Search

A selection of the most recent CDF and D0 results in the top quark sector is presented. The most recent top quark mass measurements, including the pole mass determination obtained from cross section measurements, are discussed. The Tevatron combined $t{\bar{t}}$ charge asymmetry results are shown. The recent top quark polarization measurements are reviewed.

We present the current status of the rare decay searches of B ( s ) 0 → μ + μ − , B → μ + μ − h , D + → π + μ + μ − and B ( s ) 0 → h + h ′ − at the Tevatron Collider. We also report about the latest results on CP Violation for B 0 and B s 0 decay modes into pairs of charmless charged hadrons (pions and kaons).

Searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson at the Tevatron are reviewed. The CDF and DO experiments have now analysed datasets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 1 fb −1 , with searches in different Higgs production and decay modes giving sensitivity over a range of possible Higgs masses. These different analyses and current limits on Higgs production at the Tevatron are described, along with the prospects for ongoing searches based on larger datasets.

Recent results on heavy flavor production from the CDF and DO experiments at the Tevatron are reported, using up to 1 fb −1 of accumulated luminosity per experiment. The first observation of resonant Λ b 0 π states, consistent with the lowest-lying charged Σ b states, is announced. Measurements are made of the B hadron relative fragmentation fractions and production cross sections of the B+ and ϒ ( 1 S ) . An upper limit for the production cross section of η b → J / ψ J / ψ is also set.

We present recent results on B s 0 lifetime difference obtained from the analysis of data collected at the Tevatron Collider Run II by the CDF and DO Collaborations during the period 2002 – 2004, corresponding to 260–450 pb −1 .

We report Tevatron results on the B c − meson in Run II. The B c − meson has been observed in semileptonic decays, B c − → J / ψ l − ν X , by both the CDF and DO collaborations at a significance greater than 5 σ . For DO, the candidate B c − → J / ψ μ − X events are used to extract measurements of the mass and lifetime of the B c − meson. For CDF, the B c − → J / ψ l − ν X observations have resulted in measurements of the relative production times branching ratio with respect to B − → J / ψ K − decays and a precise determination of the lifetime of the B c − : c τ ( B c − ) = 0.474 −0.066 +0.073 ± 0.033 ps . Also for CDF, an observation of B c − → J / ψ π − decays at a significance exceeding 6 σ results in a precise determination of the mass of the B c − : M ( B c − ) = 6275.2 ± 4.3 ± 2.3 MeV / c 2 .

We present some recent measurements on electroweak physics obtained by the CDF and DO experiments analyzing data collected at the Tevatron proton anti‐proton Collider in Run II.

The search for Supersymmetry is of highest priority for the physics programs of the LHC and Tevatron experiments. The top quark plays an important role in this quest, both as a dominant background and as a key signature for the signal, in particular in the decay of third generation squarks. We review the latest status of the interplay of top quark and SUSY at hadron colliders.

Since the discovery of the top-quark at the Tevatron collider in 1995, enormous efforts have been devoted to the precise determination of its properties and in particular of its mass, mtop. Together with precision electroweak measurements, mtop can be used to check the Higgs boson mass (mH) dependencies on mtop and the W boson mass (mW) within the Standard Model, and to constrain the allowed mass range for heavy particles predicted by Standard Model extensions. In this paper a review of the current experimental and theoretical uncertainties affecting the top-quark mass measurements at the Tevatron and the LHC is provided: strategies and techniques adopted to evaluate the main systematic uncertainties within the various experiments are summarised and compared, highlighting, when appropriate, complementarities and differences which are important ingredients to set the basis of a future world mtop combination.

The importance of the precise measurement of the top-quark mass (and W-boson mass) origin in possibility to predict the mass of the Higgs boson. The top-quark mass has been measured by the CDF and DO experiments in many channels using different methods. The most precise measurement is still the Tevatron combination using the collected data with integrated luminosity of up to 5.8fb−1. The determined mass value is 173.18 ± 0.56(stat)±0.75(syst) GeV or 173.18 ± 0.94 GeV, what gives a precision of ±0.54%. However this article also reports the results using the full datasets, which are not included in the combination. In addition, the measurement of the mass difference of top and anti-top quarks is present showing the difference of 1.95 ± 1.26 GeV.

We present the latest measurements of the cross section of the production of the top quark in t pairs from p collisions at = 1.96 TeV. Measurements are performed using up to 9.1 fb−1 of data collected by the CDF and DO experiments at the Tevatron. The first combination of measurements from the two experiments is presented. From six different measurements, the cross section is measured to be .

Recent B-Physics results from the CDF and DO experiments at the Tevatron are described, with emphasis on rare decays and searches for CP violation.

A summary of the latest results of Standard Model Higgs boson searches from CDF and DO analyses using up to 3.0 fb_1 of Tevatron data are reviewed. 95% C.L. upper limits on Higgs boson production are shown for Higgs masses ranging from 100 to 200 GeV.
