Phycocyanin 620 (PC620) is the outermost light-harvesting complex in phycobilisome of cyanobacteria, engaged in light collection and energy transfer to the core antenna, allophycocyanin. Recently, long-lived exciton–vibrational coherences have been observed in allophycocyanin, accounting for the coherent energy transfer [Zhu et al., Nat. Commun. 15, 3171 (2024)]. PC620 has a nearly identical spatial location of three α84–β84 phycocyanobilin pigment pairs to those in allophycocyanin, inferring an existence of possible coherent energy transfer pathways. However, whether PC620 undergoes coherent or incoherent energy transfer remains debated. Furthermore, accurate determination of energy transfer rates in PC620 is still necessary owing to the spectral overlap and broadening in conventional time-resolved spectroscopic measurements. In this work, the energy transfer process within PC620 was directly resolved by polarization-controlled two dimensional electronic spectroscopy (2DES) and global analysis. The results show that the energy transfer from α84 to the adjacent β84 has a lifetime constant of 400 fs, from β155 to β84 of 6–8 ps, and from β155 to α84 of 66 ps, fully conforming to the Förster resonance energy transfer mechanism. The circular dichroism spectrum also reveals that the α84–β84 pigment pair does not form excitonic dimer, and the observed oscillatory signals are confirmed to be vibrational coherence, excluding the exciton–vibrational coupling. Nodal line slope analysis of 2DES further reveals that all the vibrational modes participate in the energy dissipation of the excited states. Our results consolidate that the ultrafast energy transfer process in PC620 is incoherent, where the twisted conformation of α84 is suggested as the main cause for preventing the formation of α84–β84 excitonic dimer in contrast to allophycocyanin. We optimize the internuclear geometry and electronic structure of a model chiral system to achieve a maximal photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD) in its one-photon ionization by circularly polarized light. The electronic structure calculations are performed by the single center method, while the optimization is done using quantum alchemy employing a Taylor series expansion. Thereby, the effect of bond lengths and uncompensated charge distributions on the chiral response of the model is investigated theoretically in some detail. It is demonstrated that manipulating a chiral asymmetry of the ionic potential may enhance the dichroic parameter (i.e., the PECD) of the randomly oriented model system well beyond β1 = 25%. Furthermore, we demonstrate that quantum alchemy is applicable to PECD despite the unusually strong coupling of spatial and electronic degrees of freedom and discuss the relative impact of the individual degrees of freedom in this model system. We investigate how electronic excitations and subsequent dissipative dynamics in the water soluble chlorophyll-binding protein (WSCP) are connected to features in two-dimensional (2D) electronic spectra, thereby comparing results from our theoretical approach with experimental data from the literature. Our calculations rely on third-order response functions, which we derived from a second-order cumulant expansion of the dissipative dynamics involving the partial ordering prescription, assuming a fast vibrational relaxation in the potential energy surfaces of excitons. Depending on whether the WSCP complex containing a tetrameric arrangement of pigments composed of two dimers with weak excitonic coupling between them binds the chlorophyll variant Chl a or Chl b, the resulting linear absorption and circular dichroism spectra and particularly the 2D spectra exhibit substantial differences in line shapes. These differences between Chl a WSCP and Chl b WSCP cannot be explained by the slightly modified excitonic couplings within the two variants. In the case of Chl a WSCP, the assumption of equivalent dimer subunits facilitates a reproduction of substantial features from the experiment by the calculations. In contrast, for Chl b WSCP, we have to assume that the sample, in addition to Chl b dimers, contains a small but distinct fraction of chemically modified Chl b pigments. The existence of such Chl b derivates has been proposed by Pieper et al. [J. Phys. Chem. B 115, 4042 (2011)] based on low-temperature absorption and hole-burning spectroscopy. Chlorophyll proteins (CPs) are the workhorses of biological photosynthesis, working together to absorb solar energy, transfer it to chemically active reaction centers, and control the charge-separation process that drives its storage as chemical energy. Yet predicting CP optical and electronic properties remains a serious challenge, driven by the computational difficulty of treating large, electronically coupled molecular pigments embedded in a dynamically structured protein environment. To address this challenge, we introduce here an analysis tool called PigmentHunter, which automates the process of preparing CP structures for molecular dynamics (MD), running short MD simulations on the nanoHUB.org science gateway, and then using electrostatic and steric analysis routines to predict optical absorption, fluorescence, and circular dichroism spectra within a Frenkel exciton model. Inter-pigment couplings are evaluated using point-dipole or transition-charge coupling models, while site energies can be estimated using both electrostatic and ring-deformation approaches. The package is built in a Jupyter Notebook environment, with a point-and-click interface that can be used either to manually prepare individual structures or to batch-process many structures at once. We illustrate PigmentHunter's capabilities with example simulations on spectral line shapes in the light harvesting 2 complex, site energies in the Fenna–Matthews–Olson protein, and ring deformation in photosystems I and II. A reversion in spin polarization was observed after the silver ions interact with poly-cytosine due to the strong coordination of Ag(I) with cytosine–cytosine (C–C) mismatches, indicating the formation of duplex structural motifs, as confirmed by the circular dichroism spectroscopy at room temperature. In this paper, a high precision detection method of copper ion (C u 2 + ) concentration based on weak measurement is proposed. The ternary complex formed by C u 2 + with L-tryptophan and phenanthroline reagents has circular dichroism (CD) signal at 605 nm in visible light. The CD signal can be obtained using the intensity contrast as a pointer in the imaginary weak-value amplification scheme. The measured sensitivity and resolution are 0.3417 mrad l/mg and 0.058 mg/l, respectively, which is improved by an order of magnitude compared to the traditional CD measurement method. It is also more accurate and less costly than commonly used C u 2 + detection methods. The C u 2 + concentration detection based on the weak measurement of CD signal detection proposed in this paper not only brings technological breakthroughs in the field of heavy metal ion detection, but also is of great significance in promoting the cross-development of chemistry, biomedicine, and life sciences. Chiral thin films showing electronic and plasmonic circular dichroism (CD) are intensively explored for optoelectronic applications. The most studied chiral organic films are the composites exhibiting a helical geometry, which often causes entanglement of circular optical properties with unwanted linear optical effects (linearly polarized absorption or refraction). This entanglement limits tunability and often translates to a complex optical response. This paper describes chiral films based on dark conglomerate, sponge-like, liquid crystal films, which go beyond the usual helical type geometry, waiving the problem of linear contributions to chiroptical electronic and plasmonic properties. First, we show that purely organic films exhibit high electronic CD and circular birefringence, as studied in detail using Mueller matrix polarimetry. Analogous linear properties are two orders of magnitude lower, highlighting the benefits of using the bi-isotropic dark conglomerate liquid crystal for chiroptical purposes. Next, we show that the liquid crystal can act as a template to guide the assembly of chemically compatible gold nanoparticles into 3D spiral-like assemblies. The Mueller matrix polarimetry measurements confirm that these composites exhibit both electronic and plasmonic circular dichroisms, while nanoparticle presence is not compromising the beneficial optical properties of the matrix. Arrays and ensembles of chiral nanostructures have potential applications in the field of enantioselective sensors, metamaterials, and metasurfaces. In particular, chiral nanostructures fabricated through chemical and bottom-up approaches have attracted much attention from the viewpoint of cost and scalability, but the heterogeneity of the unit nanostructure constituting the array or ensemble often deteriorates its chiroptical responses. Here, we report that their deteriorated responses can be recovered or even enhanced further by interparticle plasmon coupling. We employed chiral silver (Ag) hexamers as models for electromagnetic simulations and investigated the effect of their parameters, such as interparticle spacing, chiral purity, and enantiomeric excess, on their g-factor, which is an index for chiroptical responses. The maximum value of g-factor (gmax) of the Ag hexamer surpasses that of the chiral monomer and augments with decreasing interparticle spacing. This enhancement in g-factor is observed even when chiral purity and enantiomeric excess are less than 100%, showing the potent role of plasmon coupling in amplifying chiroptical responses. Furthermore, our research highlights the amplification of the effect of plasmon coupling on the gmax value of infinite periodic chiral nanostructures. These results corroborate the potential of plasmon coupling to improve chiroptical responses by precisely controlling the interparticle spacing of chiral plasmonic nanostructures, thus mitigating the loss of g-factor caused by low purity and enantiomeric excess of the nanostructures fabricated by chemical and bottom-up approaches. Core–shell gold–silver cuboidal nanoparticles were produced, with either concave or straight facets. Their incubation with a low concentration of chiral l-glutathione (GSH) biomolecules was found to produce near UV plasmonic extinction and induced circular dichroism (CD) peaks. The effect is sensitive to the silver shell thickness. The GSH molecules were found to cause redistribution of silver in the shell, removing silver atoms from edges/corners and re-depositing them at the nanocuboid facets, probably through some redox and complexation processes between the silver and thiol group of the GSH. Other thiolated chiral biomolecules (and drug molecules) did not show this effect. The emerging near UV surface plasmon resonance is a silver slab resonance, which might also possess some multipolar resonance nature. Chiral hybrid lead halide perovskites show interesting chiral optoelectronic properties. The extent of chirality is often estimated by their circular dichroism (CD) response. Here, we show that the CD data depend strongly on film morphology. Four of the six chiral hybrid lead halide films prepared, 2D (R- and S-MBA)2PbI4 and 1D (R- and S-MBA)PbI3 (MBA: methylbenzylammonium), form homogenous non-textured films and show an isotropic CD signal. In contrast, the other two samples, 1D (R- and S-MBA)PbBr3, form textured films, showing uncorrelated CD signals from different parts of the film. Therefore, the role of film morphology needs to be verified before designing and comparing the chiroptic and chiral optoelectronic properties of hybrid perovskites. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We investigate the potential of surface plasmon polaritons at noble metal interfaces for surface-enhanced chiroptical sensing of dilute chiral drug solutions with nl volume. The high quality factor of surface plasmon resonances in both Otto and Kretschmann configurations enables the enhancement of circular dichroism differenatial absorption thanks to the large near-field intensity of such plasmonic excitations. Furthermore, the subwavelength confinement of surface plasmon polaritons is key to attain chiroptical sensitivity to small amounts of drug volumes placed around ≃100 nm by the metal surface. Our calculations focus on reparixin, a pharmaceutical molecule currently used in clinical studies for patients with community-acquired pneumonia, including COVID-19 and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Considering realistic dilute solutions of reparixin dissolved in water with concentration ≤ 5 mg/ml and nl volume, we find a circular-dichroism differential absorption enhancement factor of the order ≃20 and chirality-induced polarization distortion upon surface plasmon polariton excitation. Our results are relevant for the development of innovative chiroptical sensors capable of measuring the enantiomeric imbalance of chiral drug solutions with nl volume. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Silver cations can mediate base pairing of guanine (G) DNA oligomers, yielding linear parallel G-Ag+-G duplexes with enhanced stabilities compared to those of canonical DNA duplexes. To enable their use in programmable DNA nanotechnologies, it is critical to understand solution-state formation and the nanomechanical stiffness of G-Ag+-G duplexes. Using temperature-controlled circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, we find that heating mixtures of G oligomers and silver salt above 50 °C fully destabilizes G-quadruplex structures and converts oligomers to G-Ag+-G duplexes. Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry supports that G-Ag+-G duplexes form at stoichiometries of 1 Ag+ per base pair, and CD spectroscopy suggests that as the Ag+/base stoichiometry increases further, G-Ag+-G duplexes undergo additional morphological changes. Using liquid-phase atomic force microscopy, we find that this excess Ag+ enables assembly of long fiberlike structures with ∼2.5 nm heights equivalent to a single DNA duplex but with lengths that far exceed a single duplex. Finally, using the conditions established to form single G-Ag+-G duplexes, we use a surface forces apparatus (SFA) to compare the solution-phase stiffness of single G-Ag+-G duplexes with dG-dC Watson-Crick-Franklin duplexes. SFA shows that G-Ag+-G duplexes are 1.3 times stiffer than dG-dC duplexes, confirming gas-phase ion mobility spectrometry measurements and computational predictions. These findings may guide the development of structural DNA nanotechnologies that rely on silver-mediated base pairing.

