The study was conducted to determine the validity and reliability of the Sexual Quality of Life Scale-Male version in men with cardiovascular disease. The study was conducted with 148 male patients who were hospitalized in a Training and Research Hospital Cardiology clinic, met the inclusion criteria, volunteered to participate in the study, were married or had a partner. The data were collected between May-June 2018 using the Descriptive Characteristics Questionnaire and the Sexual Quality of Life Scale-Male form. The data were evaluated by confirmatory factor analysis, item total score correlation and Cronbach alpha analysis. According to the results of confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the fit indices of the scale were .84 and above, factor loads were between 0.30-0.59, and the Cronbach a coefficient was 0.97. In line with the results of the study, it was determined that the Sexual Life Quality Scale-Male version is a valid and reliable measurement tool in evaluating the sexual quality of life in men with cardiovascular disease. Background/Aims: In this study, we aimed to determine the perceptions of women of reproductive age with active sexual lives living in the northwest of Turkiye, and whether they are aware of sexual desire and sexual violence they encounter in their sexual lives. Methods: This qualitative study was carried out with 18 women by in-depth interviews. In-depth and semi-structured interviews were conducted between December 2021- July 2022. Content analysis was used for data analysis. Results: Three themes were identified in the study: (1) the building block of marriage (2) sexuality as violence (3) the effects of sexual violence. The participants emphasized that their different expressions of sexuality from their groups. When they do not feel sexual desire, the sexual function is an act of violence in which the woman is the object of sex. Sexual harassment, some women were also exposed to verbal and psychological violence of a sexual nature. Conclusion: At the end of the research, it was determined that women often perceived sexuality as a fundamental element for the continuation of marriage and commitment to their spouses. Aim: This study aimed to assess the effects of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on sexual behaviors of females in Turkey by also evaluating their male partners. Method: This study included females (>18 years of age) who were married or had a regular sexual life in the last 6 months and had documented sexual functional status based on the Female Sexual Function Index FSFI) before the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was performed on May-July 2020. The participants were interviewed via telephone call or e-mail. The sexual functions of the females were evaluated using the FSFI and erectile functions of their male partners were evaluated using the International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5). The scores obtained before and during the COVID-19 pandemic were compared. Results: The study included 116 females with a mean age of 39.83±9.38 years. The total FSFI score of the females during the pandemic was 20.98±7.53. The aim of this study is to examine why individuals who watch pornographic content watch pornography and to explore the motivations underlying their watching behavior. The research was conducted based on phenomenological design which is one of the qualitative research methods. The research was determined by having semi-structured interviews with 8 participants (6 males and 2 females) who engage in problematic consumption of pornographic content and by purposive sampling method. In the study, researchers used a Personal Information Form and a semi-structured interview form as data collection tools. Semi-structured interview questions were posed to participants through online video conferencing using the “Zoom” program, and the responses given by the participants were recorded. These recordings were analyzed using the content analysis method. The data analyses of individuals who watch pornographic content were grouped under six themes named (1) watching motivations, (2) watching outcomes, (3) perspectives on content, (4) effects of content, (5) knowledge and (6) different pursuits. The study results indicate that curiosity and information-seeking, traumatic family life, role models and lack of social skills, emotional avoidance, stress, and boredom constitute the motivations for watching pornographic content. The participants were observed to report experiencing intense feelings of guilt, shame, and regret after watching pornographic content, and to have difficulties with adaptation to the work, school, or social environment in daily life. The research is thought to contribute to both experts and individuals interested in the research on providing psychological support for problematic consumption of pornographic content in the matter of deciding on which information can be used. Purpose: The research was conducted to see which words and photographs women use to describe their sexuality and the effect of some variables (education level, marital status, age, place of residence, economic status) on women's definitions. Method: A total of 196 women participated in the study; 176 people constituted the sample. Feminist theory forms the theoretical framework of the research. Demographic information of the participants and data were collected through Online Photovoice (OPV) method and an online form. Online Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (OIPA) was used to analyze the data. Findings: The women described their sexuality through pleasurable/desired emotions, to be united / to be intertwined / to integrate / to be complete / to be together of opposites, pleasurable/desired bodily sensations. They used anonymous photos from nature and human body to describe their understanding of their sexuality. It seems education level and marital status affect the women’s description of sexuality. Only the women with a graduate or above degree described their sexuality as “freedom, existence, getting to know oneself, exploration;” the ones married described sexuality as “pleasurable/desired behaviors, natural and continuation of the generation.” Conclusion: The collected data are not equal in all demographics except for the variable of "education level". Despite this, it is possible to say that the words and photographs used by women to describe sexuality are predictable in the light of feminist view. