This article argues that counter-hegemony, which is at the heart of sports activism, is not just an action but also the construction of alternative institutional structures. For this purpose, it investigates the practices of an amateur football club and discusses the structural problems of the Turkish amateur football league. The data, collected during a 6-month field study, were interpreted from a critical perspective, using a dialectical dialogue method to apply the theory of hegemony in sports by applying Antonio Gramsci's concept of the "organic intellectual." Consequently, this sports club has provided socialization and free football training for children while creating an alternative football culture with local characteristics that are opposed to class and gender inequalities and to homophobic attitudes common in sport. The article examines certain problems of legal regulation of security activities. It was established that scientists do not pay enough attention to the problems of legal regulation of security activities under martial law conditions. The purpose of the research is to establish separate problems of legal regulation of security activities in the conditions of martial law and to formulate a proposal for its solution. To realize the aim of the article, certain scientific methods are used: dogmatic one - to analyze normative legal acts in the sphere of security activities; dialectical method allows to carry out a study of the sphere of legal regulation of security activities in Ukraine through the prism of its interdisciplinary nature; the deductive method makes it possible to draw final conclusions; the induction method is used when generalizing the problems of the practical activities of security personnel; analysis and synthesis make it possible to break down the indicated problems of security activity into components and propose directions for its solution. The study claims that security activities in Ukraine are carried out in extremely difficult military conditions, which negatively affect the subjects of security activities. It is established that the state has an obligation to respond urgently to such challenges and to eliminate the shortcomings of security activities' legal regulation. It is concluded that the normative definition of the types of security activities (property protection and protection of an individual) allows us to talk about the insufficient legal regulation of other actions that can be assessed as security activities. It is proposed that the Law of Ukraine «On Security Activities» dated March 22, 2012 provide for other types of security activities: provision of information services for the protection of individuals and property of individuals and legal entities; carrying out investigative actions to prevent the negative direct influence of factors (activity or inaction) of an illegal nature on the object of protection»; installation and/or use of security technical means; implementation of technical protection of information at the security facility. It is established that other regulations of the Law of Ukraine «On Security Activities» dated March 22, 2012, which relate to the powers of security personnel during the performance of functional duties, also require changes. It has been concluded that the security personnel's authority to use firearms needs to be reviewed. According to the fact Ukraine sees the process of European integration as one of the main directions of its further development, which is confirmed by the resolution of the European Parliament, according to which Ukraine was granted the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union, the study of the experience of the leading countries of the European Union (hereinafter -- the EU) should become a certain basis in the process of reforming the judiciary, the Institute of Advocacy is a part of which. Modern Ukrainian legislation in the context of remuneration for a lawyer's professional activity has significant shortcomings and contradictions, and with regard to the so-called «success fee», the judicial practice is ambiguous and has already changed several times in previous years. At the same time, the institution of a lawyer's remuneration for his professional activity needs changes and clarifications also in connection with the fact that the main categorical apparatus, which is used in the regulation of issues of this institute, is not coordinated with its European counterparts, and therefore leads to the emergence of legislative collisions in the future during a closer relationship between Ukraine and the EU countries after Ukraine becomes a member of the EU countries. A study of the historical analysis of the emergence and development of the institution of remuneration of a lawyer for his professional activity, as well as methods of calculating the amount and payment of a lawyer's fee, forms and methods, which contributes to a comprehensive study of this institution. At the same time, on the basis of a comparative analysis between the studied institute in Ukraine and Germany, it is advisable to develop ways of improving Ukrainian legislat ion in this field. Special attention is paid to the so-called «success fee» of a lawyer for his professional activity, the issues of application of this type of lawyer's fee both in Ukraine and in Germany are investigated. On the basis of the analysis, those issues that require further regulation at the legislative level in Ukraine and the identification of types of «success fee» have been identified on the example of how this issue is resolved in the EU countries, taking into account the practice of the European Court of Human Rights. Over the past three decades, a great deal of attention has been paid to the study of perisomatic inhibition and perisomatic inhibitory basket cells. A growing body of experimental evidence points to the leading role of perisomatic inhibitory cells in the generation of oscillatory activity in various frequency ranges. Recently the link between the activity of basket cells and complex behavior has been demonstrated in several