This study was carried out to determine some fruit properties and biochemical (total oil, fatty acid composition, protein, total phenolic compounds, total antioxidant capacity, total flavonoids) characteristics of different pecan nut cultivars (Burkett, Choctaw, Mahan, Western, Wichita) grown in the Antalya Region (BATEM). It was determined that some fruit properties and biochemical contents of the cultivars used in the study. In the study, it was determined that the shelled fruit weight varied between 7.78 g (Burkett) and 11.40 g (Mahan), kernel weight between 3.45 g (Burkett) and 5.99 g (Mahan), and kernel percentage between 44.2% (Burkett) and 55.6% (Western). The total oil content of the cultivars ranged from 67.70% (Mahan) to 73.95% (Wichita), protein content from 7.45% (Mahan) to 9.76% (Western), total phenolic compounds from 115.29 mg GAE g-1 (Choctaw) to 176.65 mg GAE/g (Burkett), total antioxidant capacity from 201.36 mg TEAC g-1 (Choctaw) to 487.89 mg TEAC g-1 (Burkett), and total flavonoids from 1.84 mg Catechin g-1 (Western) to 2.24 mg Catechin/g (Mahan). In the study, oleic acid was determined as the major fatty acid, and the lowest ratio of unsaturated fatty acids was found in the Wichita cultivar (90.73%), but the highest ratio was determined in the Western cultivar (91.43%).

Purpose: Patients with contralateral carotid artery occlusion (CCO) represent a subgroup of patients at risk for revascularization procedures. The choice of appropriate revascularization procedure (carotid endarterectomy (CEA) or carotid artery stenting (CAS)) in these patients is controversial. The aim of this study is to share the results of clinical and radiological follow-up after CAS in these patients and to contribute to the literature by evaluating the efficacy and safety of stenting., Methods: In our study, the clinical and radiological data of 145 patients with CCO and 145 age-gender-matched patients without CCO who underwent elective CAS in the interventional neuroradiology clinic between 2001 and 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. A comparison was made between short- and long-term outcomes between the two groups., Results: The overall technical success rate of CAS was 99.7% and the 30-day all-cause mortality rate was 1.4%. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of early-term (intra-procedural thromboembolic events, post-procedural symptomatic hyperperfusion, intraparenchymal hemorrhage, major and minor ischemic stroke, early-term mortality rate) and long-term (intimal hyperplasia, residual stenosis, major and minor ischemic stroke and long-term all-cause mortality rate) (p > 0.05)., Conclusion: In our experience, it was concluded that CAS performed by an experienced interventional neuroradiology team in patients with CCO does not pose an additional risk. Since CCO poses a risk for CAE, CAS may be a more acceptable treatment modality in these patients due to less perioperative risk. Background: Crossing Y-stent-assisted coiling (CYSAC) is a feasible yet technically challenging technique for the treatment of wide-neck bifurcation aneurysms (WNBAs)., Objective: To present mid-term results of Y-stent-assisted coiling (YSAC) using the LVIS EVO stent and to describe our "drill turn" technique for stent crossing., Methods: This retrospective, observational study included 37 consecutive patients treated with YSAC using LVIS EVO stents at five centres between September 2020 and March 2023., Results: Immediately after treatment, 31 of the 37 patients (83.8%) achieved Raymond-Roy occlusion classification (RROC) Class I occlusion, while 5 patients (13.5%) had Class II and 1 patient (2.7%) had Class III occlusion. The mean follow-up period was 32.8 months (range: 11-41 months), and all patients underwent follow-up imaging after ≥ 6 months. On follow-up imaging, 34 patients (92%), including all those with immediate RROC Class I occlusion, 2 with Class II, and 1 with Class III, showed Class I occlusion. One patient with RROC Class II occlusion demonstrated a gradual decrease in residual filling, while one large partially thrombosed middle cerebral artery aneurysm and one large basilar tip aneurysm (8%) with residual neck filling remained unchanged on the 6-month digital subtraction angiograph., Conclusion: Utilizing the described drill turn technique, CYSAC with LVIS EVO stents was found to be feasible and safe for WNBA treatment, with high and stable occlusion rates observed during mid-term follow-up., (© 2024. Objective: In 2022, arterioectatic spinal angiopathy (AESA) of childhood was reported as a fatal, progressive, multi-segment myelopathy associated with a unique form of non-inflammatory spinal angiopathy involving diffuse dilatation of the anterior spinal artery and cord congestion in children. In this study, we present four more cases of AESA, using early and long-term conventional imaging and flat detector computed tomography angiography (FDCTA) imaging to assess the probability of disease regression and prevent unnecessary interventions., Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical and radiological findings of four patients with AESA seen in two neuroradiology departments between 2014 and 2023., Results: The study included three boys and one girl. Two of the boys were siblings. Although the clinical and radiological presentation in the early stages of the clinical course overlapped the definition of AESA, the clinical course was more benign in three of the cases. The clinical courses of the two siblings with monosegmental cord involvement and largely reversible radiological findings suggest that some of the features in the initial definition of the disease cannot be standardized for all patients. The siblings had a mutation of the NDUFS gene, which is involved in mitochondrial function and clinical-radiological reversibility in these patients., Conclusion: Many mitochondrial diseases, such as this NDUFS mutation, present with myelopathy, and mitochondrial diseases can sometimes show spontaneous recovery. It is crucial to identify other genetic mutations or environmental factors that trigger the accompanying vascular ectatic findings in AESA in larger multicenter studies to prevent its potential lethal course and possible unnecessary surgical-endovascular interventions., (© 2024. Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) is a rare low-grade salivary gland neoplasm. Distant metastasis is rare, and 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography ( 18 F-FDG PET/CT) has been used to determine the metastatic disease in EMC. 68 Ga-fibroblast activation protein inhibitors (FAPI) PET/CT is a promising imaging modality for diagnostic and theognostic purposes in various malignancies. Comparison studies with 18 F-FDG have investigated the role of 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT. A 58-year-old man presenting with dyspnea, weight loss, and night sweating underwent 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography ( 18 F-FDG PET/CT) because of a suspicion of malignancy. 18 F-FDG PET/CT demonstrated mild to moderate uptake on nasal, cricoid, and tracheobronchial tree cartilages and costovertebral junctions. The diagnosis was relapsing polychondritis, which is a rare multisystem disease characterized by inflammation of cartilage. Temperature-induced sorption in porous materials is a well-known process. What is more challenging is to determine how the rate at which temperature is varied affects these processes. To address this question, we introduce a methodology called "cyclic thermo-ellipsometry" to explore the thermo-kinetics of vapor physisorption in metal-organic framework films.

