This article describes BabyIAXO, an intermediate experimental stage of the International Axion Observatory (IAXO), proposed to be sited at DESY. IAXO is a large-scale axion helioscope that will look for axions and axion-like particles (ALPs), produced in the Sun, with unprecedented sensitivity. BabyIAXO is conceived to test all IAXO subsystems (magnet, optics and detectors) at a relevant scale for the final system and thus serve as prototype for IAXO, but at the same time as a fully-fledged helioscope with relevant physics reach itself, and with potential for discovery. The BabyIAXO magnet will feature two 10 m long, 70 cm diameter bores, and will host two detection lines (optics and detector) of dimensions similar to the final ones foreseen for IAXO. BabyIAXO will detect or reject solar axions or ALPs with axion-photon couplings down to $g_{a\gamma} \sim 1.5 \times 10^{-11}$ GeV$^{-1}$, and masses up to $m_a\sim 0.25$ eV. BabyIAXO will offer additional opportunities for axion research in view of IAXO, like the development of precision x-ray detectors to identify particular spectral features in the solar axion spectrum, and the implementation of radiofrequency-cavity-based axion dark matter setups., Comment: 77 pages, 49 figures. Plants can tolerate some degree of dehydration but below a threshold of water content most plants die. However, some species display specific physiological, biochemical, and molecular responses that allow survival to desiccation. Some of these responses are activated at critical stages during water loss and could represent the difference between desiccation tolerance (DT) and death. Here, we report the development of a simple and reproducible system to determine DT in Selaginella species. This system is based on the use of excised tissue (explants), exposed to a dehydration agent inside small containers, rather than whole plants making it faster, better controlled, and potential use under field conditions. We also report that the triphenyltetrazolium chloride test is a simple and accurate assay to determine tissue viability. The explant system is particularly useful to identify critical points during the dehydration process and was applied to identify novel desiccation-tolerant Selaginella species. Our data suggest that desiccation-sensitive Selaginella species have a change in viability when dehydrated to 40% RWC, indicating the onset of a critical condition at this water content. Comparative studies at these critical stages could provide a better understanding of DT mechanisms and unravel insights into the key responses to survive desiccation.HighlightIn this article, we developed a simple and efficient system to determine desiccation tolerance and critical stages during the dehydration process in Selaginella that can be applied to other plant species.

- Abstract
Axions are a natural consequence of the Peccei-Quinn mechanism, the most compelling solution to the strong-CP problem. Similar axion-like particles (ALPs) also appear in a number of possible extensions of the Standard Model, notably in string theories. Both axions and ALPs are very well motivated candidates for Dark Matter, and in addition, they would be copiously produced at the sun’s core. A relevant effort during the last decade has been the CAST experiment at CERN, the most sensitive axion helioscope to-date. The International Axion Observatory (IAXO) is a large-scale 4th generation helioscope. As its primary physics goal, IAXO will look for solar axions or ALPs with a signal to background ratio of about 5 orders of magnitude higher than CAST. Recently the IAXO collaboration has proposed and intermediate experimental stage, BabyIAXO, conceived to test all IAXO subsystems (magnet, optics, detectors and sun-tracking systems) at a relevant scale for the final system and thus serve as pathfinder for IAXO but at the same time as a fully-fledged helioscope with record and relevant physics reach in itself with potential for discovery. BabyIAXO was endorsed by the Physics Review committee of DESY last May 2019. Here we will review the status and prospects of BabyIAXO and its potential to probe the most physics motivated regions of the axion & ALPs parameter space.

Escalas ,Scales ,Trauma - Abstract
In this article we review the development of the mostused scales for severe trauma patients over the past 40 years. It is well known that anatomical scales are effective for measuring the severity of injuries and for predicting results. Physiological scales measure the dynamic component after trauma, with a great influence on the prognosis of injured patients. Metabolic scales, both lactate and base deficit, are reflections of tissue hypoperfusion states and therefore shock. The combined scales are used for prediction and comparative assessment of results. The inclusion of factors that influence the prognosis of trauma patients has led to the development of new scales. However, they lack external validation studies for their widespread use. Until these validation studies are conducted caution should be taken with the use of existing scales

For many years now our research team has been involved in an effort (both theoretical and technological) that can be labeled as an attempt to investigate the notion of cooperation from the 'participation' or 'contribution' perspective. From our perspective, it encompasses a set of situations in which different actors identified or unidentified, ratified or not, distributed in space and time, contribute to a sometimes ill-defined collective goal, using most of the time low-overhead web-based technologies. Doing so, people participate to a collective design that aims at generating a bunch of perpetually moving collective knowledge and decisions submitted to discussion, negotiation and sometimes dismissal. To avoid the design of services as a repeated 'one-shot' process we have gradually built a transverse software infrastructure that can be used in various projects aiming to design participatory services using complex knowledge and cooperations. Thanks to this “non-disposable” infrastructure, the participatory services designed take profit from the scientific outcomes of each previous project.

