We present analyses of an Intermediate Polar, IGR J15094-6649, based on the archival optical data obtained from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and X-ray data obtained from the Suzaku, NuSTAR, and Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory (Swift). Present analysis confirms and refines the previously reported spin period of IGR J15094-6649 as 809.49584$\pm$0.00075 s. Clear evidence of a beat period of 841.67376$\pm$0.00082 s is found during the long-term TESS optical observations, which was not evident in the earlier studies. The dominance of X-ray and optical spin pulse unveils the disc-fed dominance accretion, however, the presence of an additional beat frequency indicates that part of the accreting material also flows along the magnetic field lines. The energy-dependent spin pulsations in the low (< 10 keV) energy band are due to the photoelectric absorption in the accretion flow. However, the complex absorbers may be responsible to produce low amplitude spin modulations via Compton scattering in the hard ( > 10 keV) energy band and indicate that the height of the X-ray emitting region may be negligible. The observed double-humped X-ray profiles with a pronounced dip are indicative of the photoelectric absorption in the intervening accretion stream. We present optical photometric and spectroscopic studies of three supernovae (SNe) SN 2013bz, PSN J0910+5003 and ASASSN-16ex. UV-optical photometric data of ASASSN-16ex obtained with Swift-UVOT are also analyzed. These objects were initially classified as 09dc-like type Ia SNe. The decline rate parameters ($\Delta m_{15}(B)_{true}$) are derived as 0.92 $\pm$ 0.04 (SN 2013bz), 0.70 $\pm$ 0.05 (PSN J0910+5003) and 0.73 $\pm$ 0.03 (ASASSN-16ex). The estimated $B$ band absolute magnitudes at maximum: $-$19.61 $\pm$ 0.20 mag for SN 2013bz, $-$19.44 $\pm$ 0.20 mag for PSN J0910+5003 and $-$19.78 $\pm$ 0.20 mag for ASASSN-16ex indicate that all the three objects are relatively bright. The peak bolometric luminosities for these objects are derived as $\log L_\text{bol}^\text{max} =$ 43.38 $\pm$ 0.07 erg s$^{-1}$, 43.26 $\pm$ 0.07 erg s$^{-1}$ and 43.40 $\pm$ 0.06 erg s$^{-1}$, respectively. The spectral and velocity evolution of SN 2013bz is similar to a normal SN Ia, hence it appears to be a luminous, normal type Ia supernova. On the other hand, the light curves of PSN J0910+5003 and ASASSN-16ex are broad and exhibit properties similar to 09dc-like SNe Ia. Their spectroscopic evolution shows similarity with 09dc-like SNe, strong CII lines are seen in the pre-maximum spectra of these two events. Their photospheric velocity evolution is similar to SN 2006gz. We present optical observations and Monte Carlo radiative transfer modeling of the Type Ia supernova SN 2011aa. With a $\Delta m_{15} (B)$ of $0.59 \pm 0.07$ mag and a peak magnitude $M_{\rm B}$ of $-19.30 \pm 0.27$ mag, SN 2011aa has the slowest decline rate among SNe Ia. The secondary maximum in the $I$-band is absent or equally bright as the primary maximum. The velocity of C II is lower than the velocity of Si II. This indicates either presence of C at lower velocities than Si or a line of sight effect. Application of Arnett's radiation diffusion model to the bolometric light curve indicates a massive ejecta $M_{\rm{ej}} ~ 1.8 - 2.6~M_{\odot}$. The slow decline rate and large ejecta mass, with a normal peak magnitude, are well explained by double degenerate, violent merger explosion model. The synthetic spectra and light curves generated with SEDONA considering a violent merger density profile match the observations., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. Optical, near-infrared (NIR) photometric and spectroscopic studies, along with the optical imaging polarimetric results for SN 2012au, are presented in this article to constrain the nature of the progenitor and other properties. Well-calibrated multiband optical photometric data (from $-$0.2 to +413 d since $B$-band maximum) were used to compute the bolometric light curve and to perform semi-analytical light-curve modelling using the $\texttt{MINIM}$ code. A spin-down millisecond magnetar-powered model explains the observed photometric evolution of SN 2012au reasonably. Early-time imaging polarimetric follow-up observations ($-$2 to +31 d) and comparison with other similar cases indicate signatures of asphericity in the ejecta. Good spectral coverage of SN 2012au (from $-$5 to +391 d) allows us to trace the evolution of layers of SN ejecta in detail. SN 2012au exhibits higher line velocities in comparison with other SNe Ib. Late nebular phase spectra of SN 2012au indicate a Wolf$-$Rayet star as the possible progenitor for SN 2012au, with oxygen, He-core, and main-sequence masses of $\sim$1.62 $\pm$ 0.15 M$_\odot$, $\sim$4$-$8 M$_\odot$, and $\sim$17$-$25 M$_\odot$, respectively. There is a clear absence of a first overtone of carbon monoxide (CO) features up to +319 d in the $K$-band region of the NIR spectra. Overall analysis suggests that SN 2012au is one of the most luminous slow-decaying Type Ib SNe, having comparatively higher ejecta mass ($\sim$4.7$-$8.3 M$_\odot$) and kinetic energy ($\sim$[4.8 $-$ 5.4] $\times$ 10$^{51}$ erg). Detailed modelling using $\texttt{MESA}$ and the results obtained through $\texttt{STELLA}$ and $\texttt{SNEC}$ explosions also strongly support spin-down of a magnetar with mass of around 20 M$_\odot$ and metallicity Z = 0.04 as a possible powering source of SN 2012au., 29 pages, 19 figures, 8 tables, Accepted in MNRAS, Accepted 2021 June 28. R.; Zielinski, P., OJ 287 is a BL Lacertae type quasar in which the active galactic nucleus (AGN) outshines the host galaxy by an order of magnitude. The only exception to this may be at minimum light when the AGN activity is so low that the host galaxy may make quite a considerable contribution to the photometric intensity of the source. Such a dip or a fade in the intensity of OJ 287 occurred in 2017 November, when its brightness was about 1.75 mag lower than the recent mean level. We compare the observations of this fade with similar fades in OJ 287 observed earlier in 1989, 1999, and 2010. It appears that there is a relatively strong reddening of the B− V colours of OJ 287 when its V-band brightness drops below magnitude 17. Similar changes are also seen in V− R, V− I, and R− I colours during these deep fades. These data support the conclusion that the total magnitude of the host galaxy is V = 18.0 ± 0.3, corresponding to MK = −26.5 ± 0.3 in the K-band. This is in agreement with the results, obtained using the integrated surface brightness method, from recent surface photometry of the host. These results should encourage us to use the colour separation method also in other host galaxies with strongly variable AGN. In the case of OJ 287, both the host galaxy and its central black hole are among the biggest known, and its position in the black hole mass–galaxy mass diagram lies close to the mean correlation. © 2022 The Author(s). We present the photometric and spectroscopic analysis of three Type II SNe: 2014cx, 2014cy and 2015cz. SN 2014cx is a conventional Type IIP with a shallow slope (0.2 mag/50d) and an atypical short plateau ($\sim$86 d). SNe 2014cy and 2015cz show relatively large decline rates (0.88 and 1.64 mag/50d, respectively) at early times before settling to the plateau phase, unlike the canonical Type IIP/L SN light curves. All of them are normal luminosity SN II with an absolute magnitude at mid-plateau of M$_{V,14cx}^{50}$=$-$16.6$\pm$0.4$\,\rm{mag}$, M$_{V,14cy}^{50}$=$-$16.5$\,\pm\,$0.2$\,\rm{mag}$ and M$_{V,15cz}^{50}$=$-$17.4$\,\pm\,$0.3$\,\rm{mag}$. A relatively broad range of $^{56}$Ni masses is ejected in these explosions (0.027-0.070 M$_\odot$). The spectra show the classical evolution of Type II SNe, dominated by a blue continuum with broad H lines at early phases and narrower metal lines with P Cygni profiles during the plateau. High-velocity H I features are identified in the plateau spectra of SN 2014cx at 11600 km s$^{-1}$, possibly a sign of ejecta-circumstellar interaction. The spectra of SN 2014cy exhibit strong absorption profile of H I similar to normal luminosity events whereas strong metal lines akin to sub-luminous SNe. The analytical modelling of the bolometric light curve of the three events yields similar radii for the three objects within errors (478, 507 and 608 R$_\odot$ for SNe 2014cx, 2014cy and 2015cz, respectively) and a range of ejecta masses (15.0, 22.2 and 18.7 M$_\odot$ for SNe 2014cx, 2014cy and 2015cz), and a modest range of explosion energies (3.3 - 6.0 foe where 1 foe = 10$^{51}$ erg)., Comment: 20 pages, 23 Figures, 3 figures in appendix, accepted for publication in MNRAS

We investigate the observational properties of a hydrogen-deficient superluminous supernova (SLSN) SN 2020ank (at z = 0.2485), with the help of early phase observations carried out between $-$21 and +52 d since $g$-band maximum. Photometrically, SN 2020ank is one of the brightest SLSN ($M_{g,peak}$ $\sim$ $-$21.84 $\pm$ 0.10 mag), having fast pre-peak rising and post-peak decaying rates. The bolometric light curve of SN 2020ank exhibits a higher peak luminosity ($L_{max}$) of $\sim$(3.9 $\pm$ 0.7) $\times$ 10$^{44}$ erg s$^{-1}$ and appears to be symmetric around the peak with $L^{rise}_{max}$/e $\approx$ $L^{fall}_{max}$/e $\approx$ 15 d. The semi-analytical light-curve modelling using the MINIM code suggests a spin down millisecond magnetar with $P_i$ $\sim$2.2 $\pm$ 0.5 ms and $B$ $\sim$(2.9 $\pm$ 0.1) $\times$ $10^{14}$ G as a possible powering source for SN 2020ank. The possible magnetar origin and excess ultraviolet flux at early epochs indicate a central-engine based powering source for SN 2020ank. Near-peak spectra of SN 2020ank are enriched with the W-shaped O II features but with the weaker signatures of C II and Fe III. Using the