Fashion companies’ chance to survive the current pandemic is much dependent on their analytics skills. Despite this urge and the arising possibilities in the “data era,” analytics activities are still underestimated and scattered across different fashion supply chain functions. Therefore, this article positions itself at the important intersection of analytics and fashion supply chain management. This article analyzed analytics applications across all relevant supply chain functions within the fashion industry. We conducted our literature review with a focus on different forms of data-driven decision making applied within fashion supply chain functions. We systematically compared the findings from a structured literature review and a content analysis of corporate annual reports and detailed state-of-the-art analytics examples. We highlight deviations in the analytics level: Research papers have a strong focus on advanced analytics methods while most companies are struggling to establish descriptive analytics capabilities. Based on this, we derive and detail managerial and research implications. Having created a holistic overview, this article presents itself as a cornerstone for further analytics-focused research within the fashion industry. Also, it provides managers with insights into the current landscape of analytics applications and develops the vision of a future analytics-driven fashion supply chain.

Making public health data easier to access, understand, and use makes it more likely that the data will be influential. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the New York City (NYC) Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Web-based data communication became a cornerstone of NYC’s response and allowed the public, journalists, and researchers to access and understand the data in a way that supported the pandemic response and brought attention to the deeply unequal patterns of COVID-19’s morbidity and mortality in NYC. After successful release of the first 3 issues of Microbes and Infectious Diseases in 2020, we’ve received 90 submissions from different countries (Africa: Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, Senegal, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, and Benin; Asia: Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and China; Europe: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey, Austria; Latin America: Cuba; and Australia). Although many of our papers are still in the peer review process, we have already published 55 papers online with a 36 % rejection rate. The median time from submission to online publication is 38 days. The Editorial Board Members have worked hard to meet the goals of Microbes and Infectious Diseases in delivering timely decisions and maintaining publication of high-quality papers through vigorous and scientific peer review process. Besides, we believe that authors’ response to the valuable comments of our editors and reviewers is a cornerstone for impacting in the international research community. We would like to introduce our deep thanks to 65 individual reviewers who give so freely of their time and expertise to critically evaluating manuscripts for the journal. Our reviewers, like our authors, come from all over the world to maintain a wide authorship, readership and global citation activity. Background Personal recovery should be the cornerstone of mental health nursing practice. Nursing interventions should build on consumers' strengths to provide hope, so consumers are empowered to achieve their own personal goals. Aim The aim of this study was to explore mental health nurses’ lived experience of their practice, understanding and knowledge of personal recovery-oriented care on acute mental health units. Method Van Manen's methodology was utilised in this study. Data was gathered through semistructured conversational interviews with mental health nurses working on an acute unit. Findings Participants found personal recovery was difficult on an acute mental health unit. Factors that participants identified that impeded personal recovery-oriented care on acute mental health units included: the acuity of consumers in a low dependency area, lack of time to engage consumers, and loss of the therapeutic role for mental health nurses on acute units. Discussion Mental health nurses are expected to focus on the personal recovery needs of mental health consumers while managing clinical risks to consumers and others on the acute unit. This has the mental health nurse navigating a course between two worlds, and results in mental health nurses being confused between concepts of personal recovery and clinical recovery. Conclusion If acute mental health nurses cannot define personal recovery, they will not be able to effectively implement interventions that support consumers in their personal recovery journey on acute units and will be drawn into the clinical recovery paradigm.

Making the voice of public health visible, both nationally and internationally and facilitating a strong and unified voice is what Zeegers and Barnhoorn see as the core activities of EUPHA and the EPH Conference Foundation. # President's Column {#article-title-2} A new year is a time for both reflection and anticipation. Reflection on what has gone well, or not so well in the past year and anticipation of the challenges and opportunities we will face in the year ahead. For EUPHA, we have much to celebrate from the past year and much to look forward to in 2015. In my last column, I wrote about our conference in Glasgow, where a combination of excellent organization and outstanding content created an event that will be remembered for many years. Now we are looking forward to Milan, with a programme that promises to be every bit as imaginative and informative. One of the streams will be on communication and advocacy in public health, something that I am particularly looking forward to, given its importance in making the world a better place. Cardiovascular diseases are culpable for the majority of mortalities the world over, hence the significance of advances in preventive medicine and imaging. Cardiovascular imaging constitutes the cornerstone of not only early but also precise diagnoses. Indeed, advanced imaging enables cardiologists to make efficacious management plans for various heart conditions. The present article discusses essential innovations in cardiovascular imaging.

