This text addresses one of the questions not yet resolved in the training of science communicators: What may be the most appropriate method to communicate multidisciplinary issues, attending to the requirement that the products of public communication of science (CPC) contain science, that is, that they handle not only data and results but also the reasoning and arguments based on empirical evidence necessary to arrive at scientific explanations. To propose how to approach CPC in this case, we used the idea of “paradigm” and the differences between its four main types: positivist, hermeneutic, realist and interactionist; we try to show the usefulness they have to frame the communication of multidisciplinary issues, since all of them allow different approaches to know different aspects of reality.
