This exploratory study investigated an educational psychologist's use of a strengths-based development tool with head teachers, in the context of influencing and supporting leaders in school organisations. Nine head teachers completed the "Realise2 Introductory Profile" online strengths assessment and then received a structured debrief by an educational psychologist, to facilitate discussion around their individual profile. Feedback was gathered from five head teachers, using semi-structured interview and a Likert-type rating scale. Interviews were analysed thematically. Head teachers reported raised self-awareness in terms of their realised strengths, learned behaviours, weaknesses and unrealised strengths. They noted an increased motivation and commitment to self reflection as a core practice and related this to subsequent changes in management practice, such as improving personal resilience, increased authenticity in their professional role and more effective delegation of management tasks. Organisational level outcomes reported by head teachers included increases in focus on strengths based practices, teacher well-being and resilience. Personal and professional development with individual head teachers is discussed as an effective use of educational psychology resources with potential benefits for the wider organisation.

This study surveyed academic libraries across the United States to establish baseline data on their contributions to campus internationalization. Supplementing data from the American Council on Education (ACE) on internationalization of higher education, this research measured the level of international activities taking place in academic libraries and their role in campus internationalization efforts. The results of this study indicated that responding libraries contribute broadly to campus internationalizing efforts yet trail campuses in strategic planning and organizational support. Based on analysis of the results in comparison with ACE data, the authors provide suggestions for further library initiatives and research that focuses on international and global learning activities.

The discovery of relevant research in the field of international education can be difficult due to the nature of the field and how scholarly work is indexed. This article presents a review of published international education literature to identify key topics and publication patterns, along with potential gaps and inequities in current scholarly discourse. Using the keywords "international education" and "global education," the analyses focus on records retrieved from Web of Science. Of the 1492 peer-reviewed journal articles reviewed (published from 1991 to 2017), the analyses revealed only 705 articles relevant to the field of international education. Additional analyses of bibliometric data show a significant increase in international education publication over the past two decades; evolving trends regarding topical foci and methods; and publication disparities regarding national contexts and languages outside the Global North/anglophone-dominated discourse. The article concludes with recommendations to improve discoverability, better connect various areas of international education research, and expand scholarly discourse to include more diverse representation. The same person can make different moral judgments about the same activity in their professional role and in their personal life. For example, people may follow a different moral code when making purchases at work compared with in their private lives. This potential difference has largely remained unexamined. This study explores differences in felt moral responsibility in workplace and private purchasing settings, regarding the impacts of purchasing decisions on supply chain workers, and explores the influence of personal values and ethical work climate. The case of a high-profile university in the United Kingdom is studied, which has made strong commitments to socially responsible public procurement. Based on a survey of 318 university staff who make purchases at work, stronger moral values related to harm/care are associated with higher felt responsibility in personal purchasing than in workplace purchasing, whereas less strong harm/care values are associated with higher felt responsibility in workplace purchasing than personal purchasing. In relation to ethical work climate, detailed awareness of organizational ethical procurement commitments is found to be associated with higher felt responsibility in workplace purchasing and is also found to increase the discrepancy between workplace and personal felt responsibility, increasing felt responsibility in the workplace but not in personal purchasing. These findings demonstrate the influence of individual and contextual factors on felt responsibility across different roles. Recommendations are made for further empirical research on felt responsibility across roles and additional internal communication on social responsibility for devolved public procurement contexts.