The relation between response times and mortality of polytrauma patients in the so-called “golden hour” continues to be a subject of debate. The purpose of this study is to determine the variables related to mortality in these patients and the influence of response times of the Emergency Medical Services in this mortality. To this end, the data in the “Major Trauma of Navarre” Register (retrospective cohort of polytrauma patients attended to by the Navarre Health Service) were analyzed for the four year period between 2010 and 2013. Of the 217 trauma cases available for the analysis, 42 (19%) died. No significant association was found in the multivariate analysis between the different response times and mortality: arrival at the scene (odds ratio (OR) 1.0; 95% confidence interval (CI) from 0.99 to 1.01), in the scenario (OR 1.00; 95% CI from 0.98 to 1.02) and total time (OR 1.00; 95% CI from 0.99 to 1.01). The variables that influenced mortality are patient age and severity of injuries measured by the prehospital Triage- Revised Trauma Score (T-RTS) and the New Injury Severity Score (NISS). The mortality of polytrauma patients attended to by the emergency system in our region is influenced by age and by the intensity of the aggression suffered, determined by the prehospital T-RTS and by the NISS. The response times of the hospital do not have a significant influence.

- Abstract
Aflatoxin M1(AFM1) is a pathogenic metabolite often transferred from feed into milk from aflatoxin (AF) B1, B2, G1, and G2; thus, it poses a human health risk. Therefore, effective mitigation strategies are needed to reduce animal and human exposure to AF. Study objectives were to evaluate a dietary adsorbent (Silicoglycidol, ATX) as a sequestering agent in AF contaminated feed and to broadly examine how AF affects liver function and the immune system. Primiparous Holstein cows (n = 12, 279 ± 88 DIM and 675 ± 19 kg BW) were used in a replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design with 21-d periods in which d 1–14 were considered adaptation and data collected on d 15 to 21 were used for analysis. Treatments were: 1) control (CON) consisting of a basal diet; 2) AF diet consisting of CON + AF challenge (100 µg of AFB1/kg dry matter intake [DMI]); and 3) AF + ATX supplemented at 0.10% of dietary DMI. Feed intake and milk yield were recorded daily, fecal samples were collected on d 20 of each period, blood and urine samples were collected on d 21 of each period, and milk samples were collected on the last 2 d of each period. Data were analyzed using the MIXED procedure of SAS. Milk yield and DMI were unaffected by treatment (26.8 ± 1.3 kg/d and 24.0 ± 0.9 kg/d, respectively). Similarly, neither milk composition nor DMI digestibility were affected by treatment. No AFM1was detected in CON cow's milk or urine. Supplementing ATX reduced AFM1in milk (1.57 vs. 1.14 ± 0.1 µg/L for AF and AF+ATX, respectively) and urine (9.9 vs. 5.6 ± 1.1 µg/L for AF and AF+ATX, respectively). Consuming AF did not affect biomarkers of liver health or immune activation including ALT, AST, GGT, haptoglobin (Hp), and immunoglobulin G (IgG). In summary, feeding ATX reduced the absorption and transfer of dietary AF to milk and urine.

PV - A MAJOR ELECTRICITY SOURCE ,PV in the Electricity Markets - Abstract
28th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 4773-4782, Islands, as isolated territories usually far from the mainland, have extra costs compared to continental areas in their access to conventional energy sources. In spite of the fact that islands are hardly ever granted with this kind of energy, depending on the site, they normally have plenty of renewable energy resources. In this work, photovoltaic systems integration on islands is analysed from the residential viewpoint, taking into account some examples of regulations in force on some islands, as well as in discussion for their implementation in the near future, the goal is to investigate the economics of the results for different combinations with regard to existing conventional generation, together with the achievement of certain percentages of photovoltaic energy penetration, also considering some aspects in the optimisation of their electrical energy management as a whole. In this way, considering a base case of a typical residential load in a hypothetical island, sensitivity studies using the HOMER software package are performed to analyse different scenarios that may arise in islands around the world, mainly regarding economics in photovoltaic systems integration. General conclusions are reached for a comparative analysis of the considered scenarios.