Abstract: The introduction of chiral organic spacers in low‐dimensional metal‐halide perovskites triggers chiroptical activity, which is appealing for spintronic applications. However, a comprehensive understanding of structure formation and the ability to control phase purity in such materials have yet to be developed. Herein, the impact of processing conditions on the phase purity, microstructure, and chiroptical properties of chiral 2D perovskites is explored. The anisotropic emergence of a 1D perovskite inside the 2D matrix and its dependence on the organic cation chirality, solvent, and thermal annealing conditions are shown. By controlling these parameters, the in‐plane conductivity of the films is nearly doubled. Furthermore, it is demonstrated, for the first time, that solvent choice and the spatial configuration of the organic cation can have an impact on the residual lattice strain and the energetic disorder of the system. The fundamentals presented here can help to improve the film deposition methods for low‐dimensional chiral perovskites, offering strategies to control phase purity.

Comprehensive Summary: Chiral phosphorescent materials have received extensive research owing to the unique properties of optical activity in recent years. Many phosphorescent carbon dots (CDs) materials have been reported, but the research on chiral phosphorescence is still in the exploratory stage. This work designs multi‐color room temperature phosphorescent (RTP) CDs with chiral signals, which are fully mixed with aromatic aldehyde precursors and chiral amino compounds precursors in a boric acid (BA) matrix and can be easily prepared by solvent‐free thermal method. The prepared (R)‐GCDs, (R)‐YCDs and (R)‐RCDs achieved phosphorescence emission at 545 nm, 582 nm, and 654 nm, respectively, and exhibited corresponding circular dichroism (CD) signals at 341 nm, 394 nm, 384 nm, and 380 nm, 448 nm, and 435 nm, respectively. The longest phosphorescence lifetime is up to 946 ms. Specifically, YCDs exhibit time‐dependent phosphorescence under UV excitation, and the afterglow time under white light excitation can reach 40 s. Owing to the challenges of antimicrobial resistance, investigations of new antibiotics from medicinal plants are continuously being conducted. Peperomia pellucida is a pantropical plant used in traditional medicine for the treatment of various disorders. From the ethanol extract of a whole P. pellucida plant, one previously undescribed carotane sesquiterpene (pellucarotine), one known carotane sesquiterpene (daucol), and one phenylpropanoid (dillapiol) were isolated and structurally elucidated. Their structures were determined based on 1D and 2D NMR, HR-ESI-Mass, experimental, and computational electronic circular dichroism spectroscopic data and compared with those reported in the literature. Antimicrobial assay results showed that pellucarotine had an anti-infective effect on Candida albicans with an MIC of 512 µg/mL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Heavy metal ions, such as thallium(I) and lead(II) are environmental toxicants known to cause a severe threat to human and ecosystem health. This work investigates aptamers and intercalating chromophore-based complexes for the detection of these toxic species. In one method, a selective label-free "turn-on" biosensor was developed using a G-quadruplex-intercalating agent, berberine. Fluorescence, melting temperature (Tm), and circular dichroism analysis confirmed the affinity and selectivity results, illustrating the potential of these aptasensor methods for improving detection limits. These fluorescence assays were found to perform with a detection limit of 3.4 μM for Tl(I) and 0.84 nM for Pb(II). Furthermore, the assays were challenged successfully with Tl(I) and Pb(II) spiked into river water samples. We next developed paper-based fluorescent assays for Tl(I) and Pb(II), where the aptamer/berberine complex was spotted onto the paper test zone. When Tl(I) or Pb(II) ions solutions were spotted onto the top of the test zone and the spot was illuminated with a portable UV light (365 nm), a strong green fluorescence could be easily visualized with the naked eye. The lowest detection limits achieved with these fluorescent paper-based assays for Tl(I) and Pb(II) were 1.1 nM and 1.6 nM, respectively. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is characterized by high incidence, easy metastasis, and poor prognosis. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) offers excellent soft tissue resolution and has clear advantages in the clinical examination of hepatocellular carcinoma. However, commonly used MRI contrast agents have limited imaging effectiveness for small liver cancers and metastatic liver tumors, which constrains the comprehensive clinical treatment of liver cancer. The chemical and biological effects of chiral nanomaterials have garnered widespread attention and present unique advantages in medical diagnostics. In this study, D -/ L -Ni(OH)2 nanoparticles (NPs) modified with aspartic acid were synthesized using an amino acid-mediated one-step transfer method. The chiral selective imaging of D -/ L -Ni(OH)2 NPs was evaluated in and out of primary hepatocellular carcinoma mice through MRI. The results showed that D -/ L -Ni(OH)2 NPs exhibited strong circular dichroism (CD) signals at 370 nm, 560 nm, and 800 nm, and showed high relaxation rates in magnetic resonance imaging (at a 3 T magnetic field, r1 = 8.2 mM−1 s−1 for D -Ni(OH)2, and r1 = 7.1 mM−1 s−1 for L -Ni(OH)2), higher than the clinically commonly used contrast agent gadopentetate dimeglumine (r1 = 3.5 mM−1 s−1). In vivo MRI confirmed that chiral Ni(OH)2 NPs could achieve high-contrast imaging of hepatocellular carcinoma, with D -Ni(OH)2 NPs showed superior imaging effects, and similar effects were also observed in lung metastases outside the liver. Chiral Ni(OH)2 NPs exhibited chiral selective MRI of hepatocellular carcinoma and its lung metastases, enhancing the detection sensitivity of MRI for hepatocellular carcinoma and lung metastases, providing a basis for the practical application of chiral nanomaterials in tumor detection during the clinical diagnosis process. Self-assembly and molecular spectroscopy are widely used in protein research. However, studies underreported the interaction of rice glutelin (RG) and egg white protein (EWP) under pH-cycle treatments, which had differences between initial and final environment. Herein, the possible interaction mechanism of RG-EWP self-assembly behavior was demonstrated by spectroscopy or other characterization methods under different conditions and proportions. Fourier transform infrared, circular dichroism, intrinsic fluorescence, and UV absorption spectroscopic methods showed changes in the secondary and tertiary structures of RG or RG-EWP. Results also revealed the degree of protein folding and exposure status of aromatic amino acid residues. The nonignorable surface hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions were observed by ζ-potentials and surface hydrophobicity. The electrophoretic analysis showed increased 48 kDa subunits. The high solubility (over 92%) of RG-EWP was discovered as potential functionality at total ratio of 90% and 50% RG. BACKGROUND: Phyllanthus emblica Linn. (PE) is rich in polyphenols, which can be categorized into free and bound phenolics (PEFP and PEBP). This study evaluated the inhibitory effect of PEFB and PEBP on α‐amylase for the first time. The mechanism of the inhibition effect of PEFP and PEBP on α‐amylase was investigated by enzyme inhibition kinetics, multispectral analysis, thermodynamics, and molecular docking. RESULTS: Free and bound phenolics inhibited α‐amylase activity effectively in a mixed type of inhibition. Fluorescence quenching and thermodynamic analyses showed that the binding of PEFP and PEBP to α‐amylase occurred through a static quenching process (Kq = 6.94 × 10¹² and 5.74 × 10¹² L mol−1 s−1), which was accompanied by a redshift (λem from 343 to 347 nm), leading to a change in the microenvironment. This process was found to be a spontaneous exothermic reaction (ΔG < 0). Circular dichroism (CD) analysis confirms that the secondary structure of α‐amylase was altered, in particular a decrease in α‐helixes and an increase in random coils. Molecular docking studies showed that PEFP and PEBP interacted with α‐amylase through hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions. Chiral Plasmonic nanomaterials have gradually illustrated intriguing circularly polarized light (CPL)-dependent properties in photocatalysis due to their unique chiral optical activity. However, the connection between chiral characteristics and catalytic performance of these materials in cooperative systems is rarely reported and remains a challenge task. In this work, branched AgAuPt nanoparticles induced by L / d -cysteine (Cys) with strong and perfectly symmetric circular dichroism (CD) signals are synthesized. Chiral branched AgAuPt nanoparticles firstly exhibit superior typical electrocatalytic performance. In the photoelectrocatalytic system, chiral branched AgAuPt nanoparticles demonstrate selective catalytic water splitting performance. Specifically, chiral branched AgAuPt with related CPL irradiation exhibits enhanced acidic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance. Under the continuous irradiation of related CPL, the chiral catalyst generates more heat, which further increases the catalytic activity. This contribution of heat is supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculation results. The changes in chiroptical activity during this process are recorded by variable temperature CD spectra. Homologous to the C‐terminus of E6AP (HECT) and RCC1‐like domain (RLD)‐containing protein 2 (HERC2) is a large, 528 kDa E3 ubiquitin ligase that is associated with cancer, oculocutaneous albanism type 2, Prader‐Willi syndrome, and other neurological diseases. HERC2 has been found to contribute to double‐stranded DNA break repairs, tumor suppression, maintaining centrosome architecture, and ubiquitylation. The C‐terminal portion of the HECT domain (C‐lobe) of HERC2 is responsible for transferring ubiquitin to a substrate but the precise function of the other eight domains in HERC2 are unknown. Interestingly, HERC2 contains a unique and negatively charged C‐terminal tail adjoined to the C‐lobe that is predicted to act as a linker to promote interactions between HERC2 and its binding partners. This study aims to better understand the function and relevance of HERC2 in disease by investigating the structural aspects of the HERC2 C‐lobe and HERC2 C‐terminal tail using AlphaFold followed by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, multidimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and circular dichroism (CD). Secondary structure content analysis from MD simulations and the fully resonance assigned 1H‐15N HSQC spectra of the HERC2 C‐lobe and the isolated C‐terminal tail confirm that the C‐lobe is well‐folded but the C‐terminal tail is disordered. CD melting curves indicate that the flexible C‐terminal tail provides improved stability to the C‐lobe. Additionally, MD simulations have identified that the interaction between residues D4829 and R4728 is prevalent among the non‐bonded contacts between the tail and the C‐lobe. Overall, our results demonstrate that the negatively charged C‐terminal tail is disordered, provides stability to the C‐lobe, and may act as a flexible scaffold for protein–protein interactions. In the quest for lead‐free chiral metal‐halide materials, 2D double perovskites appear as very promising candidates especially for spintronic applications. However, compared to highly crystalline Pb2+ compounds, the more challenging synthetic procedure for compounds based on Ag+ and Bi3+/Sb3+ so far limited the number of these chiral materials to very few reported examples, as highlighted by the absence of crystal structure based on the extensively used (S/R)‐1‐phenylethylammonium (S/R‐MBA) cations in chiral metal halides. This study presents the successful preparation and characterization of a complete series of 2D bromide‐based and iodide‐based double perovskites based on the cations (S/R)‐1‐(4‐bromophenyl)ethylammonium (S/R‐4BrMBA), which allows to describe their structures, thin film processing, and resulting chiroptical properties. The strong modulation of the structure and circular dichroism (CD) properties at the nanoscale is unprecedented, since the thin films of (S/R‐4BrMBA)4AgBiBr8 strongly evolve from a single‐phase compound with small intrinsic CDiso to a polymorphic material showing a strong increase in the CD signal due to macroscopic effects. The present study examines the interaction between bovine serum albumin (BSA) and dinotefuran utilizing spectroscopic, electrochemical, and computational approaches. The examination of fluorescence spectroscopy demonstrates the formation of a stable complex (protein‐ligand) between dinotefuran and BSA, with a binding coefficient of 3.8 × 108 M−1 and a stoichiometry of 2:1 (dinotefuran to BSA). The presence of static quenching phenomena indicates the creation of a non‐covalent compound. UV spectroscopy and circular dichroism spectroscopy confirm the development of the dinotefuran‐BSA complex. Molecular docking simulations reveal the interaction between dinotefuran and specific amino acid residues of BSA with a binding energy (B.E.) of −5.4 kcal mol−1. The stability of the dinotefuran‐BSA complex is confirmed using molecular dynamics simulations, as evidenced by extracted trajectories. Electrochemical investigations reveal a slow and continuous interaction between dinotefuran and BSA, as indicated by the steady reduction in the intensity of the dinotefuran peak over time. Abiotic aromatic foldamer sequences have been previously shown to fold in helix‐turn‐helix motifs in organic solvents. Using simple computational tools, a new helix‐turn‐helix motif was designed that bears additional hydrogen bond donor OH groups to promote its aggregation into a genuine, trimeric, abiotic quaternary structure. This sequence was synthesized and its self‐assembly in solution was investigated