Since its discovery in 2008, the Andromeda galaxy nova M31N 2008-12a has been observed in eruption every single year. This unprecedented frequency indicates an extreme object, with a massive white dwarf and a high accretion rate, which is the most promising candidate for the single-degenerate progenitor of a type-Ia supernova known to date. The previous three eruptions of M31N 2008-12a have displayed remarkably homogeneous multi-wavelength properties: (i) From a faint peak, the optical light curve declined rapidly by two magnitudes in less than two days; (ii) Early spectra showed initial high velocities that slowed down significantly within days and displayed clear He/N lines throughout; (iii) The supersoft X-ray source (SSS) phase of the nova began extremely early, six days after eruption, and only lasted for about two weeks. In contrast, the peculiar 2016 eruption was clearly different. Here we report (i) the considerable delay in the 2016 eruption date, (ii) the significantly shorter SSS phase, and (iii) the brighter optical peak magnitude (with a hitherto unobserved cusp shape). Early theoretical models suggest that these three different effects can be consistently understood as caused by a lower quiescence mass-accretion rate. The corresponding higher ignition mass caused a brighter peak in the free-free emission model. The less-massive accretion disk experienced greater disruption, consequently delaying re-establishment of effective accretion. Without the early refueling, the SSS phase was shortened. The types of instability in the interacting binary stars are reviewed. The project "Inter-Longitude Astronomy" is a series of smaller projects on concrete stars or groups of stars. It has no special funds, and is supported from resources and grants of participating organizations, when informal working groups are created. Totally we studied 1900+ variable stars of different types. The characteristic timescale is from seconds to decades and (extrapolating) even more. The monitoring of the first star of our sample AM Her was initiated by Prof. V.P. Tsesevich (1907-1983). Since more than 358 ADS papers were published. Some highlights of our photometric and photo-polarimetric monitoring and mathematical modelling of interacting binary stars of different types are presented: classical, asynchronous, intermediate polars and magnetic dwarf novae (DO Dra) with 25 timescales corresponding to different physical mechanisms and their combinations (part "Polar"); negative and positive superhumpers in nova-like and many dwarf novae stars ("Superhumper"); eclipsing "non-magnetic" cataclysmic variables; symbiotic systems ("Symbiosis"); super-soft sources (SSS, QR And); spotted (and not spotted) eclipsing variables with (and without) evidence for a current mass transfer ("Eclipser") with a special emphasis on systems with a direct impact of the stream into the gainer star's atmosphere, or V361 Lyr-type stars. Other parts of the ILA project are "Stellar Bell" (interesting pulsating variables of different types and periods - M, SR, RV Tau, RR Lyr, Delta Sct) and "Novice"(="New Variable") discoveries and classification with a subsequent monitoring for searching and studying possible multiple components of variability. We present an analysis of photometric observations of the eclipsing novalike variable DW UMa made by the CBA consortium between 1999 and 2015. Analysis of 372 new and 260 previously published eclipse timings reveals a 13.6 year period or quasi-period in the times of minimum light. The seasonal light curves show a complex spectrum of periodic signals: both positive and negative superhumps, likely arising from a prograde apsidal precession and a retrograde nodal precession of the accretion disc. These signals appear most prominently and famously as sidebands of the orbital frequency but the precession frequencies themselves, at 0.40 and 0.22 cycles per day, are also seen directly in the power spectrum. The superhumps are sometimes seen together and sometimes separately. The depth, width and skew of eclipses are all modulated in phase with both nodal and apsidal precession of the tilted and eccentric accretion disc. The superhumps, or more correctly the precessional motions which produce them, may be essential to understanding the mysterious SW Sextantis syndrome. Disc wobble and eccentricity can both produce Doppler signatures inconsistent with the true dynamical motions in the binary, and disc wobble might boost the mass-transfer rate by enabling the hot white dwarf to directly irradiate the secondary star., Comment: 16 pages, 19 figures, accepted for publication in MNRAS

