Background: A new water‐soluble formulation with ciclopirox has shown a higher penetration than other ciclopirox nail lacquers currently marketed, thus providing a higher concentration of ciclopirox into the nail. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a new ciclopirox nail hydrolacquer compared with its vehicle and an active comparator (hydroxypropyl chitosan‐based 80 mg/g ciclopirox nail lacquer) for the treatment of toenail fungal infection. Methods: Phase III, multicenter, randomised, double‐blind, clinical trial in patients with distal mild to moderate toenail onychomycosis due to dermatophyte fungi. Patients were randomised to apply topically a ciclopirox nail hydrolacquer, its vehicle or a reference product once daily for 48 weeks with a follow‐up period of 4 weeks up to week 52. Results: A total of 381 patients were included. No statistically significant differences were observed between patient groups in the proportion of subjects achieving a complete cure. At week 52, a higher percentage of patients in the ciclopirox nail hydrolacquer group achieved a mycological cure (negative for culture and DTS/KOH test, with results: 32.0% ciclopirox nail hydrolacquer, 23.2% vehicle and 27% reference product, respectively), and similar results were found for improvement (mycological cure and reduction of diseased nail ≥20%, with results: 27.2% ciclopirox nail hydrolacquer, 21.6% vehicle and 20.6% reference product, respectively). Regarding mycological results, only ciclopirox nail hydrolacquer demonstrated significant statistical superiority versus vehicle negativizing dermatophyte culture (p =.039) with no recurrences, relapses or re‐infections in a four‐week follow‐up patients with complete cure. The safety profile was comparable to the vehicle and reference product and consistent with the previously reported. Conclusions: A new water‐soluble formulation for a ciclopirox nail lacquer showed similar efficacy to the reference product to eradicate toenail onychomycosis and superiority in the mycological cure defined by negative culture, thus preventing reinfections and recurrences. Efficacy and safety data demonstrate the positive benefit–risk profile of this new topical antifungal preparation. - Abstract
This intervention project raises the proposal for a tourism development plan for the parish of San Pedro de Quingeo in the province of Azuay. The work is part of a territorial situation analysis and bibliographic review from different sources. In addition, there are supply and demand studies of San Pedro de Quingeo parish, where an inventory update of tourist attractions is proposed with the methodology for attractions hierarchy and generation of tourist spaces of Ecuador 2018 by the Ministry of Tourism. Based on the demand study, the typology of tourism most suitable for the study area is proposed. Finally, with the information gathered throughout the project and using participatory methodologies, a portfolio of programs and projects is proposed, which, if implemented, will contribute to the socio-economic, cultural, and natural development of the parish through tourism in the medium and long term.

Proyecto de Graduación (Maestría en Gerencia de Proyectos) Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, Área Académica de Gerencia de Proyectos, 2018 This document aims to solve the problem occurred in the Shared Services Center of La Tecnológica S.A. in regards of the non-monitoring of the methodology established for project management, which generates: re work, the non-production of lessons learned and the lack of standardized documentation of completed projects. Initially a compilation of generalities of the organization in which the research was applied was carried out in order to put in context the characteristics of the Shared Services Center. Subsequently, all the terms to be used during the execution of the research concerning this document were conceptualized, emphasizing on the characteristics of a Project Management Office. Self-completed questionnaires, non-participant observation, and documentary analysis were applied as research instruments to gather the information that would allow the diagnostic of the current situation of the organization in terms of project management: categorizing it on a mid-low maturity level. The lack of a standardized methodology throughout the organization for the execution of projects and the lack of an entity to create and centralize documentation in projects already executed were identified as improvement areas. As a proposal to correct the problem addressed in the research, the creation of a consultative Project Management Office (PMO) in the CSC of La Tecnológica SA is proposed, whose main functions are the implementation and management of a standardized methodology for the management of projects, the creation and correct documentation of lessons learned and project management education for the entire population of CSC collaborators.