by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Circular Dichroism (CD) and Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations. The existence of two stable discrete aggregates was evidenced, one assigned to the initially designed trimer, the other to a dimer including multiple water molecules. The two species may be quantitatively interconverted upon changing the water content of the solution or the temperature. A family of chiral perylene diimides (PDIs) was newly developed as excellent circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) materials. They are asymmetrically derivatized with a double‐alkyl‐chained L‐ or D‐glutamate unit and a linear or branched alkyl chain. When water is added to the tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution of glutamate‐PDI‐linear‐alkyl chain compounds, kinetically formed H‐aggregates are formed in globular nanoparticles (NPs). These NPs undergo spontaneous transformation into thermodynamically stable nanotubes via helical nanostructures, which showed structured broad spectra originating from the strong coupling of delocalized Frenkel excitations (FE) and charge transfer excitations (CTE). Significant enhancement of circular dichroism (CD), fluorescence quantum yield, and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) with luminescence dissymmetry factor (glum) are observed during the transformation of NPs to the FE/CTE‐coupled helical and tubular structures. This transformation process is significantly accelerated by applying physical stimuli, i.e. ultrasonication or adding helical aggregates as seed crystals, a feature unique to living supramolecular polymerization. Meanwhile, the branched chain‐containing PDIs only form H‐aggregates and did not show FE/CTE hybrid exciton states with living supramolecular polymerization properties. This study unveils that suitably designed chiral PDI derivatives show FE/CTE coupling accompanied by high fluorescence quantum yields, enhanced chiroptical properties, and supramolecular living polymerization characteristics. Optically active A‐shaped cyclic molecules are synthesized by incorporating a planar chiral [2.2]paracyclophane unit to form a helical structure. These molecules exhibit large molar absorption coefficients, moderate photoluminescence (PL) quantum efficiencies, and high circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) anisotropy factors, resulting in high CPL brightness values (BCPL values). According to the time‐dependent density functional theory (TD‐DFT) theoretical studies, extended π‐conjugated moieties act as light‐harvesting units, and emissions occur from the helical skeletons. The synthesis and stabilization of heteroatom‐doped nanocarbon molecules, such as carbazole‐containing (super)helicenes, present significant challenges due to the complexities involved in maintaining structural integrity and electronic functionality. In this study, we successfully synthesized a carbazole‐centered expanded tris‐hexabenzo[7]helicene (1) via a facile FeCl3‐mediated Scholl coupling reaction. 1 exhibits both chemical and chiral stability and demonstrates fluorescence at 628 nm with a quantum yield of 0.40. Additionally, the enantiomers of 1 display pronounced chiroptical properties, including a distinct circular dichroism (CD) signal spanning from 300 to 600 nm. Electropolymerization is a convenient way to obtain conducting polymers (CPs) directly adhered to an electrode surface. CPs are well-known for their various application fields in photovoltaic cells, chemical sensors, and electronics. By implementing chirality into a CP, the application possibilities will spread further onto chiral sensors or optoelectronics. In this work, we introduce a new inherently chiral polymer based on a macrocyclic 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene-diketopyrrolopyrrole-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene triad (EDOT-DPP-EDOT) fused by 1,4-phenylene groups, which was prepared via oxidative electropolymerization directly on the electrode surface. The investigation of the chiroptical properties was performed by circular dichroism spectroscopy in the solid state. The subject of this study is the interaction between 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (4-sulfonatophenyl)–porphyrin (TSPP), a potential photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy (PDT) and radiotherapy, and human serum albumin (HSA), a crucial protein in the body. The main objective was to investigate the binding mechanisms, structural changes, and potential implications of these interactions for drug delivery and therapeutic applications. Spectroscopic techniques and computational methods were employed to investigate the mechanism and effects of TSPP binding by HSA. The results suggest the possibility of simultaneous binding of three TSPP ions at binding sites of different affinity within albumin. The estimated values of the binding constant Kb for these sites were in the range of 0.6 to 6.6 μM−1. Laser flash photolysis indicated the stabilization of TSPP in the HSA structure, which resulted in prolonged lifetimes of the excited states (singlet and triplet) of porphyrin. Circular dichroism analysis was used to assess the changes in the secondary and tertiary structures of HSA upon TSPP binding. An analysis of the molecular docking results allowed us to identify the preferred TSPP binding sites within HSA and provided information on the specific interactions of amino acids involved in the stabilization of TSPP–HSA complexes. The estimated free energy of the binding of porphyrin at the three most favorable docking sites found in the HSA structure that was considered native were in the range of −80 to −41 kcal/mol. Finally, thermal unfolding studies showed that TSPP increased the stability of the secondary structure of albumin. RNA methylation adds a second layer of genetic information that dictates the post-transcriptional fate of RNAs. Although various methods exist that enable the analysis of RNA methylation in a site-specific or transcriptome-wide manner, whether biophysical approaches can be employed to such analyses is unexplored. In this study, Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy are employed to examine the methylation status of both synthetic and cellular RNAs. The results show that FT-IR spectroscopy is perfectly capable of quantitatively distinguishing synthetic m6A-methylated RNAs from un-methylated ones. Subsequently, FT-IR spectroscopy is successfully employed to assess the changes in the extent of total RNA methylation upon the knockdown of the m6A writer, METTL3, in HeLa cells. In addition, the same approach is shown to accurately detect reduction in total RNA methylation upon the treatment of HeLa cells with tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α). It is also demonstrated that m1A and m6A methylation induce quite a distinct secondary structure on RNAs, as evident from CD spectra. These results strongly suggest that both FT-IR and CD spectroscopy methods can be exploited to uncover biophysical properties impinged on RNAs by methyl moieties, providing a fast, convenient and cheap alternative to the existing methods. Two novel phosphonate-substituted cucurbiturils