This article outlines a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach to treating feelings of guilt and aims to be a practical 'how to' guide for therapists. The therapeutic techniques were developed in the context of working with clients with a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); however, the ideas can also be used when working with clients who do not meet a diagnosis of PTSD but have experienced trauma or adversity and feel guilty. The techniques in this article are therefore widely applicable: to veterans, refugees, survivors of abuse, the bereaved, and healthcare professionals affected by COVID-19, amongst others. We consider how to assess and formulate feelings of guilt and suggest multiple cognitive and imagery strategies which can be used to reduce feelings of guilt. When working with clients with a diagnosis of PTSD, it is important to establish whether the guilt was first experienced during the traumatic event (peri-traumatically) or after the traumatic event (post-traumatically). If the guilt is peri-traumatic, following cognitive work, this new information may then need to be integrated into the traumatic memory during reliving. Key learning aims: (1) To understand why feelings of guilt may arise following experiences of trauma or adversity. (2) To be able to assess and formulate feelings of guilt. (3) To be able to choose an appropriate cognitive technique, based on the reason for the feeling of guilt/responsibility, and work through this with a client. (4) To be able to use imagery techniques to support cognitive interventions with feelings of guilt. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TREATMENT of post-traumatic stress disorder , *COGNITIVE therapy , *PSYCHOTHERAPY , *COVID-19 pandemic - Abstract
Introduction: The increasing violence experienced in Mexico and the numerous losses caused by the current Covid 19 pandemic have led to an increase in patients with post-traumatic stress. Objective: To know the characteristics of post-traumatic stress disorder from a cognitive behavioral perspective and synthesize information on effective intervention techniques for psychotherapy in these patients. Methods: Intervention and theoretical studies carried out in Spain and Latin America in the period 2013-2020 were reviewed in the Medline, Lilacs and Scopus databases and in the Pubmed and scholar google search engines. The key words used in Spanish and English were "post-traumatic stress disorder, cognitive behavioral techniques in post-traumatic stress disorder, cognitive distortions in post-traumatic stress disorder, cognitive behavioral intervention in post-traumatic stress disorder". Results: An updated review is proposed and cognitive-behavioral techniques that have been useful in the treatment of patients with post-traumatic stress disorder are pointed out. Conclusions: The use of cognitive and behavioral techniques in the treatment of Post-traumatic stress disorder favors the reduction of dysfunctional thoughts associated with trauma and maladaptive behaviors. These techniques have been shown to be effective in the treatment of patients with posttraumatic stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Within this paper, we provide an expert opinion on five evidence-based psychological strategies that could help endurance participants overcome slowing down and stopping during performance: goal setting, motivational self-talk, relaxation, distraction, and pacing. We argue that these strategies are well-suited for delivery as brief-contact, educational interventions that could be accessible to large numbers of participants who do not have access to a sport and exercise psychologist. These interventions could be delivered using websites, online videos, workshops, or magazine articles. We propose a novel use for implementation intentions (i.e. if-then planning) to develop endurance participants’ conditional knowledge of when to use specific strategies. In addition, although research evidence suggests that these psychological strategies may be efficacious for overcoming thoughts of slowing down or stopping, there are important limitations in the research evidence. In particular, there is a dearth of ecologically valid, field-based effectiveness studies. Finally, we consider situations where attempts to resist slowing down or stopping during endurance activity may not be advisable. Scenarios include when there is an increased likelihood of injury, or when environmental conditions increase the risk of life-threatening events

PROBABILITY theory , *COGNITIVE therapy - Abstract