laboratories. However, all this is true only for one type of perisomatic inhibitory interneuron—parvalbumin-positive basket cells. Nevertheless, where parvalbumin-positive basket cells are found, there is another type of basket cell, cholecystokinin-positive interneurons. These two types of interneurons share a number of common features: they innervate the same compartments of target neurons and they often receive excitation from the same sources, but they also differ from each other in the synchrony of their GABA release and expression of receptors. The functional role of cholecystokinin-positive basket cells in oscillatory activity is not so obvious. They were thought to be involved in theta oscillations, however recent measurements in free moving animals have put some doubts on this hypothesis. Therefore, an important question is, whether these two types of basket cells work synergistically or perform opposing actions in functional networks? In this mini-review, we attempt to answer this question by putting forward the idea that these two types of basket cells are functionally united as two entities of the same network, and their opposing actions are necessary to maintain rhythmogenesis in a "healthy", physiological range. This article examines Proust's fascination with the dress as a site of transmaterial and transhistorical transformation. Descriptions of the Fortuny gown evoke its ability to conjure the visual and tactile qualities of ancient sculpture, architecture, and textile arts. The pleats and folds of the Fortuny become a medium through which the novel explores the dialectic between liquid and frozen temporalities, as well as the interplay between gender, materiality, and the aesthetics of the classical. Drawing on Ruskin, Stokes, Deleuze and others, the essay traces how the Fortuny functions as a complex creative material that transmutes evanescent life into lasting aesthetic impression. This article seeks to explain why spatial policy in England has been so ineffective in recent decades. It offers a novel framework – 'Hyper-Active Incrementalism' – to conceptualise the way that public policy in this area is prone to being short-term, under-evaluated, reactive, fragmented, incremental and top-down. It applies this framework to a historical survey of spatial policy, offering a nuanced understanding of the causes of these pathologies. We argue that Hyper-Active Incrementalism helps explain the persistence of a range of Westminster pathologies, as it drives the ongoing dialectic relationship between over-centralisation and policy failure. The data drawn from our historical survey suggest that Hyper-Active Incrementalism has accelerated overtime, a dynamic of increasing governance fragmentation that contributes to the incoherence of the UK state. This paper provides a roadmap for the application of dialectics to the study of liveness. The roadmap incorporates the utterance chain from relational dialectics theory to describe live performance in terms of the discursive interplay it generates which gives it meaning. As such, this paper addresses a stated need in the literature on liveness for theoretical development and refinement. The paper also positions itself in approaches to liveness that emphasize relational and communicative elements of performance. This article examines the impact of canonisation trials on the promotion of new saints across the Spanish Empire. Focusing on New Spain and Peru, it demonstrates that the physical arrival of copies and summaries of a canonisation trial or hagiographies of a saintly candidate supported by the Spanish crown in Colonial America served as a catalyst for revitalising pre-existing devotions and even inspiring the creation of new ones. By examining the start of the canonisations of Fray Sebastián de Aparicio in Puebla (Mexico) and Toribio of Mogrovejo in Lima (Peru), the work provides an introduction to an often neglected phenomenon: the entanglement between religious, political and cultural forces in the formation of Latin American sainthood, mainly in four ways: causality, opposition, dialecticism and affiliation. International organisations (IOs) have never been more authoritative and potentially agential while simultaneously faced more intense threats to their continued existence. Amid these dialectic conditions, this article identifies a novel type of behaviour: IO Survival Politics. IO Survival Politics occurs when senior institutional actors perceive the organisation to face an existential threat and, in response, employ extraordinary strategies to ensure the organisation's continued existence. Survival Politics thus differs both in degree and kind from the ways in which secretariats exercise influence during conditions of normal policymaking. Two case studies illustrate the concept: (1) the European Commission's response to Brexit and (2) NATO's response to President Trump's withdrawal threats. Drawing on 87 interviews with senior officials, the article shows that IO Survival Politics occurs across a range of diverse IOs in face of diverse threats and can be a crucial factor in determining the fate of IOs in crisis. This article conceptualises the circular economy as a space of immaterial, as well as material, metabolic flows mediated by capitalism and planetary urbanisation. World-ecology provides us with the critical lens to view the circular economy as part of an emergent regime of accumulation that may supersede neoliberalism. However, if each regime entails new frontier zones for appropriating cheap natures and dumping wastes, then the circular economy—as a strategy for revalorising waste—presents a possible structural limit to capitalism's further expansion. Moreover, when combined with notions of degrowth and doughnut economics, the circular economy may provide an imaginary and set of prefigurative practices that point towards a postcapitalist economy. Through a case study of Amsterdam—a city aiming to be fully circular by 2050—we examine this contradictory crossroads, problematising the idea of circularity within capitalism and exploring the potential of