estimated rise time of $\sim$27.9 d and the photospheric velocity of $\sim$12050 km s$^{-1}$, we constrain the ejecta mass to $\sim$7.2 $M_{\odot}$ and the kinetic energy of $\sim$6.3 $\times$ 10$^{51}$ erg. The near-peak spectrum of SN 2020ank exhibits a close spectral resemblance with that of fast-evolving SN 2010gx. The absorption features of SN 2020ank are blueshifted compared to Gaia16apd, suggesting a higher expansion velocity. The spectral similarity with SN 2010gx and comparatively faster spectral evolution than PTF12dam (a slow-evolving SLSN) indicate the fast-evolving behavior of SN 2020ank., Comment: 17 pages, 13 figures, Accepted in MNRAS, Accepted 2020 December 29. We present the photometric and spectroscopic studies of a Type Ib SN 2015ap and a Type Ic SN 2016P. SN 2015ap is one of the bright (M$_{V}$ = $-$18.04 mag) Type Ib while SN 2016P lies at an average value among the Type Ic SNe (M$_{V}$ = $-$17.53 mag). Bolometric light curve modelling of SNe 2015ap and 2016P indicates that both the SNe are powered by $^{56}$Ni + magnetar model with $^{56}$Ni masses of 0.01 M$_{\odot}$ and 0.002 M$_{\odot}$, ejecta masses of 3.75 M$_{\odot}$ and 4.66 M$_{\odot}$, spin period P$_{0}$ of 25.8 ms and 36.5 ms and magnetic field B$_{p}$ of 28.39 $\times$ 10$^{14}$ Gauss and 35.3 $\times$ 10$^{14}$ Gauss respectively. The early spectra of SN 2015ap shows prominent lines of He with a "W" feature due to Fe complexes while other lines of Mg II, Na I and Si II are present in both SNe 2015ap and 2016P. Nebular phase [O I] profile indicates an asymmetric profile in SN 2015ap. We present spectroscopic and photometric observations of the Type IIP supernova, SN 2020jfo, in ultraviolet and optical wavelengths. SN 2020jfo occurred in the spiral galaxy M61 (NGC 4303), with eight observed supernovae in the past 100 years. SN 2020jfo exhibited a short plateau lasting < 65 d, and achieved a maximum brightness in V-band of $M_V$ = -17.4 $\pm$ 0.4 mag at about 8.0 $\pm$ 0.5 d since explosion. From the bolometric light curve, we have estimated the mass of $^{56}$Ni synthesised in the explosion to be 0.033 $\pm$ 0.006 $M_\odot$. The observed spectral features are typical for a type IIP supernova except for shallow H$\alpha$ absorption throughout the evolution and the presence of stable $^{58}$Ni feature at 7378 \r{A}, in the nebular phase. Using hydrodynamical modelling in the MESA + STELLA framework, an ejecta mass of ~ 5 $M_\odot$ is estimated. Models also indicate SN 2020jfo could be the result of a Red Super Giant progenitor with $M_{ZAMS}$ ~ 12 $M_\odot$. Bolometric light curve modelling revealed the presence of a secondary radiation source for initial ~ 20 d, which has been attributed to interaction with a circumstellar material of mass ~ 0.2 $M_\odot$, which most likely was ejected due to enhanced mass loss about 20 years prior to the supernova explosion., Comment: Accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal. 25 pages, 22 figures, and 7 tables

We present and analyze 58 transit light curves of TrES-3b and 98 transit light curves of Qatar-1b observed by Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), plus two transit light curves of Qatar-1b observed by us using a ground-based 1.23\,m telescope. These light curves are combined with the best-quality light curves taken from the Exoplanet Transit Database (ETD) and literature. The precisely determined mid-transit times from these light curves enable us to obtain the refined orbital ephemerides with improved precision for both hot Jupiters. From the timing analysis, we find an indication for the presence of transit timing variations (TTVs) in both systems. Since the observed TTVs are unlikely to be short-term and periodic, the possibility of additional planets in the orbits close to TrES-3b and Qatar-1b are ruled out. Possible causes of long-term TTVs such as orbital decay, apsidal precession, the Applegate mechanism and line-of-sight acceleration are also examined. However, none of these possibilities are found to explain the observed TTV of TrES-3b. In contrast to this, the line-of-sight acceleration appears to be a plausible explanation for the observed TTV of Qatar-1b. We present comprehensive spectroscopic and photometric analyses of the intermediate luminosity type lax supernova (SN lax) 2019muj based on multi-band datasets observed through the framework of the OISTER target-of-opportunity program. SN 2019muj exhibits almost identical characteristics to the subluminous SNe lax 2008ha and 2010ae in terms of the observed spectral features and the light curve evolution at the early phase, except for the peak luminosity. The long-term observations unveil late-time flattening light curves as seen in luminous SN lax 2014dt. This can be explained by the existence of an inner dense and optically thick component possibly associated with a bound white dwarf remnant left behind after the explosion. We demonstrate that the weak