Objective: To compare the incidence and natural course of reactive axillary lymph nodes (RAL) between mRNA and attenuated whole-virus vaccines using Deauville criteria., Methods: In this multi-institutional PET-CT study comprising multiple vaccine types (Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, Moderna/Spikevax, Sinovac/CoronaVac and Janssen vaccines), we evaluated the incidence and natural course of RAL in a large cohort of oncological patients utilizing a standardized Deauville scaling system (n=522; 293 Female, Deauville 3-5 positive for RAL). Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to evaluate the predictive value of clinical parameters (absolute neutrophil count [ANC], platelets, age, sex, tumor type, and vaccine-to-PET interval) for PET positivity., Results: Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty and Moderna vaccines revealed similar RAL incidences for the first 20 days after the second dose of vaccine administration (44% for the first 10 days for both groups, 26% vs. 20% for 10-20 days, respectively for Moderna and Pfizer). However, Moderna recipients revealed significantly higher incidences of RAL after 20 days compared to Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, with nodal reactivity spanning up to the 9th week post-vaccination (15% vs. 4%, respectively P  < 0.001). No RAL was observed in patients who received either a single dose of J&J vaccine or two doses of CroronaVac. Younger patients showed increased likelihood of RAL, otherwise, clinical/demographic parameters were not predictive of RAL ( P  = 0.014 for age, P  > 0.05 for additional clinical/demographic parameters)., Conclusion: RAL based on strict PET criteria was observed with mRNA but not with attenuated whole-virus vaccines, in line with higher immunogenicity and stronger protection offered by mRNA vaccines., (Copyright © 2024 Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential role of [ 18 F]FDG positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in the characterization of thymic epithelial tumors (TETs). Materials and Methods: A total of 73 patients who underwent preoperative [ 18 F]FDG PET/CT were included in this study. Visual total score (VTS), maximum standard uptake values (SUV max ), metabolic tumor volume (MTV), total lesion glycolysis (TLG), and heterogeneity index (HI) parameters were analyzed to investigate the prediction of histopathologic grade and advanced stage. Results: The cohort included 26 patients with low-grade thymoma (LGT), 36 patients with high-grade thymoma (HGT), and 11 patients with thymic carcinoma (TC). Ninety-one percent of TC had VTS >2, whereas 31% of LGT and 75% of HGT had VTS >2. SUV max , MTV, and TLG were statistically significantly higher in the TC group than in both thymoma and HGT. Using the cutoff value of 7.25 for SUV max , TC was differentiated from thymomas with 91% sensitivity and 74% specificity. TC had significantly lower HI values than thymomas. HI parameters showed good diagnostic ability to differentiate TC from thymoma and TC from HGT. SUV max , MTV, and TLG were significantly higher in advanced-stage disease than in early-stage disease. Conclusions: Visual and quantitative parameters can reliably predict both advanced disease and the grade of primary tumor in TETs. Therefore, as a promising metabolic imaging method, [ 18 F]FDG PET/CT makes important contributions to preoperative evaluation in routine clinical practice.

Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of an increase in the time interval between hepatic intra-arterial injection of 99m Tc-macroaggregated albumin (MAA) and hepatic artery perfusion scintigraphy (HAPS) on the lung shunt fraction (LSF) and perfused volume (PV) calculations in the treatment planning of selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT). Methods: The authors enrolled 51 HAPS sessions from 40 patients diagnosed with primary or metastatic liver malignancy. All patients underwent scan at the first and fourth hour after hepatic arterial injection of 99m Tc-MAA. Based on single-photon emission computed tomography images, LSF values were measured from each patient's first and fourth hour images. PV1 and PV4 were also calculated based on three-dimensional images using 5% and 10% cutoff threshold values and compared with each other. Results: The authors found that the median of LSF4 was statistically significantly higher than LSF1 (3.05 vs. 4.14, p  ≤ 0.01). There was no statistically significant difference between PV1 and PV4 on the 10% ( p  = 0.72) thresholds. Conclusions: LSF values can be overestimated in case of delayed HAPS, potentially leading to treatment cancellation due to incorrectly high results in patients who could benefit from SIRT. Threshold-based PV values do not significantly change over time; nevertheless, keeping the short interval time would be safer.

Background and Purpose: The optimal antiplatelet regimen after flow diverter treatment of cerebral aneurysms is still a matter of debate. A single antiplatelet therapy might be advantageous in determined clinical scenarios. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of prasugrel single antiplatelet therapy versus aspirin and clopidogrel dual antiplatelet therapy., Materials and Methods: We performed a post hoc analysis of 4 retrospective multicenter studies including ruptured and unruptured aneurysms treated with flow diversion using either prasugrel single antiplatelet therapy or dual antiplatelet therapy. Primary end points were the occurrence of any kind of procedure- or device-related thromboembolic complications and complete aneurysm occlusion at the latest radiologic follow-up (mean, 18 months). Dichotomized comparisons of outcomes were performed between single antiplatelet therapy and dual antiplatelet therapy. Additionally, the influence of various patient- and aneurysm-related variables on the occurrence of thromboembolic complications was investigated using multivariable backward logistic regression., Results: A total of 222 patients with 251 aneurysms were included, 90 (40.5%) in the single antiplatelet therapy and 132 (59.5%) in the dual antiplatelet therapy group. The primary outcome-procedure- or device-related thromboembolic complications-occurred in 6 patients (6.6%) of the single antiplatelet therapy and in 12 patients (9.0%) of the dual antiplatelet therapy group ( P  = .62; OR, 0.712; 95% CI, 0.260-1.930). The primary treatment efficacy end point was reached in 82 patients (80.4%) of the single antiplatelet therapy and in 115 patients (78.2%) of the dual antiplatelet therapy group ( P  = .752; OR, 1.141; 95% CI, 0.599-2.101). Logistic regression showed that non-surface-modified flow diverters ( P  = .014) and fusiform aneurysm morphology ( P  = .004) significantly increased the probability of thromboembolic complications., Conclusions: Prasugrel single antiplatelet therapy after flow diverter treatment may be as safe and effective as dual antiplatelet therapy and could, therefore, be a valid alternative in selected patients. Purpose: We aimed to investigate the role of [ 68  Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT and uptake patterns of primary and metastatic lesions in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC)., Methods: Twenty patients with a suspicious lesion considered primary renal malignancy or a history of RCC were included in our study. Two patients were excluded from further analyses due to other confirmed malignancies. Six patients were newly diagnosed, while the indication of 12 patients was restaging. All patients underwent [ 68  Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 and [ 18 F]F-FDG PET/CT. SUVmax and tumor-to-background ratio (TBR) of primary (n = 7) and local recurrent lesions (n = 6) and lymph node (n = 26), lung (n = 32), bone (n = 5), and other metastases (n = 14) were