Abstract

Background: The study summarizes the findings of the 2018 Chilean Report Card (RC) on Physical Activity (PA) for Children and Adolescents and compares the results with the first Chilean RC and with other countries from the Global Matrix 3.0. Methods: A Research Work Group using a standardized methodology from the Global Matrix 3.0 awarded grades for 13 PA-related indicators based on the percentage of compliance for defined benchmarks. Different public data sets, government reports, and papers informed the indicators. Results: The grades assigned were for (1) "behaviors that contribute to overall PA levels": overall PA, D-; organized sport participation, D-; active play, INC; and active transportation, F; (2) "factors associated with cardiometabolic risk": sedentary behavior, C-; overweight and obesity, F; fitness, D; sleep, INC; and (3) "factors that influence PA": family and peers, F; school, D; inclusion, INC; community and built environment, B; government strategies and investments, B-. Conclusions: Chile's grades remained low compared with the first RC. On the positive side, Chile is advancing in environmental and policy aspects. Our findings indicate that the implementation of new strategies should be developed through collaboration between different sectors to maximize effective investments for increasing PA and decreasing sedentary time among children and adolescents in Chile. La espectroscopía de rotación se dedica a la medición de las energías de transición entre estados rotacionales cuantizados de moléculas en fase gaseosa. Cada molécula tiene unas constantes de rotación características dependientes de su masa y su distribución espacial, lo que nos permite utilizarlo para poder identificarlas en una mezcla. En este trabajo vamos a llevar a cabo la recopilación de las constantes de rotación características experimentales expuestas en la bibliografía y calcular unas teóricas para el resto para poder medir un espectro de rotación completo del aceite de árbol de té y poder conocer su composición química a través de esta técnica., Rotational spectroscopy is dedicated to the measurement of the transition energies between quantized rotational states of molecules in the gas phase. Each molecule has rotation constants depending on its mass and characteristics of each one, therefore, different, which allows us to use it to identify them in a mixture. Abstract

Journal of molecular structure 1252, 132075 (2022). doi:10.1016/j.molstruc.2021.132075, We present here a detailed conformational analysis of menthyl acetate, one of the constituents of peppermint oil (Mentha x piperita L.). Two conformers of menthyl acetate were observed in the broadband rotational spectrum in the 2-12 GHz frequency range. The structure of the lowest energy conformer was obtained from experiment based on the assignment of the singly-substituted $^{13}$C-isotopologues. Additionally, the internal dynamics of the methyl top of the acetyl side group was characterized. The experimentally determined barrier height of 1.1830750(40) kJ/mol is in line with previous rotational spectroscopy results for other acetates, for which barrier heights on the order of 1 kJ/mol were reported., Published by Elsevier, New York, NY [u.a.]

Abstract

Physical chemistry, chemical physics 20(8), 5545 - 5552 (2018). doi:10.1039/C7CP06518C, Prebiotic hydantoin and its complexes with one and two water molecules are investigated using high-resolution broadband rotational spectroscopy in the 2–8 GHz frequency range. The hyperfine structure due to the nuclear quadrupole coupling of the two $^{14}$N atoms is analysed for the monomer and the complexes. This characteristic hyperfine structure will support a definitive assignment from low frequency radioastronomy data. Experiments with H$_2^{18}$O provide accurate experimental information on the preferred binding sites of water, which are compared with quantum-chemically calculated coordinates. In the 2-water complexes, the water molecules bind to hydantoin as a dimer instead of individually, indicating the strong water–water interactions.