Social media have shown great potential for producing significant changes in behavior and have become the cornerstone for many public health and agency efforts. The nonprofit sector -including blood collection agencies- has adopted social media to aid their cause and reach their goals. However, despite the tremendous impact of social media on society and its promising role for donor recruitment and retention, it has been overlooked in donor research. This study therefore sought to map the social media landscape around blood donation. We showcase an inductive computational method to make sense of vast amounts of dynamic unstructured blood donation text data that exists on social media. With this method, we display what is discussed about blood donation on social media, how these topics are distributed on Facebook and Twitter, and how the prevalence of these topics changes over time. We applied structural topic modeling on 7 years of Dutch blood donation Facebook and Twitter data by the general public. We found 25 topics clustered in 6 distinct clusters. Over time, there is a substantial reduction of messages in which donors announce their donations. Topics that emphasize the positives of blood donation, including donor identity-related topics, are rising. In addition, the findings show a clear social media platform contrast. Topics related to campaigns and controversial policies were found more on Twitter and positive donation topics and topics related to the donation process more on Facebook. To make optimal use of social media for recruitment and retention campaigns and efforts, blood collection agencies should recognize the turbulent environment in which they take place. Monitoring public opinions about blood donation will help blood collection agencies make strategic choices and utilize social media more effectively.

Social Networks represent a cornerstone of our daily life, where the so-called social reviewing systems (SRSs) play a key role in our daily lives and are used to access data typically in the form of reviews. Due to their importance, social networks must be trustworthy and secure, so that their shared information can be used by the people without any concerns, and must be protected against possible attacks and misuses. One of the most critical attacks against the reputation system is represented by mendacious reviews. As this kind of attacks can be conducted by legitimate users of the network, a particularly powerful solution is to exploit trust management, by assigning a trust degree to users, so that people can weigh the gathered data based on such trust degrees. Trust management within the context of SRSs is particularly challenging, as determining incorrect behaviors is subjective and hard to be fully automatized. Several attempts in the current literature have been proposed; however, such an issue is still far from been completely resolved. In this study, we propose a solution against mendacious reviews that combines fuzzy logic and the theory of evidence by modeling trust management as a multicriteria multiexpert decision making and exploiting the novel concept of time-dependent and content-dependent crown consensus. We empirically proved that our approach outperforms the main related works approaches, also in dealing with sockpuppet attacks.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematological cancer associated with significant symptomatic burden. Bone disease, renal insufficiency, cytopenias, infection, and peripheral neuropathy, among other disease manifestations and complications, impair patients' quality of life. The Canadian Myeloma Research Group Consensus Guideline Consortium, formerly Myeloma Canada Research Network Consensus Guideline Consortium, proposes national consensus recommendations for the management of MM-related manifestations and complications. To address the needs of Canadian physicians and people living with MM across the country, this document focuses on the improvement and maintenance of patient care by clarifying best-practice approaches for the prevention, detection and management of disease manifestations and complications. The Canadian Myeloma Research Group Consensus Guideline Consortium will periodically review the recommendations herein and update as necessary.

Learning on and through social media is becoming a cornerstone of lifelong learning, creating places not only for accessing information, but also for finding other self-motivated learners. Such is the case for Reddit, the online news sharing site that is also a forum for asking and answering questions. We studied learning practices found in ‘Ask’ subreddits AskScience, Ask_Politics, AskAcademia, and AskHistorians to develop a coding schema for informal learning. This paper describes the process of evaluating and defining a workable coding schema, one that started with attention to learning processes associated with discourse, exploratory talk, and conversational dialogue, and ended with including norms and practices on Reddit and the support of communities of inquiry. Our ‘learning in the wild’ coding schema contributes a content analysis schema for learning through social media, and an understanding of how knowledge, ideas, and resources are shared in open, online learning forums. The process revealed that when the integrity of a show’s theatre-ness is challenged by moving it online, the piece becomes a placeholder for the live event.

