The paper presents the research results concerning the chromium-nickel-molybdenum duplex cast steel GX2CrNiMoCuN 25-6-3-3 grade. The aim of studies was the description of the influence of hyperquenching temperature Tp i.e. 1100, 1125 and 1150℃ on microstructure and mainly mechanical properties i.e. tensile strength UTS, yield strength YS, hardness HB, elongation EL and impact energy KV of duplex cast steel GX2CrNiMoCuN 25-6-3-3 grade. The range of studies included ten melts which were conducted in foundry GZUT S.A. Based on the obtained results was confirmed that application of hyperquenching process guarantees the elimination of brittle s phase in the microstructure of studied duplex cast steel. Moreover on the basis of conducted statistical analysis of the researches results is concluded that with the decrease in hyperquenching temperature increases ductility and amount of austenite, while decreases strength and amount of ferrite in studied duplex cast steel GX2CrNiMoCuN 25-6-3-3 grade.

The Review summarizes much of particle physics and cosmology. Using data from previous editions, plus 2,717 new measurements from 869 papers, we list, evaluate, and average measured properties of gauge bosons and the recently discovered Higgs boson, leptons, quarks, mesons, and baryons. We summarize searches for hypothetical particles such as supersymmetric particles, heavy bosons, axions, dark photons, etc. Particle properties and search limits are listed in Summary Tables. We give numerous tables, figures, formulae, and reviews of topics such as Higgs Boson Physics, Supersymmetry, Grand Unified Theories, Neutrino Mixing, Dark Energy, Dark Matter, Cosmology, Particle Detectors, Colliders, Probability and Statistics. Most of the 120 reviews are updated, including many that are heavily revised. The Review is divided into two volumes. Volume 1 includes the Summary Tables and 97 review articles. Volume 2 consists of the Particle Listings and contains also 23 reviews that address specific aspects of the data presented in the Listings. The complete Review (both volumes) is published online on the website of the Particle Data Group (pdg.lbl.gov) and in a journal. Volume 1 is available in print as the PDG Book. Summary: Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the scarcity of resources has necessitated triage of critical care for patients with the disease. In patients aged 65 years and older, triage decisions are regularly based on degree of frailty measured by the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS). However, the CFS could also be useful in patients younger than 65 years. We aimed to examine the association between CFS score and hospital mortality and between CFS score and admission to intensive care in adult patients of all ages with COVID-19 across Europe. Methods: This analysis was part of the COVID Medication (COMET) study, an international, multicentre, retrospective observational cohort study in 63 hospitals in 11 countries in Europe. Eligible patients were aged 18 years and older, had been admitted to hospital, and either tested positive by PCR for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) or were judged to have a high clinical likelihood of having SARS-CoV-2 infection by the local COVID-19 expert team. CFS was used to assess level of frailty: fit (CFS1–3), mildly frail (CFS4–5), or frail (CFS6–9). The primary outcome was hospital mortality. The secondary outcome was admission to intensive care. Data were analysed using a multivariable binary logistic regression model adjusted for covariates (age, sex, number of drugs prescribed, and type of drug class as a proxy for comorbidities). Findings: Between March 30 and July 15, 2020, 2434 patients (median age 68 years [IQR 55–77]; 1480 [61%] men, 954 [30%] women) had CFS scores available and were included in the analyses. A microRNA (miRNA) nanomedicine PEG-PEI/miR-221/222 was synthesized based on PEGylated polyethylenimine PEG-PEI and used to transfect prostate cancer cells (PC-3) in vitro. Gel retardation assay confirmed the formation of nanomedicine, of which the zeta potential and particle size were determined by dynamic light scattering. Its cytotoxicity was analyzed by CCK-8 assay-while its transfection efficiency was analyzed by flow cytometry. Cell uptake and intracellular distribution of nanoparticles were evaluated using laser confocal microscopy. RT-PCR and western-blot assays were conducted to verify the regulation of SIRT1 target gene. We found that the properties of the nanocomplexes of miRNA and PEG-PEI depended on N/P ratios. At higher N/P ratio, accompanied by higher zeta potential and higher cytotoxicity, PEG-PEI is needed to completely condense the miRNA into small particles with uniform size distribution. Under an N/P ratio of 20, high transfection efficiency and low carrier cytotoxicity were obtained simultaneously in PC-3 cells in vitro. Consequently, the SIRT1 expression was up-regulated due to the nanoparticle-delivered miR-221/222, which resulted in effective inhibition of PC-3 cells. Our study revealed the PEG-PEI/miR-221/222 nanomedicine as a prospective alternative for treatment of advanced prostate cancer and also lays a foundation for future in vivo investigation.