Objectives: Our study was aimed at evaluating the efficacy and stability of the "Pie Technique", "Cumulative Probability" and "Inverted Pyramid", cognitive techniques applied in a clinical context to reduce overestimation of the probability of threatening events. Method: 319 healthy participants were randomly assigned to one of 8 groups. Groups differed on the level of trait anxiety (high vs. low), and on the cognitive techniques they were to receive (Pie Technique, Cumulative Probability, Inverted Pyramid, Control task). All groups were exposed to an intervention aimed at reassigning the initial probability estimate. Results: In both high and low trait anxiety individuals, all the techniques successfully produced a statistically significant reduction in the estimation of the perceived probability, while no significant outcome was found in the control task group. This effect was significantly maintained at a 4 week follow up. Conclusions: Our study shows that the Pie Technique, the Cumulative Probability and the Inverted Pyramid reduce the estimation of the perceived probability of negative events occurring in both high and low trait anxiety individuals. This effect was considerably maintained at a 4 week follow up. The reduction should mainly be attributed to the technique's power in contrasting the cognitive mechanism of hyper-focalization. The present study takes into account only general threatening events, and not threats specifically related to the different disorders. Moreover, it demonstrates that all the techniques are useful to reduce danger overestimation but in a group of non-clinical individuals. We can't thus generalize our results to anxious patients. Background: Student reading challenges have been reported worldwide. In many classrooms around the world, teaching students appropriate strategy-use has been a technique used to improve comprehension and improve reading proficiency. However, strategy-use instruction per se may not produce holistic results. Objectives: This article reports on an extended strategy-use instruction to improve students’ reading proficiency in a particular subject area. The technique of role-play, as well as an integration of affective strategies, was used to improve the cohort of first-year students’ reading of subject-specific texts. Method: The intervention was conducted by way of tutorials. A questionnaire was used to elicit students’ views and opinions after the intervention. The responses were analysed using content analysis of emerging themes. Results: Students reported benefiting from the intervention with respect to reading their assigned texts, as well as increased motivation. Conclusion: It is recommended that strategy-use instruction include other innovative techniques such as role-play to improve students’ reading proficiency in a specific subject.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive techniques on motivation and academic performance and progress of female high school students in Isfahan. This quasi-experimental study with pre - test and the control group consisted of three pre-test, post-test and follow-up (4 months). Statistical population in this study were all high school students in the academic year 1391-1392. This research was random sampling and 40 high school students in the experimental group and the control group for random assignment was considered and demographic and hermans achievement motivation questionnaire (1970) was performed on them. The students' average was used as an indicator of academic performance. The experimental group received 8 sessions of 1 hour cognitive techniques. The results of analysis of variance showed that cognitive intervention techniques increases the 45/6% of subjects in the post-test scores and academic performance and enhance 45/9% in the follow-up phase. Therefore the first hypothesis was confirmed in addition to the results showed that cognitive intervention techniques to increase 57/1% post-test scores of academic motivation participants stage 56/6% in the follow-up period. Therefore, the second hypothesis was confirmed. Findings of interventions based on cognitive learning techniques in order to increase motivation and academic performance of female students suggests.

The present paper discusses the importance of creating awareness about the social context of the language to be learnt and acquiring cultural hold during the acquisition of second language learning. The present study analyses the failure of both the English language trainers and the learners to see the necessity to create a cultural ambience inside the classrooms. Cultural etiquettes, moods, and attitudes of the English language are equally important while teaching or learning. The inability to realise, use, and implement it has resulted in giving a "cultural shock" to the learners. The learners viewing the language as a lifeless thing in a detached manner has given rise to learning either emotionlessly by cognitive techniques like rote method or failing to get the edge and thus, ending in social withdrawal. The paper brings out a few cognitive methods that have failed to work out in the classrooms over the decades. There is a dire necessity to improve the condition of teaching and the mindsets of educators by playing over the socio-cultural contexts and integrate language with culture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Gamblers' thoughts have a fundamental influence on their gambling problem. Cognitive restructuring is the intervention of choice to correct those thoughts. However, certain difficulties are noted in the application of cognitive restructuring techniques and the comprehension of their guidelines. Furthermore, the increase of skill game players (e.g. poker) entering treatment