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ponty's philosophy of the body offers an alternative to empiricism and idealism's thinking about the body, consciousness, the world and the relationship betweenthem. By deconstructing the düalist and mechanical body understandings of traditional metaphysics, Ponty develops his own phenomenological life-body idea and tries to overcome this düalist structure, which is opposite to each other but also necessarily includes each other, with the body-subject understanding in perceptual experience. Consciousness cannot be separated from its environment, as the body's interaction with the world constitutes mental states and actions. In Ponty, the body is not a mere object but a Subject, a form of conciousness. In this sense, bodily consciousness become the basis of all mental states and actions. Ponty tries to reveal his understanding of subjectivity based on bodily consciousness through his in-depth research on perception and action. The body is neither an object in the world like other objects, nor does it have an existence independent of consciousness. In Ponty, the individual is his own body. The body makes possible the intentional opening of the body-subject to the World. In this respect, the body philosophy that Ponty describes in his Phenomenology of Percepton is actually a questioning of individual existence. On a perceptual, bodily level, in a state of existence prior to reflection, the reciprocal primal interaction of consciousness and the world makes it possible for phenomena to be visible on indefinite existence and to open up unlimited horizons of meaning possibilities. This primordial contact of the body and the world, which is prior to reflection, judgement and understanding, is a creative activism that opens the phenomenal field. The aim of this article is to explain how Ponty, in his body analysis, explains human worldliness and the intentionality of the individual who perceives himself as a body through the concepts of movement, motor skill, habit, sexuality and body-schema, and thus how he bases the possibility of human existence on pre-reflective interaction with the world. This bodily mode of existence opens up the boundless web of interconnected relations on the indefinite horizon of perception and the world and invalidates all kinds of objective truth claims. In order to understand the spiritual, social and educational implications of sexuality, it is necessary to delve into its nature. When we delve into the nature of sexuality, we see two dimensions: visual and actual/lived sexuality. This study Hz. It has been revealed that in the sexuality taught by the Prophet, these two dimensions were taken into account in accordance with the reality. Our study also included a discussion about the illusions created by visual sexuality. The approach to educating young generations about sexuality should also be correct. The generation of companions, who were the closest followers of the Prophet, not only put his entire life under a magnifying glass, but also his sexual life. Not only did they freely ask about sexuality-related issues, they also followed his sexual life in a legitimate manner. The difference of this study from studies on sexuality in the basic field of Theology is its emphasis on the nature of sexuality in the light of hadiths. Raising awareness about actual sexuality is also among the goals of this study. Sexuality, which is within the field of legitimacy created by religion, does not produce visuality and its most important feature is that it is "actual/lived". In sexual education to be given to young people, the divinity inherent in religion and sexuality should be examined. It is doubtful that mixed socialization, where divine standards of dress are disregarded, offers stable sexuality. Natural sexuality is sexuality that is "lived" within the boundaries of the creator who gives the feeling of reproduction. YouTube’un niceliği teşvik eden yapısı zamanla platfomu ciddi anlamda dönüştürmüştür. Gelir elde etmek veya gelirlerini artırmak isteyen içerik üreticileri daha fazla tık alan, daha uzun süreler izlenen ve daha fazla yorum alan videolar üretme eğilimindedirler. Ekonomik motivasyonla üretilen videoların YouTube politikaları ile örtüşüp örtüşmediği tartışmalı bir hale gelmiştir. YouTube’un Çıplaklık ve Cinsel İçerik Politikası’nda (YouTube3, 2021) cinsel tatmin amaçlı içeriklere izin verilmemektedir. Eş deyişle çocukların da rahatça giriş sağlayabildiği ana akım bir platform olarak YouTube kendini cinsel tatmin sağlayıcı bir şekilde konumlandıramaz. Bu çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturan bu husus üzerine yapılan literature taramasında YouTube’un çıplaklık ve cinsel içerik ile ilgili politikasına uyup uymadığına dair bir çalışma bulunamamıştır. YouTube üzerine yapılan araştırmalarda, motivasyonlar hep kullanıcılara sorularak tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmaya göre cinsel tatmin amacı gibi bir hususun hem kullanıcılara sorularak elde edilmesi zor olduğu gibi literatürdeki pek çok araştırma hali hazırdaki anket formlarında yapılandırılmış motivasyonları katılımcılara sunarak farklı motivasyonların ortaya çıkma ihtimalini de ortadan kaldırmıştır. Çalışmaya göre bir YouTube videosundaki yorumların analizi o videonun hangi motivasyonlarla izlendiğine dair daha somut verilerle ortaya koyabilir. Bu noktada çalışmanın amacı kullanıcıların YouTube’un politikalarına uygun olmayan kullanım motivasyonları taşıyıp taşımadıklarını tespit etmektir. Çalışmada örneklem olarak seçilen NakedbakersTV isimli kanal özelinde Maxqda programı vasıtasıyla veriler elde edilmiş, bu veriler içerik analizine tabi tutulmuş ve bulgular yorumlanmıştır. İnceleme sonucunda YouTube’da yer alan çıplaklığın izleyiciler tarafından eğitim alma ve bilgi edinme sınırlarını aşarak cinsel amaçlarla kullanıldığı, dolayısıyla bu videoların dolaşımına izin veren YouTube’un kendi politikasıyla bağdaşmadığı tespit edilmiştir.