The bedside encounter between a patient and physician remains the cornerstone of the practice of medicine. However, physicians and trainees spend less time in direct contact with patients and families in the modern health care system. The current pandemic has further threatened time spent with patients. This lack of time has led to a decline in clinical skills and a decrease in the number of faculty members who are confident in teaching at the bedside. We offer several strategies to get physicians and trainees back to the bedside to engage in clinical skills teaching and assessment. We recommend that providers pause before bedside encounters to be present with patients and learners and to develop clear goals for a bedside teaching session. We suggest that clinical teachers practice an evidence-based approach, which includes an hypothesis-driven physical examination. We encourage the use of point-of-care technology to assist in diagnosis and to allow learners to calibrate traditional physical examination skills with real-time visualization of disease. Tools like point-of-care ultrasound scans can be powerful levers to get learners excited about bedside teaching and to engage patients in their clinical care. We value telemedicine visits as unique opportunities to engage with patients in their home environment and to participate in patient-directed physical examination maneuvers. Finally, we recommend that educators provide feedback to learners on specific clinical examination skills, whether in the clinic, the wards, or during dedicated clinical skills assessments.

Acting as a cornerstone in conserving biodiversity, protected areas (PAs) have played important roles in protecting the unique flora and fauna in China, yet a variety of issues have arisen, such as fragmented management, dispersed spatial pattern, and conflicts with socioeconomic development. To grapple with the problems associated with the current PA system, China is implementing nationwide institutional reforms by proposing a new coherent PA system with national parks as the main body. The reforms provide unprecedented opportunities to integrate the existing disjointed PAs into a unified and efficient system, and to meet international commitments. However, no previous experience is available for how to construct China’s new national park system. We decipher how the institutional reforms would change China’s PA system, and what the reforms can provide for China’s PAs and biodiversity, as well as potential challenges. Importantly, China’s PAs are stepping into a new era for nature conservation, with a strong hope to provide a quality environmental space for the rich and unique biodiversity.

Scientific talents are the cornerstone of science and technology development. The current method to find out the scientific talent is almost based on the scientists’ achievement, less considering the interrelationships hidden in the objects. In this paper, we propose a centrality-adjusted graph attention network to discover active scientific talents. This graph network can find out the internal correlation among scientific papers by using a predicate-based attention mechanism and in-degree adjustment strategy on the node. We adopt two training ways for experimentation and validation of the proposed model: in-domain and out-of-domain estimation. The experiment result shows that our model performs better than existing models on the Database of Chinese Science Citation on Normalized Discounted Cumulative Gain (NDCG) metrics.

On August 15, 1962, an agreement was signed by the representatives of the Red Flag Canal users from two counties in China. Since then, it has enabled people from both counties to share canal benefits, and as such ably become a cornerstone for a peaceful canal culture between the two peoples. The agreement and its making process were both initiated by Yang Gui (杨贵), the top leader of one of the two counties who masterminded the Red Flag Canal project. In explaining his motivation, Yang Gui stated, “We are building the Red Flag Canal for posterity; we must do everything we can to save posterity the trouble.” However, just what “the trouble” he perceived was, who the troublemaker he thought would be, and why he was confident that a bilateral agreement could serve the noble goal “to save posterity the trouble”, Yang Gui did not say, neither did he leave any record. In this article, we report our aspiration and endeavor to fill this knowledge gap, and present fresh discoveries and insights we derived from examining this instance through a CPR lens—an eclectic collection of economic constructs of common-pool resources (CPRs). The article is the fourth in a mini-series on the Red Flag Canal, one of the best kept secrets in the history of socio-ecological practice.

Innovations and advances in technologies over the past few years have yielded faster and wider diagnostic applications to patients with neurologic diseases. This article focuses on the foreseeable developments of the diagnostic tools available to the neurologist in the next 15 years. Clinical judgment is and will remain the cornerstone of the diagnostic process, assisted by novel technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Future neurologists must be educated to develop, cultivate, and rely on their clinical skills, while becoming familiar with novel, often complex, assistive technologies.

