BACKGROUND: The transition from paper-based to electronic-based processes is an ongoing issue in all health systems with varying levels of maturity and progress throughout the world. Hospitals are increasingly transitioning to digital medical records and paperless workflows. As medical administrators tackle the challenge of ensuring computer systems and hardware meet the needs of the staff hospital environment, it is essential to adopt a systematic and well-informed approach to allocate different wards with computing devices based on staffing numbers, patient occupancy, and patient flow requirements. GOAL: To review existing literature and develop a framework for determining the necessary computing resources for a hospital ward to operate effectively. METHODS: A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA process and relevant publications were identified, covering data from 1946 to January 2022. Only articles in English were included, and any articles relating to software development and digital medical records were excluded. The quality of the studies included was assessed using the Johanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Checklist for Qualitative Research. A search of grey literature was also conducted due to the paucity of search results, for a total of 14 included studies. Additionally, we mapped the workflow in clinical wards. Drawing insights from a multivariate analysis based on this mapping and literature review, we formulated and validated a framework for hospitals to strategically plan computer usage and optimise ward workflows. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: We propose a framework based on the number and skills of a mix of staff, patient turnover and the extent of computerised tasks. Whilst individual hospitals will differ in computing and technology utilisation, our proposed framework can be adapted to suit unique needs. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: A similar framework can be used to implement computers across various health services. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the presence of neck pain, which is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders in nurses, in terms of different work environments, and also to assess the possible relationships of ergonomic, demographic, and psychological factors on their neck pain. Materials and Methods: Female nurses from our university hospital that worked in outpatient clinics, wards and intensive care units were included in this cross-sectional study. It was carried out between February and July 2020 in different departments of our university. Patient demographics as well as duration and characteristics of neck pain, Short form-36 (SF-36) questionnaire scores were recorded. The United States Census Bureau estimates there were 5,793,873 children living in "grandfamilies" in 2021. Children reside with a grandparent caregiver when a parent is unwilling or unable to care for their child, which often overlaps with traumatic experiences. These children are also at risk of developing disrupted attachment due to the separation. Increased exposure to traumatic events and disrupted attachment are linked with emotional issues in children, including feelings of loneliness. Increased traumatic experiences in childhood were linked with problematic internet use in emerging adulthood to cope with feelings of loneliness. Data from the second wave in the national Health Behavior in School-aged Children (HBSC) study was used to explore this hypothesis (N= 12638; 1.9% grandchildren; M age = 12.95). Moderation analyses indicated the overall model was significant and accounted for 9% of the variance (R²=0.09, p < 0.01.). The moderation of household type was not significant, but the relation between loneliness and the number of hours spent on the computer was significant (b = 5.1, t(237) = 2.38, p < 0.01). The results show that while there is a significant relation between the children's feelings of loneliness and the number of hours they spend on the computer daily, there was no significant difference between types of family units. Children with feelings of loneliness may use computers as a coping mechanism broadly, regardless of their family system. Targeted interventions to provide safe internet usage for children experiencing loneliness should be explored. Introduction- Neck pain is a most common complaint that we deal in the orthopedics OPD; most of which are IT professionals. In these individuals the incidence of forward head posture is high probably because of their vocational mismanagement. Materials and methods- A cross-sectional study was carried out from January 2019 to June 2019 during which total of 300 patients were taken into study. Clinical assessment of neck pain, head posture, range of motion and radiological assessment of Craniovertebral angle and anterior head translation was done. Results- Out of 300 patients, the major chunk was of males. On an average males used computers for 9.6 hours as compared to 9.2 hours of females. The average CVA was more in females (58.8). The average AHT was more in males (22.9). Discussion- As compared with the previous literature, our study showed 84.3% of males and 92.91 % of female participants had FHP. CVA was lower, while AHT was higher in both groups than the usual range. The mean anterior head translation in our sample was 18.8 mm, that was been found to be aberrant in prior research study. Conclusion- In our study we have found a negative correlation between the craniovertebral angle and anterior head translation resulting in forward head posture which can furthermore lead to early changes of cervical spondylosis in IT employees probably due to long hours of desktop usage resulting in fixed postural habit.