postcapitalist alternatives within the circular economy. This study dwells on Alago-Eggon relations within the discursive remit of the dialectics of intergroup relations in Nasarawa State, Central Nigeria. Historicizing the patterns, dynamics, shifts and trajectories of their relations over the years, the study found that the two groups have engaged in diverse forms of mutually beneficial and supportive relationships as close geographical and cultural neighbours. The study revealed that the relationship between the groups witnessed a dramatic setback in the 2010s, following primordial contestations for power by their political elites, which plunged the two groups into inter-communal animosity. The study noted that the relationship between the two groups has been largely tense and hostile since the onset of their communal crises, and that has had significant implications for their peaceful coexistence and social cohesion. Over the past twenty years, research into border externalisation has developed a rich spatial vocabulary to understand these bordering practices as well as critical analyses that challenge the often North-centric views towards externalisation. In this Special Issue, we emphasise that a place-based gaze can lend new mileage to border externalisation research. We emphasise that the place has been under-theorised and under examined in its relation to border externalisation. Existing work often has an implicit framing that understands externalisation as part of a migrant vs. border dialectic, or as part of geopolitical relations between states. By focusing on place, we argue that border externalisation: generates new contexts by connecting previously disparate sites into a border continuum; is place dependent, as its different forms are contingent on situated dynamics; and is place transformative, the border changes the social dynamics of the places where it is implemented. Contemporary studies have already explored al-Risālah magazine's (1933–1953) dynamic role in championing a far-reaching secular-grounded educational mission— which was made more urgent by the encounter with Western innovations. Still, little attention has been paid to the journal's strong linkages with Arabic classical heritage. This article argues that al-Risālah 's writings employed concepts and terminology related to al-balāghah , or eloquence, that were by turns accurate, controversial, and innovative. These uses enriched the spectrum of al-balāghah 's applicability also to the discussion of current preoccupations with other fields like psychology. While accounting for thought-provoking works like Tāhā Ḥusayn's al-Bayān al-ʿarabī min al-Jāḥiẓ ilā ʿAbd al-Qāhir [The Arabic Bayān , from al-Jāḥiẓ to ʿAbd al-Qāhir, 1933,] Amīn al-Khūlī's al-Balāghah wa-ʿilm al-nafs [ al-Balāghah and Psychology, 1939,] and al-Zayyāt's Difāʿun ʿan al-balāghah [In Defense of al-Balāghah , 1945] as pioneering studies towards the new conceptualizations of the discipline up to the mid-half of the twentieth-century, this study purports to trace the presence of al-balāghah in al-Risālah 's articles in both quantitative and qualitative terms through the employment of DH tools for data mining. By mapping the ontological shifts that occurred in traditional languages and concepts' employment as both contrastive and continuous, the present inquiries showcase modern Arab culture's dialectics of secularism and literary revisionism as self-sufficient, culturally embedded and integrated, and not as byproducts of contact with the West. This commentary explores the various ways three papers take up notions of We-ness, I-ness, and With-ness in the process of elaborating the psychoanalytic concepts they address respectively: permeable boundaries, empathy and selfobjects. Geist and Nocek, Goldin, and Stern employ their personal and professional subjectivities to explore how the analytic process can simultaneously foster intimate connection and healthy separateness. This article highlights the similarities and differences between ordinary and mystical consciousness. In the first part, two current views of ordinary consciousness are explained and opposed. Then in the second part, there are explanations of two views of mystical consciousness. The article discusses Daniel Dennett's materialistic reduction of mental phenomena to a biological substratum. Many of his critics consider his stance based on a mere postulate, namely, an initial principle that he took for granted, although I acknowledge that the details of his system are well argued. This article is in a clarificatory dialectic, illustrated by contrasts, spelling out several constructive expositions by a variety of authors, with Canadian philosopher-theologian Bernard Lonergan given prominence. With roots in the early 1960s, decoloniality as a sub-sect of postcolonial studies made successful attempts at redefining and unearthing essentially Western conceptualizations of knowledge and knowledge formation across different fields of endeavor. Many academic disciplines have benefited from decolonial studies' self-reflective theories and deconstructive approaches, and religion and science should not be an exception. Within religion and science as an academic field, Western and European intellectual frames have been overwhelmingly presented as definitive of globalized perspectives and knowledge, especially the definition of "religion" and "science" within the academic field. The subtle but evident impact of adopting Western epistemology as 'the' definitive reference frame for all peoples and cultures is the transposition of colonial and overtly Eurocentric conceptualizations and definitions of what religion and science mean as perfunctory for what religion and science should mean within non-Western frames as well as a disregard for the latter. This has led to the presentation (or overrepresentation, according to Sylvia Wynter) of a single homogenized perspective for meaning-making and interpretation of topics and themes within the field, a decision which has not only significantly impacted the field, in terms of ongoing dialectics about