Objectives: It is designed to test the Turkish version of ASKAS's validity and reliability for use with older people, health professionals, and people who influence older people. Material and Method: Language and content validity, item analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and internal consistency coefficients were evaluated in this study. Results: It was decided to omit two items from the scale's knowledge subscale, and the three-factor structure of the attitude subscale was found to be within the range of acceptable fit indices. Conclusions: The Turkish version of ASKAS was determined to be valid, reliable, and applicable in practice.

This paper aims to analyze Chaucer’s use of food as a sexual metaphor in the carnal universe of his fabliaux, namely, The Miller’s Tale, The Reeve’s Tale, and The Merchant’s Tale. Fabliaux usually narrate the adulterous relationship revolving around a young wife, her old husband, and a young virile man. Therefore, sex plays an essential part in the dynamics of these tales. This paper argues that food is both associated with female characters’ sexual escapades in a positive way denoting their sexual power and also reveals their husbands’ unsuccessful efforts to satisfy their young wives sexually. Thus, the metaphors of food implicitly reflect the husbands’ impotence because of old age. In this regard, this paper engages with Chaucer’s subversive use of food in The Miller’s Tale, The Reeve’s Tale, and The Merchant’s Tale and investigates how Chaucer overturns the gendered power struggle between wife and husband with regard to their sexual activities by employing metaphors of food. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the sexual satisfaction and mental health indicators in polygamous and monogamous women in Turkey. The study included 108 female participants: 36 monogamous wives and 72 polygamous wives. Materials and Methods: The participants were evaluated with the Symptom Check List (SCL-90-R) and Golombok-Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction (GRISS). Results: There were significant differences between the groups regarding the total GRISS score and Dissatisfaction, Sensuality, Vaginismus, and Anorgasmia subscale scores. In comparing the SCL-90 scores with ANOVA, the senior wife group had significantly higher scores in the Depression subscales. Monogamic wives had higher satisfaction from their sexual lives and had less frequent psychiatric symptoms than polygamic wives. Conclusion: It is important to raise awareness about the polygamic family structure, draw attention to often neglected issues such as sexual health, and improve the health services provided to this group.

ABSTRACT: This paper analyzes Michel Foucault’s theorisation on life, body and population in referring to the concepts of biopolitics and sexuality. In doing so, the paper puts critical attention to the relation between the rationality of politics and power. Tracing this relationship, the paper basically develops a conceptual framework in which truth and discursive practices of the truth regime gain strategic and operational position to produce social norms and to impose these norms on the idealisations of population and human-subjects. By the end of this paper, this conceptual analysis offers a way through which the subject formation and biopolitical subjectivity are clarified. Relying on this new way, this paper puts forward that biopolitics with its mechanisms and instruments is a perspective in order to reveal power relations and political regulations in general; and is a light to realize boundaries of different sexualities. This analysis ends by questioning the resistance, counteract and power relations in the light of these concepts. Bu alternatif yoldan ilerleyerek, makale biyopolitikanın mekanizmaları ve araçlarıyla genel olarak iktidar ilişkilerini ve siyasi düzenlemeleri ortaya çıkaran bir perspektif ve farklı cinselliklerin hadlarını fark etmek için aydınlatıcı bir kavram olduğunu ileri sürmektedir. Makale bu analiz ışığında direniş, karşı koyma ve iktidar ilişkilerinin sorgulanmasıyla sona ermektedir.