Eye-gaze assistive technology offers children with severe motor and communication difficulties the opportunity to access and control a computer through eye movements. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of eye-gaze assistive technology intervention on participation in computer activities and technology usability among children with complex needs in Taiwan. This study involved a multiple baseline design across individuals. The participants were four children aged three to six years with severe motor and communication difficulties and low eye-control skills. The six-month intervention consisted of two collaborative team meetings and 12 individual supports to facilitate the use of eye-gaze assistive technology at home or in educational environments. Participation in computer activities (diversity, frequency, and duration) was repeatedly measured through a computer use diary. Other outcomes included assessments of goal achievements and parents/teachers' ratings on children's performance in computer activities. The young children increased the diversity of their computer activities and their frequency and duration of computer use from baseline to the intervention phase. The children attained six of eight predefined goals related to play, communication, and school learning. Parents and teachers perceived the children's changes in performance as meaningful. This study strengthens the evidence that eye-gaze assistive technology is useful in everyday contexts for children with complex needs in Taiwan. The findings add knowledge that children with weak eye-control skills increased participation in computer activities as a result of the eye-gaze assistive technology. Eye-gaze assistive technology (EGAT) as an access method to control a computer can provide opportunities for children with severe motor and communication difficulties to participate in computer activities. Children with severe motor and communication difficulties and low eye-control skills with sufficient practice can learn to use EGAT for communication and learning, with support from stakeholders and collaborative service. EGAT could be introduced for children with complex needs at early ages as a means of using computers for play, communication, and school learning, which could be helpful for later education and learning. Stakeholders in educational environments could include EGAT in educational computer systems so that pupils with severe motor and communication difficulties could interact with a computer, thereby enhancing their engagement and learning. Objective - This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and impact of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) among Malaysian university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology/Technique - The Health Belief Model (HBM) was used to understand the determinants of CVS-related health behaviors. The study enlisted the participation of 387 students from three Malaysian universities, and most respondents were Malay women under the age of 20. Findings - According to the Findings, many students devote more time to digital devices for online classes and assignments, resulting in high CVS symptoms. The most frequently reported symptoms were neck pain, back pain, tired eyes, and headaches. These Findings emphasize the critical need for preventative measures to reduce the risk of CVS worsening, especially given the increased use of digital devices in online education. Novelty - This study underscores the pressing need for implementing preventive measures to curtail vamong university students, particularly in the burgeoning use of digital devices in online education. Moreover, the investigation illuminates the salient CVS symptoms frequently reported by university students, thereby providing valuable insights for devising targeted interventions that can effectively alleviate the detrimental impact of CVS on their health. The use of computers is increasing in the field of education which puts teachers at higher risk of CVS. The severity of CVS symptoms can affect teachers' quality of life and productivity. Aim: This study aims to estimate the prevalence of CVS and its symptoms among Riyadh high school teachers in 2020. The secondary objectives were to determine the factors associated with CVS among high school teachers and to compare between the symptoms of CVS in male and female school teachers. Subjects and Methods: This is an observational cross-sectional study. Data were collected by self-administered questionnaire from teachers working in public high schools in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, using a multistage random sampling technique. Data analysis including descriptive statistics and Chi-square test was performed using SPSS. Results: The prevalence of experiencing one or more symptoms of CVS among high school teachers was 94.6%. The most common symptom was neck and shoulder pain, reported by 84.9% of high school teachers. Male teachers were 80% less likely to have CVS (odds ratio [OR] = 0.213, 95% confidence interval [CI] [0.079–0.578]). The risk of CVS was higher in those who use electronic devices for more than 5 h (OR = 3.4, 95% CI [1.015–11.4]). Male teachers experienced less headache (OR = 0.504, 95% CI [0.344–0.75]), less neck and shoulder pain (OR = 0.326, 95% CI [0.186–0.57]), and less eyestrain (OR = 0.495, 95% CI [0.308–0.796]) in comparison to female teachers. Conclusion: Female high school teachers are having higher odds of developing CVS than male teachers. School teachers need awareness programs about CVS.

