But having a good golf buddy provides another important benefit. Practicing by oneself is nice (and peaceful), but some help from a friend helps to get better and faster. The best thing 100-shooting golf buddies can do for each other is reinforcing good preswing fundamentals. Buddies in golf increases the variety of training aids one can use and also one can get two kinds of feedback.

Short shots are the quickest route to an improved game. There are a lot of people who practice but don't progress. The golfers who get better are the ones who make a sustained, systematic commitment to seeing how good they can get. They don't put limits on themselves. One can have a general goal to get better every day, every month and every year. But the more specific one can get, the better. Charting one's rounds is a revealing way to find out chances of losing strokes. As one gets better it takes more time and effort to keep getting better. The key is to keep working at it.
