Els sistemes de reg localitzat han suposat un gran avenç en les tècniques de regadiu. En els últims anys la instal•lació d’aquests sistemes ha augmentat en detriment dels mètodes tradicionals. Actualment a Espanya és el sistema de reg més utilitzat pel que fa a superfície, però no a Catalunya. Amb els sistemes de reg localitzat es pot aconseguir una major eficiència en l’ús de l’aigua i l’energia enfront els altres sistemes (amb excepció del reg per gravetat que no té consum energètic). Per això, cal realitzar un bon disseny agronòmic per tal d’aportar a la planta l’aigua que estrictament necessita. Paral•lelament cal un bon maneig de les instal•lacions, ja que sinó les eficiències poden ser pitjors que en els sistemes tradicionals. En el present treball s’han elaborat dues eines de format digital (Sistemes d’informació geogràfica i aplicació Android) per ajudar en el disseny agronòmic de reg localitzat en la zona del Baix Ter

Serious infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in systemic inflammatory rheumatic disease (SIRD) patients. Although vaccination may prevent numerous infections, vaccination uptake rates are low in this group of patients.To develop evidence-based recommendations for vaccination in SIRD patients.We searched MEDLINE (until 31 October 2014) and EMBASE (until 14 December 2014) databases, as well as the ACR and EULAR congress abstracts (2011-2014). Patients with any systemic inflammatory rheumatic disease were included and all vaccines were considered. Any safety and efficacy outcomes were admitted. Search results were submitted to title and abstract selection, followed by detailed review of suitable studies. Data were subsequently pooled according to the type of vaccine and the SIRD considered. Results were presented and discussed by a multidisciplinary panel and systematic literature review (SLR)-derived recommendations were voted according to the Delphi method. The level of agreement among rheumatologists was assessed using an online survey.Eight general and seven vaccine-specific recommendations were formulated. Briefly, immunization status should routinely be assessed in all SIRD patients. The National Vaccination Program should be followed and some additional vaccines are recommended. To maximize the efficacy of vaccination, vaccines should preferably be administered 4 weeks before starting immunosuppression or, if possible when disease activity is controlled. Non-live vaccines are safe in SIRD, including immunosuppressed patients. The safety of live attenuated vaccines in immunosuppressed patients deserves further ascertainment, but might be considered in particular situations.The present recommendations combine scientific evidence with the multidisciplinary expertise of our taskforce panel and attained desirable agreement among Portuguese rheumatologists. Vaccination recommendations need to be updated on a regular basis, as more scientific data regarding vaccination efficacy and safety, emergent infectious threats, new vaccines as well as new immunomodulatory therapies become available.

El comportamiento recalcitrante y la germinación lenta e irregular son factores limitantes en la producción de plántulas de Bertholletia excelsa mediante el proceso convencional. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el enraizamiento de estacas juveniles de B. excelsa asociadas a la aplicación de ácido indolbutírico (AIB) en propagador de subirrigación. El diseño experimental fue completamente al azar con un arreglo factorial 3?3?2 de tratamientos: tres dosis (0, 1000 y 3000 mg L?1) de AIB como regulador de crecimiento; tres tipos de estacas (apical, media y basal); y dos tiempos de inmersión (1 s y 60 s). Los datos se analizaron con un ANDEVA y las medias de los tratamientos se compararon con la prueba de SNK (p?0.05). A los 180 d se evaluó el número y la longitud media de las raíces, el porcentaje de enraizamiento, la presencia de callo y la supervivencia de las estacas. Los resultados muestran que las estacas medias y basales sumergidas 1 s a 1000 mg L?1 de AIB tuvieron los porcentajes mayores de enraizamiento, 58.3 % y 41.7 %, respectivamente. Las estacas sólo presentaron, en promedio, la formación de una raíz única. Las longitudes medias mayores de raíces se obtuvieron en las estacas medias sumergidas 1 s en 3000 mg L?1 de AIB (7.0 cm) y 1000 mg L?1 de AIB (6.4 cm). Así, las concentraciones de AIB estimulan el surgimiento de raíces en diferentes tipos de estacas de B. excelsa, el segmento medio inmerso en 1000 mg L?1 por 1 s es el más indicado para aumentar el porcentaje de enraizamiento, y el proceso de estacas con material juvenil de B. excelsa puede adoptarse para la propagación vegetativa de la especie. O trabalho teve o objetivo de avaliar o comportamento da espécie Schizolobum parahyba var. amazonicum (Huber ex Ducke) Barneby (paricá) de diferentes idades e sistemas de cultivo no município de Aurora do Pará (PA - Brasil). O experimento foi conduzido no campo experimental Tramontina Belém S.A (2°10?00?S; 47°32?00?W), seguindo o delineamento estatístico inteiramente ao acaso com parcelas subdivididas. Foram selecionadas seis plantações florestais de paricá: 1 - Sistema agroflorestal de paricá + curauá (Ananas comosus var. erectifolius) (SAFpc); 2 - monocultivo de paricá (MONp); 3 - Sistema agroflorestal paricá, freijó (Cordia goeldiana Huber) e curauá (SAFpfc); 4 - Consórcio paricá e freijó (CONpf); 5 - Sistema agroflorestal paricá, mogno (Switenia macrophylla King), freijó e curauá (SAFpmfc); e 6 - Consórcio paricá, mogno e+ freijó (CONpmf). O tamanho da parcela foi de 18 x 24 m com quatro repetições por tratamento, perfazendo um total de 28 parcelas e 10.368 m2 de área experimental. As variáveis obtidas para inferir sobre crescimento do paricá foram altura (H) e diâmetro a altura do peito (DAP) e, a partir delas, foram calculados Incrementos Médios Anuais em DAP (IMAdap) e H (IMAalt) e o volume (V). Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância e as médias comparadas através do teste SNK a 95% de probabilidade. Os resultados indicaram que o paricá quando associado ao curauá apresentou resultados estatisticamente superiores de incremento em altura e diâmetro a altura do peito e volume, quando comparados com os tratamentos da mesma idade na ausência da espécie agrícola