the relationship between religion and science, but which has also seen the exclusion of other forms of beneficial epistemic reference frames, which have been viewed as subaltern. Drawing from Wynter's epistemic disobedience, this paper highlights decolonial approaches for engaging in the academic study of science and religion, and which will advance the path towards delinking the field from Euro-Western conceptualizations. This will unravel the rich epistemic formation within non-Western knowledge frames and the inclusion of which will greatly enrich and redefine the academic study of religion and science in the days ahead. I interpret the rich conceptual insights and empirical findings of the special issue Childhood, Migration and the Pursuit of Happiness in Middle‐Class East Asia through the lens of understanding migration as a journey of narrative quests. Drawing from moral philosopher McIntyre's theory of narrative self and the pursuit of a good life, I highlight the dialectic and dialogic aspects of 'narrative quests' across multiple cases of East Asian educational migration (educational migration broadly construed). I highlight key features, central themes and tensions of narrative quests among these migrant families. I also pose questions for expanding further inquiry under this theoretical framework. This paper argues for two claims. First, that in the Sophist a metaphysical theory of being is constructed from the ground up, largely on the basis of a claim treated as an axiomatic principle, the ' dunamis proposal' (247d–e), which, I will argue, ought to be understood as Plato's own definition of being. Second, once its core is in place, the theory is put to use to provide dialectical arguments against proponents of alternative metaphysical theories for the existence of various entities in the ontology. This paper employs Mikhail Bakhtin for a dialogic reading of dialectics, conceptualising how early childhood education (ECE) teachers' political dialogues are opened up and closed down. Explorations of 'political dialogue', or how teachers respond to issues they deem of political concern, is pertinent for teaching's inherently political nature. How such encounters are opened and closed has special significance for ECE teachers, who have expressed feeling professionally and politically silenced. Guided by a philosophical framing of the contradictions and jostling interplays between dialogism's in-betweenness and dialectic's one-ness, excerpts are analysed from a doctoral study involving 10 Victorian, Australian ECE teachers. This framing and analysis signal the potential ramifications of a dialectical closing down of ECE teachers' political dialogues in addition to how dialogism's in-betweenness fosters openness. Contemplating these language strategies, the paper highlights how a silencing divisiveness may transpire, prompting a need for genuine listening in the threshold in-between the self and other. In response to cursory and idealistic calls for community in feminist theology and trauma literature, the author discerns manifestations of true community walking alongside survivors in the meaning-making process. Drawing from her own experiences, she describes the ways members of true community engage with chaos, themselves, wisdom, and integrity, which each have a role in supporting survivors of trauma in their theological reconstruction. Due to the complexity of trauma and relationships, manifestations of support are often challenging to identify in one's own life and imperfectly embodied. Addressed to those directly impacted by shattered meaning, the article seeks to offer a guiding tool for the complex reconstruction journey that follows traumatic experiences. Amid dialectic tensions between feminist values, the discernment of true community helps distinguish true support from those who limit the scope of their engagement, which provides individuals with agency in claiming their support network. In this article, we focus on the portrayal of Mary Magdalene in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar as a case study to offer insights into the dialectical relationship between theatre and religion. This allows us to better understand the difficulties and limits involved as one attempts to challenge or confront the other. Drawing on the framework of ideological sites, particularly the anthropological distinction between primary and secondary sites, we provide a valuable explanation as to why, despite the endeavours at redressing them, misconceptions about Mary Magdalene continue to exist. In this article I present a three-stage teaching strategy for orienting first-time readers of the Platonic dialogues using the Meno as a case study. The approach assists students lacking a philosophical background to advance from personal reflection to developing more advanced analytical and interpretive skills. The first stage of the method invites students to contemplate their life goals in preparation for a structured class debate between relativistic and absolutist notions of success. The second stage employs in-class philosophical reading groups where students engage with small passages from the Meno to develop their analytical skills in a supportive learning environment. The final stage consists of a two-part writing assignment in which students produce a line-by-line philosophical analysis of their passage along with an essay reconciling the antithetical arguments presented in their selection. By employing this multifaceted approach students cultivate critical analytical and dialectical thinking in order to navigate the complexities of Plato's enigmatic dialogues. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper seeks to examine Du Bois' positive engagement with the Marxist dialectical categories that are the corner-stone of the politico-philosophical tradition, as in Berteli Oilman's Dance of The Dialectic and Fredrich Engels' Anti-Duhring. Du Bois' relationship to Marxism remains downplayed and understudied due to anti-communist historiography and postmodernist interpretations. W. E. B. Du Bois' 1939 work Black Folk, Then and Now demonstrates the centrality of Marxist dialectics to his work, clarifying his philosophical and historiographical development after completing Black Reconstruction. This abstract and philosophical reading of Black Folk, Then and Now reveals not merely that the late Du Bois' radicalism can be categorized as Marxian but also that his late works cannot be understood without an understanding of Marxist political economy and philosophy, revealing that Black Folk, Then and Now is a centerpiece of the scholar-activist's intellectual development. Foregrounding the Korean Wave in storylines, there have been notable co-productions that have cinematically addressed the Southeast Asian fan of “K-Dramas” and her travels to South Korea. By analyzing Ultimate Oppa (2022), I align with a decolonial impulse to study a regional Asian co-production that excludes the usual analysis of the dominant European-U.S. film axis. I argue that intra-Asian co-productions produce ideological asymmetries in these arrangements. In Ultimate Oppa, the relationship between the Philippines and Korea is set against the macro-level influences of unequal “soft power” between Korean and Philippine media, producing visible dialectical tensions. As such, this essay argues that Ultimate Oppa ambivalently presents a cross-national romantic fantasy that reifies regional hierarchies, which are made more palatable through ideological dialectics. ABSTRACT The best‐performing AI systems, such as deep neural networks, tend to be the ones that are most difficult to control and understand. For this reason, scholars worry that the use of AI would lead to so‐called responsibility gaps, that is, situations in which no one is morally responsible for the harm caused by AI, because no one satisfies the so‐called control condition and epistemic condition of moral responsibility. In this article, I acknowledge that there is a significant challenge around responsibility and AI. Yet I don't think that this challenge is best captured in terms of a responsibility gap. Instead, I argue for the opposite view, namely that there is responsibility abundance, that is, a situation in which numerous agents are responsible for the harm caused by AI, and that the challenge comes from the difficulties of dealing with such abundance in practice. I conclude by arguing that reframing the challenge in this way offers distinct dialectic and theoretical advantages, promising to help overcome some obstacles in the current debate surrounding ‘responsibility gaps’. With the increasingly emerging human–artificial intelligence (AI) romantic relationships throughout the world, it is important to understand its meaning from the perspective of users who are dating virtual lovers. This study uses relational dialectics theory 2.0 and its corresponding method of contrapuntal analysis to examine the discursive tensions of what it means to have an AI partner. Specifically, this study focused on users of the social chatbot Replika and analyzed posts shared by Replika users in an online community. Findings revealed two discourses: the discourse of idealization (DI) and the discourse of realism (DR) that interplayed through both contractive and expansive practices. This study contributes to the field by introducing the DI and the DR discourse framework, which lays the groundwork for future research on human–AI relationships. Additionally, the pivotal role of communication is highlighted, which serves as the cornerstone for constructing, framing, and negotiating the meaning of human–AI romantic relationships. This article systematically reconstructs the key elements of the articulation of Marx’s new materialism by Karl Korsch, Weimar Germany’s anti-Stalinist and anti-Social Democratic Marxist heretic. After a brief biographical presentation, and a sketch of the topography of philosophical positions prior and contemporary to him, I develop a thematic presentation of Korsch’s reading of Marx’s materialist dialectics, this-sidedness, the coincidence of consciousness and reality, the problem of application, his salvaging of the category of content, the materialist conception of history and his efforts to produce a theory of the material reproduction of ideology. The 'spatial fix' has been central to economic geography for nearly 50 years, examining capitalist development through both stability and change. Harvey's original conceptions of the fix prioritised capital's capacity to fix space to accumulate and forestall crisis. We continue this by considering the ' socio -spatial fix', allowing closer investigation of who makes the landscapes of capitalism, and how actor choices and actor inter- and intra-relationships forestall crises of accumulation. We show how crisis, time and actors are central to making and re-making socio-spatial fixes and in turn to understanding both the socio-spatial dialectic and the spatial fix. Empirically, we compare two remote but globally networked mining towns, Kiruna, Sweden and Newman, Australia. Mining towns are rewarding case-studies because capital's relative immobility and the dominance of a single industry make strikingly clear how both production and social reproduction are remade. We enrich general theorisations in three ways, by explaining: first, how crisis-threatening events require renegotiation of socio-spatial arrangements; second, how time and timing are critical in remaking fixes; third, how actor agency and heterogeneity are central because the actors who make fixes change over time and are in complex relationships with each other. The present study aimed to compare Heidegger's and Āl-e-Ahmad's views on technology; first, the close relationship between subjectivism and modern technology was analyzed based on Heidegger, and subsequently, it was pointed out that Heidegger's approach towards technology is a critical confrontation based on engagement/disengagement dialectics. Then Jalal Āl-e-Ahmad's view on technology was analyzed, emphasizing that, unlike Heidegger, with a philosophical, ontological, and anticipatory approach to modern technology, Āl-e-Ahmad