a major reason for the low productivity of enterprises. As the core problem of cloud computing, the resource allocation problem has been widely concerned by the people, and the resource allocation problem of the new energy industry as the key to energy innovation and transformation should be more paid attention to. In multi-resource cloud computing scenarios, requests made by users often involve multiple types of resources. Traditional resource allocation algorithms have a single optimization object, typically time efficiency. In order to achieve cluster load balancing, utilization of system resources and improvement of system work efficiency, this paper proposes a new cloud computing allocation algorithm based on improved ant colony algorithm. According to the limit conditions of cloud computing environment and computing resources, this paper finds the shortest response time of all resource nodes and gets a set of best available nodes. This method can meet the quality requirements of cloud computing, and the task completion time of the improved algorithm is shorter, the number of algorithm iterations is less, and the load balancing effect is better. Through MATLAB simulation experiments, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.

Abstract

Oxides accumulated in the inner bend of austenite heating tubes of super critical units may cause overheat and bursting. Traditional methods could not examine oxides blocking ratio. A magnetic field simulation of the boiler tube’s oxide skin blockage model has been set up in this paper. The influence of different wall thickness and different accumulation of oxide on the distribution of magnetic field was analyzed. It was demonstrated that the blockage oxide scale could be quantitatively measured by the amplitude and distribution of magnetic field.