compared between the two tracers., Results: We detected 90 lesions in 18 patients with varying FAPI and FDG uptake values on both PET/CT. The median TBR of FAPI-PET/CT of all lesions was higher than TBR of FDG-PET/CT with statistically significance (5.6 vs. 2.1, p < 0.001). In primary and recurrent lesions, the median SUVmax, TBR, and tumor volume on FAPI-PET/CT were higher than FDG-PET/CT. The median SUVmax of lung lesions on FAPI-PET/CT was statistical significantly higher than FDG-SUVmax (3.8 vs. 1.8, p = 0.02). The median of FAPI-SUVmax on primary lesions was lower in the early stage based on TNM compared to the advanced stage. FAPI-SUVmax in 49% of all lesions were SUVmax ≥ 6, and 13% were SUVmax ≥ 10. In patient-based analyses, seven patients (39%) had at least one lesion with FAPI-SUVmax ≥ 10; 12 patients (67%) had at least one lesion with FAPI-SUVmax ≥ 6., Conclusion: This study showed the potential utility of [68 Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT showing promising results in RCC. Purpose: Treatment of brain arteriovenous malformation (bAVM) includes microsurgical excision, stereotactic radiosurgery, endovascular embolization, or combination. With bAVM embolization, complete angiographic obliteration ranges from 12.5 to 51%, and higher total occlusion rate is seen in SM grades I to III, ranging from 96 to 100%., Methods: In this paper, we illustrate the use of 3D rotational angiography and dynamic (live) 3D roadmap functions in endovascular treatment of bAVM. A single dynamic 3D roadmap or two dynamic 3D roadmaps obtained help tremendously in navigation of microcatheters and wires along the parent artery and bAVM feeders., Results: This method eliminates the need for repeated 2D angiograms and roadmaps for new working projections every time the C-arm position is changed for cannulation of different feeders, thereby reducing radiation dose. No instances of misalignment error, vascular perforation, or thromboembolic phenomena were observed in the 21 embolization cases performed within the previous 2 years while utilizing this feature., Conclusion: The dynamic 3D roadmap is an extremely useful tool for multiple-feeder cannulation, by reducing the use of multiple 2D angiograms, providing intraprocedural live and adjustable 3D roadmap for better mental orientation to angioarchitecture of the bAVM, which further aids in the overall complete angiographic obliteration rate of bAVM in a single session especially in multiplug embolization technique., (© 2023. Background: Flow diverter (FD) devices provide a safe and effective treatment option especially for wide-necked intracranial aneurysms. One of the main concerns in patients treated with FD devices is patency of arterial branches jailed by the stent. However, there are no long-term data from magnetic resonance perfusion (MRP) studies regarding jailed branches. In this study we aimed to reveal the MRP findings in patients with jailed middle cerebral artery (MCA) cortical branches during long-term follow-up after flow diversion., Methods: Patients who underwent FD stent treatment for MCA aneurysms with a resulting jailed cortical branch were included. Follow-up clinical, angiographic, and MRP examination findings were recorded. Different MRP parameters were measured in the MCA territory regarding the jailed branches., Results: Eighteen patients treated endovascularly with flow diversion for a total of 20 MCA aneurysms were included. At angiographic follow-up (median 35 months, range 7-95 months) complete occlusion was observed in 13 (65%) aneurysms and partial occlusion was observed in 6 (30%). The mean transit time (MTT) prolongation, MTT ratio, time-to peak (TTP) prolongation, and TTP ratio were 1.34, 1.20, 1.18, and 1.06 s, respectively, when compared with the contralateral side in the MCA territory. MTT, TTP, and cerebral blood volume values of the patients showed statistically significant differences compared with the contralateral side (P<0.05)., Conclusions: Flow diversion treatment of complex bifurcation aneurysms can be effective and safe. Background: Understanding the hemodynamics of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is crucial for risk assessment and treatment planning. This study introduces a low-cost, patient-specific in vitro AAA model to investigate hemodynamics using particle image velocimetry (PIV) and flow-simulating circuit, validated through fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulations., Methods: In this study, 3D printing was employed to manufacture a flexible patient-specific AAA phantom using a lost-core casting technique. A pulsatile flow circuit was constructed using off-the-shelf components. A particle image velocimetry (PIV) setup was built using an affordable laser source and global shutter camera, and finally, the flow field inside the AAA was analyzed using open-source software. Fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulations were performed to enhance our understanding of the flow field, and the results were validated by PIV analysis. Both steady-state and transient flow conditions were investigated., Results: Our experimental setup replicated physiological conditions, analyzing arterial wall deformations and flow characteristics within the aneurysm. Under constant flow, peak wall deformations and flow velocities showed deviations within - 12% to + 27% and - 7% to + 5%, respectively, compared to FSI simulations. Pulsatile flow conditions further demonstrated a strong correlation (Pearson coefficient 0.85) in flow velocities and vectors throughout the cardiac cycle. Transient phenomena, particularly the formation and progression of vortex structures during systole, were consistently depicted between experimental and numerical models., Conclusions: By bridging high-fidelity experimental observations with comprehensive computational analyses, this study underscores the potential of integrated methodologies in enhancing our understanding of AAA pathophysiology. The convergence of realistic AAA phantoms, precise PIV measurements at affordable cost point, and validated FSI models heralds a new paradigm in vascular research, with significant implications for personalized medicine and bioengineering innovations., (© 2023. Objective: The aim of this study is to present the clinical and imaging findings of 16 patients with intraventricular pilocytic astrocytomas (PAs)., Methods: 16 patients with histopathological diagnosis of intraventricular PA between February 2016 and January 2022 were evaluated retrospectively. Imaging and clinical findings of the patients, as well as apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) measurements were analyzed., Results: Of 16 patients, 8 (%50) were male and 8 (%50) were female. The mean age of the patients was 20.8 years (2-44 years range). The most common symptoms in the patients were headache and ataxia. The mean long-axis size of lesions was found to be 48.19 ± 21.59 (range, 15-92 mm). 9 out of 16 lesions (56.2%) were located in the fourth ventricle. The majority of the lesions were iso-hypointense in T 1 W and hyperintense in T 2 W images. The mean ADC value of PAs was 1.57 × 10 -3 ± 0.2 mm 2 /s, while the mean thalamic ADC and white matter ADC values were found to be 0.78 × 10 -3 ± 0.04 and 0.76 × 10 -3 ± 0.06 mm 2 /s, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between the ADC values obtained from the solid components of the lesions and the thalami/white matter ( p < 0.001)., Conclusion: PAs often originate from midline structures, however, they can also be located intraventricularly. Although intraventricular PAs are frequently seen in pediatric population, it should be kept in mind that they can also be seen in adults, albeit rarely., Advances in Knowledge: PA should be considered in the differential diagnosis of intraventricular neoplasms in case of high ADC values.