We report the results of a long campaign of time-series photometry on the nova-like variable UX Ursae Majoris during 2015. It spanned 150 nights, with ~1800 hours of coverage on 121 separate nights. The star was in its normal `high state' near magnitude V=13, with slow waves in the light curve and eclipses every 4.72 hours. Remarkably, the star also showed a nearly sinusoidal signal with a full amplitude of 0.44 mag and a period of 3.680 +/- 0.007 d. We interpret this as the signature of a retrograde precession (wobble) of the accretion disc. The same period is manifest as a +/-33 s wobble in the timings of mid-eclipse, indicating that the disc's centre of light moves with this period. The star also showed strong `negative superhumps' at frequencies w_orb+N and 2w_orb+N, where w_orb and N are respectively the orbital and precession frequencies. We report extensive photometry of the frequently outbursting dwarf nova RZ Leo Minoris. During two seasons of observations we detected 12 superoutbursts and 7 normal outbursts. The V magnitude of the star varied in range from 16.5 to 13.9 mag. The superoutbursts occur quite regularly flashing every 19.07(4) days and lasting slightly over 10 days. The average interval between two successive normal outbursts is 4.027(3) days. The mean superhump period observed during the superoutbursts is 0.059396(4) days (85.530(6) min). The period of the superhumps was constant except for one superoutburst when it increased with a rate of $\dot P/P_{\rm sh} = 7.6(1.9)\cdot 10^{-5}$. Our observations indicate that RZ LMi goes into long intervals of showing permanent superhumps which are observed both in superoutbursts and quiescence. This may indicate that decoupling of thermal and tidal instabilities play important role in ER UMa systems. No periodic light variations which can be connected with orbital period of the binary were seen, thus the mass ratio and evolutionary status of RZ LMi are still unknown., Comment: 20 pages, 15 figures, accepted for publication in Acta Astronomica

We report extensive photometry of the dwarf nova V660 Herculis. During our campaign, lasting from August 2003 to November 2004, we recorded one bright eruption which turned out to be a superoutburst lasting about 15 days and having amplitude of ~4.5 mag. Clear superhumps with a mean period of Psh = 0.080924(18) days were present during all nights of the superoutburst. The period of the superhumps was not stable and in the interval covered by our observations it decreased with a rate of -4.0(1.4) * 10^{-5}. Basing on our data and the known orbital period of the binary (Thorstensen and Fenton 2003) we calculate the period excess of 3.4 +/- 0.1%, which is typical for an SU UMa star at this orbital period. We report extensive multi-station photometry of TT Boo during its June 2004 superoutburst. The amplitude of the superoutburst was about 5.5 mag and its length over 22 days. The star showed a small re-brightening starting around the 9th day of the superoutburst. During entire bright state we observed clear superhumps with amplitudes from 0.07 to 0.26 mag and a mean period of Psh = 0.0779589(47) days (112.261 +/- 0.007 min). The period was not constant but decreased at the beginning and the end of superoutburst yet increased in the middle phase. We argue that the complicated shape of the O-C diagram is caused by real period changes rather than by phase shifts. Combining the data from two superoutbursts from 1989 and 2004 allowed us to trace the birth of the late superhumps and we conclude that it is a rather quick process lasting about one day., Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Acta Astronomica

We report on the results of the QW Ser campaign which has been continued from 2000 to 2003 by the VSNET collaboration team. Four long outbursts and many short ones were caught during this period. Our intensive photometric observations revealed superhumps with a period of 0.07700(4) d during all four superoutbursts, proving the SU UMa nature of this star. The recurrence cycles of the normal outbursts and the superoutbursts were measured to be $\sim$50 days and 240(30) days, respectively. The change rate of the superhump period was -5.8x10^{-5}. The distance and the X-ray luminosity in the range of 0.5-2.4 keV are estimated to be 380(60) pc and log L_x = 31.0 \pm 0.1 erg s^{-1}. After 10 years of quiescence, HV Vir underwent a superoutburst in January 2002. We report time-series observations clearly revealing the period change of ordinary superhumps during the superoutburst. We derived a mean superhump period of 0.058260 d and a positive period derivative of $7 \times 10^{-5}$. These results are in good agreement with the value obtained from the 1992 superoutburst. We also detected early superhumps, which were not clearly recognized in the past outburst, and a possible rebrightening. An intensive photometric-observation campaign of the recently discovered SU UMa-type dwarf nova, Var73 Dra was conducted from 2002 August to 2003 February. We caught three superoutbursts in 2002 October, December and 2003 February. The recurrence cycle of the superoutburst (supercycle) is indicated to be $\sim$60 d, the shortest among the values known so far in SU UMa stars and close to those of ER UMa stars. The superhump periods measured during the first two superoutbursts were 0.104885(93) d, and 0.10623(16) d, respectively. A 0.10424(3)-d periodicity was detected in quiescence. The change rate of the superhump period during the second superoutburst was $1.7\times10^{-3}$, which is an order of magnitude larger than the largest value ever known. Outburst activity has changed from a phase of frequent normal outbursts and infrequent superoutbursts in 2001 to a phase of infrequent normal outbursts and frequent superoutbursts in 2002. Our observations are negative to an idea that this star is an related object to ER UMa stars in terms of the duty cycle of the superoutburst and the recurrence cycle of the normal outburst. However, to trace the superhump evolution throughout a superoutburst, and from quiescence more effectively, may give a fruitful result on this matter., Comment: 9 pages, 8 figures, submitted to A&A
