Mountain areas face various problems such as environmental degradation, deforestation, unsustainable agricultural expansion, soil erosion, coupled with the loss of traditional knowledge, among others, which has become the focus of concern and reflection of both theoretical and practical discourse, due to the environmental, economic and social deterioration they have experienced. Higher Education in Cuba plays a very important role in the face of these problems, by contributing, through scientific means, to their solution. The following original research has as its objective to implement agroforestry resilience actions in mountainous areas from community projects with the Municipal University Center of Remedios in the province of Villa Clara, Cuba. The methodology used was participatory action research, using theoretical methods such as synthetic analytical and historical-logical, empirical methods such as document analysis, observation, interviews, which allowed recording the information directly from the subjects studied and workshops with brainstorming techniques in the dynamics of the research. The results have been structured in the foundation of the conceptual elements necessary to clarify the object of study, main needs and potentialities of the mountainous area studied, as well as agroforestry resilience actions, which allowed greater public participation in the community context in the management of its natural resources, aimed at contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030) and one of the strategic axes within the National Economic and Social Development Plan of Cuba. The interrelation between community environmental education and local development prepares the individual to be able to improve his or her relationship with the natural environment, and thus the way of thinking and acting. The purpose of this work was to design strategic actions of environmental education for the local development of the "Alvarito Díaz" community, highlighting the links that make possible a socially responsible action in the natural environment, with a view to sustainable local development. A descriptive observational study was carried out with the application of theoretical and empirical methods, and the application of the SWOT matrix to obtain a general perspective of the local situation. As a result, an environmental strategy was designed with a series of elements based on the system approach, which proposes actions to develop strengths, reduce weaknesses, locate and take advantage of opportunities and reduce the threats encountered. Its design had a high level of satisfaction on the part of the users to provide new ways to generate significant changes in behavior and development through training and education of the different social actors. This paper aims to analyse the story "Biopolítica", by Luis Carlos Barragán Castro. After a presentation of the Colombian writer and his work, the manuscript reflects theoretically on the notions of New Weird -supposed story's genre- and symbiosis, in addition to discussing the misunderstandings surrounding anarchism. Indeed, Barragán's text offers an original and updated vision of anarchism thanks to its treatment trough the symbiosis's theme. This union between both concepts is the object of the textual analysis that is proposed later and whose purpose is to problematize the construction, in the story, of a utopian community. SOCIAL participation , *LEGAL education (Higher) , *UNIVERSITIES & colleges , *SOCIAL history , *DECISION making , *COMMUNITY involvement - Abstract
This article seeks to reflect on the university and the community in which it is located. On the one hand, emphasis is given to the training offer and the possibilities that are offered to future students. On the other hand, it analyses the possibilities for social participation in the community in which they are located. In this sense, it examines the processes relating to the establishment of the university in Mozambique and its evolution, as well as the vacancies available for its attendance. The research has an exploratory and descriptive nature whose motto is based on documentary and bibliographical research. The results indicate that the majority of places (58.4%) made available by higher education institutions with the legal name of university are reserved for a modality that involves the payment of fees and/or monthly fees, which, in a certain way, means the collapse of the public to give way to silent privatization. Furthermore, this privatist trend is carried out without considering the social condition of many students, which makes it an exclusionary institution. It is concluded, therefore, that there is a need for greater participation in the decision-making process for intercession between the university and its community, thus allowing greater social participation. This study aims to analyse how a model of tourism planning from a rural community, endogenous and participatory approach can become a strategy for the appropriation and defence of the territory in the municipality of Sibaté. The methodological horizon was oriented from a qualitative approach Páramo (2013) and the method used was the ethnography of places Vergara (2013). The information was systematised and analysed using the qualitative analysis software ATLAS.ti. The findings indicate that municipal development plans can be instruments of territorial defence, to the extent that the communities, their needs and goals are integrated. It is concluded that tourism as a development model can generate significant transformations in rural territories as long as they are inclusive, concerted and participatory, in order to achieve consensus between society and nature.