Background: The anterior communicating artery (AComm) region is the most common site of intracranial aneurysms, with increased rupture risk compared with other locations. Overall, flow diverters present as a safe and efficacious treatment for intracranial aneurysms, but there is paucity of data for their use in the treatment of unruptured AComm aneurysms. We present the largest multicentric analysis evaluating the outcomes of flow diverters in AComm aneurysm treatment., Methods: Databases from 10 centers were retrospectively reviewed for unruptured AComm aneurysms treated with flow diverters. Demographics, clinical presentation, radiographic characteristics, procedural complications, and outcomes were assessed., Results: A total of 144 patients harboring 147 AComm aneurysms were treated between January 2012 and December 2021. Seventy-four were women (51.4%) and median age was 60 (IQR 50-67) years. All were unruptured AComm aneurysms. Half of the cohort had similar anterior cerebral artery sizes (51.4%). The most common morphology was saccular (94.6%), with a branch involvement in 32.7% of cases. Median vessel diameter was 2.4 mm, and the Pipeline Flex was the most prevalent device (32.7%). Median follow-up time was 17 months, with complete occlusion in 86.4% at the last follow-up. Functional independence (modified Rankin Scale score 0-2) was reported in 95.1%. Intraprocedural complications occurred in 5.6%, and postoperative complications were noted in 9.7% of cases. Combined major complication and mortality rate was 2.1%., Conclusions: Our study suggests that flow diverters are a useful treatment for AComm aneurysms. Mid-term results indicated favorable aneurysm occlusion with a good safety profile. Abstract: A 69-year-old woman with breast cancer underwent 18 F-FDG PET/CT because of the increased CA-15-3 level. 18 F-FDG PET/CT showed multiple hypermetabolic lymph nodes (LNs) in the neck and mediastinum. The patient was also referred for 68 Ga-fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) 04 PET/CT for further evaluation. However, 18 F-FDG-avid LNs were FAPI-negative on 68 Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT. Supraclavicular LN biopsy confirmed the metastasis of breast cancer. Abstract: 68 Ga-fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) PET/CT is an emerging imaging modality with high sensitivity and high tumor-to-background ratio in various cancers including in the head and neck regions. The authors present 2 cases of adenoid cystic carcinoma who underwent 68 Ga-FAPI-04 and 18 F-FDG PET/CT. Locoregional recurrence has been detected more precisely in the first case with 68 Ga-FAPI-04. In the second case, 68 Ga-FAPI-04 outperformed 18 F-FDG in the number of lesions and demonstrated intense FAP uptake on widespread metastases, which could provide a treatment option as a theranostic concept. Background and Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the potential contribution of quantitative measurements of dural venous sinuses to the diagnosis of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) and the relationship between IIH and dural venous sinus dimensions on 3D post-gadolinium T1-weighted magnetic resonance (MR) images., Material and Methods: A total of 129 individuals (57 IIH patients and 72 controls) who complained of headache and underwent both magnetic resonance venography (MRV) and precontrast/postcontrast 3D T1-weighted MR imaging between 2018 and 2021 were included in this retrospective study. Dural venous sinus and jugular vein diameters were measured in all cases using post-gadolinium 3D T1 TFE images. The presence of transverse sinus (TS) hypoplasia and occipital sinus variation, the number and size of arachnoid granulations in the TS, and the presence of brain parenchymal herniation were also evaluated. Cut-off values that maximized accurate diagnosis of IIH were established on the receiver operating characteristic curve. The sensitivity and specificity of the diagnosis of IIH based on quantitative measurements of the dural sinus were calculated., Results: The ratios of the maximum to minimum TS diameters and the minimum TS diameters to minimum sigmoid sinus (SS) diameters were significantly higher in IIH patients than in the control group (p < 0.001). The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity values of TS max /TS min and TS min sum /SS min sum parameters for the detection of IIH were 84.2%, 84.7% and 83.3%, 84.2%, respectively., Conclusion: Practical measurements from multiplanar T1 sequences can be useful for both quantitative assessment and overcoming misinterpretation due to anatomical variation., (© 2022. Abstract: Papillary renal cell cancer is a rare malignancy with limited treatment options in the advanced stage of the disease. We present the case of a 62-year-old man with progressive left-sided papillary renal cell carcinoma who underwent 68 Ga-FAPI (fibroblast activated protein inhibitor)-04 and 18 F-FDG PET/CT imaging. 68 Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT demonstrated variable FAP expression in all metastatic lesions detected by 18 F-FDG PET/CT, including multiple lymph nodes, bone, and thyroid. Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of Y-stent-assisted coiling (Y-SAC) using LEO Baby® stents in treating of bifurcation aneurysms., Methods: Patients who underwent Y-SAC using a braided stent (LEO Baby®, Montmorency, France) for wide-necked intracranial aneurysms between 2009 and 2019 and whose radiological and clinical follow-up data for at least 6 months could be obtained were evaluated. Data were obtained from patient records and analyzed retrospectively., Results: We evaluated 111 patients with a mean age of 56.0 ± 10.8 years (range, 25-88 years). Most of the aneurysms were detected incidentally. Three patients had ruptured aneurysms. LEO Baby deployment and coiling were successful in all patients. Immediate aneurysm occlusion rates were determined as modified Raymond-Roy classification (mRRC) I 95.5% (n = 106), mRRC II 3.6% (n = 4), mRRC IIIa 0.9% (n = 1). In the sixth month, aneurysm occlusion rates were found to be complete and nearly complete in all patients (mRRC I 94.6%, n = 105 and mRRC II 4.5%; n = 5, respectively). Follow-up data of 91 patients for > 2 years were obtained. Of these, 88 had MRRCI obstruction and 3 had MRRC II obstruction. The overall complication rate was 4.8%, and one patient died during the post-procedural follow-up., Conclusion: The long-term follow-up results of Y-stenting with LEO Baby revealed that it provides stable closure of the aneurysm sac while preserving the main arterial structures. Therefore, it is a safe, durable, and effective method for treating wide-necked and complex bifurcation aneurysms., (© 2023. Craniocervical dissection is one of the most common causes of stroke in children. Although the most common cause of dissection is trauma, spontaneous dissections in which no cause can be revealed may also occur. The diagnosis of this type of dissection in children can be challenging with the preferred non-invasive imaging methods (MRA, CTA). Intracranial vessel wall imaging is a promising novel method for identifying specific signs of dissection. We report an 11-year-old girl with spontaneous ICA dissection, whose diagnosis was confirmed by an MRI of the intracranial vessel wall. We analyzed the diagnostic performance of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT and the dosimetry, efficacy, and safety of 177 Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand therapy (RLT) in salivary gland malignancies (SGMs). Methods: We identified 28 SGM patients with PSMA PET/CT from our database. CT and PSMA PET/CT images were evaluated separately by 3 masked readers in joint reading sessions. Pathologic findings were grouped into 6 TNM regions, and lesion-based disease extent was classified as no disease ( n  = 1, 4%), unifocal ( n  = 2, 7%), oligometastatic ( n  = 9, 32%), multifocal ( n  = 3, 11%), or disseminated ( n  = 13, 47%). For each region, the SUV max of the lesion with the highest uptake was measured and the visual PSMA expression score was evaluated on a per-patient basis using PROMISE criteria. The association between PSMA expression and clinical and histopathologic markers was tested using the Student t test. Five patients underwent PSMA RLT with intratherapeutic dosimetry. Response was assessed using RECIST 1.1, and adverse events were graded according to version 5.0 of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events. Results: Compared with CT, PSMA PET/CT demonstrated additional metastatic lesions in 11 of 28 (39%) patients, leading to upstaging of TNM and lesion-based disease extent in 3 (11%) and 6 (21%) patients, respectively. PSMA PET/CT detected CT-occult local tumor, regional lymph nodes, nonregional lymph nodes, and bone metastases in 1 (4%), 4 (14%), 2 (7%), and 4 (14%) patients, respectively; no additional lesions were detected in the other predefined regions. PSMA expression level was higher than liver in 6 patients (25%). A significantly higher SUV max was observed in male than female patients (15.8 vs. 8.5, P  = 0.007) and in bone than lung lesions (14.2 vs. 6.4, P  = 0.006). PSMA RLT was discontinued after 1 cycle in 3 of 5 patients because of insufficient tumor doses. No adverse events of grade 4 or higher occurred. Conclusion: In SGMs, PSMA PET/CT demonstrated a superior detection rate and led to upstaging in about one third of patients when compared with CT. The male sex and the presence of bone metastases were associated with significantly higher PSMA expression. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are hybrid porous crystalline networks with tunable chemical and structural properties. However, their excellent potential is limited in practical applications by their hard-to-shape powder form, making it challenging to assemble MOFs into macroscopic composites with mechanical integrity. While a binder matrix enables hybrid materials, such materials have a limited MOF content and thus limited functionality. To overcome this challenge, nanoMOFs are combined with tailored same-charge high-aspect-ratio cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) to manufacture robust, wet-stable, and multifunctional MOF-based aerogels with 90 wt% nanoMOF loading. The porous aerogel architectures show excellent potential for practical applications such as efficient water purification, CO 2 and CH 4 gas adsorption and separation, and fire-safe insulation. Moreover, a one-step carbonization process enables these aerogels as effective structural energy-storage electrodes. This work exhibits the unique ability of high-aspect-ratio CNFs to bind large amounts of nanoMOFs in structured materials with outstanding mechanical integrity-a quality that is preserved even after carbonization. The demonstrated process is simple and fully discloses the intrinsic potential of the nanoMOFs, resulting in synergetic properties not found in the components alone, thus paving the way for MOFs in macroscopic multifunctional composites., (© 2022 The Authors. Purpose: Flow diverter stents are gaining wider use in the treatment of complex intracranial aneurysms; however, there are limited data on occlusion and complication rates of flow diverters in very large and giant aneurysms. This study assessed the safety and efficacy of flow redirection endoluminal device (FRED) and FRED Jr. stents in aneurysms ≥ 20 mm., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed all aneurysms ≥ 20 mm treated with FRED/FRED Jr. between January 2010 and June 2020 from three centers. Endpoints for clinical safety were absence of major stroke, aneurysmal rupture, or death and complete or near-complete occlusion for efficacy., Results: A total of 45 patients with very large (28 cases) and giant aneurysms (17 cases) were treated with FRED (41 cases), and FRED Jr. (4 cases) stents. The majority of the aneurysms (40/45, 88.9%) were in the anterior circulation. Adjunctive aneurysm coiling was performed in 21 aneurysms (46.7%). Technical complications were encountered in 4 procedures (8.9%). Ischemic and hemorrhagic complication rates were 6.7% and 8.9%, respectively. There was no case with major stroke. The mortality rate was 8.9%, and all cases were due to hemorrhagic complications from aneurysmal rupture. Median angiographic follow-up was 21.5 months (range 3-60 months). Complete occlusion was achieved in 32 aneurysms (71.1%), and near-complete occlusion in 5 cases (11.1%)., Conclusion: The use of FRED/FRED Jr. for the treatment of aneurysms ≥ 20 mm achieved a long-term aneurysm occlusion rate and a safety profile comparable to the large series reported with other flow diverter stents., (© 2021. Background: Anterior falcotentorial junction dural arteriovenous fistulas (AFDAVFs) are the most deeply located and most complex type of tentorial fistula due to their location and vascular anatomy. We aimed to make new angiographic definitions of AFDAVF nidus and functionality of the deep venous system of the brain and thereby provide a safer approach for endovascular treatment., Methods: We retrospectively examined 18 patients with AFDAVF who received endovascular treatment at our neuroradiology department between June 2002 and May 2019. Pre- and post-treatment clinical assessments were performed using the modified Rankin Scale. AFDAVF niduses were defined as mixed-type or pure-dural-type on the basis of whether choroidal arteriovenous malformation was coexisting or not, respectively. The deep venous system was denoted as functional or nonfunctional., Results: We included 13 men and 5 women (mean (range) age, 47.2 (31-62) years). We evaluated 15 patients with pure-dural-type AFDAVFs and three with mixed-type AFDAVFs. Complete occlusion of the fistula was achieved in 15/18 patients. Three patients had transient neurologic symptoms. In two patients these were due to mild thalamic ischemia and in the third patient was due to tectal venous ischemia, all in mixed-type AFDAVF. One patient also developed Parinaud syndrome due to compression of the tectal plate by a thrombosed large vein of Galen. Purpose: Split renal function (SRF) can be measured by using several methods in 99m Tc-DMSA scintigraphy. Geometric mean (GM) based methods derived from planar images(2D) have been used for several years, besides; 3D-methods were also reported as an option for assessment of SRF. The purpose of this study to compare 2D and 3D methods for calculation of SRF in pediatric and adult patients., Methods: We evaluated 212 patients, underwent both planar and SPECT 99m Tc-DMSA scintigraphy.2D-SRFs were calculated by GM without background correction (SRFnobcg), GM with background correction in crescent formation from lower lateral borders (SRFcres), and GM with background correction in circumferential formation, including the whole kidney surroundings (SRFcirc). In 3D settings, SRF was measured with SPECT (SRFspect). Paired t-test was used to compare the mean SRFs of each group. Bland-Altman method was used as an agreement method for each method. Analyses were performed based on left kidney SRFs., Results: In comparison of 2D and 3D methods, SRFspect was significantly different from SRFnobcg and SRFcres (p=<0.001) but not from SRFcirc (p = 0.155) in all patients. Similar results were found for patients with high creatinine level, SRFcirc and SRFspect were not significantly different (p = 0.317), while significant differences were found between SRFspect and SRFnobcg/SRFcres (p=<0.001).On the other hand, all 2D-methods showed statistical differences (p=<0.001-0.026) from 3D-method in pediatric patients. Bland-Altman-plot demonstrated that SRFcirc underestimated the poor functioning kidneys., Conclusion: SRFcirc can be used in measurement of SRF in adult patients with normal functioning kidneys in busy clinics. Abstract: We present the case of a 48-year-old man diagnosed with metastatic Ewing sarcoma who was referred for 18F-FDG PET/CT for treatment response evaluation following chemoradiotherapy. The patient also had complaints of new-onset testicular swelling at the time of imaging. Although the metastatic bone disease showed a complete metabolic response to treatment, 18F-FDG PET/CT demonstrated significantly increased metabolic activity in bilateral testicular mass. Background: Orbital metastasis of breast cancer is an unusual condition, especially in the absence of a previous diagnosis of primary breast cancer. The main MRI findings in patients with orbital metastasis are retroorbital soft tissue with thickening of extraocular muscles. Paradoxical enophthalmos secondary to fibrosis can be seen., Case Report: In this case report, we present a 75-year-old