Summary: Background: Maternal and neonatal mortality is high in Africa, but few large, prospective studies have been done to investigate the risk factors associated with these poor maternal and neonatal outcomes. Methods: A 7-day, international, prospective, observational cohort study was done in patients having caesarean delivery in 183 hospitals across 22 countries in Africa. The inclusion criteria were all consecutive patients (aged ≥18 years) admitted to participating centres having elective and non-elective caesarean delivery during the 7-day study cohort period. To ensure a representative sample, each hospital had to provide data for 90% of the eligible patients during the recruitment week. The primary outcome was in-hospital maternal mortality and complications, which were assessed by local investigators. The study was registered on the South African National Health Research Database, number KZ_2015RP7_22, and on ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT03044899. Findings: Between February, 2016, and May, 2016, 3792 patients were recruited from hospitals across Africa. 3685 were included in the postoperative complications analysis (107 missing data) and 3684 were included in the maternal mortality analysis (108 missing data). These hospitals had a combined number of specialist surgeons, obstetricians, and anaesthetists totalling 0·7 per 100 000 population (IQR 0·2–2·0). Maternal mortality was 20 (0·5%) of 3684 patients (95% CI 0·3–0·8). Complications occurred in 633 (17·4%) of 3636 mothers (16·2–18·6), which were predominantly severe intraoperative and postoperative bleeding (136 [3·8%] of 3612 mothers). Maternal mortality was independently associated with a preoperative presentation of placenta praevia, placental abruption, ruptured uterus, antepartum haemorrhage (odds ratio 4·47 [95% CI 1·46–13·65]), and perioperative severe obstetric haemorrhage (5·87 [1·99–17·34]) or anaesthesia complications (11·47 (1·20–109·20]). Neonatal mortality was 153 (4·4%) of 3506 infants (95% CI 3·7–5·0). Interpretation: Maternal mortality after caesarean delivery in Africa is 50 times higher than that of high-income countries and is driven by peripartum haemorrhage and anaesthesia complications. Neonatal mortality is double the global average. Early identification and appropriate management of mothers at risk of peripartum haemorrhage might improve maternal and neonatal outcomes in Africa. The incidence of disease caused by Botrytis tulipae (Lib.) Lind was studied in selected tulip plantations. Primary and secondary infection, as well as infections of daughter bulbs were observed. The number of affected plants differed according (to the variety, season, and rainfall.

The state of health of lime trees growing in a big-city environment was researched. In the studied trees necrosis, skeletonization, and leaf discoloration were observed. The greatest occurrence of necrosis was observed in tress growing along streets.

Among the four chemicals (fungicides) studied, the safest for the treatment of seeds of 10 different ornamental plants proved to be: Captan suspension 50 and Seed Treatment T.

The disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. tulipae has been observed on 'bud'b coming from different plantations. The number of diseased bulbs depended on the conditions of cultivation, the manner of storing, and the variety. Among the varieties most strongly affected were: Red Giant (up to 70%), Brilliant Star, Blizzard, Cellini, and Prominence.

The article presents measurement stand, which is used to measure polarization and depolarization currents, using PDC method, in wet transformer oil-impregnated cellulose isolation. Maximum resolution of measured currents reaches 10-15 A. The accuracy of thermal stabilization, in three-electrode capacitor system, comes to 0,001 °C.

Paracoccidioidomycosis is a systemic fungal disease with a highly variable distribution, endemic to Central and South America with the highest prevalence in Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. The chronic presentation of the disease is commonly observed in adult men and they manifest with pulmonary and mucocutaneous lesions. We report a fatal case of disseminated paracoccidioidomycosis in a 68-year-old immunocompetent man, with pulmonary, skin, mucosal, and cerebral involvement. Mucocutaneous lesions were decisive for the etiological diagnosis.