deflagration model with a wide range of explosion parameters can reproduce the late-phase light curves of other SNe lax. We present an extensive optical–ultraviolet photometry and analysis of a series of optical spectra of type Ia supernovae SN 2009ig and SN 2012cg. The observations range from −15 to +185 d for SN 2009ig and from −14 to 316 d for SN 2012cg, with respect to maximum light in B band. Both SN 2009ig and SN 2012cg exhibit similar properties. They have similar decline rate parameter (Δm15(B)true = 0.92 ± 0.04 for SN 2009ig and 0.93 ± 0.06 for SN 2012cg) and B band peak absolute magnitude (−19.45 ± 0.40 mag for SN 2009ig and −19.50 ± 0.31 mag for SN 2012cg). Their early spectra show high-velocity features in Si ii and Ca ii lines. The strong Fe iii, Si iii, and weak Si ii λ5972 line during pre-maximum phase are indicative of hot photosphere. The post-maximum velocity evolution shows a plateau like phase with velocities ∼13 000 km s−1 for SN 2009ig and ∼10 000 km s−1 for SN 2012cg. Both events show spectral evolution similar to normal SNe Ia and fall in LVG and Core Normal subgroup. Both have smaller strength ratio [$\cal R$(Si ii) = 0.17 for SN 2009ig and 0.20 for SN 2012cg] consistent with smaller Δm15(B). Peak bolometric luminosities ($\log L_\text{bol}^\text{max}$) of these events are estimated as 43.17 ± 0.16 and 43.24 ± 0.11 erg s−1 suggesting that 0.60 ± 0.20 M⊙ of 56Ni was synthesized in the explosion of SN 2009ig and 0.72 ± 0.31 M⊙ in SN 2012cg.

9 pags., 5 figs., 3 tabs., In this Letter, we report the discovery of an ultraluminous fast-evolving transient in rest-frame UV wavelengths, MUSSES2020J, soon after its occurrence by using the Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) mounted on the 8.2 m Subaru telescope. The rise time of about 5 days with an extremely high UV peak luminosity shares similarities to a handful of fast blue optical transients whose peak luminosities are comparable with the most luminous supernovae while their timescales are significantly shorter (hereafter "fast blue ultraluminous transient,"FBUT). In addition, MUSSES2020J is located near the center of a normal low-mass galaxy at a redshift of 1.063, suggesting a possible connection between the energy source of MUSSES2020J and the central part of the host galaxy. Possible physical mechanisms powering this extreme transient such as a wind-driven tidal disruption event and an interaction between supernova and circumstellar material are qualitatively discussed based on the first multiband early-phase light curve of FBUTs, although whether the scenarios can quantitatively explain the early photometric behavior of MUSSES2020J requires systematical theoretical investigations. We present the optical (UBVRI) and ultraviolet (Swift-UVOT) photometry, and optical spectroscopy of Type Ia supernova SN 2017hpa. We study broadband UV+optical light curves and low resolution spectroscopy spanning from $-13.8$ to $+108$~d from the maximum light in $B$-band. The photometric analysis indicates that SN 2017hpa is a normal type Ia with $\Delta m_{B}(15) = 0.98\pm0.16$ mag and $M_{B}=-19.45\pm0.15$ mag at a distance modulus of $\mu = 34.08\pm0.09$ mag. The $(uvw1-uvv)$ colour evolution shows that SN 2017hpa falls in the NUV-blue group. The $(B-V)$ colour at maximum is bluer in comparison to normal type Ia supernovae. Spectroscopic analysis shows that the Si II 6355 absorption feature evolves rapidly with a velocity gradient, $\dot{v}=128\pm 7$ km s$^{-1}$ d$^{-1}$. The pre-maximum phase spectra show prominent C II 6580 {\AA} absorption feature. The C II 6580 {\AA} line velocity measured from the observed spectra is lower than the velocity of Si II 6355 {\AA}, which could be due to a line of sight effect. The synthetic spectral fits to the pre-maximum spectra using syn++ indicate the presence of a high velocity component in the Si II absorption, in addition to a photospheric component. Fitting the observed spectrum with the spectral synthesis code TARDIS, the mass of unburned C in the ejecta is estimated to be $\sim 0.019$~$M_{\odot}$. The peak bolometric luminosity is $L^{bol}_{peak} = 1.43\times10^{43}$ erg s$^{-1}$. We present a comprehensive multiwavelength investigation of a likely massive young cluster `IRAS 05100+3723' and its environment with the aim to understand its formation history and feedback effects. We find that IRAS 05100+3723 is a distant ($\sim$3.2 kpc), moderate mass ($\sim$500 \msun), young ($\sim$3 Myr) cluster with its most massive star being an O8.5V-type. From spectral modeling, we estimate the effective temperature and log $g$ of the star as $\sim$33,000 K and $\sim$3.8, respectively. Our radio continuum observations reveal that the star has ionized its environment forming an HII region of size $\sim$2.7 pc, temperature $\sim$5,700 K, and electron density $\sim$165 cm$^{-3}$. However, our large-scale dust maps reveal that it has heated the dust up to several parsecs ($\sim$10 pc) in the range 17$-$28 K and the morphology of warm dust emission resembles a bipolar HII region. From dust and $^{13}$CO gas analyses, we find evidences that the formation of the HII region has occurred at the very end of a long filamentary cloud around 3 Myr ago, likely due to edge collapse of the filament. We show that the HII region is currently compressing a clump of mass $\sim$2700 \msun at its western outskirts, at the junction of the HII region and filament. We observe several 70 $\mu$m point sources of intermediate-mass and class 0 nature within the clump. We attribute these sources as the second generation stars of the complex. We propose that the star formation in the clump is either induced or being facilitated by the compression of the expanding HII region onto the inflowing filamentary material., Comment: ApJ, accepted

Comet 2I/Borisov is the first true interstellar comet discovered. Here we present results from observational programs at two Indian observatories, 2 m Himalayan Chandra Telescope at the Indian Astronomical Observatory, Hanle (HCT) and 1.2 m telescope at the Mount Abu Infrared Observatory (MIRO). Two epochs of imaging and spectroscopy were carried out at the HCT and three epochs of imaging at MIRO. We found CN to be the dominant molecular emission on both epochs, 31/11/2019 and 22/12/2019, at distances of r$_H$ = 2.013 and 2.031 AU respectively. The comet was inferred to be relatively depleted in Carbon bearing molecules on the basis of low $C_2$ and $C_3$ abundances. We find the production rate ratio, Q($C_2$)/Q(CN) = 0.54 $\pm$ 0.18, pre-perihelion and Q($C_2$)/Q(CN) = 0.34 $\pm$ 0.12 post-perihelion. This classifies the comet as being moderately depleted in carbon chain molecules. Using the results from spectroscopic observations, we believe the comet to have a chemically heterogeneous surface having variation in abundance of carbon chain molecules. From imaging observations we infer a dust-to-gas ratio similar to carbon chain depleted comets of the Solar system. We also compute the nucleus size to be in the range $0.18\leq r \leq 3.1$ Km. We present optical UBVRI photometry and low-to-medium resolution spectroscopic observations of type Iax SN 2020sck spanning -5.5 d to +67 d from maximum light in the B-band. From the photometric analysis we find $\Delta m_{\rm{B}}$(15) = 2.03$\pm$0.05 mag and $M_{\rm{B}}$=-17.81$\pm$0.22 mag. Radiation diffusion model fit to the quasi-bolometric light curve indicates 0.13$\pm$0.02 $M_{\odot}$ of $^{56}$Ni and 0.34 $M_{\rm \odot}$ of ejecta are synthesized in the explosion. Comparing the observed quasi-bolometric light curve with angle-averaged bolometric light curve of three-dimensional pure deflagration explosion of $M_{\rm{ch}}$ carbon-oxygen white dwarf, we find agreement with a model in which 0.16 $M_{\odot}$ of $^{56}$Ni and 0.37 $M_{\odot}$ of ejecta is formed. By comparing the +1.4 day spectrum of SN 2020sck with synthetic spectrum generated using SYN++, we find absorption features due to C II, C III and O I. These are unburned materials in the explosion and indicate a C-O white dwarf. One dimensional radiative transfer modeling of the spectra with TARDIS shows higher density in the ejecta near the photosphere and a steep decrease in the outer layers with an ejecta composition dominated mostly by C, O, Si, Fe, and Ni. The star formation rate of the host galaxy computed from the luminosity of the H$\alpha$ ($\lambda$6563) line is 0.09 $M_{\odot}$ yr$^{-1}$ indicating a relatively young stellar environment., Comment: 28 pages, 17 figures, 11 tables, Accepted for Publication in ApJ

Considering the importance of investigating the transit timing variations (TTVs) of transiting exoplanets, we present a follow-up study of HAT-P-12b. We include six new light curves observed between 2011 and 2015 from three different observatories, in association with 25 light curves taken from the published literature. The sample of the data used, thus covers a time span of about 10.2 years with a large coverage of epochs (1160) for the transiting events of the exoplanet HAT-P-12b. The light curves are used to determine the orbital parameters and conduct an investigation of possible transit timing variations. The new linear ephemeris shows a large value of reduced chi-square = 7.93, and the sinusoidal fitting using the prominent frequency coming from a periodogram shows a reduced chi-square around 4. Based on these values and the corresponding O-C diagrams, we suspect the presence of a possible non-sinusoidal TTV in this planetary system. Finally, we find that a scenario with an additional non-transiting exoplanet could explain this TTV with an even smaller reduced chi-square value of around 2., 19 pages, 7 tables, 6 figures, accepted by RAA

