Gamification involves making teaching processes fun with the intention of improving factors that affect learning, such as motivation. Although the focus is not on the game itself and the corresponding entertainment, its design and results provide an alternative for developing educational proposals that make students the protagonists and generate student engagement with their education. On that basis, this study aims to understand pre-service primary school teachers’ perceptions of gamification as an active methodology, taking the gender and time of analysis variables into account. To this end, a quantitative longitudinal panel design (pre-test and post-test) from a descriptive and inferential approach was applied. The sample consisted of 284 pre-service primary education teachers from the University of Málaga (2021/2022 academic year). The information was collected through a validated instrument that measures perceptions of both digital didactic resources and teaching methodologies. The results revealed positive perceptions of gamification as a methodology, with a significant improvement from the pre-test to post-test scores. As for the analysis of the gender variable, there were significant differences, with the male participants’ ratings of gamification being higher than those of the female participants. In conclusion, gamification constitutes a feasible methodology to implement due to being well-received by university students, as a result of its motiving and fun nature and the fact that it makes students the protagonists of the learning process.

La metodología Flipped Classroom (FC) permite una reorganización de los tiempos en el aula y fuera de ella. Para el trabajo asíncrono, cuando el contenido de la materia es más reflexivo, se pueden utilizar como recurso didáctico las instantáneas culturales, una combinación de cine, música y literatura. El objetivo de esta investigación fue conocer las percepciones de futuros docentes sobre el FC utilizando instantáneas culturales. Se utilizó un diseño cuantitativo de panel longitudinal (pre-test y post-test) con un enfoque descriptivo e inferencial. La muestra la conformaron 111 futuros docentes de la Universidad de Málaga (curso 2021/2022). Se aplicó un instrumento validado para medir percepciones sobre metodología FC. Los resultados reflejaron percepciones positivas sobre la metodología FC, mejorando significativamente las valoraciones al utilizar instantáneas culturales. No se produjeron diferencias significativas al comparar por sexos, aunque los hombres tuvieron mejor percepción tras utilizar las instantáneas culturales. Como conclusión, el uso de instantáneas culturales como recurso didáctico puede suponer una alternativa positiva para trabajar contenidos de mayor complejidad si utilizamos la metodología FC., Flipped Classroom (FC) methodology allows a reorganization of times in the classroom and outside of it. For asynchronous work, when the content of the subject is more reflective, cultural snapshots, a combination of cinema, music and literature, can be used as a didactic resource. The objective of this research was to know the perceptions of future teachers about FC using cultural snapshots. A quantitative longitudinal panel design (pre-test and post-test) with a descriptive and inferential approach was used. The sample consisted of 111 prospective teachers from the University of Malaga (course 2021/2022). A validated instrument was applied to measure perceptions about FC methodology. The results reflect positive perceptions of the FC methodology, significantly improving valuations when using cultural snapshots. There were no significant differences when comparing by gender, although men had a better perception after using the cultural snapshots. In conclusion, the use of cultural snapshots as a didactic resource can be an positive alternative to work on more complex contents if we use the FC methodology.

The pandemic has brought about significant changes in a variety of areas, including education. In this field, it meant, among other things, the change from a face-to-face mode to an online or hybrid approach in higher education, making technology the necessary means to continue with the training process. The digital competence of students became, in a direct way, a key part of the process itself, a particularly relevant issue in the case of future teachers, called upon to develop not only their own skills, but also those of their students. From this perspective, this article aims to analyse the evolution of the digital competence of students of Primary Education Teaching and Pedagogy at the University of Malaga because of the change of modality caused by the pandemic. Specific attention is paid to gender and degree as possible conditioning variables of the level of technological skills. We use a validated questionnaire explicitly aimed at assessing the level of digital competence of future teachers with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest approach. The results show that there is an evolution in the technological skills of the students, with men and, specifically, those students who had previously studied a subject with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) content, showing a higher level of digital competence., La pandemia ha conllevado cambios sustanciales en diferentes ámbitos, incluido el educativo. En este supuso, entre otras cosas, el cambio de una modalidad presencial a una modalidad en línea o híbrida en la educación superior, convirtiendo a la tecnología en el medio necesario para continuar con el proceso formativo. La competencia digital del alumnado se convertía, de manera directa, en una pieza clave del propio proceso, una cuestión especialmente relevante en el caso de los futuros docentes, llamados a desarrollar no solamente sus propias destrezas, sino también las del alumnado. Bajo esta perspectiva, este artículo trata de analizar la evolución de la competencia digital del alumnado del Grado en Educación Primaria y Pedagogía de la Universidad de Málaga a raíz del cambio de modalidad motivado por la pandemia. Se atiende, de manera específica, al sexo y la titulación como posibles variables condicionantes del nivel de habilidades tecnológicas. Se utiliza para ello un cuestionario validado orientado de manera explícita a evaluar el nivel de competencia digital de futuros docentes con un enfoque cuasiexperimental de pretest-postest. Los resultados muestran que sí hay una evolución en las destrezas tecnológicas del alumnado, siendo los hombres y, específicamente aquellos estudiantes que habían cursado previamente alguna asignatura con contenidos de tecnología de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC), quienes muestran un mayor nivel de competencia digital.