The aim of the study was to investigate secondary school students' and teachers' access to information technologies in Turkey by making interregional comparisons. Document analysis of the qualitative research methods was employed to analyze the reports issued by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), and the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). The results of the research revealed the importance of access to information and communication technologies for both students and teachers: 67.9% of the participating students were found to have Internet connection and 69.1% a computer in their homes, while 80.3% of the students were observed to use a computer outside the school, but 19.7% were not. The results also showed that 64.6% of the students have Internet connection in their classrooms, but 29.2% of these students do not use the Internet in the classroom, whereas 8.9% use it in the classroom all the time. The rate of students using a digital device for reading is 38.1%, while that of those not using one is 61.9%. Some 32.1% of secondary school students were revealed not to have Internet connection at home. Additionally, 77% of teachers were not trained in online teaching prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the findings, teachers can be suggested to develop projects – i.e., of TUBITAK, E-twinning, and Erasmus – which potentially encourage students to use information and communication technologies so that both teachers and students can benefit from them. It is also suggested that the Ministry of National Education should work on improving the information communication technology competencies of teachers and students. Besides, policies should be developed to eliminate regional differences in terms of access to digital resources and technology in terms of equal opportunities and opportunities. Context: Electronic devices, laptops, tablets, ipad and smart phones are an integral part of one's life both in work and personal space. Excessive usage of these devices had led to health-related problems of which computer vision syndrome (CVS) is at risk of becoming a major public health issue. Aims: Our study aimed to assess the pre-test and post-test level of knowledge regarding CVS among the medical coding trainees and also to determine the effectiveness (Video Teaching Programme) of knowledge about the CVS among them. Methods and Material: After obtaining ethical committee clearance using universal sampling method 480 medical coding trainees working in a firm was included in this study. A structured questionnaire was used to interview and a video teaching programme was given between the pre and post-test sessions for about 45 minutes regarding the effects of Computer Vision Syndrome. Results: The level of knowledge about CVS among medical coding trainees in the pre-test and post-test was 280 (58.3%) and 8 (1.7%) had inadequate knowledge, respectively. With regards to adequate level of knowledge 24 (3%) and 328 (68.3%) had in pre-test and post-test phase, respectively. The comparison of knowledge shows a very good improvement among the medical coding trainees which was significant (p < 0.001). Conclusions: The study highlights health education as an important factor in increasing the knowledge. From a primary care point of view, knowledge regarding CVS helps in differentiating and addressing the ocular symptoms, headache and shoulder pain symptoms of other aetiology if history is elicited properly. Background: Nowadays, individuals are utilizing a computer for different tasks daily and the use of computers has increased rapidly worldwide. The impact of prolonged computer usage may lead to balance problems and disturbed cervical proprioception due to faulty posture of the neck. The purpose of this was to compare the impact of prolonged computer usage on cervical proprioception and dynamic balancing ability in the male and female gender. Methods: 100 healthy adults’ computer users were recruited for the study. The subjects were classified into two groups: male computer users (n=50) and female computer users (n=50). Neck proprioceptions were assessed by Head Repositioning Accuracy (HRA) test and dynamic balances assessed by the Y Balance Test (YTB), 3 trials were performed and the mean values were calculated. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in age, weight, height, and body mass index between all subjects in the groups (p>0.05). There is significant differences between males and females participants as females had more decreased in their neck proprioception and dynamic balance ability than males (p<0.05). The male computer users showed better performance than the females. Conclusion: Prolonged usage of computers (more than four hours per day) could negatively affect cervical proprioception and dynamic balance ability in healthy adults. The results may be used to promote awareness about the normal duration of computer use and develop programs for good postural education and stretching exercises to prevent its negative effects on cervical proprioception and balance ability, especially for female computer users. Giriş: Sağlık bakım kurumlarında hemşirenin rol ve sorumlulukları teknolojinin etkisi ile değişmekte ve bireye hizmet daha kaliteli hale gelmektedir. Bilgisayarın; hemşirelerin günlük ve mesleki yaşamına hızla girmesine karşın, sağlık bakımında bilgisayar kullanımına hemşireler direnç göstermektedirler. Amaç: Hemşirelerin bilgisayar kullanım durumlarını değerlendirmektir. Yöntem: Araştırma Mart- Nisan 2015 tarihleri arasında Kastamonu Dr. Münif İslamoğlu Devlet Hastanesi, Kastamonu Dr. Münif İslamoğlu Ek Binası, Kastamonu Fizik Tedavi ve Rehabilitasyon Merkezi'nde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, bu hastanelerde çalışan 410 hemşire örneklemini ise 120 hemşire oluşmuştur. Veriler anket formu ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler (sayı ve yüzde) kullanılmıştır. Etik boyut: Çalışmanın yürütülebilmesi için kurumlardan yazılı, araştırmaya katılan bireylerden sözel onam alınmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmamıza katılan hemşireler 31-40 yaşında(%56.7), evli(%82.5) kadınlardır(%83.3). %49.2'si kliniklerde görev yapan(%90.0), 11-15 yıldır çalışan(%25.0) lisans mezunlarıdır. %96.7'sinin bilgisayarı vardır, %49.2'si orta düzeyde bilgisayar kullanmaktadır. %92.5'i bilgisayar kullanma konusunda kendini yeterli hissetmektedir. %39.2’si günde 1-3 saat, %40.8'i 10 yıldan uzun süredir bilgisayar kullanmaktadır. Hemşireler hemşirelikte bilgisayar kullanımı ile ilgili olumlu ifadelere genellikle “katılıyorum” (%27.0-%58.3) demişlerdir. Olumsuz ifadelerden “bilgisayar kullanımı hasta mahremiyetini ihmal eder” için %49.2 oranında; “sağlık bakım sisteminde bilgisayar kullanımı hemşirelerin iş yükünü arttırır” için % 44.2 oranında katılmıyorum ifadesini kullanmışlardır. Sonuç: Hemşirelerin bilgisayar kullanım oranları yüksek bulunmuştur. Ayrıca hemşireler bilgisayar kullanımı ile ilgili olumlu ifadelere genellikle “katılmıyorum” yanıtını verirken, bilgisayar kullanımı ile ilgili olumsuz ifadelere katılım durumları değişkenlik göstermektedir. Öneriler: Hemşirelerin bilgisayar kullanımı ile ilgili olumsuz ifadelere katılım durumlarının azaltılmasıyla ilgili eğitim verilmesi ve farkındalık oluşturulması önerilebilir.

This study examined the effect of digital technologies on adolescent mental health; attention deficit, aggression, depression. Furthermore, we investigated the role of parenting style and peer attachment as they might have effects on digital technologies. Using two-wave longitudinal data, we conducted longitudinal analysis from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey done in 2015 and 2016. Results showed that computer and internet usage for learning purpose has a positive effect on mental health, while computer games and social media have negative effects. Also, the positive effects of learning on depression indicated stronger in adolescents who felt less affection from their parents. On the other hand, the negative effects of computer games and social media could be moderated by both parenting style and peer attachment. Soon after the concept of a management information system was introduced in the mid-1960s, marketers tailored it to their own unique needs, naming it the marketing information system (MKIS). Several studies have been conducted of how MKISs are used in the Fortune 500 companies, and the authors compare their current findings to those of ten and eighteen years ago. It seems that both the MKIS support and the model use for the three levels of marketing management are more balanced today than ten years ago. Moreover, pricing decisions instead of product decisions are taking the lead in using the MKIS services today. Marketers have been taking advantage of developments in technology and methodology to increase the level of decision support since the 1960s. However, there is a lack of satisfaction with the MKIS among marketers today. Many firms are not linking their marketing plans with theft companywide information system plans to create competitive advantages. Under today's intense global competition, these situations must be rectified as soon as possible. One of the sciences which considers to human health, human performance and body activities is Ergonomics. Ergonomics is one of the modern sciences, drawing as much from the field as from the laboratory, and including elements of art and craft as well. Before designing the workplace it is necessary to determine its requirements, i.e., which it is intended for, what are the characteristics of the existing work equipment and the additional tools needed. However, there are some standards and with their application people will prevent the occurrence of modern office diseases. This paper is focused on the positive aspects of ergonomics in improvement of the working environment.

