Abstract

Son numerosos los estudios que señalan la importancia de las salidas al medio natural en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la Biología y Geología. Sin embargo, apenas hay estudios centrados en el domínio cognitivo y afectivo de los profesores, y muchos menos durante su formación. Estudiamos la mejora que estas actividades suponen en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de estos temas según la opinión de profesores en formación de secundaria. Analizamos 134 refl exiones individuales de profesores en formación, 82 de primaria y 52 de secundaria. Los profesores en formación señalaron que las salidas al medio natural suponen para el alumno una mejora en el dominio afectivo, en el cognitivo y en las competencias transversales. El 95,52% señalaron que las salidas al medio natural generaban mejoras en el plano cognitivo. Este porcentaje es más alto en los futuros docentes mujeres que en los hombres (98,97% vs. 86,49%), las diferencias fueron significativas. No se detectaron diferencias significativas en cuanto a los estudios de los profesores. Actualmente cuando domina una visión negativa de las ciencias entre el alumnado es importante el papel de estas actividades. Por tanto es necesario trabajar estas salidas al medio natural en profesores en formación pues juegan un papel fundamental en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de estas asignaturas., Indagatio Didactica, vol. 6 n.º 3 (2014)

Abstract

La alimentación y nutrición infantil constituye una de las áreas de mayor importancia dentro de la Educación para la Salud (EpS). Esta acción promotora de la salud debe iniciarse en la fase temprana del desarrollo y aprendizaje, como es la etapa preescolar. Una valiosa herramienta para iniciar la EpS es la alimentación infantil, la cual puede y debe ser abordada en el ámbito educativo. Por ello, nuestro objetivo de investigación fue recoger, de los principales manuales de nutrición españoles, las características básicas, nutricionales, de la etapa de 2 a 6 años, para ser utilizado por personal docente no sanitario en el ámbito escolar. Mediante análisis de revisión bibliográfica documentada, referente a las características nutricionales de esta etapa de crecimiento. Los resultados indican que las Recomendaciones Diarias Alimenticias (RDA) a partir de los 2 años son muy diferentes respecto a la etapa de lactante, el aporte se balancea hacía los carbohidratos en un 50%, en decremento de grasas

12. Identifying new buffer areas for conserving waterbirds in the Mediterranean basin: the importance of the rice fields in Extremadura, Spain.

Abstract

The impact of wetland loss on migratory waterbirds can be mitigated by the presence of anthropogenic habitats such as rice fields. In the Mediterranean basin, wetlands have been drained and altered to such a degree that their very existence is threatened. It is, therefore, essential to identify key buffer areas in the basin to develop conservation strategies for migratory waterbirds. In Extremadura, continental SW Spain, 30,000 ha of new rice fields have created since the 1960s. The present study describes for the first time the waterbird community associated with these inland rice fields, and addresses the question of the potential value of this area in buffering the loss of natural wetlands for populations of waterbirds using the East Atlantic Flyway (EAF). The waterbird community studied consisted of 45 species, with population levels reaching values of international importance (>1% of the biogeographical population using EAF) for the Common Crane Grus grus (19%), Black-tailed Godwit Limosa limosa (1.2%), Black-winged Stilt Himantopus himantopus (1.2%), and Cattle Egret Bubulcus ibis (1%). The presence of these rice fields may be modifying the wintering and/or feeding sites of some waterbird species such as the Common Crane and Black-tailed Godwit. Unfortunately, there is no legal protection for this area. We propose the designation of these rice fields as a Special Protection Area for birds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

17. Improving the self-regulation in prospective science teachers: the case of the calculus of the period of a simple pendulum.

Abstract

This paper addresses the need to perform laboratory activities in secondary education science subjects, and what prospective science teachers feel while they themselves are doing these activities in their initial training. A laboratory activity based on the calculation of the oscillation period of a simple pendulum was done with 12 prospective teachers at the University of Extremadura, who were specializing in Biology/Geology, Physics/Chemistry, and Mathematics. When they had finished the activity they filled out a questionnaire about the difficulty, reasoning, capability, and emotions they had experienced in each of the stages needed to resolve the problem. The results showed how, as they go developing the stages of scientific methods, prospective teachers improve their reasoning and capability, and change negative emotions into positive ones, ending with being able to solve the problem on their own., (© 2019 The Authors.)