Motivated by the unsettled conclusion on whether there are any transit timing variations (TTVs) for the exoplanet Qatar-1b, 10 new transit light curves are presented and the TTV analysis with a baseline of 1400 epochs are performed. Because the linear model provides a good fitting with reduced chi-square = 2.59 and the false-alarm probabilities of possible TTV frequencies are as large as 35 %, our results are consistent with a null-TTV model. Nevertheless, a new ephemeris with the reference time T_0 = 2455647.63360\pm 0.00008 (BJD) and the period P= 1.4200236\pm 0.0000001 (day) is obtained. The transit timing variation (TTV) and transmission spectroscopy analyses of the planet HAT-P-37b, which is a hot Jupiter orbiting an G-type star, were performed. Nine new transit light curves are obtained and analysed together with 21 published light curves from the literature. The updated physical parameters of HAT-P-37b are presented. The TTV analyses show a possibility that the system has an additional planet which induced the TTVs amplitude signal of 1.74 $\pm$ 0.17 minutes. If the body is located near the 1:2 mean motion resonance orbit, the sinusoidal TTV signal could be caused by the gravitational interaction of a sub-Earth mass planet with mass of 0.06 $M_\oplus$. From the analysis of an upper mass limit for the second planet, the Saturn mass planet with orbital period less than 6 days is excluded. Patient generally faces some degree of cardio-pulmonary complication, in post operative period, measuring O2 saturation, ECG changes and haemodynamics changes despites pulmonary and circulatory complication in post operative patient receiving Morphine, Tramadol and Pathedine. Patients were divided into 3 groups. Group A: Morphine Group -: Subgroup I: morphine IM, Subgroup II: morphine IV, Subgroup III: Morphine epidurally, Group B: Tramadol Group -: Subgroup I: tramadol IM, Subgroup II: tramadol IV, Subgroup III: Tramadol epidurally., Group C: Control Group-: Patients receiving Pethidine IM on demand, which is the standard practice. In each .sub group we 10 patient included (n=10).In our study we found Variables like pulse rate, systolic or diastolic or mean blood pressure, respiratory rate, changes in ECG and arterial oxygen saturation showed no statistically significant difference between study and control groups. Keeping in view all the factors considered in the present study, epidural morphine was found to be the best analgesic with very good analgesia, less sedation and hemodynamic stability with fewer side effects. Epidural Tramadol was found to be the next best. IM Tramadol was last in rating as it was a poor analgesic for intense postoperative pain, although hemodynamic and respiratory stability was good without any side effects. So we recommend epidural morphine 3mg in 10ml saline for control of postoperative pain relief.

We present photometric and spectroscopic observations of the type Ibn supernova (SN) 2019uo, the second ever SN Ibn with flash ionization (He II, C III, N III) features in its early spectra. SN 2019uo displays a rapid post-peak luminosity decline of 0.1 mag d$^{-1}$ similar to most of the SNe Ibn, but is fainter ($M^V_{max} = -18.30 \pm 0.24$ mag) than a typical SN Ibn and shows a color evolution that places it between SNe Ib and the most extreme SNe Ibn. SN 2019uo shows P-cygni He I features in the early spectra which gradually evolves and becomes emission dominated post peak. It also shows faster evolution in line velocities as compared to most other members of the type Ibn subclass. We present results of the photometric (from 3 to 509 days past explosion) and spectroscopic (up to 230 days past explosion) monitoring campaign of the He-rich Type IIb supernova (SN) 2015as. The {\it (B-V)} colour evolution of SN 2015as closely resemble those of SN 2008ax, suggesting that SN 2015as belongs to the SN IIb subgroup that does not show the early, short-duration photometric peak. The light curve of SN 2015as reaches the $B$-band maximum about 22 days after the explosion, at an absolute magnitude of -16.82 $\pm$ 0.18 mag. At $\sim$ 75 days after the explosion, its spectrum transitions from that of a SN II to a SN Ib. P~Cygni features due to He I lines appear at around 30 days after explosion, indicating that the progenitor of SN 2015as was partially stripped. For SN~2015as, we estimate a $^{56}$Ni mass of $\sim$ 0.08 M$_{\odot}$ and ejecta mass of 1.1--2.2 M$_{\odot}$, which are similar to the values inferred for SN 2008ax. The quasi bolometric analytical light curve modelling suggests that the progenitor of SN 2015as has a modest mass ($\sim$ 0.1 M$_{\odot}$), a nearly-compact ($\sim$ 0.05$\times$10$^{13}$ cm) H envelope on top of a dense, compact ($\sim$ 2$\times$10$^{11}$ cm) and a more massive ($\sim$ 1.2 M$_{\odot}$) He core. The analysis of the nebular phase spectra indicates that $\sim$ 0.44 M$_{\odot}$ of O is ejected in the explosion. In the present research module the samples with chemical composition CaMeFe11O19 (where Me = Al and Cr) were successfully synthesized using perfect stoichiometeric proportions of reacting oxides by sol gel auto-combustion method. X - ray diffraction analysis of sample showed that both the compounds are in single, hexagonal M - type phase with unit cell dimensions ‘a’ and ‘c’ varies between 5 to 6 Ǻ and 21 to 23 A respectively with space group SG:P63/mmc (No. 194). Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis showed a good crystallization, smooth surface without any cracks. The Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) analysis proved that the compounds belong to nanoparticle range. The magnetic properties measured using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), optimized saturation magnetization (Ms) of the compound reached 67.9emu/g and 14.8emu/g for Al and Cr substituted compound respectively, while coercive force (Mr) ranges between 3386.1 Oe for Al and 1046.0 Oe for Cr. These values are close to that of its counterpart with CaM

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Esophageal adenocarcinoma is the sixth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. For locally advanced patients, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by surgery is the standard of care. Risk stratification relies heavily on clinicopathologic features, particularly pathologic response, which is inadequate. This highlights the need for the development of biomarkers that can help improve outcomes. Herein, we have developed 2 distinct biomarker signatures to either predict response to neoadjuvant therapy or stratify patients into risk categories for survival. MATERIALS/METHODS We assembled a cohort of 34 patients with locally advanced esophageal adenocarcinoma, with the majority (21) receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy with carboplatin/paclitaxel. A capture based targeted sequencing was performed in paired biopsy specimens obtained at baseline, 3- and 6-weeks post-treatment. Differentially mutated gene analysis between responders and non-responders of treatment was performed to determine predictors of response. A univariate Cox proportional hazard regression was used to examine associations between gene mutation status and overall survival. A risk score was then calculated for each patient using a linear combination of univariate coefficient and mutation status of gene. RESULTS 15 patients (71%) receiving the CROSS regimen were classified as responders. Among responders to chemotherapy, the most frequently mutated genes were MKI67, SYNE1, PCLO, MSH3, RECQL4, NOTCH2, ILR7, CIITA, LRRK2 and EML4. Tumor mutation count was significantly reduced for these genes in post-treatment samples (P = 5.89E-03). We have identified a 3 gene signature based on mutations in EPHA5, BCL6, and ERBB2 that robustly predicts response to carboplatin/paclitaxel based neoadjuvant therapy. For this model, sensitivity is 84.6% and specificity is 100%. In the overall cohort, a 9 gene signature using APC, MAP3K6, ETS1, CSF3R, PDGFRB, GATA2, ARID1A, and FGF6, was also created that significantly stratifies patients into risk categories, prognosticating for improved relapse-free (P = 0.005) and overall survival (P = 3.325E-06). Sensitivity for this model is 73.33% and specificity is 94.74%. CONCLUSION We have identified a 3-gene signature (EPHA5, BCL6 and ERBB2) that is predictive of response to neoadjuvant therapy and a separate 9 gene classifier which prognosticates for survival outcomes. These provide significant potential for personalized management of locally advanced esophageal cancer.

We present the results based on photometric ($Swift$ UVOT), broad-band polarimetric ($V$ and $R$-band) and optical spectroscopic observations of the Type IIn supernova (SN) 2017hcc. Our study is supplemented with spectropolarimetric data available in literature for this event. The post-peak light curve evolution is slow ($\sim$0.2 mag 100 d$^{-1}$ in $b$-band). The spectrum of $\sim$+27 d shows a blue continuum with narrow emission lines, typical of a Type IIn SN. Archival polarization data along with the $Gaia$ DR2 distances have been utilized to evaluate the interstellar polarization (ISP) towards the SN direction which is found to be $P_{ISP}$ = 0.17 $\pm$ 0.02 per cent and $\theta_{ISP}$ = 140$^{\circ}$ $\pm$ 3$^{\circ}$. To extract the intrinsic polarization of SN 2017hcc, both the observed and the literature polarization measurements were corrected for ISP. We noticed a significant decline of $\sim$3.5 per cent ($V$-band) in the intrinsic level of polarization spanning a period of $\sim$2 months. In contrast, the intrinsic polarization angles remain nearly constant at all epochs. Our study indicates a substantial variation in the degree of asymmetry in either the ejecta and/or the surrounding medium of SN 2017hcc. We also estimate a mass-loss rate of $\dot M$ = 0.12 M$_{\odot}$ yr$^{-1}$ (for $v_w$ = 20 km s$^{-1}$) which suggests that the progenitor of SN 2017hcc is most likely a Luminous Blue Variable., Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures, 4 tables, Accepted for publication in MNRAS