There are many definitions internationally for integrity of the public sector. The United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) connects integrity with reliability of public servants, which can help them in effective fulfilment of tasks. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) defines the integrity of the public sector as „application of values, principles and norms in everyday operation of the organisations of the public sector” (URL1). The traditional answers in the fight against corruption, which are based on creation of several laws, on to rigid compliance systems and on stricter enforcement, have only limited efficiency. As it was formed in the title of the interview: integrity is the cornerstone of an efficient public administration system. Considering the thoughts of Marai, in this way can be ensured, that integrity can become, beside law and conscience, the third strong weapon in the fight against corruption. With Eszter Dargay, Deputy State Secretary for Regulation and Coordination of the Ministry of Interior, first of all we talked about the ministry’s coordination in the fight against corruption, about development of integrity management and about successes of the past years, and further we asked her about future challenges on the special field of integrity. Although a cornerstone of traditional finance theory, empirical evidence in support of a positive mean-variance relation is far from conclusive, with the behavior of retail investors commonly thought to be one of the root causes of departures from this expected relationship. The behavior of institutional investors, conventionally thought to be sophisticated and rational, has recently come under closer scrutiny, including in relation to investor sentiment. Drawing together these two strands of literature, this paper examines the impact of institutional investor sentiment on the mean-variance relation in six regions, including Asia (excl. Japan), Eastern Europe, Eurozone, Japan, Latin America, and the US, and across thirty-eight markets. Empirical evidence supports the differential impact of institutional investor sentiment on the mean-variance relation (i.e., positive or negative), both across regions and across markets. In particular, for markets with cultural proneness to overreaction and a low level of market integrity institutional investor sentiment tends to distort the risk-return tradeoff.

The objective of the research is both historic-literary and purely theoretical. If in the first area we have to find out the individual identity of Lesia Ukrainka with a certain literary generation, and in the second area one should answer the question of whether the self-identification of the writeress with a certain literary generation can become the cornerstone for writing the history of literature. The process of working with the contents of letters was carried out with the help of systematic interpretation and hermeneutic reading. The main result of the research is the possibility to state that Lesia Ukrainka respected the experience of the representatives of the previous generation, but she desired to be appreciated by critics as part of the present generation gives reason to think that the writeress still identified herself as the representative of modernism.

The current confrontation between the State of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran is not an exceptionally new phenomenon; however, it is noticeable that escalation around the “Iran nuclear deal” makes this issue one of the most urgent on the current political agenda. This article focuses on countries’ strategic culture as both public and non-state actors see and respond to challenges and opportunities international system − which is the result of cultural perception. Iranian and Israeli strategic cultures have some similarities - consideration of which is necessary to understand the specifics of the relationship between the two states and Jerusalem's possible response to a potential nuclearization of Tehran. Cultural details are often overlooked when we are trying to analyze the policy of a particular state, however, this analysis can provide an understanding of a particular country's response to challenges and threats. Learning more about how and why actors use force in the system is an important topic to which strategic culture may provide some answers but the process of applying it is difficult. In this article, we overview historical preconditions of Iran-Israel relations, Israel's specific view of its ambitions in the region, and nowadays escalation between two countries. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is still on the agenda between the two countries, while negotiations in Vienna continue, Iran increased its enrichment up to 60 percent – the highest level in Iranian history. Iranian nuclear program is a cornerstone in the US-Iran and Iran-Israel relations, but the strategic culture of Israel still cannot adopt improvement of relations between the US and Iran, as Iranian progress in its nuclear ambitions.

As acceptance of transgender and gender diverse individuals continues to increase, gender-affirming surgery, a cornerstone in the management of gender dysphoria, is becoming more readily available. HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) disproportionately affect these populations, but there are limited epidemiologic and management data on STIs in people who have undergone gender-affirming genital surgery such as vaginoplasty. This review will provide clinicians with anatomical details about the various vaginoplasty procedures currently being performed, complications associated with these procedures, and an overview of the current literature describing HIV/STI epidemiology among transfeminine individuals who have undergone vaginoplasty.

Environmental public interest litigation (EPIL) is an important development in the evolving framework of environmental governance in China. Through quantitative and qualitative analyses of decided cases brought by local government, public prosecutors and environmental non-governmental organisations (NGOs), this study critically examines the features, strengths, difficulties and obstacles in the EPIL practice of China. While there is remarkable success overall for all three groups in terms of outcome, they each display different approaches and focuses. The prosecutors have established themselves as the cornerstone of the system by being the most efficient in winning the greatest number of cases. NGOs moved away from collaboration with the prosecutors in low-value cases, effectively into a competition with the government in a smaller number of high-value cases, though they are willing to venture into areas where others hesitate over. The findings offer valuable insights into current EPIL practice and inform future policy adjustment and legislation.