female patient with left eye pain and blurred vision and retraction. Although there was no evidence of malignancy in the biopsy of the orbita; since the patient's complaints continued despite idiopathic pseudotumor treatment, mammography was recommended to rule out the possibility of breast cancer metastasis. Purpose: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted therapies are among the current promising treatments. We present our preliminary results on the use of 225Ac-PSMA therapy in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer as a single center., Methods: Twelve advanced stage metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients who received 225Ac-PSMA therapy were recruited in this retrospective study. Patients were treated with 225Ac-PSMA therapy every 8 weeks, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response was analyzed. Meanwhile, overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were estimated. Hematological and nonhematological adverse effects were recorded before and at 8 weeks after the last treatment cycle., Results: In total, 25 cycles of 225Ac-PSMA were administered to 12 patients. The pretreatment median PSA level was 129 ng/mL. After the first cycle of therapy, any PSA response was observed in 9 of 12 patients, whereas 6 of them had biochemical response of >50%. Four of 12 patients reached the best PSA response after the first treatment cycle, whereas 3 patients after the second and 2 patients after the third cycle. The median PFS and OS were 4 and 10 months, respectively. For patients with any PSA response after the first cycle, OS was found to be higher despite without any statistical significance (10 vs 4 months; P = 0.301) when compared with the nonresponsive group. Due to their high porosity and chemical versatility, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) exhibit physical properties appealing for photonic-based applications. While several MOF photonic structures have been reported, examples of applications thereof are mainly limited to chemical sensing. Herein, the range of application of photonic MOFs is extended to local thermal and photothermal sensing by integrating them into a new architecture: MOF photonic balls. Micrometric-sized photonic balls are made of monodispersed MOFs colloids that are self-assembled via spray-drying, a low-cost, green, and high-throughput method. The versatility of the process allows tuning the morphology and the composition of photonic balls made of several MOFs and composites with tailored optical properties. X-ray nanotomography and environmental hyperspectral microscopy enable analysis of single objects and their evolution in controlled atmosphere and temperature. Notably, in presence of vapors, the MOF photonic balls act as local, label-free temperature probes. Importantly, compared to other thermal probes, the temperature detection range of these materials can be adjusted "on-demand." As proof of concept, the photonic balls are used to determine local temperature profiles around a concentrated laser beam. Purpose: The aim of this study is to demonstrate the diagnostic effect of VWI in differentiating PACNS from other vasculopathies and its role in post-treatment follow-up in PACNS patients in this study., Methods: In this prospective study, we included patients with clinical suspicion of PACNS who presented with new-onset ischemic events and had significant intracranial large vessel stenosis on DSA or MRA. VWI was performed on all patients. The imaging findings and final diagnoses were recorded. Control VWI was performed on patients with PACNS diagnosis after at least 3 months of treatment, and the change in findings was also evaluated., Results: Twenty-three patients were included in the study had a median age of 40 (range 12-58). The most common clinical manifestations were focal neurologic deficits. According to the initial clinical evaluation, 10 patients (43.5%) were classified as PACNS and 13 patients (56.5%) as indeterminate for PACNS. After incorporating the VWI findings, the diagnosis of PACNS was confirmed in all clinically diagnosed PACNS patients. Concentric wall thickening and contrast enhancement were statistically significant in the PACNS group (p <0.001). According to concentric thickening and VWE features, sensitivity and specificity in distinguishing PACNS and other vasculopathies were 95.2%, 75% and 95.2%, 68.8%, respectively. Vessel wall enhancement regressed in 7 of 9 patients during a median follow-up period of 8 months (range 5.5-11.5) in PACNS patients who followed up., Conclusion: VWI seems a new and useful imaging method in the differential diagnosis of PACNS and might be a useful adjunct for post-treatment follow-up., (© 2021. Background and Purpose: Flow diversion is increasingly used as an endovascular treatment for intracranial aneurysms. In this retrospective multicenter study, we analyzed the safety and efficacy of the treatment of intracranial, unruptured, or previously treated but recanalized aneurysms using Flow Re-Direction Endoluminal Device (FRED) Jr with emphasis on midterm results. Materials and Methods: Clinical and radiological records of 150 patients harboring 159 aneurysms treated with FRED Jr at six centers between October 2014 and February 2020 were reviewed and consecutively included. Clinical outcome was measured by using the modified Rankin Scale (mRS). Anatomical results were assessed according to the O'Kelly-Marotta (OKM) scale and the Cekirge-Saatci Classification (CSC) scale. Results: The overall complication rate was 24/159 (16%). Thrombotic-ischemic events occurred in 18/159 treatments (11%). These resulted in long-term neurological sequelae in two patients (1%) with worsening from pre-treatment mRS 0-2 and mRS 4 after treatment. Complete or near-complete occlusion of the treated aneurysm according to the OKM scale was reached in 54% (85/158) at 6-month, in 68% (90/133) at 1-year, and in 83% (77/93) at 2-year follow-up, respectively. The rates of narrowing or occlusion of a vessel branch originating from the treated aneurysm according to the CSC scale were 11% (12/108) at 6-month, 20% (17/87) at 1-year, and 23% (13/57) at 2-year follow-up, respectively, with all cases being asymptomatic. Conclusions: In this retrospective multicenter study, FRED Jr was safe and effective in the midterm occlusion of cerebral aneurysms. Background: Indications for flow diversion stent (FDS) treatment are expanding. However, there is still a lack of evidence for the long-term outcome in distally located aneurysms in the M2 segment of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) and beyond., Methods: Consecutive subjects (from June 2013 to August 2020) with MCA aneurysms in the M2 segment or beyond treated with FDS were reviewed retrospectively. The primary endpoints for clinical safety were the absence of mortality, stroke event, re-rupture of the aneurysm, and worsening of clinical symptoms. The primary endpoint for treatment efficacy was complete/near-complete occlusion at follow-up after 12 months., Results: 23 patients were identified: 7 aneurysms were located in the M2 segment of the MCA, 4 in the M2-M3 bifurcation, 2 in M3, 3 in M3-4 branching, and 2 in M4; 5 aneurysms were located in M2 with extension into the M1-M2 bifurcation. 13 aneurysms were of fusiform morphology, 8 sacculofusiform, and 2 saccular. 16 aneurysms were of highly suspected dissecting etiology. The median diameter of the parent vessel was 2.1 mm proximally and 2 mm distally. The median time of the follow-up was 30 months (range 16 months to 6 years). Complete/near complete occlusion was observed in 14/20 patients (70%) and one stable remodeling (5%) was seen at 12 months. 