A novel family of Cosine series Quantum Sampling (QCoSamp) operators appropriate for quantum computing is described. The development of quantum algorithms, analogous to classical algorithms, we apply to the harmonic analysis of signals. We show quantum sampling through measurements of a quantum system, and after operators of the family are applied, allow for input signal mapping with a Fourier series representation. Technical methodologies employed, facilitating the implementation of each QCoSamp algorithm to a quantum computer and application to the field of signal and image processing we also described. We present the novel approach to physical implementation of qubits with the technology of photonic chips. Proposed multi-rail qubit model, called QBell, utilizes hyper-entanglement to work in Decoherence Free Subspace on physical layer. This makes this solution robust and can result in increasing fidelity of quantum circuit used in this model. We elaborate the two-rail case. We define the QBell and discuss its internal structure. We construct also one- and two-qubit gates to make the model comprehensive and ready to implement. Proposed model utilizes the early-stage ideas for optical quantum computation, but by using the polarization and position entanglement as the resource of computation allows to avoid the general problem of them, like heralded photon technique. The technology of photonic chips allows to brake other limitations that are pointed in the text. The presented model was inspired by quantum holographic imaging and uses the holographic technique for implementing the z-rotation operation. The final product will be the photonic quantum processor using multi-rail qubits. It will find the application in many domains (e.g., medical) on earth and in the space.

Computer simulations are one of the pillars of contemporary science. In the current paper we present next type of improvements introduced into GENOME: A rapid coalescent-based whole genome simulator. The modifications are based on parallelization of processes with the use of MPI technology. The influence of introduced modification, has been tested on Ziemowit HPC cluster which is installed in Silesian Biofarma. The monograph is composed of two parts. In Part I, there is a presentation of methodological apparatus used in the research studies described in the dissertation. In particular, the artificial intelligence and population genetics methods are considered. Part II shows how the methods described in Part I are applied in author’s evolutionary genetics studies. These studies are roughly focused in three areas, the theory of neutral evolution, the evolution of humans, and the origin of life.