took a selective and voluntarist approach towards modern technology by adopting a political and social stance. Āl-e-Ahmad, like Promethean and leading intellectuals and reformers, believed that a Westoxificated society is a society that has not yet achieved technology and is technologically dependent on the West. Therefore, to deal with Westoxification, it should become a technological power by adopting a will-based approach--a machine must be built and owned; however, at the same time, one should not be got caught by the machine because it is a means and not a goal. Unlike Āl-e-Ahmad, Heidegger considered technology not a mere tool but a kind of ontology and way of thinking that affects all humans' areas and affairs, so it is not easy to escape modern technology's grip. The text introduces a translation of Ilyenkov's famous text "On the State of Philosophy," which was meant as a letter to the Central Committee of the CPSU and expressed his exasperation with the development of Soviet philosophy. In our introduction, we describe the historical context of the emergence of the letter, including the main changes in Soviet philosophy in the 1960s (esp. rise in popularity of cybernetics), and the institutional details of Ilyenkov's biography. We point to the contemporary relevance of the letter by emphasizing how Ilyenkov's dialectical account of science can enrich contemporary discussions in the sociology of science and STS. Evald Ilyenkov's last book, Leninist Dialectics and the Metaphysics of Positivism, was published in 1980 shortly after the author's tragic demise. In it he celebrated the 70th anniversary of Lenin's still controversial Materialism and Empirio-criticism (1909). Like Lenin's own book, this final contribution by Ilyenkov is often dismissed as mere polemic. But as Lev Naumenko noted in the original preface: "the fires of the ideological struggle have not weakened". Under the protective shield of "Leniniana", as Lev Naumov called it, Ilyenkov set out his approach to materialist dialectics as both the science of logic and the logic of revolution. I discuss the nature of Ilyenkov's motives, the place of Leninist Dialectics within his philosophical oeuvre and why the original manuscript was censored by the Politizdat publishers. I draw on memoirs by Ilyenkov's close colleague and friend Felix Mikhailov and intended co-author, Grigori Vodolazov. Their testimonies make evident that Ilyenkov's challenge to the myth of "two Lenins" was a thinly disguised attack on the technocratic anti-humanistic ideology that prevailed in the late 1970s Soviet Union. I propose that Lenin was inspired by Hegel's dialectic throughout his life through Russian writers as well as Marx and Engels. Ilyenkov explains how Lenin's EmpirioCriticism embodied dialectical concepts that cannot be described as crude materialism. Finally I suggest that Ilyenkov's cri de coeur still stands as a call to the future as a foundation demanding further exploration towards a contemporary theory of knowledge. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article offers a detailed analysis of Ilyenkov's conception of the relationship between the logical and the historical. It posits that Ilyenkov, by overcoming the theoretical impasses of mainstream Soviet Marxism, was the first thinker to recognize the centrality of this relationship in dialectics. Through a brief overview of the official conception of Diamat, I explain that the latter broadly understood the relation of the logical and the historical in a rather superficial way. I then argue that Ilyenkov's approach to dialectics as the ascent from the abstract to the concrete, combined with his research orientation towards the method of Marx's Capital and his reevaluation of Hegel's philosophy led him to a much deeper understanding of the inner unity of the method of ascent from the abstract to the concrete and the relation of the logical and the historical. In reconstructing Ilyenkov's analysis on this matter, I explain how the unfolding of the categories throughout the ascent from the abstract to the concrete is inextricably intertwined with the relation of the logical and the historical. Therefore, the article concludes by arguing that Ilyenkov's analysis marks a significant advance in the understanding of dialectics in the history of Marxism, and a core aspect of this deeper understanding is his systematic approach to the relationship of the logical and the historical. Evil is the result of moral conflicts between two selfaware people who have different moral values. A self-aware person always seeks to actualize his freedom. According to Hegel, the realization of freedom comes with evil. So, the purpose of this article is to explain the question of evil and examine its connection with the concept of freedom in the first place, it seems that evil is the negation of human freedom, while the existence of evil is necessary to achieve freedom as a human goal. Everyone, whenever he seeks to achieve freedom, should not pay attention to his inner institution to establish law in order to make himself known to others. Therefore, the purity of the heart preserves itself, in this way, it suffers hypocrisy, and the result of this hypocrisy is nothing but the appearance of evil. The article first resumes up-to-date conceptualisations of the superego in psychoanalytic theory, stretching from the superegoic sense of guilt (Freud) up to the superego as an "imperative od jouissance" (Lacan), and at the same time as an imperative of transgression insofar as enjoyment is by definition based upon transgression of the law. Against this background, the article develops another conceptualisation of the superego, which consist in the completion of the superegoic dialectics of "dirty and necessary" in perversion. This conception is based upon perverse self-instrumentalisation of the subject, which transforms the "dirtiness" of subjective enjoyment and transgression into their necessity. The article then moves toward the analysis of how especially this new conceptualisation of the superego manifests itself in the