22 patients (95.6%) had an excellent clinical outcome (mRS 0-1) at 6 months. Technical challenges associated with the deployment of FDS occurred in 8.7% of cases. Abstract: Somatostatin receptor (SSTR) imaging with 68Ga-labeled somatostatin analogs has been used for many tumors with high SSTR expression. Increased uptake mostly depends on the SSTR status of tumors; however, false-positive uptake can be demonstrated in benign diseases or other malignancies because of the increased SSTR expression. We present a case of a 50-year-old man with increased SSTR activity on cervical lesion located in internal jugular chain in 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT, which was performed for suspicion of paraganglioma. Abstract: We present a case of clear cell renal cell carcinoma, which demonstrates complementary FDG and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) uptake on metastases in PET/CT, as an example of tumor heterogeneity. The patient had non-FDG-avid lung and bone metastases with PSMA uptake, whereas metastatic cervical and axillary lymph nodes showed vice versa, and skeletal muscle metastasis to vastus lateralis, which is an unusual region for metastasis, showed both PSMA and FDG positivity. In response assessment, mix response was detected. Abstract: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) overexpression in various tumors are demonstrated in both in vitro and in vivo studies. Prostate-specific membrane antigen-directed radionuclide therapies are generally used in prostate cancer and could be also useful in PSMA-avid other malignancies. Herein, we present a case of a 46-year-old male patient who had progressive metastatic testicular mixed germ cell tumor, despite repeated operations and treatments. 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT was performed to assess eligibility for 177Lu-PSMA therapy. Patient had intense PSMA uptake in metastatic lesions, and 177Lu-PSMA has been given to control of disease. Abstract: We present a case of a 55-year-old man with a history of poorly differentiated metastatic thyroid cancer, which is rare and shows aggressive behavior. The patient had radioactive iodine-negative multiple metastasis on 18F-FDG PET/CT, therefore 68Ga-DOTATATE and 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT were performed whether an opportunity exist for DOTATATE or PSMA-directed radionuclide therapy. Background and Purpose: The transverse sinus (TS) is a frequent location of cerebral venous thrombosis. However, unilateral TS hypoplasia is a frequent variation and radiological imaging pitfall in the diagnosis because it may mimic unilateral TS thrombosis. The purpose of this study is to find a cutoff value for bilateral jugular foramen (JF) diameter ratios on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for differentiating TS thrombosis from TS hypoplasia., Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed magnetic resonance venography results for 174 patients with reduced unilateral TS caliber resulting from either unilateral thrombosis (80 patients) or unilateral hypoplasia (94 patients). We calculated the ratio by proportioning the diameter of the JF ipsilateral to the TS with caliber reduction to the diameter of the contralateral JF. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the ratios between thrombosis and hypoplasia groups, and the cutoff value was calculated by receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis., Results: The ratio of bilateral JF diameters was lower in patients with hypoplasia than those with thrombosis (P < .01). The cutoff value to determine the diagnosis of TS hypoplasia with maximum accuracy was 0.638, with a sensitivity of 91.3% and specificity of 64.9%., Conclusion: In equivocal cases, calculating the cutoff value by proportioning the diameter of JF ipsilateral to the TS with caliber reduction to the contralateral JF seems to be an efficient, quick, and straightforward method and valuable aid to differentiate TS thrombosis from TS hypoplasia.

Background: Flow diversion is a common endovascular treatment for cerebral aneurysms, but studies comparing different types of flow diverters are scarce., Objective: To perform a propensity score matched cohort study comparing the Pipeline Embolization Device (PED) and Flow Redirection Intraluminal Device (FRED) for posterior circulation aneurysms., Methods: Consecutive aneurysms of the posterior circulation treated at 25 neurovascular centers with either PED or FRED were collected. Propensity score matching was used to control for age, duration of follow-up imaging, adjunctive coiling, and aneurysm location, size, and morphology; previously ruptured aneurysms were excluded. The two devices were compared for the following outcomes: procedural complications, aneurysm occlusion, and functional outcome., Results: A total of 375 aneurysms of the posterior circulation were treated in 369 patients. The PED was used in 285 (77.2%) and FRED in 84 (22.8%) procedures. Aneurysms treated with the PED were more commonly fusiform and larger than those treated with FRED. To account for these important differences, propensity score matching was performed resulting in 33 PED and FRED unruptured aneurysm pairs. No differences were found in occlusion status and neurologic thromboembolic or hemorrhagic complications between the two devices. The proportion of patients with favorable functional outcome was higher with FRED (100% vs 87.9%, p=0.04)., Conclusion: Comparative analysis of PED and FRED for the treatment of unruptured posterior circulation aneurysms did not identify significant differences in aneurysm occlusion or neurologic complications. Purpose: We report a multicenter experience using endovascular embolization as the first line approach for treatment of anterior cranial fossa (ACF) dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF)., Methods: All patients with DAVFs located in the anterior cranial fossa who were treated with endovascular technique as a first line approach were included. Demographics, clinical presentation, angioarchitecture, strategy, complications, immediate angiographic, and follow-up results were included in the analysis., Results: Twenty-three patients met the inclusion criteria (18 male and 5 female). Age ranged from 14 to 79 years (mean 53 years). Twelve patients presented with hemorrhage. Twenty-eight endovascular procedures were performed. The overall immediate angiographic cure rate after endovascular treatment was 82.6% (19/23 patients). The angiographic cure rate of the transvenous strategy was significantly superior to the transarterial strategy (p ≤ 0.001). There was 1 complication in 28 total procedures (3.6%). Angiographic follow-up was available in 21 out of the 23 patients with a mean of 25 months (range 2 to 108 months). In these 21 patients, the DAVF was completely cured in 20 (95%). At last follow-up, all patients had a modified Rankin scale (mRS) 0 to 2., Conclusion: Our experience suggests that endovascular treatment for ACF DAVFs has an acceptable safety profile with high rates of complete occlusion, particularly with transvenous approach. Whenever possible, transvenous approach should be preferred over transarterial approach as first line strategy.

Purpose: Intrathecal gadolinium-enhanced MR cisternography (IGE-MRC) has a high sensitivity to detect accurate localization of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage in otorhinorrhea patients. Our purpose in this study was to describe our experience in analyzing clinically suspected CSF leakage by IGE-MRC by using gadobutrol with emphasis on its safety and diagnostic performance., Methods: We retrospectively reviewed our imaging and clinical database for the evaluation of patients admitted to our clinic with complaints of otorhinorrhea between 2017 and 2019. Two radiologists evaluated the imaging studies independently. Consensus data was used in the analysis. Medical record review and phone call were used for the follow-up., Results: Of the 85 patients included in the retrospective analysis, 82 (96.5%) had rhinorrhea and 3 (3.5%) had otorrhea. Overall, 29 patients (34.1% of all patients) underwent operation for repair of the CSF leakage site. Beta-transferrin test was available and positive in 33 patients (38.8%). Five (5.9%) patients complained headaches after the procedure and complaints were resolved with increased water intake. Postprocedurally, 3 patients (3.5%) had vertigo and 1 patient (1.2%) complained nausea but spontaneous regression were observed in a few hours. None of the patients experienced a significant complication or adverse reaction during follow-up period. Sixty-seven patients (78.8%) had medical record and telephone follow-up. Mean follow-up duration with call was 14.2 months., Conclusion: IGE-MRC is a minimally invasive and highly sensitive imaging technique. The current results during our follow-up demonstrate the relative safety and feasibility of IGE-MRC by using gadobutrol to evaluate CSF leakage.