Jean-Claude Izzo, an author committed to reality, recreates in his work Le Soleil des mourants the life of an indigent condemned to exclusion and loneliness. His critique also extends to contemporary society, both urban and dehumanized, and to the institutions and organisms that govern it, incapable of coping with social stigmas. This paper aims to disentangle, through a semantic-stylistic analysis, the homeless figure who stands as the cornerstone around which the story revolves. This paper also tries to identify the textual, linguistic, and cultural singularities that, from a translation studies approach, are regarded as specific translation challenges in this novel. This study puts forth a proposal for the Spanish translation of a selection of passages that support our arguments. The translation decisions are made according to the concept of communicative equivalence (Wotjak 2015) and to the taxonomy of techniques compiled by Hurtado Albir (2008, 269–271). The paper concludes that the concept of communicative equivalence has become a relevant methodology for the translation of Le Soleil des mourants, as it enables the translator to render the denotative elements of the message, the connotative and expressive use of the language, and the author’s communicative intention.

Background/Aims Teamwork is the cornerstone of patient safety, with effective communication being essential for producing fewer complications during a patient's stay in hospital. In 2018, The Royal College of Surgeons of England published ‘The High Performing Surgical Team’, which outlined the components of a high-functioning team broken down into seven attributes: individual, team, trust, conflict resolution, commitment to task, accountability and results. This study evaluated teamwork among surgical specialties in a single centre. Methods Team members completed a survey consisting of seven sections, based on the Royal College of Surgeons of England components of teamworking, scoring statements using a 4-point Likert scale. Respondents included surgical doctors (interns, residents, registrars, fellows and consultants) and nurses (ward and theatre) from 12 surgical teams. Sections with 20% of more negative answers were considered to indicate a significant negative team attribute in that area of teamworking. Results Of the 108 respondents, 73 (67.6%) doctors and 35 (35.4%) nurses noted negative team attributes across all staff grades in at least two of the seven attributes (accountability and results), except registrars, who had one (accountability) of the seven negative attributes. Interns were reported as having negative attributes in four of the attributes (conflict resolution, commitment to task, accountability and results), while residents had negative attributes in three area (commitment to task, accountability and results). Conclusions The more junior the member of the team, the more likely they are to have negative teamworking attributes. Further evaluation would be of use to investigate whether these results are generalisable to other cohorts and to provide opportunities to improve teamwork and, therefore, patient care.

Anatomy is regarded as a cornerstone of health care education and is normally a pre-requisite for clinicians. Even though cadaver dissection and prosection is perceived as the "gold standard," in recent years, its use appeared to be replaced by a myriad of innovative teaching technologies. The present study incorporated a three-dimensional (3D) virtual human cadaver—Anatomage Table (AT)—in teaching human anatomy to first-year nursing students in a quasi-experimental design. The results show that the class average in mid-term and final examinations and the overall Grade Point Average (GPA) was significantly higher in students taught with the AT than students taught without the AT. On a satisfaction survey, 84.0% of students reported a positive experience with the AT, and 85.4% indicated they would recommend this teaching tool to other students. For nursing programs without cadaveric dissection, the AT may serve as an effective teaching tool to increase the knowledge of anatomy and may enhance student's long-term knowledge retention.

The child or young person with suspected poisoning is a relatively common emergency presentation in paediatrics. The toxic agent is frequently known, though on occasion a significant amount of detective work is required. Fortunately, poisoning causing significant harm is rare, but the possibility is ever present. The cornerstone of assessment and management is good medical and nursing care, combined with early recourse to specialist advice when the risk or presence of significant harm is identified. An overview of the approach to these clinical situations is outlined with practical examples provided to illustrate this for common poisons.

Increasing consumer engagement is a cornerstone of companies’ social media efforts. However, how social media brand engagement behavior affects brand performance remains largely unexplored. We capture engagement along two dimensions – volume and variety – and measure brand performance using consumers’ brand attachment, attitudes, and purchase intentions. Based on the power law of practice and combining survey measures with social media data, our analyses reveal a diminishing marginal utility of engagement volume, as the positive impact of engagement behavior on brand outcomes declines at higher engagement levels. However, the variation across performed activities attenuates these diminishing returns on engagement volume. We find consistent evidence for these effects across two studies with 1347 consumers who interacted with different brands. The results question companies’ often unidimensional focus on increasing engagement volume. Instead, our findings suggest that to maximize brand performance on social media platforms, companies should also encourage engagement variety.