popular crime series Chicago Police Department (CPD), and in some logically and structurally similar phenomena, which occurred during Donald Trump's presidency. The dominant tone of the literature on land's territorial politics misses conceptual complexities by neglecting historical constructions of land practices. An alternative understanding intertwines social and political elements emphasised in the non‐dualistic, beyond dialectics, tongbian philosophy. This views everything as consisting of two mutually embedded, opposite poles—different yet without alienation; set in a ceaseless interaction as processes of becoming, continuity and change. The concept of focus–field relationship via a spatial story deciphers complexities between viewing land as territory (LaT) and land as property (LaP). Mobilising this formulation in sites of intensive real estate change (Hong Kong's Sham Shui Po and Mumbai's Malad) reveals subtleties of historical antecedents shaping contemporary forces. Here, complex institutional entanglements reveal both diachronic and synchronic interactions wherein the dynamics of control, shifts in power, growth or decline in time and space co‐join LaT and LaP. Such political complexities question views of land's transformation being contingent on archaic ideas of the Westphalian state and uni‐polar framings of capital moving from the North to the South. The tongbian philosophy allows the exploring of ideas of difference without alienation, embracing epistemic and ontological equivalence in theory and fieldwork, and between the North and South—themes seldom taken up in the geographical literature. Mnemonics are not only tools that empower memory but also have a significant role in qualitatively transforming mental functions and, hence, consciousness in general. A specific type of mnemonics is autobiographical mnemonics (AM) constructed of spatial, temporal, and semantic dimensions used in a naturalist form by individuals about their own experiences. This paper proposes a spatial–temporal mnemonic that transforms AM from a naturalist level into an artificial one. We consider allowing the intellect and consciousness to grasp the abstract flow of time in the global context of geography will contribute to setting the stage for creativity. By explicitly representing the abstract time–space theater, the intellect (the world view) is more able to reflect the abstract laws of reality (the world), hence, to make the intellect sphere objectively equipped to externalize the emerged meanings (the internalized reality) that reflect the internal content of experience and, hence, make sense of them as a crucial function in creative activity. Educational researchers are increasingly striving on the edge of possibility to re-imagine and realise the future. Activist scholarship requires appropriate philosophical and theoretical bases, what Stetsenko refers to as 'dangerous' – useful in the struggle for a better world. How might praxis, agency and learning be charged with transgressive spirit? This paper considers the Theory of Practice Architectures and Transformative Activist Stance, established frameworks that dangerously address praxis, agency and learning. Adopting a postabyssal approach, contributions from the Global South and East are drawn on to develop an epistemologically plural basis for thinking differently about praxis, agency and learning. Recent Latin American scholarship reinvigorates Freirean ideas through connections with Fals Borda and contemporary feminist pedagogues, centred on a notion of feeling-thinking. Luitel's interpretations of Vedic philosophy provide radically different ideas of negative dialectics, chaos, responsibility and liberation. Purpose: This paper explores the role of accounting and accountability techniques in contributing to Australia's border industrial complex. Design/methodology/approach: We use the political thought of Behrouz Boochani to explore the role that accounting techniques play at the micro and macro level of his dialectic of alienation and freedom. Firstly, we explore the accounting and accountability techniques detailed in Boochani's No Friend but the Mountain, which gives an account of his life in Manus Prison, and the accounting techniques he experienced. Secondly, we explore the discourse of alienation created within the annual reporting of the Australian Federal Government regarding the border industrial complex. Findings: We argue that the border industrial complex requires the alienation of asylum seekers from their own humanity for capital accumulation, and that accounting and accountability techniques facilitate this form of alienation. These techniques include inventorying, logging and queuing at the micro level within Manus Prison. This alienates those trapped in the system from one another and themselves. Techniques also include annual reporting at a macro level which alienates those trapped in the system from the (White) "Australian Community". However, these techniques are resisted at every point by assertions of freedom. Originality/value: We illustrate the role of accounting in accumulation by alienation, where the unfreedom of incarcerated asylum seekers is a site of profit for vested interests. But also that this alienation is resisted at every point by refusals of alienation as assertions of freedom. Thus, this study contributes to the accounting literature by drawing from theories of alienation, and putting forward the dialectic of alienation and freedom articulated by Boochani and collaborators. In the Azerbaijani poetic language, certain interesting aspects of the linguistic features of dialectisms consisting of adjectives manifest themselves, and poets have skillfully used such dialectisms to create stylistic nuances unique to themselves. In poetry, words that express qualities, attributes, and characteristics of objects, events, and names are quite rich, and a significant part of these consist of dialectisms based on adjectives. Based on rich poetic examples, it can be confidently said that our poets have more frequently used dialectisms that express