We present photometry, polarimetry and spectroscopy of the Type II supernova ASASSN-16ab/SN 2016B in PGC 037392. The photometric and spectroscopic follow-up commenced about two weeks after shock breakout and continued until nearly six months. The light curve of SN 2016B exhibits intermediate properties between those of Type IIP and IIL. The early decline is steep (1.68 $\pm$ 0.10 mag 100 d$^{-1}$), followed by a shallower plateau phase (0.47 $\pm$ 0.24 mag 100 d$^{-1}$). The optically thick phase lasts for 118 d, similar to Type IIP. The $^{56}$Ni mass estimated from the radioactive tail of the bolometric light curve is 0.082 $\pm$ 0.019 M$_\odot$. High velocity component contributing to the absorption trough of H$\alpha$ and H$\beta$ in the photospheric spectra are identified from the spectral modelling from about 57 - 97 d after the outburst, suggesting a possible SN ejecta and circumstellar material interaction. Such high velocity features are common in the spectra of Type IIL supernovae. Wide-field optical surveys have begun to uncover large samples of fast (t_rise < 5d), luminous (M_peak < -18), blue transients. While commonly attributed to the breakout of a supernova shock into a dense wind, the great distances to the transients of this class found so far have hampered detailed investigation of their properties. We present photometry and spectroscopy from a comprehensive worldwide campaign to observe AT2018cow (ATLAS18qqn), the first fast-luminous optical transient to be found in real time at low redshift. Our first spectra (10 days. MASTER OT J120451.50+265946.6 (M12045), discovered by the MASTER Global Robotic Net, is a Type Ib supernova (SN) that exploded in NGC 4080. We present the {\it BVRI} photometric and spectroscopic observations upto $\sim$250 days since $B_{max}$. At the time of discovery the SN was a few weeks past maximum light and our observations capture the linearly declining light curve phase. M12045 declines faster as compared to SNe 1999dn and 2009jf at comparable epochs. Rigorous spectroscopic monitoring reveals that M12045 is a normal Type Ib SN. The analysis of the nebular phase spectra indicates that $\sim$ 0.90 M$_\odot$ of O is ejected in the explosion. The line ratio of [\ion{O}{I}] and [\ion{Ca}{II}] in the nebular phase supports a massive WR progenitor with main sequence mass of $\sim$ 20 M$_\odot$., Comment: 16 pages, 6 tables, 12 figures, Accepted for publication in MNRAS

We report on the catastrophic disintegration of P/2016 G1 (PANSTARRS), an active asteroid, in April 2016. Deep images over three months show that the object is made up of a central concentration of fragments surrounded by an elongated coma, and presents previously unreported sharp arc-like and narrow linear features. The morphology and evolution of these characteristics independently point toward a brief event on 2016 March 6. The arc and the linear feature can be reproduced by large particles on a ring, moving at ~2.5 m s−1. The expansion of the ring defines a cone with a ~40° half-opening. We propose that the P/2016 G1 was hit by a small object which caused its (partial or total) disruption, and that the ring corresponds to large fragments ejected during the final stages of the crater formation.

The optical and ultra-violet broadband photometric and spectroscopic observations of the Type II supernova (SN) 2016gfy are presented. The $V$-band light curve (LC) shows a distinct plateau phase with a slope, $s_2$ $\sim$ 0.12 mag / 100 d and a duration of 90 $\pm$ 5 d. Detailed analysis of SN 2016gfy provided a mean $\rm^{56}Ni$ mass of 0.033 $\pm$ 0.003 $\rm M_{\odot}$, a progenitor radius of $\sim$ 350-700 $\rm R_{\odot}$, a progenitor mass of $\sim$ 12-15 $\rm M_{\odot}$ and an explosion energy of 0.9-1.4$\rm \times 10^{51}\ erg\ s^{-1}$. The P-Cygni profile of H$\rm \alpha$ in the early phase spectra ($\sim$ 11-21 d) shows a boxy emission. Assuming that this profile arises from the interaction of the SN ejecta with the pre-existing circumstellar material (CSM), it is inferred that the progenitor underwent a recent episode (30-80 years prior to the explosion) of enhanced mass loss. Numerical modeling suggests that the early LC peak is reproduced better with an existing CSM of 0.15 $\rm M_{\odot}$ spread out to $\sim$ 70 AU. A late-plateau bump is seen in the $VRI$ LCs during $\sim$ 50-95 d. This bump is explained as a result of the CSM interaction and/or partial mixing of radioactive $\rm ^{56}Ni$ in the SN ejecta. Using strong-line diagnostics, a sub-solar oxygen abundance is estimated for the supernova H II region (12 + log(O/H) = 8.50 $\pm$ 0.11), indicating an average metallicity for the host of a Type II SN. A star formation rate of $\sim$ 8.5 $\rm M_{\odot}\ yr^{-1}$ is estimated for NGC 2276 using the archival $GALEX$ FUV data., Comment: 30 pages, 25 figures, Accepted for publication in ApJ
