We study the spontaneous scalarization of charged black holes in Einstein's gravity minimally coupled to power--Maxwell electrodynamics which, in turn, is non--minimally coupled to a real scalar field. We point out the existence of a specific power for which the scalarized solution is well-behaved, and entropically preferred in comparison to the scalar-free charged black hole solution.

In this work, we undertake a perturbative analysis of the topological non-Abelian Chern-Simons-Wong model with the aim to explicitly construct the second-order on-shell action. The resulting action is a topological quantity depending solely on closed curves, so it correspond to an analytical expression of a link invariant. Additionally, we construct an Abelian model that reproduces the same second-order on-shell action as its non-Abelian Chern-Simons-Wong counterpart so it functions as an intermediate model, featuring Abelian fields generated by currents supported on closed paths. By geometrically analyzing each term, we demonstrate that this topological invariant effectively detects the knotting of a four-component link.

In this work, we analyze the behavior of light and matter as they pass near and through a traversable wormhole. In particular, we study the trajectories of massive and massless particles and the dust accretion around a traversable wormhole previously reported in Eur. Phys. J. C \textbf{82} (2022) no.7, 605. For massive particles, we integrate the trajectory equation for ingoing and outgoing geodesics and classify the orbits of particles scattered by the wormhole in accordance with their asymptotic behavior far from the throat. We represent all the time--like trajectories in an embedding surface where it is shown explicitly the trajectories of i) particles that deviate from the throat and remain in the same universe, ii) particles that traverse the wormhole to another universe, and iii) particles that get trapped in the wormhole in unstable circular orbits. For the massless particles, we numerically integrate the trajectory equation to show the ray-tracing around the wormhole specifying the particles that traverse the wormhole and those that are only deviated by the throat. For the study of accretion, we consider the steady and spherically symmetric accretion of dust. Our results show that the wormhole parameters can significantly affect the behavior of light and matter near the wormhole. Some comparisons with the behavior of matter around black holes are made.

In this work, we construct a fractional matter sector for general relativity. In particular, we propose a suitable fractional anisotropy function relating both the tangential and radial pressure of a spherically symmetric fluid based on the Gr\"unwald-Letnikov fractional derivative. The system is closed by implementing the polytropic equation of state for the radial pressure. We solve the system of integro-differential equations by Euler's method and explore the behavior of the physical quantities, namely, the normalized density energy, the normalized mass function, and the compactness.

In this work, we construct a modified version of the Einstein field equations for a vacuum and spherically symmetric spacetime in terms of the Riemann-Louville fractional derivative. The main difference between our approach and other works is that we ensure that both the classical differential equations and the classical solutions are exactly recovered in the limit when the fractional parameter is turned off. We assume that the fractional equations are valid inside and near the horizon radius and match the classical solution at the horizon. Our approach resembles the Herrera--Witten strategy shown in Adv.High Energy Phys. 2018 (2018) 3839103, where the authors constructed an alternative black hole solution by assuming that inside the horizon the spacetime is hyperbolically symmetric and matches the classical spherically symmetric exterior solution at one point at the horizon. We obtain that, depending on the value of the fractional parameter, the solutions can be interpreted as a regular black hole or a gravatar. As a final step, we compute the fractional curvature scalars and show that the solution is regular everywhere inside the horizon.

We present a detailed analysis of a general relativistic static spherical symmetric distribution in which both the radial and tangential pressures follow a master polytropic equation of state that generalizes the standard treatment and avoids the appearance of singularities in the system. In particular, we find the corresponding Lane-Emden equation and integrate it for a wide range of values of the parameters involved. We explore the parameter space with the aim to find the set of parameters leading to reasonable physical solutions. Also, we considered the effect of spherically symmetric perturbations of the matter variables in order to analyze the possible apparition of cracking within the compact distribution.

In this work we construct a static and spherically symmetric black hole geometry supported by a family of generic mono-parametric sources thorough the Gravitational Decoupling. The parameter characterizing the matter sector can be interpreted as hair which cannot be associated to any global charge. Although the solution is constructed by demanding the weak energy condition, we find that the resulting matter sector satisfies all the energy conditions at and outside the horizon. We study the effect of the hair on the periastron advance and the gravitational lensing of the black hole. We estimate the best WKB order to compute the quasinormal frequencies for scalar, vector and tensor perturbation fields.

In this work we construct traversable wormholes geometries in the framework of the complexity factor. We provide the redshift function of a Casimir traversable wormhole which, in combination with a non--vanishing complexity factor, leads to a traversable wormhole with a minimum amount of exotic matter. The shape function and the embedding diagram are shown and discussed. The tidal accelerations and the time required to get through the wormholes are estimated.

In this work we use the vanishing complexity factor as a supplementary condition to construct uncharged and charged like--Durgapal models. We provide the $g_{tt}$ component of the metric of the well-known Durgapal IV and V solutions and a particular form for the anisotropy, related to the electric charge, to close the system of differential equations. The physical acceptance of the models is discussed.