Tuberculosis is one of the oldest known diseases and it remains one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality, especially in developing countries. It is associated with social inequalities and affects different age groups. Tuberculosis in children and adolescents should be considered a sentinel event, since it is linked to a recent infection through contact with bacilliferous adults. We report an immunocompetent 15-year-old adolescent with tuberculosis, exhibiting pulmonary, osteoarticular, and cutaneous involvement. Conventional treatment with tuberculostatic drugs for a year had satisfactory results without sequelae.

The object of this study was to determine the effectiveness of some fungicides such as Dithane M-45 (mancozeb) - 0.3%, Plantvax (oxycarboxin) - 0.075%, Saprol (triforine) - 0.1%, Calirus (benodanil) - 0.3%, Bayleton 5 WP (triadimefon) - 0.05%, Baycor (biloxazol) - 0.1%, Vigilex (dichlobutrazol) - 0.04% in the control of chrysanthemum white rust (Puccinia horiana). Tests were conducted in the period 1979-1980. Plants of four varieties were sprayed 8 times weekly. The disease was completely suppressed in the combinations with Plantvax, Saprol, Calirus, Bayleton 5 WP, Baycor and Vigilex. The disease index of Puccinia horiana infection on chrysanthemums was only slightly lower when Dithane M-45 was applied. Plantvax was phytotoxic for all tested varieties, Vigilex suppressed plant growth, treated plants were 3/4 shorter in comparison with plants of all the other combinations.

Background: To control avian coccidiosis with drug-independent strategy effec­tively and safely, multivalent hyperimmune egg yolk immunoglobulin (IgY) was prepared and its ability to protect against Eimeria tenella infection was evaluated.Methods: Hens were orally immunized with live oocysts of 5 species of Eimeria for six times, antibody titers in serum and yolk were monitored by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The specific IgY was isolated, purified and lyophi­lized. IgY powder was orally administrated as dietary supplement in newly hatched chicks at various dosages. Birds were orally challenged with 10000 sporulated oo­cysts of E. tenella at 10 days of age, weighed and killed at 8 days post challenge, and the protective effect was assessed.Results: The averge yeid of IgY was 9.2 mg/ml yolk, the antibody titer of IgY reached to 1:163840 per mg with the purity up to 98%. Chickens fed IgY resulted in reduced mortality, increased body weight gain (BWG), reduced oocyst shedding, reduced caecal lesion score and increased anti-coccidial index. In terms of BWG and caecal lesion, IgY significantly enhanced the resistance of bird at ≥ 0.05% of IgY in the diet when compared with the challenged control group (P0.05).Conclusion: Supplementing newly hatched chicks with Eimeria-specific IgY represents a promising strategy to prevent avian coccidiosis.

Grasslands are characteristic physiognomies of the Brazilian Cerrado domain. One of last remnants of these threatened environments in the state of São Paulo is located in Itirapina Ecological Station, considered as an Important Bird Area (IBA). We investigated bird assemblages that use seasonally flooded grasslands, and predominantly dry grasslands, from August 2010 until July 2011. We focused on aspects of assemblage structure, and possible responses of birds to environmental changes. We recorded 76 species, of which 23.7% are threatened. Some basic aspects of assemblages were similar between environments, such as diversity descriptors, and the tendency of increase richness in the same periods. Other parameters differed between environments, such as absolute richness, recorded monthly (lower in seasonally flooded grasslands). Considering time dimension in analyses, we observed differences in assemblage structure over time, within and between environments. When birds were grouped in guilds, assemblage structure did also differ. We identified significant correlations between the abundance of some guilds and environmental variables. Changes in the availability of resources and microhabitats may affect structure and organization of the studied bird assemblages.Os campos são fisionomias características do domínio do Cerrado no Brasil. Um dos últimos remanescentes destes ambientes ameaçados no Estado de São Paulo está localizado na Estação Ecológica de Itirapina, a qual é considerada uma IBA (Important Bird Area). Foram investigadas as assembleias de aves que utilizaram os campos limpos sazonalmente alagáveis e os campos limpos predominantemente secos, de agosto de 2010 a julho de 2011. Neste estudo, focaram-se aspectos da estrutura das assembleias e possíveis respostas das aves às mudanças ambientais. Foram registradas 76 espécies, das quais 23,7% estão ameaçadas. Alguns aspectos básicos das assembleias foram similares entre os ambientes, como os descritores de diversidade e a tendência de aumento da riqueza durante os mesmos períodos; outros aspectos se distinguiram, como a riqueza absoluta registrada mensalmente (menor nos campos limpos sazonalmente alagáveis). Ao considerar-se a dimensão temporal nas análises, notam-se diferenças na estrutura ao longo do tempo, dentro e entre os ambientes. Quando as aves foram agrupadas em guildas, a estrutura das assembleias também se mostrou diferente. Identificaram-se correlações significativas entre a abundância de algumas guildas e as variáveis ambientais. Mudanças na disponibilidade de recursos e micro-habitats podem afetar a estrutura e a organização das assembleias das aves estudadas.