Technologies have more and more influence on training, being essential to improve the digital competence of the whole society, especially the agents involved in education. The objective of this study is to analyse the perceptions of future primary teachers about their level of digital competence. A quantitative longitudinal panel design was applied (pre-test and post-test), with a descriptive, inferential and predictive approach. The sample consisted of 185 prospective primary teachers from the University of Malaga (Spain), in the academic year 2021-2022, who answered the “Digital Competence Questionnaire for Future Teachers” in the context of a subject on educational technology. The results reflect positive perceptions on the level of digital competence after finishing the subject, with significant differences by gender in favour of men. The variables autonomous learning and motivation were predictors of the participants' perceptions, including that of adequate training only for women. In conclusion, it is necessary to continue reinforcing the initial training of teachers to improve their digital competence., Las tecnologías tienen cada vez más influencia en la formación, siendo fundamental la mejora de la competencia digital de toda la sociedad, en especial los agentes implicados en la educación. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar las percepciones de futuros docentes de primaria sobre su nivel de competencia digital. Se aplicó un diseño cuantitativo de panel longitudinal (pre-test y post-test), con un enfoque descriptivo, inferencial y predictivo. La muestra la conformaron 185 futuros docentes de primaria de la Universidad de Málaga (España) en el curso 2021/2022, quienes respondieron al “Cuestionario de Competencia Digital para Futuros Docentes” en el contexto de una asignatura sobre tecnología educativa. Los resultados reflejan unas percepciones positivas sobre el nivel de competencia digital tras acabar la asignatura, existiendo diferencias significativas por sexos en favor de los hombres. Las variables aprendizaje autónomo y motivación fueron predictoras de las percepciones de los participantes, incluyendo la de formación adecuada solo para las mujeres. Como conclusión, es necesario seguir reforzando la formación inicial de los docentes para mejorar su competencia digital.

The relationship between values and education make the teacher an example of behaviours and attitudes for the students, being important the way of being and of exercising the educational processes. Starting from this premise, the objective of this study has been to analyze the teachers training perception about their level of influence on students in different axiological categories. The sample has been composed by 214 students of the Master's Degree in Teacher Training of the International University of Valencia during 2019/2020 academic year. Based on a mixed perspective of a descriptive and exploratory type, has been used an ad hoc questionnaire that includes the Gervilla´s axiological model of integral education and a self-report. The results reflect a perception of greater influence of the teachers on intellectual, moral, volitional and social values. Likewise, significant differences are obtained in relation to sex and teaching experience. On the other hand, the influence in the transmission of values is a reality that is conditioned to factors related to the teacher, the students, other agents and the social reality. The conclusions underline the need to improve the initial and continuos training of teachers regarding the axiological field, giving special impulse to character education, La relación entre valores y educación convierte al docente en ejemplo de comportamientos y actitudes para el alumnado, siendo importante la forma de ser y de ejercer la labor formativa. Partiendo de esta premisa, el objetivo de este estudio ha sido analizar la percepción de los docentes en formación sobre su nivel de influencia en el alumnado en diferentes categorías axiológicas. La muestra la han compuesto 214 estudiantes del Máster de Formación del Profesorado de la Universidad Internacional de Valencia durante el curso académico 2019/2020. Partiendo de una perspectiva mixta de carácter descriptivo y de tipo exploratorio, se ha utilizado un cuestionario ad hoc que integra el modelo axiológico de educación integral de Gervilla y un autoinforme. Los resultados reflejan una percepción de mayor influencia del profesorado sobre los valores intelectuales, morales, volitivos y sociales. Asimismo, se obtienen diferencias significativas en relación con el sexo y la experiencia docente. Por su parte, la influencia en la transmisión de valores es una realidad que queda condicionada a factores relacionados con el docente, el alumnado, otros agentes y la realidad social. Las conclusiones inciden en la necesidad de mejorar la formación inicial y continua del profesorado respecto al ámbito axiológico, prestando especial interés a la educación del carácter.

There is no doubt that we live in a digitalised society where technology is integrated into the different areas of our lives (academic, professional, personal and social). In the field of education, specifically, we are immersed in processes of reflection that allow us to evaluate its potential and integrate it effectively into the teaching and learning processes of the different educational stages. Based on this reality, this paper aims to analyse the role played by technology in the learning of mathematics in secondary education. Through a systematic review of the literature available in the Dialnet database, the focus is placed on the analysis of identification issues (authorship, year, country in which the studies have been developed and language in which they are published) and content issues (objectives of the studies, sample and results) in order to have a more complete view of the research developed in the period 2017-2022. The results show a progressive growth in scientific production on this phenomenon and a diversity of authorships and geographical contexts where studies on this phenomenon are carried out. They also underline the importance of students as informants and a generalised positive perception of the possibilities provided by technology inthe learning of mathematics. Specifically, it is pointed out that its use, beyond the acquisition of knowledge in the area, favours performance, motivation and meaningful learning., No cabe duda de que vivimos en una sociedad digitalizada donde la tecnología se integra en los diferentes ámbitos de nuestra vida (académico, profesional, personal y social). En el ámbito educativo, concretamente, nos encontramos inmersos en procesos de reflexión que nos permitan evaluar su potencial e integrarla de un modo eficaz en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las diferentes etapas educativas. En base a esta realidad, el presente trabajo se orienta a analizar qué papel juega la tecnología en el aprendizaje del área de matemáticas en la etapa de educación secundaria. Mediante una revisión sistemática de la literatura alojada en la base de datos Dialnet, se pone el foco en el análisis de cuestiones identificativas (autoría, año, país en que se han desarrollado los estudios e idioma en que se publica) y cuestiones de contenido (objetivos de los estudios, muestra y resultados) a fin de tener una visión más completa acerca de las investigaciones desarrolladas en el periodo 2017-2022. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto un crecimiento progresivo de la producción científica sobre este fenómeno y una diversidad de autorías y contextos geográficos donde se realizan estudios sobre él. Asimismo, subrayan la importancia del alumnado como informante y una percepción positiva generalizada sobre las posibilidades que aporta la tecnología en el aprendizaje de las matemáticas. Específicamente, se apunta a que su utilización, más allá de la adquisición de los conocimientos propios del área, favorece el rendimiento, la motivación o el aprendizaje significativo.