creates a challenge for therapists, as these gamblers present with different thoughts than those of the gamblers usually encountered in treatment (e.g. chance-only games like electronic gambling machines). This systematic review aims to describe how cognitive restructuring is carried out with gamblers based on the evidence available in empirical studies that include cognitive interventions for gambling. Of the 2607 studies collected, 39 were retained. The results highlight exposure as the most frequently used technique to facilitate identification of gambling-related thoughts (imaginal=28.2%; in vivo=10.3%). More than half of the studies (69.2%) clearly reported therapeutic techniques aimed to correct gamblers' thoughts, of which 37% involved visual support to challenge those thoughts (e.g. ABC log). Of the 39 studies retained, 48.7% included skill game players (i.e., poker, blackjack, sports betting) in their sample. However, none of these studies mentioned whether cognitive restructuring had been adapted for these gamblers. Several terms referring to gamblers' thoughts were used interchangeably (e.g. erroneous, dysfunctional or inadequate thoughts), although each of these terms could refer to specific content. Clinical implications of the results are discussed with regard to the needs of therapists. This review also suggests recommendations for future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: the main purpose of this study is to offer an alternative explanatory account of the functioning of cognitive techniques that is based on the principles of associative learning and highlights their verbal nature. The traditional accounts are questioned and analyzed in the light of the situation of psychology in the 1970s. Method: conceptual analysis is employed to revise the concepts of language, cognition and behavior. Several operant- and Pavlovian-based approaches to these phenomena are presented, while particular emphasis is given to Mowrer's (1954) approach and Ryle (1949) and Wittgenstein's (1953) philosophical contributions to the field. Conclusions: several logical problems are found in regard to the theoretical foundations of cognitive techniques. A combination of both operant and Pavlovian paradigms based on the above-mentioned approaches is offered as an alternative explanatory account of cognitive techniques. This new approach could overcome the conceptual fragilities of the cognitive standpoint and its dependence upon constructs of dubious logical and scientific validity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
A very rare case is presented, when anxious sexual failure expectation syndrome in a male patient was manifested mostly in the form of a fear of libido decrease, the above fear being the real cause for that decrease. The fear appeared after one moment, when the patient noticed libido reduction. Some time later after that decrease he developed thoughts about a possible disturbance of erection, but the latter remained normal though it was not «swelling» like before the libido decrease (preclinical level). The author describes treatment of this patient with help of some psychotherapeutic methods: different cognitive techniques including the author’s method of «comparison by analogy», hypnosuggestive therapy in the variant of programming (using in particular the author’s formula of suggestions for increasing libido), the author’s modification of the «sway» technique that belongs to neurolinguistics programming. Pharmaceutical treatment (Hydazepamum, Trittico) was used too. During the treatment the patient developed a fear of becoming a homosexual, because his desire for women was reduced. It served as the cause for using cognitive manipulations and hypnosuggestive therapy as well as the above pharmacotherapy. The given treatment resulted in recovery. The above clinical observation demonstrates that in extraordinarily rare cases the libido decrease, which has already happened, can later lead to development of a fear of this decrease, this fear causing reduction of libido due to functioning of the semantic mechanism: what the patient is afraid of is realized.

Mentally handicapped people do not seek professional help, the treatment is initiated by the parents or professional workers who find their behaviour disturbing. But it is impossible to alter the child's behaviour without changing the reactions of the adults. This often calls for the alteration of their disfunctional automatic thoughts. These may be related to their demands and connected with basic principles of this approach, or with their attitude towards the child's handicap or his future. The treatment tries to diminish the behaviour excesses and still reach the desired reactions. The behaviour techniques, approapriate for the mentioned population, are more frequently used. This does not mean that the cognitive techniques are unsuitable. The literature mentions the studies of moderately mentally handicapped persons, where the treatment included covered conditioning, images and imagination. This article describes the examples of application of cognitive techniques with light and moderate level of mental retardation.