Echinolaena inflexa (Poir.) Chase is an abundant C3 grass species with high biomass production in the Brazilian savanna (cerrado); Melinis minutiflora Beauv. is an African C4 forage grass widespread in cerrado and probably displacing some native herbaceous species. In the present work, we analysed seasonally the content and composition of soluble carbohydrates, the starch amounts and the above-ground biomass (phytomass) of E. inflexa and M. minutiflora plants harvested in two transects at 5 and 130 m from the border in a restrict area of cerrado at the Biological Reserve and Experimental Station of Mogi-Guaçu (SP, Brazil). Results showed that water soluble carbohydrates and starch amounts from the shoots of both species varied according to the time of the year, whilst in the underground organs, variations were observed mainly in relation to the transects. Marked differences in the pattern of the above-ground biomass production between these two grasses relative to their location in the Reserve were also observed, with two peaks of the invasive species (July and January) at the Reserve border. The differences in carbohydrate accumulation, partitioning and composition of individual sugars concerning time of the year and location in the Reserve were more related to the annual growth cycle of both grasses and possibly to specific physiological responses of M. minutiflora to disturbed environments in the Reserve border.Echinolaena inflexa (Poir.) Chase é uma gramínea C3 muito abundante em áreas de cerrado e com alta produção de biomassa. Melinis minutiflora Beauv. é uma gramínea C4 de origem africana introduzida no Brasil para fins forrageiros, que se espalhou amplamente por áreas de cerrado, provavelmente deslocando espécies nativas. No presente trabalho, o conteúdo e a composição de carboidratos solúveis, o teor de amido e a biomassa aérea foram analisados sazonalmente em plantas de E. inflexa e M. minutiflora coletadas em dois transectos, a 5 e 130 m da borda da Reserva Biológica e Estação Experimental de Mogi-Guaçu, uma área restrita de cerrado (SP, Brasil). Os resultados mostraram que os carboidratos solúveis e o conteúdo de amido da parte aérea de ambas as espécies variaram de acordo com a época do ano, enquanto que nos órgãos subterrâneos as variações foram observadas principalmente em relação aos transectos. Diferenças marcantes no padrão de distribuição de biomassa aérea das duas espécies em relação à localização na reserva também foram observadas, com dois picos de produção da espécie invasora (em julho e janeiro) na borda da reserva. As diferenças observadas no acúmulo de carboidratos, partição e composição dos açúcares em relação à época do ano e localização na reserva foram mais relacionadas ao ciclo anual de crescimento de ambas as espécies e possivelmente a respostas fisiológicas específicas de M. minutiflora a ambientes perturbados na borda da reserva.