Aldous Huxley is a well-known English writer who has had a major influence on the subsequent writers directly or indirectly. A prolific writer of a variety of books including novels, short stories, essays, screenplays, and travel books, Huxley is especially famous for the novel Brave New World (1932). The novel depicts the World State in 632 A. F. (after Ford); it is controlled by Mustapha Mond, and people are born through artificial wombs. Since the novel was published, it has attracted much attention not only in the field of literature but also in the field of biology. Hailed as one of the most outstanding dystopian novels, the novel provides precise delineations of a racist and totalitarian regime, the World State, characterized by the advanced biotechnology, overpowering hedonism as well as deliberately devised emotional numbness. It is obvious that life, especially the biological existence of people, becomes not only the cornerstone but also the prey of politics-biopolitics. Michel Foucault's term, biopolitics, is the basis of the biopolitical frame, within which, Brave New World is closely examined in this paper. The novel reflects a biopolitical aim which is to shelter and improve life through the biological regulation with advanced bio-science as well as biotechnology. In this respect, this study intends to carry out a detailed analysis of biopolitics reflected in Brave New World, represented by biological regulation pertaining to life making and setting, medicalization, and sexuality. In human life, bio-psycho-socio-cultural and theological explanatory factors for the sexuality are determinative factors and have an effect on sexual feelings, thoughts, attitudes and behaviors. Religion is still seen as an important predictor of thoughts and attitudes about human sexuality. The aim of this research is to assess the perceptions of believers in different religions and faith groups and non-believers who different nationalities around the world, about sexuality which is based on qualitative data. The data have been analyzed by using interpretative phenomenological analysis as a qualitative research technique. Participants' views about sexuality were collected by both face-to-face and webbased surveys with an open-ended questionnaire created by the researcher as a qualitative data collection methodology and strategy. In this exploratory qualitative study, open-ended responses of the participants, have different nationalities such as Japanese, Scottish, Indian, Pakistani, Caucasian, Irish, Arabic Asia, Dutch, Portuguese and French, 13 (72%) male and 5 (28%) female, (n=18) regarding their thoughts and attitudes about sexuality such as dating, marriage, pre-marital and extra-marital sex, virginity, pornography, homosexuality have been analyzed. In conclusion, this qualitative study provides information about the personal perceptions of the participants in small-sample of different types of believers and non-believers regarding the relationship between religion and sexuality. The results indicate that (a) personal religious beliefs have a great effect on thoughts and attitudes about sexuality in different belief systems; (b) Muslim participants have more conservative orientations about sexuality than other covered religious groups and non-believers. Gender inequality can be traced back to social and legal conventions. It could manifest itself in the form of unequal economic opportunity, educational access, and decision-making processes. When roles are divided based on gender, men and women will have different access to resources within them. Fisheries, water, and agriculture are examples of such resources. GBV has always been used or employed to preserve such a power imbalance, according to evidence. Expectations and conventions in society have been ruthlessly enforced. These have only served to exacerbate the issue of gender inequality. The focus of this study will be on gender-based violence in Turkey. Since the 1980s, this has been included in the state’s agenda and that of civil society organizations. There is also need for gender politics to be focused on. Violence against women is an issue that needs to be taken seriously. This is because it is not just a criminal act but can also have some economic and social implications. When a culture adopts gender norms that are considered inflexible, there is always the issue of visible imbalance between men and women. There is a significant issue or challenge that has hampered the analysis of domestic violence in Turkey. This study takes a critical look at the topic in this regard. In addition to the neglect of this problem in Turkey, women have been left behind in education, employment, the language of violence against women in the media, the insufficient law is both effective and worrying in the domestic violence problem in Turkey.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada kanser tanısı almış kadın hastaların tedavi sürecinde cinsel yaşamlarına yönelik yaşadıkları sorunların, bu sorunları sağlık personeli ile paylaşabilme durumlarının ve sağlık personelinden beklentilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte yapılan çalışmanın örneklemini, Şubat 2017- Eylül 2017 tarihleri arasında, bir eğitim araştırma hastanesinin tıbbi onkoloji polikliniğine başvuran, cinsel yönden aktif ve araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan toplam 120 kanser tanısı almış kadın hasta oluşturdu. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan anket formu ile toplandı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hastaların yaş ortalaması 45.5±7.80 olup, %35’i meme kanseri, %43.3’ünün tanı süresi 1-2 yıl, %65.8’i 3. veya 4. evrededir. Hastaların %55’inin hastalık sonrası cinsel yaşamlarında sorun yaşadığı ve sorun yaşayanların sadece %29.2’sinin bu durumu sağlık personeliyle paylaştığı saptandı. Hastaların %58.5’inin tedavi sürecinde cinsel yaşamlarını sağlık personeliyle paylaşmak istediği belirlendi. Sonuç: Çalışmamızda kanser hastalığı ve tedavilerinin cinsel yaşamı olumsuz şekilde etkilediği belirlendi. Hastaların cinsel yaşantılarında oluşan sorunları sağlık personeli ile konuşmak istedikleri ancak yeterince ifade edemedikleri bulundu.