- Abstract
In optical networking, virtual topologies have been introduced mainly to provide service providers with logical connections equipped with a reserved amount of bandwidth, which can be exploited to interconnect their equipment at the edges of the transport infrastructure. Virtual topologies are thus basically an abstraction of the real substrate, created by means of a process called virtual topology design (VTD). VTD is a complex task, affected by many parameters and constraints, and among them current traffic conditions are very relevant. Indeed, it is possible that after a certain time a virtual topology becomes inappropriate to serve current traffic. In such cases, the virtual topology can be reconfigured by creating new lightpaths or modifying or deleting existing ones, thus possibly creating some service interruptions. In this paper a new virtual topology reconfiguration technique is presented. In this technique, a cognitive entity designs and reconfigures virtual topologies by exploiting traffic forecasting solutions and taking advantage of past history. Moreover, a new transition method is also proposed to reduce the impact of instable routing tables during the reconfiguration process. We demonstrate, by means of simulation, the advantages of the proposed methods, as they reduce both the operational costs and the resources in operation while maintaining low packet loss ratio. Furthermore, we validate the operation of the proposed solutions in an emulated testbed. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

The article presents the obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) as it is understood by the particular therapeutic approach – the cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). The disorder involves the appearance of recurring, persistent thoughts and acts (physical and mental ones) performed in response, with an aim of minimizing the anxiety triggered by these thoughts. The first part of the article presents the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for the OCD. The second part introduces the general model of cognitive-behavioural therapy. The third part explains the disorder and its development using the CBT models. After the commentary on the effectiveness of the OCD treatment using the CBT, some specific techniques and the model of clinical practice are introduced. The article briefly deals with the topic of pharmacotherapy. It focuses on the CBT techniques based on the exposure to aversive triggers and holding back of reactions (E/RP), the gradual desensitization, behavioural experiments as well as the cognitive techniques focused on changing the dysfunctional interpretation. Artykuł przedstawia problem zaburzenia obsesyjno-kompulsyjnego (OCD) w kontekście terapii poznawczo-behawioralnej (TPB). The evolution of smart vehicles has widened the application opportunities for vehicular ad hoc networks. In this context, the routing issue is still one of the main challenges regarding to the performance of the network. Although there are multiple ad hoc routing proposals, the traditional general-purpose approaches do not fit the distinctive properties of vehicular network environments. New routing strategies must complement the existing protocols to improve their performance in vehicular scenarios. This paper introduces a novel intelligent routing technique that makes decisions in order to adaptively adjust its operation and obtain a global benefit. The nodes sense the network locally and collect information to feed the cognitive module which will select the best routing strategy, without the need of additional protocol message dissemination or convergence mechanism. Most of the existing studies and meta-analysis deal with grief treatments in general, rather than complicated grief in particular. The main objectives of this meta-analysis were (1) to identify a mean effect size of cognitive behavioral interventions in complicated grief on adult population, (2) to provide indicators of the average effect size for co-morbid symptoms (e.q. depression and anxiety) and (3) to investigate potential moderators of the effect size. A comprehensive search of the literature identified 11 studies (n = 629) that were included in the final analysis. The results show that cognitive behavioral therapy is not efficient in reducing complicated grief symptoms, nor co-morbid symptoms of depression and anxiety. Implications are discussed. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques are examined to assist counselors to conceptualize and intervene with career indecision. Research shows variables that correlate with career indecision are successfully alleviated by CBT such as dysfunctional thinking, anxiety and depression, and poor problem solving skills. Examples of popular CBT techniques like assessment, cognitive restructuring, and skills training are given in relation to career counseling for persons with disabilities. Evidence based research is necessary to examine the effectiveness of these techniques with career indecision. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: Background: Chronic neuropathic pain is often associated with conditions such as depression and anxiety and strongly affects daily functioning and overall quality of life. It is argued, therefore, that psychosocial interventions should be added to traditional biomedical interventions. This systematic review evaluates the effectiveness of cognitive and behavioral interventions for the management of chronic neuropathic pain. Methods: Electronic databases were searched for all types of studies. Studies were selected by predefined inclusion criteria. Methodological quality was assessed with the Health Technology Assessment-Disease Management instrument. Furthermore, an explorative meta-analysis of four selected studies was performed. Results: Fourteen studies were assessed: three randomized controlled trials, three controlled before–after studies, seven uncontrolled before–after studies and one time series analysis. The findings of the meta-analysis were not consistent with a significant effect on pain intensity. Only one study had good methodological quality; it showed some significant effects of the interventions, but only in female participants. Other studies of limited methodological quality did report positive effects on pain and quality of life. Conclusions: This is the first systematic review that has evaluated the effectiveness of cognitive and behavioral techniques for the management of chronic neuropathic pain. Given the limited methodological quality, no informative conclusions can be drawn with respect to the study objective. However, this review does provide insight into the difficulties of this specific area, the need for a clear and widely accepted definition of neuropathic pain and the need for standardized multidimensional measurement instruments. - Abstract
A major shift in radio design is now just beginning which attempts to share spectrum in a fundamentally new way. These radios are addressing the fact that spectrum is actually poorly utilized in many bands, in spite of the increasing demand for wireless connectivity. The new approaches to spectrum sharing make use of the advances in technology to implement new wireless systems that can share previously allocated spectra in such a way that the primary users of these spectra are not affected. Additionally, the allowed use of this band is on an unlicensed basis. Two methods that are being investigated to accomplish this task are the use of ultra wideband transmission and cognitive techniques. Ultra wideband transmission relies on the fact that if the bandwidth is increased, that reliable data transmission can occur even at power levels so low that primary radios in the same spectral bands are not affected. On the other hand the cognitive approach does not necessarily limit the transmission power, but rather attempts to share the spectra through a dynamic avoidance strategy. The opportunities and challenges of this new era in radio design are described along with the open questions in their implementation [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

OBJECTIVE: Our study was aimed at evaluating the efficacy and stability of the “Pie Technique”, “Cumulative Probability” and “Inverted Pyramid”, cognitive techniques applied in a clinical context to reduce overestimation of the probability of threatening events. The reduction should mainly be attributed to the technique’s power in contrasting the cognitive mechanism of hyper-focalization. The present study takes into account only general threatening events, and not threats specifically related to the different disorders. Moreover, it demonstrates that all the techniques are useful to reduce danger overestimation but in a group of non-clinical individuals. We can’t thus generalize our results to anxious patients.

A very rare case is presented, when anxious sexual failure expectation syndrome in a male patient was manifested mostly in the form of a fear of libido decrease, the above fear being the real cause for that decrease. The present study investigated the thoughts and emotions of swimmers and what techniques they used to manage them before and during their best and worst performances. Twelve male Brazilian swimmers (5 Olympic and 7 Paralympic) took part of the study. They were 22 to 37 years old (M = 26.16, SD = 4.32). Three athletes (25%) were middle distance swimmers in freestyle, and the other nine (75%) were sprinters in all four swimming styles. An in-depth semi-structured interview was designed to explore the internal processes of participants and the techniques they used to manage them in the competitive events. The interview consisted of three sections: the first section examined the thoughts and emotions related to the best performance and the techniques used to manage them. The second section focused on thoughts and emotions in the worst performance and the techniques used. The third section investigated athletes’ awareness about internal processes and the influence on performance. Interview data were inductively and deductively analyzed, based on emerging themes and concepts of cognitive behavior therapy (Beck, 1995). Imagery, breathing, self-talk, music, cognitive restructuring and motivational audios were the techniques used by swimmers to manage their thoughts and emotions. The techniques were mostly used before best performances than before worst performances. There was a great variability in how the techniques were utilized, regarding the purpose and timing before and on the day of the races. Although some of the athletes were already familiar with some of the techniques, they reported improvement in how and why to use them after started a psychological preparation with a sport psychologist. Athletes also mentioned that some techniques were not efficient, because the dysfunctional thoughts were constants in the worst performances. Functional thoughts and pleasant emotions were more common in the best performances, whereas dysfunctional thoughts and unpleasant emotions were more common in the worst ones. The swimmers believed that thoughts generate emotions and they can influence performance. However, only a few of them mentioned to be aware of how to manage this relationship to be more functional. Thus, it seems important to educate athletes to distinguish thoughts from emotions, how to identify and evaluate them, to have a functional behavior.