O Pseudohipoparatiroidismo (PHP) é uma doença de transmissão genética. descrita por Albright em 1942 e constitui o primeiro síndrome endócrino em que se reconheceu resistência dos orgãos alvo a uma hormona. Foram também associadas a esta situação um conjunto de alterações fenotípicas, denominadas Osteodistrofia Hereditária de Albright (OHA) que, no entanto, podem também surgir sem alteração dos níveis de Cálcio e Fósforo séricos, descrevendo-se assim o PseudoPseudohipoparatiroidismo (PPHP). Em 1980 demonstrou-se que a maioria dos doentes com PHP tem uma redução da actividade da proteína transdutora Gs subunidade a, fundamental para a actuação de hormonas que usam o AMPc como segundo mensageiro intracelular. Na transmissão desta mutação estará provavelmente implicado o fenómeno de «imprinting». Descreve-se o caso clínico de uma criança do sexo feminino, com características fenotípicas que evidenciaram progressivamente uma OHA e em que, só tardiamente, se conseguiram demonstrar alterações laboratoriais sugestivas da doença. Objective: To develop Portuguese evidence-based recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gout. Methods: As part of the 3e Initiative (Evidence, Expertise and Exchange), a panel of 78 international rheumatologists developed 10 relevant clinical questions which were investigated with systematic literature reviews. MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane CENTRAL and abstracts from 2010-2011 EULAR and ACR meetings were searched. Based on the evidence found in the published literature, rheumatologists from 14 countries developed national recommendations that were merged and voted into multinational recommendations. We present the Portuguese recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gout which were formulated and voted by Delphi method in April 2012, in Lisbon. The level of agreement and potential impact in clinical practice was also assessed. Results: Twelve national recommendations were elaborated from 10 international and 2 national questions. These recommendations addressed the diagnosis of gout; the treatment of acute flares and urate-lowering therapy; monitoring of gout and comorbidity screening; the influence of comorbidities in drug choice; lifestyle flareprophylaxis; management of tophi and asymptomatic hyperuricaemia; the role of urine alkalinization; and the burden of gout. The level of agreement with the recommendations ranged from 6.8 to 9.0 (mean 7.7) on a 1-10 point visual analogue scale, in which 10 stands for full agreement. Conclusion: The 12 Portuguese recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gout were formulated according to the best evidence and endorsed by a panel of 42 rheumatologists, enhancing their validity and practical use in daily clinical practice. publishersversion published

Background: Arteriosclerosis and emphysema develop in individuals with Schimke immuno-osseous dysplasia (SIOD), a multisystem disorder caused by biallelic mutations in SMARCAL1 (SWI/SNF-related, matrix-associated, actin-dependent regulator of chromatin, subfamily a-like 1). However, the mechanism by which the vascular and pulmonary disease arises in SIOD remains unknown. Methods: We reviewed the records of 65 patients with SMARCAL1 mutations. Molecular and immunohistochemical analyses were conducted on autopsy tissue from 4 SIOD patients. Results: Thirty-two of 63 patients had signs of arteriosclerosis and 3 of 51 had signs of emphysema. The arteriosclerosis was characterized by intimal and medial hyperplasia, smooth muscle cell hyperplasia and fragmented and disorganized elastin fibers, and the pulmonary disease was characterized by panlobular enlargement of air spaces. Consistent with a cell autonomous disorder, SMARCAL1 was expressed in arterial and lung tissue, and both the aorta and lung of SIOD patients had reduced expression of elastin and alterations in the expression of regulators of elastin gene expression. Conclusions: This first comprehensive study of the vascular and pulmonary complications of SIOD shows that these commonly cause morbidity and mortality and might arise from impaired elastogenesis. Additionally, the effect of SMARCAL1 deficiency on elastin expression provides a model for understanding other features of SIOD.

Com objetivo de avaliar a ação das concentrações de nitrato de amônio, com adição de ácido cítrico e ácido ascórbico, segmentos nodais foram submetidos a condições de cultura in vitro com a finalidade de controlar a oxidação de paricá (Schizolobium amazonicum). O trabalho foi desenvolvido no Laboratório de Recursos Genéticos e Biotecnologia da Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, Belém (PA). Explantes provenientes do cultivo in vitro foram inoculados em tubos de ensaio contendo meio de cultura MS (Murashige e Skoog, 1962) com as concentrações de nitrato de amônio reduzidas a 1?2, 1?4 e 0, suplementado com 3 mg.L-1 de BAP (6-benzilaminopurina), 3 % de sacarose, e 0,1% das substâncias antioxidantes. Os explantes foram mantidos em sala de crescimento com fotoperíodo de 16 horas de luz e intensidade luminosa de 25 mol.m-2.s?1 de irradiância. Avaliou-se a intensidade de oxidação através da análise de variância e teste de regressão. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que os tratamentos mais eficientes foram os que continham nitrato de amônio reduzido a 1?2 e que as duas substâncias antioxidantes influenciaram no controle da oxidação. Houve diferenças significativas em nível de 5% de probabilidade na intensidade de oxidação dos explantes de paricá. Foram observadas a formação de calos e a proliferação de brotos.