Background : Many studies have focused on oxidative stress induced damage and hence, the protective effects conferred by antioxidants. An example is neurodegenerative diseases which is thought to occur due to neuronal loss associated with oxidative stress. However, some antioxidants such as vitamin E have been shown to also exert pro-oxidative effects at high concentration. Objective : In this study the cytotoxicity and neuroprotective potentials of Chlorella vulgaris (CV), Momordica charantia (MC) and Piper betle (PB) were investigated and correlated with the antioxidant potential. Tocotrienol Rich Fraction (TRF) served as positive control since it had been shown previously to have high antioxidant potential as well as to exert neuroprotective and neurocytotoxic effects. Method : Free radical scavenging activities of hot water extract of CV, aqueous extract of MC, aqueous extract of PB and TRF were determined by using DPPH (1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl) assay. Cytotoxicity and neuroprotective effects were measured by using 3 - (4, 5 -dimethylthiazol-2-yl) -5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium salt (MTS) against BSO-induced neuron cell death. Results : Results showed that TRF has the highest radical scavenging activity followed PB> MC> CV. The MTS results showed that TRF (1-50 µg/ml) as positive control, PB (0.001-100µg/ml) and MC (1-500µg/ml) conferred significant protection against BSO-induced cell death. These plants were cytotoxic at high concentrations. However CV extract did not show significant neuroprotective effect against BSO-induced cell death nor cytotoxic effect. Conclusion : The present findings showed that plant extracts with the higher free radical scavenging activity showed neuroprotective effects at low concentrations but were cytotoxic at higher concentrations.

This paper discusses calibration uncertainty and linearity issues of the typical back-pressure air gauge. In this sort of air gauge, the correlation between the measured dimension (represented by the slot width) and the air pressure in the measuring chamber is used in a proportional range. However, when high linearity is required (e.g., nonlinearity less than 1%), the measuring range should be shortened. In the proposed method, based on knowledge of the static characteristics of air gauges, the measuring range is kept unchanged but the nonlinearity is decreased. The static characteristics may be separated into two sections, each of them approximated with a different linear function. As a result, the nonlinearity is reduced from 5% down to 1% and even below.

In 1997-2001 health of roots, stem bases and harvested grain of winter wheat and spring barley cultivated in organic and conventional farms in Poland was investigated. More isolates of B. sorokiniana were obtained from spring barley in the organic farm and Fusarium spp. in the conventional farm. Results of winter wheat health estimation were not clear. In the end of cropping season higher mean disease index for roots was observed in organic farm, and for stem bases the relation was opposite. The main casual agents were Fusarium spp. Their higher occurrence was observed on roots, stem bases and also on grain in the organic farm. Furthermore, organic farm conditions were favourable to Trichoderma spp. development and conventional one to Penicillium spp.

Results of NaCl treatment of African catfish culture are presented. The study was composed of four experiments carried out in different developmental stages of the investigated species, from egg to fry. No positive effect of sodium chloride on egg incubation nor hatch rearing was stated. The highest survival of embryos and hatch was recorded in the control group. Good results were obtained in the rearing of fry. In the first experiment with 5‰ concentration of salt the survival and growth were better than in the control group. Also in the second experiment in alternatives with increased concentrations, the results were better then in the control group, nevertheless the differences were statistically non-significant.

The synthesis of three new heteroditopic receptors (5a-c) which are based on thiacalix[4]arenes in the 1,3-alternate conformation is reported herein. These new receptors each have two thiourea moieties linking phenyl groups, two of which are substituted with electron-withdrawing groups at their para-positions, and at the opposite side of the thiacalix[4]arene cavity, with two 2-pyridylmethyl groups. One example (5a) was also characterized by X-ray crystallography. A limited 1H-NMR and UV-vis anion complexation study was conducted. DFT computational determinations indicated that 5c, which has strongly electron-withdrawing NO2 groups, had the most effective recognition ability towards the selected anions. The binding of Ag+ at the 2-pyridyl moieties, and the binding of the anions at the two thiourea NH groups of the p-substituted phenylthioureido moieties, respectively, was also investigated. The appearance of a positive allosteric effect with receptor 5b was also found using 1H-NMR titration experiments.