As the amount of mobile data continues to grow rapidly, finding frequency bands without incumbent usage for mobile network operators (MNOs) in a harmonized manner becomes increasingly challenging. This motivates the search for new methods to increase the efficiency of current spectrum usage by exploring the new possibilities to allow multiple services to share the same frequency band in a controlled manner. This kind of spectrum sharing should be conducted in a way that requires minimum changes to the functionalities and the architecture of the systems involved and especially to the current holders of the spectrum usage rights, thus, the incumbent spectrum users. In this paper, we concentrate on the emerging Licensed Shared Access (LSA) concept which is currently receiving a lot of attention in European regulation and standardization. We discuss different types of incumbents and the critical factors for allowing spectrum sharing with LSA from their perspective. Finally, we propose an architecture for LSA that takes into account these critical factors while guaranteeing certain quality of service (QoS) conditions for all involved systems.

Anchoita (Engraulis anchoita) is a pelagic species found in the South Atlantic Area, It is estimated that 135,000 tons / year of this fish can be explored along the southern coast of Brazil. However, the fishery resources of the country are still unexplored, which makes this raw material a potential candidate of the manufacture of new products based on this fish. With the support of social government programs, the trend is for Brazil to develop alternative anchoita products and that are able to meet the specific needs of each target consumer group. Within this scenario, a new study of fish products in the market is necessary, in an attempt to understand the variables affecting the sector. Therefore, this thesis aimed to develop products based on anchoita and study the behavior of the consumer market against these new fish products. A total of six scientific articles was generated. The first article is entitled: “Potential inclusion of breaded fish products in school meal by individual determinants” The objective was to detect individual determinants of fish consumption in adolescents aged 12-17 years, aiming the inclusion of breaded fish in school meal. It was verified that the variables that best discriminated the frequency of consumption were "likes fish" and "educational level of parents." The results indicated a consumption potential of breaded fish by adolescents, associated with the need for food education. The second article "Development of hamburger from anchoita (Engraulis anchoita) protein bases" aimed to evaluate the effect of different combination of solvents to obtain anchoita basic protein aiming at developing fish burger. The procedures with phosphoric acid and two more cycles of water showed the best values for obtaining the protein base, based on the removal of nitrogen and sensory responses. In the third article "Acceptance of breaded fish (Engraulis anchoita) in school meals in extreme southern Brazil," the goal was to evaluate the acceptance of breaded fish (Engraulis anchoita) by public school students aged 5-18 years (n = 830) from two cities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The results showed an inverse relationship between the acceptance of breaded fish and the increasing age of the children. The fourth article was "Reasons underlying low fish consumption by Brazilian consumers." This was aimed at investigating the behavior toward fish in a population with low fish consumption (Brazil), using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The results indicated that both the intention and the attitude proved to be significant determinants in the frequency of fish consumption, with the attitude being inversely correlated with fish consumption. Habit emerged as an important discriminating variable for fish consumption. The fifth article is entitled "Structural Equation Modelling and word association as tools for a better understanding of low fish consumption." The objective was to develop a model and explain all the relationships between the constructs of fish consumption in a population with low fish consumption (Brazil) through the application of TPB and by the Questionnaire of Food Choices. Furthermore, the cognitive perception of fish products (Engraulis anchoita) was evaluated by the same population. The results indicated a good fit for the proposed model and showed that the constructs "health" and "weight control" are good predictors of intention. Word association proved a useful method for gathering perceptions of new fish products and also helped to explain the results obtained with the structural equation model. The sixth and last article "Perceived healthiness of fish products in a population with high fish consumption. An investigation by eye tracking" aimed to explore the use of eye tracking method to study the perception of healthy in different fish products. Two important points can be highlighted as influential in the perception of healthy: processed fish