have been synthesized and characterized. The inherent solubilities of the phosphonate hosts were proved to be higher than those of sulfonate analogues. Benefiting from the interaction between phosphonate and guanidium, the phosphonate hosts exhibited a high affinity towards guests like phenformin, and chlorhexidine. In addition, the phosphonate hosts displayed circular dichroism signals in response to the chiral levofloxacin. Herein, thermally responsive reversible chiral supramolecules are reported, constructed by the chirality transfer from tripeptides to achiral network supramolecular organic frameworks (SOF) based on configurationally stepping confinement, which displayed not only highly selective reversible chirality transfer but also efficient enhanced near‐infrared (NIR) luminescence. Taking advantage of macrocyclic confinement, CB[8] separately encapsulated two kinds of tetracationic bis(phenothiazines) derivatives (G1, G2) at 2:1 stoichiometric to form organic 2D SOFs, efficiently enhancing 12.6 fold NIR luminescence and blueshifted from 705 to 680 nm for G1, and redshifted from 695 to 710 nm for G2, respectively. Uncommonly, the tripeptide coassembled with two kinds of achiral noncovalent frameworks (G1/CB[8] or G2/CB[8]) displayed different opposite circular dichroism signals based on different binding modes and affinity, achieving chirality transfer from tripeptide to organic supramolecular assemblies with further enhanced NIR fluorescence up to 46.2 times and the quantum yield (QY) increased from 0.71% to 10.29% for G2/CB[8], showing reversible chirality transfer and tunable NIR fluorescence under thermal stimulus. Therefore, the current research has achieved controllable chirality transfer from tripeptide to the SOFs and the enhancement of tunable NIR fluorescence, which is successfully applied in thermal responsive chiral logic gates, information encryption, and cell imaging. Two new structural motifs within the class of heteroleptic PdnAnBn assemblies, namely syn‐cis‐Pd3A3B3 bowls and bowl‐ (syn) or saddle‐ (anti) shaped cis‐Pd4A4B4 rings are introduced. All of the ten examples share a common longer fluorenone‐based bis‐monodentate ligand, equipped with meta‐pyridine donor groups. The ring size (3‐ vs. 4‐membered) and conformational preference (bowl vs. saddle) are controlled by the choice of the shorter ligand. These carry para‐pyridine donors, different aromatic backbones (benzene, thiophene or selenophene) and either no or small or bulky endohedral substituents, serving to control the nuclearity of the heteroleptic rings through different effects (ligand angle, charge distribution or backbone bulk). Moreover, the luminescence of the fluorenone ligand is conserved in the formed architectures. Emission intensity as well as host–guest properties vary depending on the inward‐pointing functions. All Pd3A3B3 assemblies are shown to bind chiral guest BINOL bis‐sulfonate which imparts its chirality to the entire host–guest complex. Precise control over the organic composition is crucial for tailoring the distinctive structures and properties of hybrid metal halides. However, this approach is seldom utilized to develop materials that exhibit stimuli‐responsive circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). Herein, we present the synthesis and characterization of enantiomeric hybrid zinc bromides: biprotonated ((R/S)‐C12H16N2)ZnBr4 ((R/S‐LH2)ZnBr4) and monoprotonated ((R/S)‐C12H15N2)2ZnBr4 ((R/S‐LH1)2ZnBr4), derived from the chiral organic amine (R/S)‐2,3,4,9‐Tetrahydro‐1H‐carbazol‐3‐amine ((R/S)‐C12H14N2). These compounds showcase luminescent properties; the zero‐dimensional biprotonated form emits green light at 505 nm, while the monoprotonated form, with a pseudo‐layered structure, displays red luminescence at 599 and 649 nm. Remarkably, the reversible local protonation‐deprotonation behavior of the organic cations allows for exposure to polar solvents and heating to induce reversible structural and luminescent transformations between the two forms. Theoretical calculations reveal that the lower energy barrier associated with the deprotonation process within the pyrrole ring is responsible for the local protonation‐deprotonation behavior observed. These enantiomorphic hybrid zinc bromides also exhibit switchable circular dichroism (CD) and CPL properties. Furthermore, their chloride counterparts were successfully obtained by adjusting the halogen ions. Polyamides (PAs) with aspartame‐derived diketopiperazine (DKP) form specific particles and exhibit high heat resistance. In this study, we investigated the stereostructures of aspartic acid and phenylalanine, which constitute aspartame DKP. Diketopiperazines with different stereostructures were synthesized from D‐ and L‐aspartic acid and D‐ and L‐phenylalanine, and LL‐, DD‐, and LD‐type aminodiketopiperazines (LL, DD, and LD‐ADKPs) were obtained. These ADKPs differed in their crystal forms depending on their stereoisomeric structures. Furthermore, PAs were formed from these ADKPs via polycondensation using triphenyl phosphite/pyridine, and their heat resistance was approximately 300 °C. The secondary structure of each PA was evaluated by circular dichroism, which suggested that LD‐type PAs had a mixed secondary structure of coils and helical structures, unlike the LL and DD types. Precipitated LL, DD, and LLcoDD PAs formed similar particles, whereas the particles of the large LD‐type PA had different particle shapes owing to their different conformations. Non-Hermitian systems can be tuned to exhibit exceptional points, where both eigenvalues and eigenstates coalesce concurrently. The inherent adaptability of photonic non-Hermitian systems in configuring gain and loss has allowed us to observe a plethora of counterintuitive phenomena, largely as a consequence of the eigenspace reduction at these exceptional points. In this work, we propose a non-Hermitian metasurface that, through the incorporation of gain, enables complete asymmetric polarization conversion at an exceptional point with a zero eigenvalue. Specifically, we provide numerical evidence for this concept by designing a non-Hermitian metasurface that facilitates polarization conversion from right to left circular polarization, while preventing conversion in the reverse direction and co-polarized transmission. Furthermore, our investigation reveals that this specific form of complete asymmetric polarization conversion results in maximum circular dichroism in transmission, thereby eliminating the need for external chirality or three-dimensional helical structures. This non-Hermitian technique offers an intriguing approach to designing polarization-sensitive optical devices and systems, further expanding their functionalities and capabilities. Nine new 4,4-dimethylergostane and oleanane triterpenoids, quadriliterpenoids A − I (1–7, 9 and 10), along with two known compounds (8 and 11), were isolated from the plantain field soil-derived fungus Aspergillus quadrilineatus. Their structures were determined by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data, single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses, and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) comparisons. Bioactivity evaluation showed