Background: Dual antiplatelet therapy consisting of aspirin and clopidogrel is the standard of care for neurointerventional stenting and flow diversion. Platelet function testing has been increasingly performed to identify patients with a hypo- or hyper-response to clopidogrel. Ticagrelor has been a popular alternative antiplatelet agent for such patients. We assessed the role of platelet function testing in patients receiving ticagrelor and undergoing stenting or flow diversion., Methods: The data from patients who had undergone stent-assisted coiling or Pipeline flow diversion of a cerebral aneurysm with ticagrelor therapy at any point during their treatment course from May 2017 to August 2019 at a single academic institution in the United States were retrospectively reviewed. Platelet function testing was used to determine the P2Y 12 reactive units (PRUs), and the results were correlated with the procedural complications., Results: A total of 28 patients with 29 aneurysms were treated while receiving ticagrelor. Of the 29 aneurysms, 16 (55.2%) were treated with flow diversion and 13 (44.8%) with stent-assisted coiling. Four thromboembolic complications (13.8%) and no hemorrhagic complications developed. Of the 8 patients with ≥1 PRU value >100, 4 (50%) had experienced a thromboembolic complication. The patients without a PRU value >100 did not experience any complications., Conclusion: A risk of thromboembolic complications exists for patients receiving ticagrelor, which correlated with the PRUs in the present preliminary study. The findings from the present study suggest that the safe PRU range for patients receiving ticagrelor should be shifted to 0-100, which is lower than that of clopidogrel, thought to be 60-210. Fungal evolutionary biology is impeded by the scarcity of fossils, irregular life cycles, immortality, and frequent asexual reproduction. Simple and diminutive bodies of fungi develop inside a substrate and have exceptional metabolic and ecological plasticity, which hinders species delimitation. However, the unique fungal traits can shed light on evolutionary forces that shape the environmental adaptations of these taxa. Higher filamentous fungi that disperse through aerial spores produce amphiphilic and highly surface-active proteins called hydrophobins (HFBs), which coat spores and mediate environmental interactions. We exploited a library of HFB-deficient mutants for two cryptic species of mycoparasitic and saprotrophic fungi from the genus Trichoderma (Hypocreales) and estimated fungal development, reproductive potential, and stress resistance. HFB4 and HFB10 were found to be relevant for Trichoderma fitness because they could impact the spore-mediated dispersal processes and control other fitness traits. An analysis in silico revealed purifying selection for all cases except for HFB4 from T. harzianum, which evolved under strong positive selection pressure. Interestingly, the deletion of the hfb4 gene in T. harzianum considerably increased its fitness-related traits. Conversely, the deletion of hfb4 in T. guizhouense led to the characteristic phenotypes associated with relatively low fitness. The net contribution of the hfb4 gene to fitness was found to result from evolutionary tradeoffs between individual traits. Our analysis of HFB-dependent fitness traits has provided an evolutionary snapshot of the selective pressures and speciation process in closely related fungal species.

Objection: We aimed to evaluate the role of bone scintigraphy (BS) which has long been the imaging modality of choice in prostate cancer (PCa) and performed a head-to-head comparison between BS, BS + SPECT/CT and 68 Ga-PSMA-PET/CT, for the detection of bone metastasis of PCa., Methods: We evaluated 138 PCa patients who underwent BS and 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT and SPECT/CT of 102 of 138 patients. Images were interpreted retrospectively and areas of abnormally increased tracer uptake related to PCa were documented as benign, metastatic or equivocal. Equivocal uptakes were finally diagnosed based on a consensus review of correlative imaging. Patient- and lesion-based analysis was performed. Patients with superscan images were excluded from lesion-based analysis., Results: At least one metastatic or equivocal uptake in skeleton was defined in 76 of 138 (55%) BS, in 33 of 102 (32.3%) SPECT/CT, and in 49 of 138 (35.5%) 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT. 23 (16.7%) patients had also superscan findings on BS and 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT. For patient-based analysis, sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, PPV, and NPV were calculated as 91.1%, 64.5%, 73.1%, 55.4% and 93.7% for BS; 95.5%, 82.7%, 86.9%, 72.8% and 96.2% for BS + SPECT/CT; 97.7%, 95.7%, 95.6%, 91.6% and 98.8% for 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT. For lesion-based analysis, sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, PPV, and NPV were 53%, 63.9%, 60.1%, 42.8% and 71.8% for BS; 59.2%, 87.6%, 77.7%, 62.6% and 80% for BS + SPECT/CT; 96.4%, 98.1%, 97.5%, 96.4% and 98.1% for 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT., Conclusion: This study has shown that 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT overcomes the limitations of BS and proves superiority in detecting bone metastases, even in patients with SPECT/CT. Our findings present important implications that 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT can replace BS in future practice.

Background: Design of flow-diverter stents for flexibility, tractability, and low profile limits their radiopacity on conventional digital subtraction angiography. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) offers higher spatial resolution for the evaluation of flow-diverter stents. However, CBCT requires optimal dilution and timing of contrast medium for simultaneous visualization of the stent, arterial lumen, and vessel wall. There are only limited data on the effects of different contrast dilutions on CBCT image quality in neurointerventional applications., Materials and Methods: In our institution, intra-arterial CBCTs were acquired during stent deployment and at follow-ups with 10% diluted contrast. We had recently started acquiring intra-arterial CBCTs with non-diluted contrast. Retrospective analysis of our flow-diverter data identified eight cases with different aneurysm locations who had intra-arterial CBCT with 10% diluted contrast immediately after flow-diverter stent deployment and with non-diluted contrast technique during follow-ups. For each case, the image quality between diluted and non-diluted contrast techniques was compared qualitatively by assessing stent visualization and quantitatively by plotting gray-scale intensity values along the vessel lumen., Results: In two sets of CBCT images per each case, there was no substantial difference between diluted and non-diluted CBTC techniques for the evaluation of stent architecture and lumen opacification. Gray-scale intensity values perpendicular to the lumen revealed similar intensity values along the neighboring parenchyma, vessel wall, and lumen for the two different contrast techniques., Conclusion: Intra-arterial CBCT angiography can be performed without contrast dilution and still achieve adequate image quality in certain cerebral aneurysms treated with flow diverter. The non-diluted contrast technique avoids the time loss during preparation of diluted contrast and installation of diluted contrast to the injector in angiography suites with a single power injector.