BACKGROUND:While increased levels of circulating inflammatory cytokines in chronologically aged humans have been linked to the development of ageing-associated chronic disorders (e.g., cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, osteoporosis and Alzheimer's disease), approaches that reduce circulating cytokines are not yet available. In chronologically aged mice, we recently demonstrated that epidermal dysfunction largely accounts for age-associated elevations in circulating cytokine levels, and that improving epidermal function reduced circulating cytokine levels. OBJECTIVE:We performed a pilot study to determine whether improving epidermal function reduces circulating pro-inflammatory cytokine levels in aged humans. METHODS:Thirty-three aged humans were topically treated twice-daily for 30 days, with ≈ 3 mL of an emollient, previously shown to improve epidermal function, while untreated, aged humans and a cohort of young volunteers served as controls. Changes in epidermal function and levels of three key, age-related, plasma cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6 and TNFα) were measured at baseline and after treatment, using Luminex 200™ system. We present the discovery of PS18kh, a tidal disruption event discovered at the center of SDSS J075654.53+341543.6 (d ≃ 322 Mpc) by the Pan-STARRS Survey for Transients. Our data set includes pre-discovery survey data from Pan-STARRS, the All-sky Automated Survey for Supernovae, and the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System as well as high-cadence, multiwavelength follow-up data from ground-based telescopes and Swift, spanning from 56 days before peak light until 75 days after. The optical/UV emission from PS18kh is well-fit as a blackbody with temperatures ranging from T ≃ 12,000 K to T ≃ 25,000 K and it peaked at a luminosity of L ≃ 8.8 × 1043 erg s-1. PS18kh radiated E = (3.45 ± 0.22) × 1050 erg over the period of observation, with (1.42 ± 0.20) × 1050 erg being released during the rise to peak. Spectra of PS18kh show a changing, boxy/double-peaked Hα emission feature, which becomes more prominent over time. We use models of non-axisymmetric accretion disks to describe the profile of the Hα line and its evolution. We find that at early times the high accretion rate leads the disk to emit a wind which modifies the shape of the line profile and makes it bell-shaped. At late times, the wind becomes optically thin, allowing the non-axisymmetric perturbations to show up in the line profile. The line-emitting portion of the disk extends from r in ∼ 60r g to an outer radius of r out ∼ 1400r g and the perturbations can be represented either as an eccentricity in the outer rings of the disk or as a spiral arm in the inner disk.

The quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) in a magnetic topological insulator system without the need of an external magnetic field becomes of great interest because of its dissipationless spin currents. The proximity effect via a magnetic adlayer is a promising strategy to bring magnetism into a topological insulator (TI) due to its boosted Curie temperature for a realistic application. In this work, a proximity-induced magnetism above 90 K in a TI, (Bi 0.25 Sb 0.75 ) 2 Te 3 , on a ferrimagnetic adlayer with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, thulium-iron-garnet (TIG), was evidenced directly by using magnetic circular dichroism. A competition between exchange couplings with different sublattice-sites was further revealed element-specifically in a temperature-driven spin-reorientation of TI, bringing an issue on magnetic inhomogeneity at the interface, which might cause difficulties in obtaining QAHE in such a TI/TIG bilayer system. Our results prove directly the robust magnetism of TI above liquid nitrogen temperatures and also give a deep insight into the mechanism of interfacial coupling in the proximity effect for the bilayer of TI and magnetic oxide, which could be essential for the design of a system with QAHE.

We present an exquisite 30 minute cadence Kepler (K2) light curve of the Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) 2018oh (ASASSN-18bt), starting weeks before explosion, covering the moment of explosion and the subsequent rise, and continuing past peak brightness. These data are supplemented by multi-color Panoramic Survey Telescope (Pan-STARRS1) and Rapid Response System 1 and Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory 4 m Dark Energy Camera (CTIO 4-m DECam) observations obtained within hours of explosion. The K2 light curve has an unusual two-component shape, where the flux rises with a steep linear gradient for the first few days, followed by a quadratic rise as seen for typical supernovae (SNe) Ia. This "flux excess" relative to canonical SN Ia behavior is confirmed in our i-band light curve, and furthermore, SN 2018oh is especially blue during the early epochs. The flux excess peaks 2.14 ± 0.04 days after explosion, has a FWHM of 3.12 ± 0.04 days, a blackbody temperature of K, a peak luminosity of , and a total integrated energy of . We compare SN 2018oh to several models that may provide additional heating at early times, including collision with a companion and a shallow concentration of radioactive nickel. While all of these models generally reproduce the early K2 light curve shape, we slightly favor a companion interaction, at a distance of ∼ based on our early color measurements, although the exact distance depends on the uncertain viewing angle. Additional confirmation of a companion interaction in future modeling and observations of SN 2018oh would provide strong support for a single-degenerate progenitor system.