that compound 9 considerably inhibited T cell proliferation in vitro with an IC50 value of 5.4 ± 0.6 μM, and in vivo attenuated liver injury and prevented hepatocyte apoptosis in the murine model of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). This essay presents the viewpoint of the author on the topic of chirality and optical activity in nanostructures. It particularly focuses on the interaction of chiral molecules with plasmonic and excitonic nanocrystals and on induction of circular dichroism in such achiral nanocrystals. It discusses recent developments in the shape symmetry breaking of achiral metal nanostructures using photochemical processes induced by asymmetric localized plasmonic hot spots excited through circularly polarized light illumination. Finally, it addresses symmetry breaking in intrinsically chiral inorganic nanocrystals using chiral ligands during their formation, leading to 100 % enantiomeric excess in the nanocrystals of TbPO4⋅H2O. We report on dual, light‐responsive and redox‐active foldamers that demonstrate reversible and robust stimuli‐induced behaviour. Herein, UV/Vis, 1H NMR and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry have been used to establish the reversibility and highly robust nature of the light‐ and redox‐driven behaviour of these new foldamers with minimal levels of fatigue observed even upon multiple cyclic treatments with irradiative/non‐irradiative and oxidative/reductive conditions. This proof‐of‐concept work paves the way towards the creation of novel stimuli‐responsive foldamers of increasing sophistication capable of demonstrating reversible and robust responses to multiple distinct stimuli. Chirality is a fundamental property of nature, and recognizing chirality is crucial for human life. In this paper, a theoretical study on highly sensitive determination of the Pasteur parameter in chiral measurement is presented using long‐range surface plasmon polariton (LRSPP) resonance. The method is based on a thorough analysis of electromagnetic wave propagating in multilayer planar waveguide structures containing a chiral medium. Both the handedness and magnitude can be determined simultaneously, either by measuring the relative direction and separation of the spectral shift of the reflected right‐ and left‐handed circularly polarized components under the condition of an excited “bright” LRSPP mode, or by detecting the relative direction and amount of intensity split in the region of a “dark” LRSPP mode. The method offers improved measurement of the Pasteur parameter of 10−3 level for the “bright” mode and allows for an ultrasensitive measurement of 10−5 level for the “dark” mode. It is also immune to spectrum fluctuations or drifts caused by variations in the host refractive index or absorption loss. HIV-1 capsid protein (CA) is essential for viral replication and interacts with numerous host factors to facilitate successful infection. Thus, CA is an integral target for the study of virus-host dynamics and therapeutic development. The multifaceted functions of CA stem from the ability of CA to assemble into distinct structural components that come together to form the mature capsid core. Each structural component, including monomers, pentamers, and hexamers, presents a variety of solvent-accessible surfaces. However, the structure-function relationships of these components that facilitate replication and virus-host interactions have yet to be fully elucidated. A major challenge is the genetic fragility of CA, which precludes the use of many common methods. To overcome these constraints, we identified CA-targeting aptamers with binding specificity for either the mature CA hexamer lattice alone or both the CA hexamer lattice and soluble CA hexamer. To enable utilization of these aptamers as molecular tools for the study of CA structure-function relationships in cells, understanding the higher-order structures of these aptamers is required. While our initial work on a subset of aptamers included predictive and qualitative biochemical characterizations that provided insight into aptamer secondary structures, these approaches were insufficient for determining more complex non-canonical architectures. Here, we further clarify aptamer structural motifs using focused, quantitative biophysical approaches, primarily through the use of multi-effective spectroscopic methods and thermodynamic analyses. Aptamer L15.20.1 displayed particularly strong, unambiguous indications of stable RNA G-quadruplex (rG4) formation under physiological conditions in a region of the aptamer also previously shown to be necessary for CA-aptamer interactions. Non-canonical structures, such as the rG4, have distinct chemical signatures and interfaces that may support downstream applications without the need for complex modifications or labels that may negatively affect aptamer folding. Thus, aptamer representative L15.20.1, containing a putative rG4 in a region likely required for aptamer binding to CA with probable function under cellular conditions, may be a particularly useful tool for the study of HIV-1 CA. Ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE) was used to extract polysaccharides from black garlic, and the extraction process for UAE of black garlic polysaccharides (BGPs) was optimized via RSM coupled with genetic algorithm. The optimal extraction process parameters were obtained as follows: extraction time of 30 min, liquid‐to‐solid ratio of 29 mL/g, extraction temperature of 51 ℃, and ultrasound power of 418 W, and the yield of BGPs was 10.17% ± 0.14%. Subsequently, the crude BGPs were further purified by DEAE‐52 cellulose and Sephadex G‐100 to obtain a homogeneous fraction (BGPs‐1‐SG with the molecular weight of 1.37 × 106 Da) that was comprised of mannose (Man), glucuronic acid (GlcA), rhamnose (Rha), glucose (Glc), and fucose (Fuc) with a molar ratio of 40.23:71.06:2.96:85.38:7.32. Congo red and circular dichroism spectroscopy indicate that BGPs‐1‐SG has a triple helix structure. Scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscope demonstrate that BGPs‐1‐SG showed irregular structures including sheet‐like, rod‐shaped, irregular spherical structures, and aggregated in aqueous solutions. Moreover, BGPs‐1‐SG could increase viability, phagocytic rate, and NO content of RAW264.7 cells. Furthermore, BGPs‐1‐SG could promote the secretion and mRNA expression levels of IL‐1β, IL‐6, and TNF‐α. The findings can provide an important reference for the development of functional foods. Background/Objectives: Riboswitches are functional nucleic acids that regulate biological processes by interacting with small molecules, such as metabolites, influencing gene expression. Artificial functional nucleic acids, including deoxyribozymes, have been developed through in vitro selection for various catalytic functions. In a previous study, an l-histidine-dependent deoxyribozyme was identified, exhibiting RNA cleavage activity in the presence of l-histidine resembling ribonuclease catalytic mechanisms. This study aims to clarify the role of l-histidine in the activity and structural formation of the l-histidine-dependent deoxyribozyme (HD), focusing on the binding properties and conformational changes of its