We use the definition of complexity for static and self--gravitating objects to build up three physical general relativistic anisotropic models fulfilling the vanishing complexity condition which serves to provide the extra information needed to close the system of Einstein field equations. We evaluate the physical acceptability of these models by testing some of the conditions that the geometric and material sector must satisfy in order to be considered as reasonable realistic models. We present the results of this analysis by asserting that the studied cases demonstrate to be feasible and stable under the chosen set of parameters. In this work, we construct a traversable wormhole by providing a suitable embedding function ensuring the fulfilling of the flaring--out condition. The solution contains free parameters that are reduced through the study of the acceptable conditions of a traversable wormhole. We compute both the quantifier of exotic matter and the quasi--normal modes through the $13^{th}$ order WKB as a function of the remaining free parameters. We obtain that the wormhole geometry can be sustained by a finite amount of exotic matter and seems to be stable under scalar perturbations.

In this work, we introduce the {\it complexity factor} in the context of self--gravitating fluid distributions for the case of black holes by employing the Newman-Penrose formalism. In particular, by working with spherically symmetric and static AdS black holes, we show that the complexity factor can be interpreted in a natural way at the event horizon. Specifically, a thermodynamic interpretation for the aforementioned complexity factor in terms of a pressure partially supporting a Van der Waals-like equation of state is given.

In this work we propose a novel approach to integrate the Lane-Emden equations for relativistic anisotropic polytropes. We take advantage of the fact that Gravitational Decoupling allows to decrease the number of degrees of freedom once a well known solution of the Einstein field equations is provided as a seed so after demanding the polytropic equation for the radial pressure the system is automatically closed. The approach not only allows to extend both isotropic or anisotropic known solutions but simplifies the computation of the Tolman mass whenever the Minimal Geometric Deformation is considered given that the $g_{tt}$ component of the metric remains unchanged. In this work, we construct stellar models ba-\break sed on the complexity factor as a supplementary condition which allows to close the system of differential equations arising from the Gravitational Decoupling. The assumed complexity is a generalization of the one obtained from the well known Tolman IV solution. We use Tolman IV, Wyman IIa, Durgapal IV and Heintzmann IIa as seeds solutions. Reported compactness parameters of SMC X-1 and Cen X-3 are used to study the physical acceptability of the models. We discuss the effect that small fluctuations of both local anisotropy and energy density, may have on the occurrence of cracking in spherical compact objects satisfying a polytropic equation of state. A systematic scheme to bring the fluid configurations out of hydrostatic equilibrium is revisited. Various models of polytropes are considered and it is shown that departures from equilibrium may lead to the appearance of cracking for a wide range of values of the parameters involved. In this work we analyse the stability of self gravitating spheres in the context of gravitational cracking. Besides exploring the role played by the anisotropy in the occurrence of cracking, we also study the effect of the complexity factor recently introduced by L. Herrera in Phys. Rev. D 97, 044010 (2018). The models under study correspond to anisotropic solutions obtained in the framework of the Gravitational Decoupling. The effect that the variation of the decoupling parameter and the compactness of the source have on the behaviour of the radial force is studied in detail.

In a recent paper (Phys. Dark Univ. {\bf 31}, 100744 (2021)) it has been obtained new static black hole solutions with primary hairs by the Gravitational Decoupling. In this work we either study the geodesic motion of massive and massless particles around those solutions and restrict the values of the primary hairs by observational data. In particular, we obtain the effective potential, the innermost stable circular orbits, the marginally bounded orbit, and the periastron advance for time--like geodesics. In order to restrict the values taken by the primary hairs we explore their relationship with the rotation parameter of the Kerr black hole giving the same innermost stable circular orbit radius and give the numerical values for the supermassive black holes at Ark 564 and NGC 1365. The photon sphere and the impact parameter associated to null geodesics are also discussed.

We interpret the cosmological constant as the energy of the vacuum, and under a minimum amount of assumptions, we show that it is deformed in the vicinity of a black hole. This leads us to reexamine the Kerr-de Sitter solution. We provide a new solution, simpler and geometrically richer, which shows the impact of the rotation in form of a warped curvature. We carry out a detailed and exact study on the new black hole solution, and we conclude with a conjecture regarding the possible impact of our results on alternative theories., Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures

In this work we study class I interior solutions supported by anisotropic polytropes. The generalized Lane--Emden equation compatible with the embedding condition is obtained and solved for a different set of parameters in both the isothermal and non--isothermal regimes. For completeness, the Tolman mass is computed and analysed to some extend. As a complementary study we consider the impact of the Karmarkar condition on the mass and the Tolman mass functions respectively. Comparison with other results in literature are discussed.