the qualities and characteristics of adjectives rather than their synonyms. This is entirely lawful because an object, event, or phenomenon does not have just one attribute or quality, but rather several and these attributes and qualities also exist in various degrees and with different nuances. To express all these subtleties, attributes, and qualities in poetic language, our poets resort to dialectisms made up of adjectives, and in the article, their linguistic characteristics are discussed. In the semantic structure of poetry's phraseological model, dialectisms made up of adjectives hold an important place, and these dialectisms, along with their synonymous variants, play an unparalleled role in the creation of stylistic structures with different stylistic shades. The stylistic and grammatical capacity of poetic language is greatly expanded with the help of dialectics consisting of adjectives, and the poetic materials present in Azerbaijani linguistics are rarely seen to touch upon such important issues. I argue that Gilles-Gaston Granger (1920–2016) broadly incorporates the central affirmations of Jean Cavaillès's (1903–44) philosophy of the concept into his own epistemological program. Cavaillès and Granger share three interrelated epistemological commitments: they claim (1) that mathematics has its own content and is therefore autonomous from and irreducible to logic, (2) that conceptual transformations in the history of mathematics can only be explained by an internal dialectic of concepts, and (3) that the objectivity of mathematics is an effect of the productive form of its rationality—that is, they claim that mathematical objectivity is the result of a generative process internal to mathematics. Mathematical objectivity, as I demonstrate, requires Cavaillès and Granger to modify the limits of epistemological critique as envisioned by Kant. For Cavaillès, this modification requires the elimination of the transcendental in favor of a dialectic of concepts. For Granger, the philosophy of the concept remains a genre of transcendental critique, but in a radically revised "Ptolemaic" style. I initially demonstrate how Granger extracts each of these claims from Cavaillès. I then follow Granger as he develops these claims in the service of a novel description of the content and structure of mathematical objectivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This essay explores counter-hegemonic madness as resistance strategy against European colonialism, American imperialism, and neocolonialism in Imbolo Mbue’s ecocritical novel, How Beautiful We Were. Mbue plunges the reader in the middle of what La Marr Jurelle Bruce terms “psychosocial” madness, havoc perpetuated by an African dictator, His Excellency, who is also a stooge of an American oil company called Pexton. The plot unfolds in the village of Kosawa, located in an unnamed, fictional African country. Mbue’s characters put a timer on the West’s impunity, attacking it by any means necessary, thus inspiring an honestly brutal discussion about the difficult and often-times deadly routes to the beauty of true freedom. How Beautiful We Were begins with disruptive psychosocial madness at an individual level, an intervention eventually undercut by a transition to a collective, albeit elitist resistant movement which privileges both negotiated and violent solutions. The individualistic resistance movement toward social change, led by Konga, the “village madman,” lays the foundation for a nationwide popular struggle toward social justice led by a woman, Thula, who is predictably discounted as “fickle” and unwomanly by the patriarchal community that sabotages her important interventions. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the need for digitalization of the evidence base of war crimes of the aggressor country with its subsequent use in international judicial institutions, and also to develop a conceptual framework for generating an e-catalog of missile fragments and debris in the course of identification expert proceedings. The reliability of the results and conclusions obtained is ensured by the use of a set of general scientific and special research methods. In particular, using the dialectical method as a general method of cognition, the author examines the classification and terminological features of expert research on the identification of missiles used against Ukraine; by applying the methods of systematic and comparative analysis, the author reveals an approach to systematization of missile fragments and debris with external (species) and internal (constructive) differentiation of the evidence base material; the use of the methods of formal logic, analogy, and generalization allowed the author to formulate and present the results of forensic examination. The conceptual foundations of generating an e-catalog of missile fragments and debris in the process of identification expert proceedings are revealed. The external (species) and internal (constructive) components of the evidence base of war crimes involving missile weapons are distinguished. A generalized algorithm for missile identification is developed. It is argued that for the purposes of identification of missiles used as an instrument of a war crime and intended to reveal the link “missile – launch vehicle – person who launched a missile from a launch vehicle (perpetrator of the crime) – person(s) who ordered the launch of a missile (organizer, accomplice), the most important classification criteria are those which reveal the type and basing of the launch vehicle and the alleged perpetrator. It has been established that in general, informative fragments and debris are subject to identification by the following criteria: available markings on the body, structural unit, part, fragment, wreckage, etc.; presence of surviving missile compartments; characteristic shapes, colors, etc.; characteristic materials. Definitions are disclosed: “identification of a combat missile”; “e-catalog of missiles as a document”; “fragments of a used missile”; “fragments of a used missile”; “combat missile”.