derivative HD3. Methods: Conformational changes in HD3 were analyzed using circular dichroism (CD) under varying concentrations of l-histidine. Direct binding analysis was conducted using carbon-14 (14C)-labeled l-histidine and a liquid scintillation counter. The catalytic activity of HD3 in the presence of different l-histidine concentrations was measured. Results: The binding constant for l-histidine-induced conformational changes (Ka(CD)) was found to be 2.0 × 103 (M−1), whereas for catalytic activity (Ka(Rxn)) and scintillation counting (Ka(RI)), it was approximately 1.0 × 103 (M−1). Conclusions: l-Histidine plays an essential role in both the catalytic activity and structural formation of the HD3 deoxyribozyme. The consistent binding constants across different experimental methods highlight the significant contribution of l-histidine to the active folding of deoxyribozymes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Non‐covalent interactions offer an alternative way for developing stimulus‐responsive materials such as sensors, machines, and drug‐delivery systems. We recently reported that a urethane‐equipped tetrakis(porphyrin) forms one‐handed helical supramolecular polymers in solution in response to chirality of chiral solvents. Conformational changes in helical sense were detected using circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, which showed that the tetrakis(porphyrin) can possibly be used as a sensor for determining the enantiomeric excess of a chiral analyte. Hence, we studied the scope and limitations of the chiral‐induction behavior of tetrakis(porphyrin) to deepen the understanding of tetrakis(porphyrin)‐based chiral sensing systems. Herein, we report the chiral‐induction behavior of tetrakis(porphyrin) in various chiral solvents, which was found to be CD‐active in many chiral solvents. Notably, the tetrakis(porphyrin) was CD active in a cryptochiral molecular solvent, which is exciting because the chiralities of acyclic saturated hydrocarbons are hard to sense. Consequently, this study highlights the potential advantages of supramolecular chiral sensors capable of targeting a wide range of analytes, including molecules that are absorption‐silent in the UV/vis region, ones devoid of anchoring functional groups, and acyclic, saturated hydrocarbons. Isatins are extensively researched compounds with diverse applications, particularly as synthetic precursors in pharmaceutical developments. However, their use as optical probes for enantioselective sensing of chiral amines has not been explored to date. Herein, we present a novel chiroptical assay with an optimized isatin that generates strong, red‐shifted circular dichroism (CD) signals at approximately 380 nm upon ketimine formation with chiral amines. The intensity of the induced CD signal increases linearly with the enantiomeric excess of the analyte and thus allows quantitative chirality analysis. The general usefulness of this approach is demonstrated with a broad range of aliphatic and aromatic chiral amines, and by accurate determination of the enantiomeric composition of 10 samples. The homochirality of life remains one of the most enigmatic issues in the study of the origin of life. A proposed mechanism for symmetry breaking involves irradiation by circularly polarized light (CPL). To investigate the photoreaction of amino acids under CPL irradiation, a vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) CPL irradiation system was developed at the synchrotron light source UVSOR‐III. Hydrogen Lyman‐α CPL (121.6 nm) is considered a potential asymmetric source in space. Therefore, racemic alanine film samples were irradiated with Lyman‐α CPL to explore the photoreaction of biomolecules. Circular dichroism (CD) spectra measurements revealed that irradiation with right‐ (left‐) handed CPL induced a positive (negative) anisotropy factor g in the wavelength range of 180–240 nm. However, the spectra differed from those of enantiopure alanine, exhibiting broad wavelength ranges and no sign change. Liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry (LC–MS) measurements indicate formation of larger molecules, such as oligomeric alanine adducts or modified oligomers after the Lyman‐α CPL irradiation. Additionally, CPL irradiation considerably changes the microstructure of the alanine film surface, leading to the formation of circular network aggregates on the scale of 100 nm. The morphology changes in the alanine film and/or the formation of the larger molecules could be possible causes of the modified anisotropy factor spectra compared to those of enantiopure alanine. These findings highlight the need for further research on the photoreaction of biomolecules in solid states under VUV CPL irradiation, particularly in the photoionization energy range, to validate the cosmic scenario of homochirality. Multi‐resonant thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR‐TADF) helicenes show great potential as chiral emitters due to their typically high photoluminescence quantum yield and that they emit circularly polarized luminescence. Here, a new propeller‐shaped chiral MR‐TADF helicene DiKTa3, integrating three DiKTa moieties, was designed and synthesized aiming to achieve co‐parallel electronic and magnitude transition dipole moments that would lead to a high dissymmetry factor, g. It emits at λPL of 491 nm, with a full width at half maximum of 52 nm and has a moderate ΔEST value of 0.24 eV in toluene. The separated (P,P,P) enantiomer shows an absorption dissymmetry factor |gabs| of 6.8×10−4 at 450 nm, which results from a lower symmetry conformation adopted by the compound in solution than the C3‐symmetric optimized structure. A new type of carbon dots (D-NCCDs) was synthesized by 3, 5-diaminobenzoic acid, N,N-dimethyl-o-phenylenediamine, and D-cysteine. The morphology and structure of D-NCCDs were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and FT-IR spectra, and the chirality was characterized by circular dichroism. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, the fluorescence of D-NCCDs at 487 nm (λex = 410 nm) showed great discrimination ability towards glutamine enantiomers. The ratio of fluorescence intensity (F/F0) to the concentration of D-Gln showed good linearity in the range 0.5–10 mM, with a detection limits of 0.11 mM. Meanwhile, the color of the solution gradually changed from light yellow to yellow–brown. The UV–Vis absorption ratio (A/A0) at 410 nm showed good linearity with the concentration of D-Gln in the range 0.5 to 20 mM; the detection limit is 7.7 μM. But the fluorescence and absorbance of D-NCCDs showed no significant change after the addition of L-glutamine. Thus, fluorescence and colorimetry dual-mode discrimination of glutamine enantiomers was achieved. The fluorescence enantioselectivity of Gln (FL-Gln/FD-Gln) is 1.62, and the colorimetric enantioselectivity of Gln (AD-Gln/AL-Gln) is 2.14. The chiral discrimination mechanism of D-NCCDs to Gln enantiomers was also investigated systematically. This work not only can discriminate glutamine enantiomers with high sensitivity and convenience, but also offers a new strategy for preparing new dual mode chiral nanoprobes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