Background: Feedback is imperative for academic success, learning, and professional growth. Faculty competence to provide constructive feedback is a cornerstone in the educational process, environment, and outcomes. Methods: This cross-sectional study evaluated the quantity, quality, timing, and utilization of feedback among 38 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students. An assessment experience questionnaire was used to collected data. Results: The majority of students ( n = 27 [71%]) expressed that the timing of feedback is critical; 21 (55%) students reported feedback threatened their self-esteem, 19 (50%) students perceived feedback did not help in completing assignments, and 24 (63%) students reported feedback did not help in understanding assignments. Students reported the negative impact of feedback resulted in feeling discouraged regarding reflection ( n = 20 [53%]) and self-regulation ( n = 21 [55%]). Conclusion: Although feedback is imperative for academic success and professional development, the quantity and quality affects students' utilization of feedback. Oncology trials are the cornerstone of effective and safe therapeutic discoveries. However, there is increasing demand for pragmatism and patient engagement in the design, implementation and dissemination of oncology trials. Many researchers are uncertain about making trials more practical and even less knowledgeable about how to meaningfully engage patients without compromising scientific rigor to meet regulatory requirements. The present work provides practical guidance for addressing both pragmaticism and meaningful patient engagement. Applying evidence-based approaches like PRECIS-2-tool and the 10-Step Engagement Framework offer practical guidance to make future trials in oncology truly pragmatic and patient-centered. Consequently, such patient-centered trials have improved participation, faster recruitment and greater retention, and uptake of innovative technologies in community-based care.

Relevance. The current state of medicine is imperfect as in every other field. Some main discrete problems may be separated in diagnostics and disease management. Biomedical data operation difficulties are a serious limiting factor in solving crucial healthcare problems, represented in the statistically significant groups of diseases. Accumulation of life science data creates as possibilities as challenges to effectively utilize it in clinical practice. Machine learning-based tools are necessary for the generation of new insights and the discovery of new hidden patterns especially on big datasets. AI-based decisions may be successfully utilized for diagnosis of diseases, monitoring of general health, prediction of risks, treatment solutions, and biomedical knowledge generation. Objective. To analyze the potential of machine learning algorithms in healthcare on exact existing problems and make a forecast of their development in near future. Method. An analytical review of the literature on keywords from the scientometric databases Scopus, PubMed, Wiley. Search depth 7 years from 2013 to 2020. Results. Analyzing the current general state of the healthcare system we separated the most relevant problems linked to diagnostics, treatment, and systemic management: diagnostics errors, delayed diagnostics (including during emergencies), overdiagnosis, bureaucracy, communication issues, and "handoff" difficulties. We examined details of the convenient decision-making process in the clinical environment in order to define exact points which may be significantly improved by AI-based decisions, among them: diagnosis of diseases, monitoring of general health, prediction of risks, treatment solutions, and biomedical knowledge generation. We defined machine learning algorithms as a prospective tool for disease diagnostics and management, as well as for new utilizable insights generation and big data processing. Conclusion. Machine learning is a group of technologies that can become a cornerstone for dealing with various medical problems. But still, we have some problems to solve before the intense implementation of such tools in the healthcare system.

The article examines the issue of the peculiarities of the use of legal terminology in the countries of the European Union. It is emphasized, that the reform of domestic legislation and its approximation to world standards requires thorough research of European legislation. In particular, the cornerstone of today's challenge is the proper use and common approaches to the use of legal terminology. That is why theoretical research on the peculiarities of the use of legal terminology in the legislation of the European Union is necessary to properly improve domestic legislation and avoid mistakes and misunderstandings in the future. Emphasis is placed on the fact that domestic and foreign researchers have not developed a unified approach to understanding the term "terminology". That is why this term is used in three different meanings. It is also noted, that the category "term" is not new and has been in the field of view of researchers for a long time, but its direct study has only recently begun. It is noted, that legal terminology is considered as technical, i.e.it is the most noticeable and striking linguistic feature of legal language. In this sense, legal terminology is used to denote concepts that belong to the legal field. It is emphasized that, in contrast to the systemic languages, used in national texts, the European Union resorts to a form of "cultural communication", governed by multilingualism. Such communication is considered cultural because it is not rooted in any of the national cultures of the EU Member States. Legal acts, adopted by the EU institutions, which are to be applied and enforced in all Member States, must avoid cultural specificities and, therefore, the concepts or terminology specific to any one national legal system must be used with caution

