This article is an analysis of the ways in which creative assessment in Latin American literature, particularly sewing textiles, led to positive well-being benefits for students during the early stages of the Covid-19 lockdown. Through the lens of research coming out of occupational therapy, health-based arts therapies, and the Conflict Textiles collection, it explores general student feedback and two case studies of the visual and written elements of an assessment submitted in 2020 in a Latin American literature course in Spanish and Portuguese Studies, Queen's University Belfast, to show the potential eudaimonic well-being effects of creative projects. This study examines the content of press releases from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Science and Technology Centers (STCs) to determine how public information officers (PIOs) presented the outcomes of centers to journalists and the public. A total of 68 press releases were analyzed for type of news covered, visibility of centers and their funding agency, extent of inter-institutional cooperation in the issuance of releases, and players covered. Three-quarters of STC releases mentioned the center, but less than half mentioned the NSF STC program and one-quarter didn't mention the center name at all. PIOs covering the STCs mainly issued research-oriented press releases accredited to their own institution. There was a low level of inter-institutional cooperation, with 13% of press releases jointly issued. Compared to research results and institutional news, which together accounted for 82% of the news events, broader activities such as knowledge transfer, diversity enhancement, and education were much less visible.

The developmental disorder Williams syndrome (WS) has been associated with an atypical social profile of hyper-sociability and heightened social sensitivity across the developmental spectrum. In addition, previous research suggests that both children and adults with WS have a predisposition towards anxiety. The current research aimed to explore the profiles of social behaviour and anxiety across a broad age range of individuals with the disorder (n = 59, ages 6-36 years). We used insights from parental reports on two frequently used measures, the Spence Children's Anxiety Scale (SCAS-P) and the Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS). Severity of anxiety was correlated with a greater degree of social dysfunction as measured by the SRS in this group. We split the group according to high or low anxiety as measured by the SCAS-P and explored the profile of social skills for the two groups. Individuals high and low in anxiety differed in their social abilities. The results emphasise the need to address anxiety issues in this disorder and to consider how components of anxiety might relate to other features of the disorder. Responses from 315 of 639 older adults participating in an Institute for Learning in Retirement, featuring peer-led study groups, indicated the following: most enjoyed learning with peers; success depended on the quality of peer moderator contributions; moderators' roles differ by personality, experience, and study area; and the Internet has the potential to expand participation of those with limited mobility.
