We have evaluated the agronomic performance of table cassava cultivars fertilized with phosphorus doses in the Brazilian Semiarid Region. Two agricultural crops were grown at the Rafael Fernandes Experimental Farm, Mossoró, RN, from June/2018 to April/2019 and from June/2019 to April/2020. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, arranged in subdivided plots, with four replications. In the plots, doses of phosphorus were applied (0, 60, 120, 180 and 240 kg P2O5 ha-1), and in the subplots, the table cassava cultivars (Água Morna, BRS Gema de Ovo, Recife and Venâncio). The following were evaluated: dry matter of leaf, stem, and commercial root; harvest index; commercial root number; commercial productivity and aerial part productivity. The cultivars used had high root and aerial part productivities indicating that their irrigated cultivation is appropriate under the conditions of the Semiarid region of Rio Grande do Norte. The cultivars Água Morna, BRS Gema de Ovo and Recife are more efficient in the use of phosphorus, obtaining high productivity even in the absence of phosphate fertilization. The cultivar Venâncio is more responsive to phosphate fertilization, as it needs an input of this nutrient to increase its productivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Potassium (K) participates in critical processes in sunflower cultivation, such as osmotic regulation and translocation of photosynthesis. However, the absorption or accumulation of this nutrient occurs differently owing to edaphoclimatic factors or between cultivars. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional efficiency of sunflower cultivars as a function of different dosage K dosages in a semiarid region. To this end, two experiments were conducted in 2016 and 2017. The treatments consisted of five dosages of K at 0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 kg ha-1 K2O and four sunflower cultivars, Aguará 6, Altis 99, Multissol, and BRS 122. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replications and subdivided plots. The characteristics evaluated were agronomic efficiency, physiological efficiency, recovery efficiency, utilization efficiency, and accumulation of total K in the plant. Sunflower cultivars responded to K dosages in the two crops, with variations in efficiency parameters. Crop 2 showed better nutritional efficiency compared to crop 1. Aguará 6 showed greater nutritional efficiency than the other two crops. The use of dosages between 75 and 91 kg ha-1 of K2O provided better efficiency in K usage for the cultivars. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the influence of the genotype–environment interaction on genetically divergent soybean grown under semiarid conditions. Four experiments were carried out in randomized blocks with four replicates to evaluate twenty-one soybean genotypes. The following descriptors were used to quantify divergence: plant height, dry matter, oil content, number of pods per plant, number of grains per pod, the weight of 100 seeds, yield, days for flowering, and days for maturation. The unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean was used to group the genotypes from the Mahalanobis distance matrix estimated using the genotypic means estimated by the REML/BLUP method. The grouping of genotypes depended mainly on the effects of the interaction between genotypes and years. The joint analysis, without the effect of the interaction, allowed us to obtain two groups of genotypes. The most recommended crosses were those of the lines BRS Tracajá, BRS Pérola, BRS Carnaúba, M 8644 IPRO, BRS 8590, and BMX OPUS IPRO with the genotype BRS Sambaíba, especially the one between BMX OPUS IPRO and BRS Sambaíba.
