Objectives: to validate the content and appearance of a booklet to promote the health of people with diabetes mellitus in the face of COVID-19., Methods: a methodological study, carried out in a virtual environment with experts who had practical and scientific experience in diabetes mellitus, from November 2021 to February 2022. Data were analyzed using the Content Validity Ratio., Results: twenty-seven experts from different states of Brazil and with different academic backgrounds participated in the study. In content validity, reviews were suggested in items in relation to objectives and structure, in appearance validity, adjustments in layout were suggested., Conclusions: the results showed that the booklet achieved adequate content and appearance validity rates. Therefore, when adapting to experts' suggestions, it becomes an accurate tool.

Objective: to verify the validity of indicators' content referring to the instrument for data collection in children aged 0 to 5 years hospitalized in a pediatric clinic., Method: a cross-sectional methodological study was carried out with 11 experts between January and May 2018. For data collection, the steps for validating the instrument's content were respected. For data analysis, Content Validity Index and Kappa agreement analysis were used., Results: after content analysis, a Content Validity Index of 0.94 and Kappa 0.71 was issued according to the experts' suggestions 81.9%. Therefore, the instrument was suitable for applicability., Conclusion: the instrument proved to be valid in terms of content for pediatric care, contributing significantly to improving care for hospitalized children aged 0 to 5 years.

Objectives: to associate pleasure and suffering indicators with aspects related to nursing work in hospitals., Methods: This is a cross-sectional quantitative study conducted with 152 nurses from a university hospital in the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba State, Brazil. Data were collected through interviews, using a tool to obtain sociodemographic data, work characteristics and the Pleasure and Suffering Indicators at Work Scale., Results: pleasure living and its domains were rated as satisfactory, while suffering factors and their domains were critically assessed. Statistically significant associations were observed among pleasure and suffering indicators, and some characteristics of nurses' work., Conclusions: it was evidenced that nurses had critical levels of suffering at work associated with their work practice characteristics.

Objective: Describe the construct validation process of the instrument "Nursing care for the assessment, prevention and treatment of cutaneous xerosis in the elderly"., Method: Methodological study carried out with 101 nurses in four hospitals in the great João Pessoa, between July and September 2018. Construct validation was performed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, in addition to the consistency check by Cronbach's alpha., Results: Through the factorial analysis, three factors of the instrument construct were defined: treatment performed for cutaneous xerosis, preventive care for cutaneous xerosis and skin evaluation, with a total explanation variance of 47.77%. In Bartlett's sphericity test, p <0.001 was obtained, and the general Cronbach's alpha was 0.811., Conclusion: The instrument proved to be valid and reliable, contributing to the training and practice of nurses as an integral part in the process of caring for the elderly.

Objective: To analyze the concept of Meaningful Learning, according to David Ausubel's Theory., Method: Integrative review using the Meleis's Theoretical Analysis model., Results: The following were identified as antecedents: Previous students' knowledge, potentially meaningful instructional material and student's willingness to learn. The attributes found were: Existence of previous knowledge that allows the connection with the new knowledge; interaction of previous and new knowledge in the cognitive structure; expansion of the cognitive structure through the incorporation of prior knowledge with the new. The consequent ones found: Existence of new knowledge in the cognitive structure of the student, that generate sense and meaning in the cognitive system of the student and that confers importance to him according to the utility for his daily life., Conclusion: The conceptual analysis carried out contributed to the establishment of a more complete definition for Meaningful Learning, which can be appreciated in teaching and research, regardless of the area of activity.

Hansen's disease is probably the human disease that causes more damage. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the occurrence of the association of grade 1 and 2 physical disabilities in Hansen's disease, as well as implications of joint analysis and strength of association with independent demographic and clinical variables. This is a quantitative, descriptive, retrospective, population-based and documentary study developed from 2009 to 2014 in a Hansen's disease reference center in Joao Pessoa, PB. It involved 414 medical records, the diagnosis and discharge data on socio-demographic, clinical and simplified neurological evaluation variables. Data were analyzed using descriptive (absolute frequency and percentage) and inferential (Chi-Square and Prevalence Ratio (PR) statistics techniques. Both in the diagnosis and discharge, low education level, multibacillary classification and presence of affected nerves were statistically associated to the development of disabilities (p <0.05). The gender showed association only at discharge (p <0.05). Male gender, low education level, multibacillary classification and presence of affected nerves were identified as factors associated with the development of disabilities, and the individuals were more likely to develop disabilities at discharge. There is a need for development of surveillance actions for the population group identified for the detection and early treatment of the disease. Higher chances of developing disabilities in the discharge period makes the promotion of guidelines that standardize the care of these individuals imperative.

Objective: To characterize the profile of users at risk of developing diabetes mellitus type 2 according to sociodemographic and clinical variables., Method: Cross-sectional study, descriptive, quantitative approach conducted with 266 users of Basic Care. Inferential statistics analysis, calculating the crude prevalence ratio with confidence interval of 95% and Kruskal-Wallis test, and application of the multivariate technique simple Correspondence Analysis., Results: It was noted that 83.1% were women and 36.4% frequented the Family Health Unit from 1 to 5 years. Regarding the factors associated with diabetes mellitus type 2, 66.5% of the users were overweight and 77.9% were rated with central obesity. The great majority, 77.4%, did not practice physical activities and 21.1% had altered glycemia., Conclusion: The results showed that many risk factors for developing diabetes mellitus type 2 were among the population of the study.
