Humorous coverage of political events which has been traditionally been written by reporters for the amusement of only their peers, has been ending up on internet weblogs, to the embarrass ment of journalists and politicians.

President George W. Bush of United States and President Vladimir Putin of Russia met in Slovakia in international negotiation. Mr. Bush agreed to back Russia's bid to become a member of the World Trade Organization and Mr. Putin in turn agreed to a cooperative nuclear armaments program and improve transparency in the investment and business community. Mr. Putin also promised to continue with the democratization of Russia.

The U.S. military is holding press tours of the prison facilities at Guantanamo Naval Base in an effort to show that treatment and interrogation methods are more humane than those used at Abu Ghraib, Iraq.