We introduce a systematic and direct procedure to generate hairy rotating black holes by deforming a spherically symmetric seed solution. We develop our analysis in the context of the gravitational decoupling approach, without resorting to the Newman-Janis algorithm. As examples of possible applications, we investigate how the Kerr black hole solution is modified by a surrounding fluid with conserved energy-momentum tensor. We find non-trivial extensions of the Kerr and Kerr-Newman black holes with primary hair. We prove that a rotating and charged black hole can have the same horizon as Kerr's, Schwarzschild's or Reissner-Nordstr\"om's, thus showing possible observational effects of matter around black holes., Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures

In this work, motivated by the fact that higher-dimensional theories predict the existence of black holes which differ from their four-dimensional counterpart, we analyse the geodesics and black hole shadow cast by a general non-extremal five-dimensional black hole. A general formalism recently proposed to study Newtonian polytropes for anisotropic fluids is here extended to the relativistic regime. Thus, it is assumed that a polytropic equation of state is satisfied by, both, the radial and the tangential pressures of the fluid. Black holes with hair represented by generic fields surrounding the central source of the vacuum Schwarzschild metric are examined under the minimal set of requirements consisting of i) the existence of a well defined event horizon and ii) the strong or dominant energy condition for the hair outside the horizon. We develop our analysis by means of the gravitational decoupling approach. We find that trivial deformations of the seed Schwarzschild vacuum preserve the energy conditions and provide a new mechanism to evade the no-hair theorem based on a primary hair associated with the charge generating these transformations. Under the above conditions i) and ii), this charge consistently increases the entropy from the minimum value given by the Schwarzschild geometry. As a direct application, we find a non-trivial extension of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole showing a surprisingly simple horizon. In this work we explore the connections between Newman-Penrose scalars, including the Penrose-Rindler $\mathcal{K}$-curvature, with the equation of state of asymptotically Anti-de Sitter Reissner-Nordstr\"om black holes. After briefly reviewing the equation of state for these black holes from the point of view of both the Extended Phase Space and the Horizon Thermodynamics approaches, a geometric splitting is given for such an equation in terms of the non vanishing Newman-Penrose scalars which define the $\mathcal{K}$-curvature at the horizon. From this splitting, a possible thermodynamical interpretation is developed for such scalars in the context of the black hole thermodynamics approaches initially discussed. Afterwards, the square root of the Bel-Robinson tensor is employed to propose conditions at the horizons in terms of pressures or energy densities, which can be understood as alternative thermodynamical definitions of these surfaces., Comment: 11 pages

In this work, starting from a spherically symmetric polytropic black hole, a rotating solution is obtained by following the Newman--Janis algorithm without complexification. An algorithm presented by K. Lake to obtain all static spherically symmetric perfect fluid solutions was recently extended by L. Herrera to the interesting case of locally anisotropic fluids (principal stresses unequal). In this work we develop an algorithm to construct all static spherically symmetric anisotropic solutions for general relativistic polytropes. Again the formalism requires the knowledge of only one function (instead of two) to generate all possible solutions. In this work we extend the so--called Minimal Geometric Deformation method in $2+1$ dimensional space--times with cosmological constant in order to deal with the gravitational decoupling of two circularly symmetric sources. We find that, even though the system here studied is lower dimensional and it includes the cosmological constant, the conditions for gravitational decoupling of two circularly symmetric sources coincides with those found in the $3+1$ dimensional case. We obtain that, under certain circumstances, the extended gravitational decoupling leads to the decoupling of the sources involved in the sense that both the isotropic and the anisotropic sector satisfy Einstein's field equations and the final solution corresponds to a non-linear superposition of two metric components. As particular examples, we implement the method to generate an exterior charged BTZ solution starting from the BTZ vacuum as the isotropic sector and new $2+1$ black hole solutions imposing a barotropic equation of state for the anisotropic sector. In this work, we investigate five-dimensional scale-dependent black hole solutions by modelling their event horizon with some of the eight Thurston three-dimensional geometries. Specifically, we construct constant curvature scale-dependent black holes and also the more exotic scale-dependent Solv black hole. These new solutions are obtained by promoting both the gravitational and the cosmological couplings to $r$-dependent functions, in light of a particular description of the effective action inspired by the high energy philosophy. Interestingly, the so-called running parameter, together with the topology of the event horizon, control the asymptotic structure of the solutions found. In this work we implement the Minimal Geometric Deformation decoupling method to obtain general static interior solutions for a BTZ vacuum from the most general isotropic solution in $2+1$ dimensions including the cosmological constant $\Lambda$. We obtain that the general solution can be generated only by the energy density of the original isotropic sector, so that this quantity plays the role of a generating function. In this work we present a technique to obtain bounds on the generalized uncertainty principle deformation parameter by using an improved Schwarzschild solution represented by the Hayward metric in the context of scale--dependent gravity. In the present work, we study for the first time a scale--dependent gravitational theory in a cosmological context in a matter--dominated era. In particular, starting from the Einstein Hilbert action with cosmological constant assuming scale--dependent couplings, we derive the corresponding effective Friedmann equations for the model and we solve them. We analyse in detail our results by comparing them with observational $\Lambda$CDM data as well as the very well-known running vacuum models. In this work, both extended phase space and holographic equipartition approaches are employed to develop an exact Van der Waals description of non--rotating $D=4$ SAdS black holes as an ensemble of spacetime atoms. After a possible microscopical interaction model is introduced, statistical mechanics techniques, with certain heuristic gravitational constraints, are used to derive the equation of state and the Bekenstein--Hawking entropy.