products and fried foods. Fish products are an important source of animal protein and being perishable product, a strategic solution to overcome the short life represented by the fresh fish is the development of the breaded fish, quality product, convenient and better suited to the modern consumer demand. In Brazil, government programs for school meals have brought support for research to develop new products based on fish and that are easily accepted by school children. In this sense, the objective was to detect individual determinants of fish consumption in adolescents aged 12-17 years, aiming the inclusion of breaded fish in school meal. Data was obtained from 92 students in a school located in Rio Grande - RS, by applying a questionnaire with questions about their attitudes and preferences, health consciousness, convenience and socio-demographic factors. The analysis was performed based on the technique of multivariate discriminant analysis, where one seeks to discriminate groups formed according to the frequency of fish consumption (never consumed fish; once a month, twice a month, once a week and more than once a week). The results led to the best discriminating variables in the frequency of fish consumption defined by the Partial Lambda Wilks’ mean difference test which were “likes fish” (0.55) and “educational level of parents” (0.88). The first two discriminant models obtained explained 75% of the variance for the frequency of fish consumption. Most individuals presented the idea that breaded products are not healthy, but they had the habit of consuming them at least once or twice a month. The group that never consumed fish said to dislike fish and 50% of the observations are recorded between consuming breaded once a month to more than once a week. These results indicate a potential for breaded fish consumption by adolescents, associated with the need for nutrition education. The initiative to explore underutilized fish species and that are found in abundance in the Brazilian coast has led to the development of new alternative products made from fish protein base. These are convenient products with high added value and meet the needs and expectations of modern consumers. Anchoíta (Engraulis anchoita) is a fish that has been showing significant commercial potential in Brazil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different combinations of solvents to obtain anchoíta basic protein aiming at developing fish burger. The anchoíta pulp was treated by nitrogen extraction by washing with subsequent solutions and extraction cycles: (H3PO4 + H2O + H2O); (H3PO4 + H2O + NaHCO3); (NaHCO3 + H2O + H2O + NaCl). The different washings were evaluated for values of extraction efficiency of nitrogen compounds such as total nitrogen (N-NTK), non-protein nitrogen (NNP) and total volatile bases (N-BVT) in the anchoíta pulp and results regarding the composition chemical and sensory data of the produced product (hamburger). According to the results, the procedures with phosphoric acid and two cycles of water showed the best values for the extraction of nitrogen compounds. As for the sensory data, no significant differences were registered for the hamburger product in relation to the color attribute, preference being given to the attribute taste for washing with phosphoric acid and two more cycles of water.

- Abstract
The evolution of smart vehicles has widened the application opportunities for vehicular ad hoc networks. In this context, the routing issue is still one of the main challenges regarding the performance of the network.Although there are multiple ad hoc routing proposals, the traditional general–purpose approaches do not fit the distinctive properties of vehicular network environments. New routing strategies must complement the existing protocols to improve their performance in vehicular scenarios. This paper introduces a novel intelligent routing technique that makes decisions in order to adaptively adjust its operation and obtain a global benefit. The nodes sense the network locally and collect information to feed the cognitive module that will select the best routing strategy, without the need for additional protocol message dissemination or convergence mechanism.

This article describes a Token Economy group intervention in a long-term psychiatric inpatients unit. The document offers a detailed account about the intervention conception and methodology adapted to 10 participants with several diagnoses. A general evaluation shows positive results concerning appropriate behaviour and a decrease of inadequate behaviour. This intervention was particularly efficient concerning the improvement in the facial and verbal behavior of the participants. We conclude that, in this study, the Token Economy was efficient towards the bizarre behaviours, even considering the high cognitive deterioration deficits in most participants. The majority of these studies were implemented more than forty years ago. The comparison of new studies with previous ones, however, is important, due to the changes in hospital settings as well as in pharmacological therapies.