The Covid-19 pandemic occurred at a time of major revolution in the geosciences – the era of digital geology. Digital outcrop models (DOMs) acquired from consumer drones, processed using user-friendly photogrammetric software and shared with the wider audience through online platforms are a cornerstone of this digital geological revolution. Integration of DOMs with other geoscientific data, such as geological maps, satellite imagery, terrain models, geophysical data and field observations, strengthens their application in both research and education. Teaching geology with digital tools advances students' learning experience by providing access to high-quality outcrops, enhancing visualization of 3D geological structures and improving data integration. Similarly, active use of DOMs to integrate new field observations will facilitate more effective fieldwork and quantitative research. From a student's perspective, georeferenced and scaled DOMs allow for an improved appreciation of scale and of 3D architecture, which is a major threshold concept in geoscientific education. DOMs allow us to bring geoscientists to the outcrops digitally, which is particularly important in view of the Covid-19 pandemic that restricts travel and thus direct access to outcrops. At the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS), located at 78∘ N in Longyearbyen in Arctic Norway, DOMs are actively used even in non-pandemic years, as the summer field season is short and not overlapping with the Bachelor “Arctic Geology” course package held from January to June each year. In 2017, we at UNIS developed a new course (AG222 “Integrated Geological Methods: From Outcrop To Geomodel”) to encourage the use of emerging techniques like DOMs and data integration to solve authentic geoscientific challenges. In parallel, we have established the open-access Svalbox geoscientific portal, which forms the backbone of the AG222 course activities and provides easy access to a growing number of DOMs, 360∘ imagery, subsurface data and published geoscientific data from Svalbard. Considering the rapid onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Svalbox portal and the pre-Covid work on digital techniques in AG222 allowed us to rapidly adapt and fulfil at least some of the students' learning objectives during the pandemic. In this contribution, we provide an overview of the course development and share experiences from running the AG222 course and the Svalbox platform, both before and during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This paper is the documentation of a graduation internship at Digital Society School (DSS) in which they teamed up with Ajax Fancare to solve their logistical problem and enhance the fan experience. Ajax Fancare is facing a logistical problem in manually answering every fan’s question via calls, emails, social media, or live chat. They believe that chatbot is the solution to this problem. The goal of this project is to research, design, and prototype a chatbot that could tackle the logistical problem and enhance the fan experience. The deliverable is a chatbot prototype and architecture in which Ajax Fancare could build upon for their future customer service chatbot. The main question of the research is answered by the chatbot architecture: Jax the Architecture, a conversational tree of all the possible interactions between a user and the chatbot. The final chatbot architecture answers the research question by mapping together the main elements of the chatbot such as the information fans needed from Ajax Fancare and additional features that create a new and inclusive experience. The prototypes and final chatbot architecture are ready to be tested for further research and serve as a cornerstone for future development of the Ajax Fancare chatbot.

This research aims to highlight the merit of the Imam Ibn Jarir al-Tabari - the author of the first interpretation of the entire Book of God marked with "Jami al-Bayan on the Interpretation of the Verses of the Qur'an", famous for al-Tabari's interpretation - and his leadership in the approach to interpretation, where he established for us a principle that represents the building block of the scientific approach in dealing with texts, which is the combination between naqli and aqli. To achieve its objectives, the research relies on the descriptive analytical method by reading his interpretation and the sayings of scholars to clarify its features and praise it. At the end of the research, some results are expected from it that this interpretation is actually the first complete book in the interpretation of the Noble Qur’an that combines naqli and aqli in an unparalleled ingenuity, and that it occupies the pinnacle of interpretation with the adage on the side, and on the other side it is considered the starting point and the cornerstone of the approach to interpretation by opinion.