EDUCATIONAL psychology , *MENTAL health promotion , *SUSTAINABLE development , *PRIVATE networks , *VIOLENCE prevention - Abstract
This is an experience report of three extension projects in school and educational psychology and human development. One project developed interventions with mothers, another with teacher-students, and the third with basic education teachers from public and private networks. The experience report method was used, presenting the characteristics, objectives, and target audience of the projects, followed by a critical discussion about the projects and their relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), focusing on SDG 4, and how they enable their achievement. The projects received positive feedback from participants, relating to the promotion of mental health, the creation of a culture of non-coercive education, commitment to community development by carrying out actions to promote a culture of violence prevention in schools, and encouraging the basic competencies necessary in psychologist training. It is worth noting that two projects were carried out in a pandemic context, where several new demands that could be addressed with the help of knowledge created in the university. The extension activities of these projects fostered the interrelationship between the community and the university in line with SDG 4, quality education, of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development. RAGPICKERS , *ENVIRONMENTAL education , *QUALITY of life , *WASTE management , *GROUNDED theory - Abstract
Introduction. In Colombia during the last few years, recycling and environmental education have gained relevance. Educational campaigns have made visible the problem of not managing waste correctly and the effects caused by the lack of environmental education. Waste pickers have played a significant role in waste management, dedicating part of their time to training and educating others; however, there is still a lack of awareness in the communities about the social relevance of this profession. Objective. To understand the experiences of waste pickers and the impact of their trade on the communities' awareness of environmental care. Materials and methods. A qualitative study was conducted with the participation of eight waste pickers from the city of Cartagena. A semi-structured interview was used for data collection and the information was analyzed taking into account the grounded theory with the support of the NVivo program version 10.0. Results. Being a waste picker is considered a stable job and the main source of income; the participants express the support received from their families. For them, environmental education begins in homes and schools from childhood. Despite the improvement in the quality of life as a result of the profession, there are still social prejudices and little recognition. Conclusions. It is necessary to build an integral vision of the problem in which the government and different organizations participate in actions that promote environmental education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Research on the nature and role of territoriality in local industrial systems has intensified since the late 1960s when the Marshallian notion of industrial district (id) was recovered, which introduced it as a double reality, geographical and cultural, with a role as decisive as it is difficult to define. Within this framework, the paper proposes, on the one hand, to analyze the evolution of territoriality as a dimension inherent to id. It develops its conceptual metamorphosis from the difficulties that emerged in its articulation with the capitalist relations of production. On the other hand, we seek to contribute to a rework of this issue based on id in peripheral spaces. We try to show how, in the specificity of the periphery, the id had to open itself to the influence of extra-local relations and it exposed the need for a redefinition of territoriality as a social relation producer of multiple scales, articulated with the a-spatial deployment of capitalist relations of production. The notion of id is reworked in this context as a specific and qualitatively different socioeconomic formation, related to the accumulation process and its scalar articulation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BLOCK codes , *INTERNET access , *BLOOD pressure , *MEDICAL care , *TELEMEDICINE - Abstract
This paper presents the design of a portable electrocardiograph designed to provide community health care. The AD8232 main sensor has multiple options for displaying cardiac activity. The first option uses the serial plotter in the Arduino IDE, while the second employs LabVIEW, allowing additional observation of the patient's blood pressure via block coding. In addition, the Arduino cloud is integrated to process the information captured by the ESP32, enabling visualization on any device with internet access. Through this platform, it is possible to download the studies performed in different periods (1 hour, 1 day, 7 days, and 15 days), with an efficiency percentage of 4.11%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main objective of this research is the qualitative analysis of the narratives on democratic education in the official curriculum of Spanish History in the 2nd year of the Baccalaureate. In order to achieve this objective, a critical discourse analysis (CDA) and an instrument designed ad hoc for the research were applied. The results show that the Spanish curriculum contains a neutral description of democratic education without judgement of the social groups represented, although there is an underlying discourse that tends ideologically towards the values of social democracy.
