Young girl's dress is made of white cotton woven with a tiny diamond pattern and printed with two-tone pink circles. The neckline is very wide and the short sleeves are gathered at the top of the shoulder; the openings are edged with narrow bobbin lace. The bodice is gathered into the neckband and slightly gathered into the waistband. The very full skirt is gathered into the waistband.

Young girl's pantalets of plain, white cotton with checked white cotton extensions on the legs are gathered into a plain, straight bodice with shoulder straps. The garment appears to have originally extended only to the length of the plain cotton legs, as there are old needle holes; the checkerboard-patterned extensions were apparently added as the child grew. The bottoms of the legs are edged with a strip of scalloped embroidery.

Boy's pants of white cotton have a high waistline and suspenders. The pants are gathered across the back, but are smooth in front. The suspenders are stitched to the pants in the back, and originally had buttons (now missing) on the loose ends for buttoning to the front. The pants are open on each side for about six inches and fasten with ties at the top. The legs and suspenders have been lengthened.

Black silk mourning dress has a high round neckline, dropped shoulder, and slightly high waistline. The skirt is flat in front and pleated around the hips and back. Piecing together of the fabric and former stitching marks indicate that the skirt was remade or the fabric was reused.

Amos Avery of Coventry in 1778 and James Benjamin of Hartford in 1780 attested to their service during the war and enumerated the supplies they received from their respective towns--shoes, stockings and shirts. Order for payment of one pound interest on the staet debt, issued to William Williams, is signed by Oliver Wolcott, Jr., 1789.