Celem artykułu jest ustalenie znaczenia Austrii w polityce bezpieczeństwa RP w latach 1918–1926. Przeprowadzona analiza stosunków dwustronnych ma wykazać, czy Polska traktowała Austrię jako potencjalnego sojusznika, czy jednak w większym stopniu jako zagrożenie. Groźba utraty niepodległości przez Austrię była uznawana przez władze polskie za czynnik zagrożenia systemu wersalskiego, którego nienaruszalność stanowiła kamień węgielny polityki bezpieczeństwa RP. Paradoksalnie to słabość Austrii decydowała o jej dużym znaczeniu w polityce bezpieczeństwa Polski.

Purpose “Co-production” is a process in health and social care wherein service users and practitioners work in partnership. Recovery colleges (RCs) are educational establishments offering mental health education; a cornerstone feature is that courses are designed and delivered in parity by both mental health practitioners and “peers” – people with lived experience of mental illness. This paper aims to consider, through the identification of key themes, whether co-production within RCs is operating successfully. Design/methodology/approach The paper is a systematic review of qualitative literature. Relevant concept groups were systematically searched using three bibliographic databases: Medline, Social Care Online and Scopus. Articles were quality appraised and then synthesised through inductive thematic analysis and emergent trends identified. Findings Synthesis identified three key themes relating to the impact of co-production in RCs: practitioner attitudes, power dynamics between practitioners and service users, and RCs’ relationships with their host organisations. As a result of RC engagement, traditional practitioner/patient hierarchies were found to be eroding. Practitioners felt they were more person-centred. RCs can model good co-productive practices to their host organisations. The review concluded, with some caveats, that RC co-production was of high fidelity. Originality/value RC research is growing, but the body of evidence remains relatively small. Most of what exists examine the impact of RCs on individuals’ overall recovery and mental health; there is a limited empirical investigation into whether their flagship feature of parity between peers and practitioners is genuine.

The history of the collection of contemporary animals of the Museum and Institute of Zoology PAS dates back to the second half of the 18th century. The oldest specimens come from the collection of Sylwiusz Munkwitz, which became the foundation of the assemblage of the Zoological Cabinet of the University of Warsaw (1818-1919). During the hundred years of its existence, this institution has gathered the largest zoological collection of scientific nature in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. The circle of people who cultivated natural science traditions included both (1) explorers of terrain, discoverers of species new to science and (2) naturalists who marked out new directions and regions of research, (3) patrons of Polish science who supported the creation and maintenance of valuable natural history collections, as well as (4) exiles and emigrants who served Polish science in distant parts of the world. Despite invaders repressions against the Zoological Cabinet of the University of Warsaw, naturalists gathered around the Branicki Museum continued their exploratory and museum activities as of 1887. The collections of both institutions became in 1919 the cornerstone of zoological collections of the National Museum of Natural History, whose successor, through the Polish State Museum of Natural History and the State Zoological Museum, is currently the Museum and Institute of Zoology PAS. Created with dedication and expertise, the collections include specimens representing thousands of species (including descriptive types) found on all continents of the world. For many years, they have been serving science, education and popularization of natural knowledge. The turbulent history of Poland, especially the Second World War, was not favorable for the development of the collection. Specimens were destroyed, confiscated and exported; many of them dispersed. After the war, collecting, cataloguing and disseminating knowledge about museum resources was resumed. Information on thousands of specimens is now linked in one coherent system. It enables the presentation of the collections in a digital form that reaches a wide audience.

The development and the cultivation of emotional intelligence and of the skills it can offer to the individual are the main elements and pursuits of contemporary research. The enhancement of self-control, the reinforcement of self-criticism and self-awareness and the cultivation of the constant self-development are the most central objectives of all the people and of the scientists since they are the cornerstone for euphoria. The aim of the present study is the review and the critical reproduction of information and conclusions that have been extracted from the international bibliography regarding the issue in question. More specifically, there will be an effort to evaluate and present the significance of the activities of virtual reality and of augmented reality that contribute to the development of emotional intelligence skills. Along the same lines, there will be an important review of the articles that refer to the exploitation of such digital tools, to achieve the same results for the people suffering from autism as well. Besides, the care for all the members of the society with no exceptions, and certainly of those members that suffer from mental retardation, should be of upmost importance. The present article focuses on the role that those tools play for the amplification of the skills in the sphere of emotional intelligence not only as far as the duration of the research is concerned.