Social media practices encourage new approaches and visions of competence focusing on the construction of individual biography and the "invention of oneself". The new "artful skills" of "produsers" address the need to invent individual and collective responses to the sense of alienating emptiness pervading postindustrial and posttraditional societies. Combining and submission and opposition to both structuring and alienating aspects of late modernity, these produsagers actualize various tricks, tactics and immemorial schemes already mapped by various authors before the Internet. On this backdrop the author proposes a broader reinterpretation of the concept of competence.

Within the present study, an investigation with 50 older adults aged over 60 years was conducted. One aim of the study was to identify differences in usage of an internet platform for cognitive training with two different input devices. For this purpose, the subjects had to solve tasks on both PC and tablet computers. The success rate and the amount of time required to solve the tasks were recorded in a standardized manner. Additionally, participants were asked about the subjective advantages of both terminal devices and about their general preference. Overall, we found hardly significant differences in success rates and task-solving time. Contrary to other studies, where participants had to choose a defined target or perform a short specific task the older adults in the present study made nearly the same number of mistakes and needed almost the same time for solving the assigned tasks when using the PC and the tablet.

Background: Students tends to develop poor posture as their work requires prolong sitting, such as in taking lectures, working on computer, lab activities, assignments using laptops etc. Sitting for prolong periods of time in front of computer resulting in various types of muscular pain which are due to in appropriate computer ergonomics and poor body posture. The objective of the study is to evaluate the awareness of good working posture and computer ergonomics among medical students of isra university, Hyderabad. Methods: A cross sectional study has done on 100 medical students of Isra University Hyderabad. Study was convenient and self-structured questionnaire used. Data analysis was done by using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) 14 version Results: Questionnaires of 100 participants were completed and returned back for analysis (response rate of 100%). 80% students said they are aware of good posture and computer ergonomics but only 34% selected the right answer regarding good posture.66% students are habitual to use support while using computer, especially back support and ergonomic chair only.55% students said they never had their posture assessed. Conclusion: This study reveals that majority of students clamed to aware of good posture but their answerers has shown that there is lack of knowledge regarding good posture. Students are habitual to use support while sitting which is limited to use of back support and chair and still they need to know the principles of computer ergonomics regarding screen, mouse, keyboard, and overall work station.

The usage of computers in public schools helps the students learning. Computers provide ways to illustrate concepts and access to a wide range of information. However, the computers are not used in most public schools. This work intends to identify how computers are used in public schools from the Paraíba countryside. For this, we applied 735 forms for students and 134 forms for teachers. We summarized data and applied statistical tests to identify correlations among the statistical variables Knowledge in computer technology, Informatics infrastructure, and Computer usage. We found that informatics laboratories have daily usage, the majority of teachers has Internet access and computer at home, the majority of students has smartphones and they use Internet. Besides that, teachers and students that use computers have access to high informatics infrastructure and high knowledge in computers, but more than a half of the students do not have classes in the informatics laboratory. In the statistical analysis, there is no relation among variables when we analyze data from students and teachers, with exception of informatics knowledge and computer usage for students. In the education field, computer usage in teaching and learning activities among teachers have become a priority. Continuous efforts made by the government to encourage computer usage among teachers are with the aim of producing a computer literate generation as well as sensitive to the current technological developments.In line with the government is efforts to encourage the usage of computers, it is timely to conduct a research on computer usage in teaching and learning in schools. This is to gauge the level of computer usage among teachers. A case study of a group of teachers from three schools in the North-East District of Penang, namely, SMK Abdullah Munshi, SMK Bukit Gambir and SMK Datuk Hj. Mohd. Nor Ahmad, was conducted. The objectives of the study were to measure the computer usage in teaching and learning as well as the factors that influence the computer usage. The Diffusion of Innovation theory has been applied and is fundamental for this research. Using the survey method, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to a total number of 184 teachers from the respective schools. The results showed that there is no significant difference between male and female respondents, age categories and major subjects taught using computers in teaching and learning. However, factors such as knowledge, attitude, personality, support from organisations and innovation attributes of the computer (relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialibility and observability) were proven to have influenced computer usage in teaching and learning among teachers.
